Supernatural - Season 10 - Latest from Zap2it - 21st May 2014

Both Collins and Jared Padalecki confirm that Season 10 will immediately deal with the fallout from Dean's death-by-Metatron/demon transformation. "The final 30 seconds of the finale ... certainly sets up what's going to happen with Season 10," Padalecki tells Zap2it.

But Dean's demonic twist isn't the only thing fans got to freak out about during the Season 9 finale. Sam and Dean finally got over their issues with each other and shared a touching, heartfelt, brotherly moment only seconds before Dean "died," and Padalecki was happy to see Sam and Dean back in a good place with each other.

"It's nice. Being a father of boys and being a brother myself, I, Jared, don't love it when the brothers fight and when they're not on the same page," Padalecki says. "Sam sees Dean in this situation that Sam was in Season 4, so he's saying to his brother, 'Buddy, you had to help me off the edge five years ago and now you're doing the same thing. Open your eyes!' But that's something I understand. I know what it feels like to love somebody, a family member, and go, 'Listen, man, push through.' I've been there. I get it. It's kind of like what Dean said to Sam at the end of last season. 'Listen, there are other ways to do this, get off the ledge.' It's nice to play that."

Padalecki then adds, "I love the guy. I'll deny it if you ever mention it." (Oops, sorry, had to mention it ... )

Dean's not the only one of Team Free Will that's in a precarious position as we head into Season 10. Castiel is running on borrowed time with his stolen angel grace. "I don't know what Cas' fate is but I'm sure that his depleting grace is going to be a storyline that's playing out in Season 10," Collins says. "That's not a storyline that's resolved in Season 9."

  2. I dunno if the writers ever tried to do something like that, but that cliffhanger would it make easy for them to... like, drive a wedge between Sam and Dean, so that they have to spend about half the season away from each other and/or hating each other! Sam doesn't like demons, I believe, so that even feels like a true-to-character plot for Sam! But some time during the season, they should make a team of the brothers again. My guess is there will be some kind of mysterious cure, and for it to work they will have to work together!!

  3. Back in season 5 the brothers spent a while apart. And there is a cure for Demonism, they found it last year.

  4. Imo, the BEST possible way for them to handle it is keep Dean a demon until episode 200 where he is finally cured and then we are introduced to the baddie of the season. I doubt Dean will stay a demon for an entire season so I think it will feel right for that storyline to conclude in the show's 200th episode.

  6. I can't get over the number 200. This tiny little show on it's tiny little network is gonna hit 200 shows. I bet not a soul associated with the show in that first year ever imagined that... it's awesome!

  7. Well, I know Eric Kripke never thought it would have happened. He had five seasons planned out but he didn't even think it would last past two seasons, let alone now going into its TENTH season.

Supernatural continues to be the "little show that could" and I'm proud of it and I felt like Dean's line was the writers say it to the fans. Heck, that line itself made me shed a tear before Dean actually died.

Aww, Cas. Also, I hope they approach demon!Dean from EVERY angle possible. I want to know all there is.

Me too! I definitely don't want there to be some easy, quick resolution to this. This needs to be big, and the fuel behind the season. Both with Cas and Dean.

Tbh, I hope that in the first half we'll see Dean working with Crowley, and then we'll see Dean attempt to take out Crowley and become the new King. And in the second half of the season, it'll be Sam and Cas working together to stop Dean from sliding too far to the Dark Side. Hell (heh), maybe even Crowley joins forces with them, honestly scared of what Dean Winchester has become.

Is it wrong that I'm sort of hoping that Dean will team up with demon!Bela? Come on, that's a perfect opportunity! She could take over Hell if they get rid of Crowley!

  11. They'd probably have to recast Bela if they did that.
