The Originals - Season 2 - Daniel Sharman cast in Major Role

7 May 2014

The Originals has cast Teen Wolf fan favorite Daniel Sharman in a major season two role, E! News has exclusively learned.

So who will Sharman, who is also known for his work in feature films such as Immortals and The Last Days of Edgar Harding, be playing on the CW hit when it returns for its sophomore season? Kaleb, the handsome, devilish and charming new witch in the French Quarter's coven.

Intent on wreaking havoc, wooing women and causing as much chaos as possible, Kaleb has been deeply wounded by a horrific family upbringing and covers his emotional bruises with a wicked sense of humor, as well as a wicked temper. When you're on his good side, there's no better party. Get on his bad side? Well, you'll regret it

  1. Don't watch, but I find it hilarious that every Teen Wolf actor who leaves the show keeps going to work on CW shows.

  2. So... the new character is a witch version of Klaus? I'm preemptively disappointed.

It's generally considered to be a BS reason.

MTV apparently is one of the lowest paying networks, so after building a fanbase on Teen Wolf he's jumped to a network that pays more.

  4. I didn't know that about MTV. It makes more sense now. :)

  5. Ah can't wait to see Klaus threaten to kill him.

  7. exactly my thought, this show hits new lows every day

I didn't know that. That also explains why Colton left.

  9. He actually sounds like Kol

  10. Only 2 out of 7 that have left have gone over to The CW :P

  11. agreed, sounds more like Kol than Klaus.

  12. Not that I know exactly how that was phrased, but isn't a new role on a new show on a new network 'something new'? I mean, was it flat out stated that he meant 'besides acting'?

  13. Another evil witch? At least he's male so it will be a break from all the female witches on this show. So far the only male we've had was Papa Tundre, all the rest of the witches have been female.

I could see the first theory working.

Esther (the originals mother) was the original witch. We've seen all but one of her children, her oldest child. As far as we've been told, the oldest Mikaelson child died but we haven't seen how (no body = no death). Furthermore everyone currently alive has never met the oldest child so they wouldn't know what he looks like, what he can do or anything like that. Everything they know about him comes from Esther.

For all we know, he was learning witchcraft from Esther and 'something else' happened.

Or perhaps Esther wasn't the only 'Original Witch' and the firstborn was also one. It would make sense with the 'Original' theme. With Rebekah gone, they can replace her with another type of 'Original'. So we'll have 3 different types on the cast (Original Hybrid, Original Vampire, Original Witch)

The theory about the oldest child could be true. I think his name was Aaron but he could be using a fake name.

His name was written in a cave in one episode, but we don't know who wrote that. If we theorize that Esther lied to her other children...then perhaps she told them a fake name. ( or like you said, he could be currently using a different name and his real name is Aaron )

  17. and he will fall for Davina ... so predictable!

There's also been rumours (whether they're true or not, I don't know) that the Teen Wolf set isn't a very friendly place for the actors. Apparently some of them aren't treated very well and that's why a lot of people seem to be jumping ship. Perhaps it was a nicer way of saying he wanted to try a better work environment.

  19. he's to old for her she's 16/17 only

Plot twist and he falls for Josh, the girls are just a cover up for how he truly feels XD

  21. It is. But, in my opinion, if you want to try something new, you go for a different role on a show significantly different. The Originals and Teen Wolf are both supernatural shows aimed at teens.
That said, the character he'll play on The Originals seems quite different from Isaac, so I'm excited.

  22. Whats up with this show and actors with name Daniel? Daniel Gillies, Danielle Campbell, Daniella Pineada and now Daniel Sharman. Are they starting a collection? Looks like another character with temper issues. Sounds like an enemy in the making.

  23. They were looking to cast newborn baby girls as Klaus and Hayley's baby for the season finale though. I know that it can be hard to tell the difference between what gender a baby is when they are really young but I doubt they would specify for no reason.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Touche. Totally forgot about that. Granted, baby Bailey on "Grey's Anatomy" is played by twin girls. Maybe girl babies are infinitely easier to work with, like an unspoken rule for working with pretend newborns. But now I'm definitely leaning towards Kaleb being a long lost Mikaelson (especially given Christopher DeBono's theory about having three types of Originals - and, possibly, a fourth, an Original Werewolf, if Klaus finds the rest of his pack). The 'K' name, the "upbringing" drama, the British accent, the uncanny resemblance to Joseph Morgan...all factors that are far too blatant and specific to ignore.

  25. now they are 3 (Colton Haynes for Arrow, Adelaide Kane for Reign and now Him for the originals)

  26. And didn't Gage leave because she booked a pilot with the CW that didn't get picked up?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I never knew what she left for! That's kind of awkward lol

    ReplyDelete
  28. I suppose:/ I think he's just gonna be a normal witch that's gonna cause a whole load of drama tbh... I think if he was a long lost Mikaelson then Esther would have tried to kill him along with the rest of her children in season 3/4 of TVD (or whenever that happened, I loose track).
