  1. Off to a great start, managed to produce some genuine scares whilst keeping the focus on the characters. Simon is bad news! I feel terrible for Jem. Oh Kieren I just want you to be happy, the bit when he covered the mirror as he took of his make-up my heart broke.

  2. The scene where he took his mousse off in the bathroom, especially when he tried to take the towel down off the mirror but couldn't, was amazing, shows you exactly why he's up for the leading actor Bafta at such a young age!

Both Simon and Maxine are going to be, the former's mischief is pretty obvious but what exactly is the MP's secret? The toy train in her luggage made me think of a child she had maybe lost, but then again it was a pretty old fashioned not, say, a Thomas Tank Engine era one which would be more fitting for her age maybe?

  3. Seriously it was such a great moment, Luke did a terrific job in S1 with all the problems Kieren has and it seems he is once again out to break my heart on a weekly basis.

Maxine is an odd one and in a way I think her mission is similar to that of Simon's. That perhaps they both think Roarton was where the first Rising happened, now Maxine pretends to be all anti PDS what if shes trying to find out how they came back so she could bring back a lost child? I don't know its all creepy and mysterious so far.

  4. I also loved the easy banter scene between Kieren and Amy as he walked her home from Rik's grave, the two of them are just so natural together on screen it doesn't feel like they are saying lines at all, it was almost as if the camera was intruding on their personal time together. Another fav moment was Dad continuing the openness of how he felt towards Kieren, but instead of making it the most heart wrenching scene S1 ended with it was a much lighter/jokey moment XD

Yes, there's lots to wonder about her, like what's the reason why she left the village in the first place, the vicar certainly knew something about that, and who she really was, that seemed to concern her. Could there be a big twist that makes her the Prophet maybe, or are we just meant to believe what they are showing at present and that she is his opposite?

  5. I thought it was great. But what happened to that woman's cat?!

  6. Good question! Maybe the rabid to it? Have to say that the drill to the back of his head was probably the most gruesome thing the show has done so far. It's not really a typical zombie show when it comes to that kind of thing generally, it tends to be more about prejudices and exclusion, etc. so that was a bit of a surprise...and says a lot about Maxine's character I feel.

  7. I completely agree. I think this weeks episode was about as "zombiefied" as this show has gotten. That tram attack at the start caught me off guard as well. I mean I knew that they were going to do something, I just didn't imagine that.

  8. I'm not really a fan the zombie genre so I'm kinda hoping that this isn't something that is going to grow this season in many ways. I much prefer the deeper layers that this show has to offer, the Simon/Prophet v Maxine plot is far more interesting imo.

  9. ok ep, was amused about Kieren saying he was going to Europe (aka not GB :P)

  10. That's the shorthand for mainland Europe that the majority of people in the UK use, same as America is shorthand for the USA , people are lazy, lol. Plus it's not something I can see happening, it's only really there as a plot devise to accentuate what the Victus party is parodying :)

  11. Ah! I thought it was a subtle nod to the fact that stepping out of the EU is very popular opinion for politicians in the UK (and many other countries) at the moment. Guess I read to much into it ^_^

  12. It's not a popular opinion of politicians in the UK at all I'd say, there's only really one party that are vocal about it ;)

  13. I got that impression a while back when it was a lot in the news, but since it was in a period where I was only listening with half an ear to the news, I take full responsibility. ;)
How does it live under the people? I thought EU was (very) impopular in the UK?

  14. It's about half and half under the latest polls, I think the last one I saw (last week) was 48% want to either have big changes or leave altogether. This one party (UKip) are gaining a lot of support, mainly due to immigration, and are very noisy about it, esp as the European elections are later this month. They don't have any MP's in government though, only local councillors and European ministers at present. They are generally seen as a one policy party, and have had half of their MEP's sacked or resigned over scandals since the last European elections and have the worst records in Europe for turning up and voting on policies. Yet their support grows.

None of the three main parties in government particularly want to leave the EU, the business/money pros outway the cons they say, though two of them are making noises about referendums in the next few years in order to placate voters. They need to start showing people what these benefits are though, otherwise they won't get the result they want in the referendum, lol.
