  1. I don't like the fact that it sounds like Tyler's werewolf gene is now untriggered again. I wanted him to go back to being a regular werewolf (as he was before he died and became a vampire). It makes no sense to me that it's now dormant again. At least she confirmed what I believed - everyone is still vampires other than Tyler and Alairc is still an Original.

    - 'I sorta feel like in season 9, if it’s Enzo and Alaric, we just spin them off into their own show. I think life would be pretty good.'

Season 9?? Really Julie? Really? >.>
But I actually would not be opposed to this if Damon/Elena/Stefan were retired.

    - 'in terms of how long the life of the show is. Warner Bros. would say, “17 seasons!” And I think I would say, “Seven!”'
Looks like the 7 seasons are still in play.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Julie may want 7 seasons but Paul seems to be so done with the show. His contract only goes until Season 6 so i could see him not wanting to come back. Nina & Ian also seem to be over it as well.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Translation Damon and Bonnie will return early In season 6 to show once againd eath has no meaning on show If your a regural who's not Jenna or Vicki

    ReplyDelete
  5. all the trio's contract expire after season 6,not just paul.ditto for supernatural.next years early renewal news should be interesting!

    ReplyDelete
  6. The CW *really* needs to learn to get go of aging properties. Smallville shouldn't have run 10 seasons, Supernatural shouldn't be going into 10 seasons with no end in sight, etc. They need to start setting their goals at 5 seasons, 7 if there's still plenty of material... never 10 though, especially shows with mythologies. But anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm so glad Alaric is still a super vamp. Best news. And Enzo has kind of grown on me, but we really need Damon back.

I think they should have kept Tyler a hybrid, though. It's what really made him interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think further seasons will depend on ratings. Killing Bamon could be a saver for the show as plenty people will hear what happened and probably tune back in for some intel so the ratings could go a bit back up. Either way they won't offer big contracts & spend a lot of money on a show that doesn't deliver.

I think the show could go on with some new characters but they would need to be carefully introduced. We need some Vamps back in town, fresh Vamps.

    ReplyDelete
  9. yeah well, if it is like you say the TVD its going to end next season

    ReplyDelete
  10. I assume Plec & other writers go to a "How to unanswer the reporters question & still let him think I answered it!"
Honestly season 6 is their big chance to give the show good CPR, and bring it back to life. There is no Klaus, No Silas, No Katherine no witches or else to drag the show along. So we can go back to the essential emotional drama we had in the first 3 seasons.
Got a feeling Elena or Stefan could go on a hunt for Luke & Liv, I' d rather have Stefan hunting them and Caroline trying to stop him.
I hope Julie invests a bit more in Vd now that TTP is in Cw grave, she neglected the show a lot..

    ReplyDelete
  11. putting the whole responsibility on caroline dries alone who is an avid delena fangirl didn't help either!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Stefan of course will blame himself for not being able to hold on the other side to wait for Damon.
Tyler being just a human with werewolf gene, i really like that, it's up to him if he triggers it or not.
Elena will be like, find the freaking witch and kill her! does anybody doubt that? and the witch will eb like "Yo, i found a way to bring them back from whwener 7 hell they are"
I'm still hoping that wherever they go Katehrine is in there, the show is boring without Katherine tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  13. are you referring to liv/luke or anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Reset?"

    Wasn't S5 meant to be a reset from S4?

    ReplyDelete
  15. It seems like they should of left him dead, as they mostly destroyed his character on TO.

    ReplyDelete
  16. reset means they would not start the season in mystic falls, everyone scattered and in different place with a big time-jump.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It would be nice if the consequence of bringing Damon makes Damon fall out of love with Elana. I would not even care much, if they stole a the plot from when Buffy came back and they pulled her from peace.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I wanna see Alaric heading over to the originals and helping them defeat esther for what she did to him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, them i never bothered to learn their names xD

    ReplyDelete
  20. Reset also means going back to basics.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd love to see damon and bonnie back human but in some other place together with no re collection of their past life and make their way back to mystic falls. Could be interesting change in dynamic with the other characters. Also if they really want to push delena then they could make it like even without memories or anything they still found their way to each other!? Just a though

    ReplyDelete
  22. I like this idea. If Damon is the ghost that JP and Kevin Williamson envisioned for the end of the entire series, then making him human and giving him permanent amnesia could be a way to resolve the "no-more-ghosts" issue since the Other Side is gone. It would still be a problem, though, because there really shouldn't be anymore resurrections, no matter who the characters are. Julie Plec shouldn't be killing off characters if she would want to bring them back a few months or a few years later.

    ReplyDelete
  23. True but technically they went into
The light where as others went into the darkness so it could be said that they made it through whatever and ended up somewhere else so when she said deaths would be permanent it could be implied that they didn't die as we didn't really see them get sucked it just a bright light

    ReplyDelete
  24. with the way their new shows are performing I don't see any hit 5 seasons anyway.
    - The Originals will probably fail next season thanks to the monday move, I only see that show live until a third season...maybe a fourth one if we're lucky
    - Reign is already performing like a show that is begging to be axed
    - Arrow looks safe until maybe a sixth season
    - I don't see The Flash perform much better than Arrow
    - and I see neither of the new shows to turn out as much of a hit

remember yesterdays article about Tribunes president starting to get slightly annoyed with the network ? TheCW might not even live to see 2017 anyway.

They can't let their products age if their fates are more than endangered.

    ReplyDelete
  25. and yet he's still more likable and better acted than most of TVDs cast

    ReplyDelete
  26. this show would have become 'The Delena Diaries' eventually. They were bound to get a rabid shipper following and theCW can't afford NOT to give in to their demands

    ReplyDelete
  27. Reset means "I promise I'll try to make something other than 'The Delena Diaries' next season, I'll try I never said I will"

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOL I like that!

    ReplyDelete
  29. he had no storylines since he became hybrid, everyone was mentally prepared to see tyler bite the dust, but as usual, his death didn't stck and now he back to square-one,a douche with inactivated werewolf curse.

    ReplyDelete
  30. they should have got rid of him past season IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  31. explain how we're back to square one ?
His entire character evolution hasn't just gone away. He's very much the same guy he was before.
Only as an untriggered werewold now.
I know you hate the character but sheesh way to stay objective

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm guessing the time jump will be about a year. From what was said in all three of these interviews, it looks like Damon and Bonnie really did go somewhere permanently, and there's no way to bring them back without serious consequences. The idea of Elena possibly seeing dead people who are at peace has been introduced already. She kept seeing Aaron's ghost while she was infected with the Ripper virus, and she didn't know yet that he was killed or how. She also had some sort of daydream or vision that might have been Damon trying to compel her to sleep with him again. Then the visions of Stefan came, and Markos did a spell to make those go away. Now that Markos is dead, will Elena have visions again? What would they mean? I think that might be the angle that gets explored. If not, it should be. Julie Plec said that while Elena copes, we'll see a side of her we've never seen before, but as the main character and Damon's former girlfriend, I think she would have to be the character causing Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham to show up in some form. I can't see any other way to do it besides revisiting Elena's tendency toward strangely accurate hallucinations.

I hope the humans and vampires don't stay separated longer than one arc. That would get old fast. It looks like a loophole in the Travelers' spell is for vampires to be "allowed" back into town. Maybe they just have to be invited, and considering Matt and Jeremy's feelings about having vampires around them the last time we saw them, a rift could have been created between friends and family that led to human "friends" asking the vampires to leave the people of Mystic Falls in peace. The first arc could end with a human inviting all of the vampires into town, or they all might get invited in over the course of the arc. Then the problem would be co-existing. Matt is tired of being surrounded by vampires and their problems (not to mention that he'll probably be the new sheriff), and Jeremy only wants to kill vampires now that witch magic, which made him overcome his Hunter instincts and tolerate his sister, is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i try to stay objective and away from all kinds of fandom, but julie and caroline will have to create a miracle to make me like this character. As long as he stays away from caroline,i'm okay!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I thought I saw some sort of white light when Lexi went away to be at peace. Oh well. I'm satisfied just to wait and see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  35. hardcore klaroline shipper ? :P
I get that still, he's had plenty of character evolution not to be the same douche we had in season 1.
I get it though, there're just some characters I can't stand and won't ever like. Klaus and Sara being the latest examples

    ReplyDelete
  36. who's sara?

    ReplyDelete
  37. klaroline shipper-nope.I'm just tired of everone trying to romance with caroline. She and elena needs to remain BF less for at least the first half of season 6,but that's highly unlikely coz they are pushing for steroline down our throat. This show sometimes drives me nuts!

    ReplyDelete
  38. the annoying chick from Arrow

    ReplyDelete
  39. Caroline as a character is a skin for fans to live their romantic fantasies trough. Sadly we won't ever see Caroline stay single, as some writer is living a new romantic fantasy trough her...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love her,can't stand laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  41. ...and we all know who that is! Haha!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. exact opposite with me. Love Laurels faultyness, hate Saras saint-ness

    ReplyDelete
  43. And I'm sure there's gonna be lots of news of negotiations... at this point if I were Jared and Jensen the only lure into staying on the show is a continual paycheck, there's a small chance they'll have trouble finding work very soon after the show, they've been in those roles so long. (Not saying it would, but it's possible.) If the cast of TVD doesn't want to go past season 6 it'd be nice if they'd let it be known now so they could do a REAL final season and not have to wrap it up in a few episodes. Or even a 6 episode additional final season, those are so stupid. (Lookin' at you Syfy and CW)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think if anyone has a right to be there to see both Mikael and Esther gone for good, it's Elena. She got killed twice and lost half of her family because of Esther, and Mikael hunted her when she was a child. If Alaric went to New Orleans, Klaus and/or Elijah would kill him on sight. The last place Alaric needs to be is on TO. I think this is a moot point anyway. The last two crossovers were such huge disasters that I can't see the EPs ever trying it again. The shows are kept separate because they disagree too much where mythology and storylines are concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  45. He probably won't be human for much time. And werewolf Tyler was one of my favorite characters. I hope they can bring him back.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, I think Arrow can go on for a lot more. It will only depends on the actors, because there is a lot of story to tell. I would say at least 8 seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't think Alaric can be killed. I don't think he needs to go to The Originals though unless Esther is planning on doing something with him again.

In regards to Elena - she just had the misfortune of being born an Amara doppelganger. That was on Silas/Tessa/Amara and the immortality spell that was done. If Elena hadn't been the doppelganger though she wouldn't have dated Stefan and she may have been able to live a normal life or she may have drowned along with her parents.

Esther made it worse because she used an Amara doppelganger for force the hybrid curse onto Klaus against his will to try and appease Mikael. Klaus never wanted the curse and always wanted to break it so Elena kind of wound up in the middle of the family feud over that. But had Elena just cooperated (which she did, but the Salvatores didn't) she wouldn't have had to stay dead - Bonnie could have put a protection spell on her or they could have tried Elijah's elixir. They made it a lot worse then it needed to be by provoking Klaus and trying to screw it up.

Elena and her friends were idiots who released Esther back in Season 3 instead of just leaving it alone. So everything that happened because of that was stuff they brought on themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So basically, if they jump forward a year, anything that happens between Damon and Bonnie will happen offscreen like everything in Bonnie's life (or death). Sounds like Plec

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would be happy if Damon and Bonnie do not come back. Been wanting Bonnie gone since season one, and have not liked the wimpy puppy that just follows at Elena's heels Damon has become. Ian is a much better actor than this series. So glad Alaric is back, maybe he will bring some needed juice.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I have a feeling that Alaric and Enzo are live characters that are going to replace whatever Damon and Bonnie contributed to the show. Ian and Kat might show up once in a while in some context, like maybe a hallucination or a flashback, but it seems like everything is set up for those two characters to stay dead. As far as the contracts are concerned, I think I know how the EPs found a way around that. Michael Trevino was under contract to play Tyler for six years, but he got very little screen time, and he didn't show up in the majority of episodes. I think there might be a minimum amount of screen time that each actor gets, and that could be what'll happen with Ian and Kat. They'll pop up only as often as writers are obligated to have them on-screen. I think it would be a welcome change after so much focus was given to the main love triangle and Bonnie started to get annoying after a while.

    ReplyDelete
  51. can anyone clarify how come michael, klaus's dad in TO,didn't require to pass through bonnie, the anchor of the other side,to come back to the land of living?I'm confused!

    ReplyDelete
  52. So Bonnie and Damon are in some kind of Purgatory and we will see them in season 6 but not with the living. Not right away i am guessing maybe at the mid season finale. Rick is the baddest supernatural being now. Now i know Tyler is human but what if he is turned into a vampire first or dose that only work if he is made into an Original Vampire then kills someone and becomes a Hybrid again. I just was not sure if he could be turned then trigger the wolf gene without the Original Vampire spell.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Divina is a powerful witch and she had help with those items she put on the floor in the circle where she pulled Mikael through from the other side. She got the items from that Vault that Camille found with the key from her uncle. Divina seemed to know what those items were i am guessing the items help her i saw a compass it looked like it as to guide him through not 100% sure but its my best guess.

    ReplyDelete
  54. wasnt "the other side" teh purgatory tho? "magical" creatures were tehre to find peace and if they're not they stayed there right?...
He cant be a hybrid again, he drank Elena's blood the first time now he will have to drink Hope's blood which is Klaus and Hailey's daugther for him or anyone be a Hybrid.

    ReplyDelete
  55. i completely forgot about the mystical objects of unknown significance. She channeled her power via the objects to pull him through. It makes sense, thanks a lot. That looked like a big loophole.I wonder during these interviews, why can't they ask these type of foggy moments explanation?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Season 6 sounds better already!! NO Markos. No Silas. No Travelers, no more chanting, Tyler might move away for good! Forwood is confirmed OFFICIALLY over. Glad they moved on. My only problem is, I really didn't want to see Enzo as a series regular. Sure he's cool. But he's NO Alaric!! And i desperately wanted to see My DALARIC again!! Not Denzo!! I don't want Enzo cock blocking, Damon and Alaric's bromance. Not cool. I could totally see Alaric and Enzo fighting over Damon. Alaric would kick his ass. LOL And my other issue.. If i have to see Stefan, ATTEMPT to go dark one more time, i'm gonna puke. I'd much rather see Caroline turn off her off switch. I think that would be fun to witness.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Any Time. Not sure why they don't explain certain things but i watch the episode when it airs live then the next day to make sure I din't miss anything. With the Objects helping her she still had a lot of power to bring him back it just sets up season 2 for an epic battle between Klaus and POPPA Original i can't wait to see Klaus face when he realize has to kill Mikeal again.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The other side was a way for Kitsiza to trap Silas from moving on and with that any supernatural being that dies was not truly dead. There was a way to bring em back no matter what so whats dead dint have to stay dead. But now that its gone dead is dead. Yeah i was wondering if he gets turned into a vampire before he triggers the werewolf gene then when he kills someone like Klaus was turned into and Original Vampire then trigger the gene. I was not sure if he could be turned into a vampire first before he kills someone cause he is getting a do over. Come to think about it if he becomes a vampire then triggers the curse he might not need hopes blood.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Damon will be off with Bonnie wherever so I think he'd be out of the picture at the start of the season. Both Enzo & Alaric are in the land of the living so neither one of them will be interacting with Damon at the start of the season. I think Alaric, Jermey & Elena will all live together again so I think Alaric will try to bring Jeremy & Elena back together (they've barley interacted the last 2 years and Elena stopped caring about him).

    ReplyDelete
  60. Tyler won't be a hybrid again. There are no more human Amara doppelgangers left so he would be unable to transition. As for Klaus' daughter everyone but Elijah, Klaus, Rebekah & Hayley believe her to be dead so that's out of the picture. I don't think Tyler would even want to be a vampire again.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I know that I meant when Damon returns. Even if Damon is gone I can still see them fighting over him. Doesn't matter if he's there or not. I imagine Alaric being all "Damon is my buff, and I'm gonna get him back, not you." Alaric and Enzo won't like each other that's for sure. Alaric would have no choice but to live with Elena and Jeremy. I imagine Elena is gonna be the one to help Alaric to adjust. It'll be great to see Alaric again. He's the glue, IMO.

I think unpredictability has been the driving force behind the success of the show..as long as they keep it that way..the show will do just fine

    ReplyDelete
  63. Bertha Strongarm18 May 2014 at 14:54

    ohhhh noooo!

I definitely think that shows should have an idea of how long they want to be on. Part of the CW's problem is that they get great shows, but then want to keep the characters at a certain age while the actors playing those characters age. They pitch the writing at a very young audience, rather then making the shows generational in content - so that the shows have relevance for all. I get that they have to target a certain demo, but when all their shows are targeting that same demo....makes it difficult. The shows can't really compete with some of the other networks.

I think TO will last for five seasons (**she prays**). I have been over TVD for a while, despite still watching to make sure that I am abreast of the plot. The show seems to go round and round in circles...without any real sort of resolution to anything.

    ReplyDelete
  64. well that's not what I was saying ^^

Personally I think every show should wrap its overreaching story-arc up in every single season finale and only put a unrelated cliffhanger there if the show has already been renewed that way every show has a round and clean ending in case some networks decide to be di**s about their renewal policies. .
At least that's what I want for 'The Originals'. Have a different storyline each year that ends and could work as a possible series finale, that way we won't be left hanging :P
I totally agree on the actor issue. I'm really worried about TO simply because of that. Joseph is beginning to show his age and Daniel...well...he's hitting 40 soon. Both look younger than their age but I don't know for how long Daniel can reverse age and Joseph can keep time at bay.
Well the issue is not that their shows lack quality rather that the CW appears more as the teen network and this doesen't appeal to an older audience.

If I could I would want TO to last for six or seven seasons but let's be honest about that: it's not performing too well and probably won't either next season, especially thanks to theCWs decision to move it to mondays :/

    ReplyDelete
  65. Technically EVERY show can go on for more than 5 years. I have no doubt that creativly Arrow has material for many years to come. BUT I don't know if theCW survives long enough to tell these tales.
I'd love to see Stephen Amell and John Barrowman battle it out for 20+ years though

    ReplyDelete
  66. Actually, I think it'll take as long as the time jump for Bonnie and Damon to get to a place where Bamon can actually happen. At the moment, they're just forced together, and it can't be certain that they stayed together when the Other Side went away. If they're both brought back after a significant amount of time has passed and they'd already given up hope of a resurrection and moved on, they would feel closer to each other because of whatever happened or will happen to them. Bamon can still take place on-screen regardless of how those characters are handled.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I hope that Elena and Alaric help each other. Having Alaric back might keep Elena from obsessing about Damon's death so much that she can't move on with her life. When the show returns after a time jump, Elena will probably be on the mend and grateful to have her surrogate father back. I know Julie Plec mentioned her having a coping mechanism and showing a side of herself that no one has seen before, but I don't think she'll be pining over Damon in the usual way. I can't wait to see what exactly her grief process brought her to. Alaric's presence would keep her from doing anything self-destructive, but I'm sure there's some big surprise in store that is the result of a collection of all of the tragedies that Elena has experienced. Paul Wesley is supposedly excited about how Stefan will be dealing with his brother's death, which probably means that it'll be something else we haven't seen before. I can't see Paul Wesley being happy about the return of Ripper, and it's been confirmed that Steroline won't happen right away. I think Stefan will be the one obsessed with bringing back Damon and Bonnie. A lot of people can get behind Stefan caring that much about someone other than Elena, especially if he has disagreements with Elena over it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Am I the only one who hopes we get updates about what's coming next season periodically throughout the rest of the spring and summer? I don't know if I even want to wait until July before the spoilers start coming in. I am really excited, especially since it looks like someone is trying to restore the show back to the way it was in the beginning.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yes he can Klaus was a wolf but was made vampire first then he trigger the gene and his mom then curse him. Then he had to drink the blood of the doppelganger to break the curse and sire new hybrids. If Tyler becomes a vampire first he can become a hybrid. Klaus was both then his mom curse him. Elena blood was to break the curse so it would not matter.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Dude she's not freaking pinning, she's grieving over the love of her life and her best friend!! THERE"S A DIFFERENCE!!! and i doubt she'll be "healthy" even if Alaric is there. She might smile or even leave the house. doesn't mean she's not hurting. Regardless of w/e time jump. which i think will be a yr. But a yr isn't enough. I wouldn't be surprised if she turned her emotions off again. But the writers already did that, so i don't see them going down that path again. Elena's gonna help Alraic deal with his vamperism. Which is a good process. I don't doubt Stefan will obsess over it cuz he's the one that feels guilty about it in the first place, and Caroline is gonna be right by his side helping him.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Then how was Klaus Both before he was cursed.

    ReplyDelete
  72. ♥ Carina loves TVD ♥19 May 2014 at 09:54

I think it's going to be interessting to see Tyler with an untriggerd werewolf curse. Is he going to miss being a Hybrid? Or is he going to be glad to be a human again? Either way he has to be carefull not to trigger the werewolf curse again because then he is back to having to turn every full moon

    ReplyDelete
  73. I would like to see Caroline do a 360. The way she killed Liv's brother. LOL. There was not hesitation or thinking about it. She did it. Just like someone else we know; who will kill without thinking about to save a loved one's life. Perhaps now she will cut slack to Elena, Damon, and everyone else without being so judgmental. It is so obvious she is in love with Stefan. She will do whatever it takes. Even kill Liv's brother.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Klaus was turned into a vampire by his mother (as were the rest of the Originals) via an immorality spell (just as Silas & Amara became immortal via magic). Different rules apply to them then to other vampires. Tyler could become a vampire again if Esther made him an Original (like she did Alaric) but he can't be turned the way normal vampires are.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This is something that's bothered me for a while. After mythology surrounding hybrids was wrapped up so tight on TVD, Klaus shouldn't have been able to make even a hybrid baby without Elena's blood being somehow involved, and it was said that her blood was useless at the time the baby was conceived. Furthermore, it should especially be impossible for Hope to sire hybrids if Klaus can't do it on his own and Hope's mother was only a werewolf. It doesn't matter if Hayley was considered royalty or cursed. Her family background was most likely the result of a lot of fighting among the werewolves to establish pack leaders, and if the curse somehow played a role in Hope existing (such as if doppelganger blood was used for it), then Hope would have died when the curse was broken. There is a major plot hole here. The only way that it would make any sense for Klaus to have a hybrid baby who can sire her own hybrids is if a) Elena is Hope's biological mother and Hayley was somehow just a mystical surrogate, or b) Hope is a Petrova doppelganger on top of everything else. The latter can't be possible because it was said that Hope has Klaus' eyes, which means that she is not Bulgarian in appearance. It's very bothersome that writers on The Originals keep playing with TVD mythology and causing confusion. Debates and arguments wouldn't happen if Julie Plec kept both shows consistent. It's almost as if they were desperate to make the baby thing work and keep it interesting.

That being said, since it was established that Klaus was wrong about Elena being useless as a doppelganger when she became a vampire, it should be possible for her blood to help Tyler out of transition if he somehow becomes a hybrid again. I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line, Elena sires someone by accident. As far as I know, she has yet to turn anyone into a vampire.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think that Hope being something other than a werewolf has everything to do with Klaus and nothing to do with Hayley. They explained that the reason Klaus was able to father a child was because of his werewolf-side (and since he broke the hybrid curse he's only slept with Hayley, Caroline (who's a vampire and can't get pregnant) & Genevieve) so the child should just be a regular werewolf IMO. The fact that she's also part vampire or witch comes from Klaus as she inherited Esther's magic and some of Klaus' vampire-ness. Klaus could have knocked up any werewolf and I think the situation would be exactly the same.

Esther used Tatia (an Amara doppelganger) to put the hybrid curse on Klaus. He needed to find another one in order to break the curse on him. He later discovered that Esther had a fail-safe in case he did break the curse and that he needed the doppelganger blood in order to create hybrids (because Esther didn't count on the doppelganger surviving so when Elena did she tried to have her killed because she didn't want Klaus to make hybrids). The hybrid affected Klaus only, not his daughter.

The Travelers may not need a human doppelganger for their spell but Klaus did because that's how Esther set it up. When vampires transition they have to drink human blood to complete the transition or else they die. They can't drink vampire blood so for the hybrids they have to drink the blood of a human doppelganger - so Elena's blood won't work for that anymore.

  78. I so agree!! Why can't we just go for a friendship instead of a romance. Just bring new guys in there and not kill them off immediately like that guy Caroline liked. Stefan said season 1 that Caroline and him would never happen and yes, even if their characters developed, they should stay best friends.

  79. I LOVED that part. I cracked up in an oh shit kinda way. I was cheering her on. Caroline's killed before to save the ones she's loved. But this was like a oh crap she's not messing around sort of thing, she wants her man back. lol I wouldn't say she's in love with him, but she definitely likes him romantically. I kinda want them to have a few dates (not few as in loosely) before she or he breaks out the L word. For now i just wish one of them would realize their feelings already. OR someone can say, hey Caroline, YOU HAVE FEELINGS FOR STEFAN! Or Hey Stefan you idiot!! Wake up!! You have feelings for Caroline!! The problem is, no one on the show is as BOLD as Caroline when it comes to stating the obvious. And they only one that was close to saying anything is dead now. Hell i wouldn't even care if Enzo said something at this point, instead of shooting subtle barbs at Caroline. (rolls eyes).

  81. You just described every reason I've been trying to understand where the baby came from. Thank you, by the way, for not greeting my post with hostility like someone did last time. The baby might have more to do with Klaus than Hayley, but he still shouldn't have been able to conceive a child by himself. I'm sure that magic was involved, but it seems like a consequence to dark magic. I'm not saying that Hope herself is a consequence, but I think the way that Hope came into being is some sort of consequence, though not necessarily a very bad one. When people speak of loopholes on either TVD or TO, they're generally talking about spells or finding ways around them, not anything concerning nature. I think there was a spell already in place that used Klaus' werewolf side as a loophole. The Original Witch created the first hybrid herself when she made Klaus a vampire, whether or not she was aware that killing someone would make him a werewolf as well. Before the curse, he was supposedly able to sire hybrids on his own. The spell that made Klaus what he is, especially after the curse was broken, would be strong enough to find a way for him to make hybrids after the doppelganger blood supply was gone, but that doesn't mean that he was restored to what he was 1,000 years ago. No one really understood what exactly doppelgangers do. They might have been created to get their blood drained, but the power in their blood is worth something. Without that additional power, which came from Tatia originally and was in Klaus when he was first made a hybrid, Klaus wouldn't be able to make hybrids at all now. The Original Witch saw to that when she created the failsafe. Hope's existence proves that somehow Esther was thwarted through a loophole found by either her own spell that made Klaus the Original Hybrid or by the spell that created Elena's line of doppelgangers. Elena was the end of her line, and she was made a vampire, ensuring that no more hybrids could be sired and that there would be no more Petrova doppelgangers.

If nature is involved at all in the creation of more hybrids, it's through the process of evolution. Klaus was a new species, and he became violent after he was prevented from propagating his species in any way, but Esther is so powerful that we've seen the kind of magic it takes to undo one of her spells. This is going to seem strange, but one quasi-scientific explanation for Hope could be that while Klaus didn't retain any of the power in Elena's blood so that he could make hybrids on his own, he might be carrying around a copy of her DNA along with his own since he killed her to break his curse, or maybe a connection was created that wasn't really noticeable but was enough for all of Hayley's chromosomes to be rejected when Hope was conceived. A baby with too many chromosomes never lives to be born. I might be thinking too much in the realm of science, though. I think you're right that it would have made more sense, considering the baby storyline, for Hope to be born a werewolf, but she clearly wasn't. In a sloppy move to make Hayley a hybrid to start some other storyline, TO writers made Klaus' daughter more powerful than he ever was. That couldn't be possible unless Hope carries some genetic inheritance from human Elena. Klaus treated Hayley like an "incubator" and it was said that he planned on killing her, but honestly I had a hard time seeing her as anything more than a mystical surrogate of some kind. This is probably why so many people had a problem with the baby story. There are too many holes.
