  1. Yes, they will.

  2. Most likely, seems like they have a lot of pilots they want to order to series as well which doesn't help BATB case. Just because the minority is loud on the internet it doesn't mean a lot in the long term.

    Hope so!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yes, because vocal fans don't make them money, which means they don't care.

  5. Travis Crincoli27 April 2014 at 11:28

or they will most likely renew for a 6 episode final season like nikita.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I agree. The CW doesn't really care about the fans of 'unsuccesfull' shows. Remember The Secret Circle? Fans begged the channel to renew it and they just cancelled it.

    ReplyDelete
  7. i would want it to get a full order, but that is wishful thinking :)
it really depends on how many pilots the cw orders and whether HOD gets a full order or not - not sure if they definitely need the full 22 episodes for syndication. if they have 3 fall and 2 spring ones and HOD gets 22 episodes, then it will be cancelled or will get a 6 episode renewal like Nikita. if there are only 2 fall pilots then there is a chance for full renewal. i think it has better chances than starcrossed, the carrie diaries and TTP based on production costs, international sales and numbers of episodes. The 100 will definitely be renewed, but maybe only for 13 episodes.

  8. Hopefully, will miss it if they do.

  9. Yep!Vocal fanbase doesn't equal successful show.

well the international fans have brought a lot of money to the cbs studios // so they surely do count // not to mention the votes from not just polls but pcas as well

  11. It depends on what fails27 April 2014 at 12:35

    That's an obvious yes.

No ratings, no acclaim, just a rabid fanbase.

And which CW show does not have one? Their teenage appeal brings passionate fans, but in the end, the audience is what matters.

    ReplyDelete
  12. PCA means NOTHING, since the vote can be rigged. Moonlight won for best new drama and CBS still cancelled it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I had much rather they keep TTP, but don't think that will happen either.

    ReplyDelete
  14. the only thing i want to add to my previous comment is that websites like tvbythenumbers are never very accurate when it comes to cw renewals since with the cw ratings are just one of many factors. yes if a show pulls a 0.7 it will be renewed but for their lower rated shows they take into account a range of different factors, hence many of the prediction websites (who actually just base things purely on week by week ratings and nothing else) often fail to predict correctly. this specific website factors other things as well and they also have inside knowledge - they have only been wrong about the cw once in the past three years regarding the renewal of carrie diaries. they have made no other mistakes. this does not mean of course they are right this time, but i think it is very important when it comes to the cw to understand that they make their money in a range of ways

    http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2014/04/broadcast-tv-buzz-community-almost-human-the-menatlist-more/

since everyone here agrees that a fanbase is not a factor for renewal, then if the show does get renewed it is because it is making more money to the cw than the cancelled series and not because of the nielsen ratings

I've generally been thinking that they want iZombie to replace BATB. A supernatural/Sci-fi police procedural with (as far as we know) only minor romance. It's pretty much the inverse of BATB (which is low in procedural and high in romance).

Yes, hells yes. Don't think I could take a third season of #VinCat4Eva.

  17. It depends on what fails27 April 2014 at 13:03

Never accurate? They missed on Carrie Diaries last season, but everyone did. STV cancelation table probably predicted it too. 2012 was a bizarre year where CW finished the season with 4 bubble shows, they canceled Secret Circle, renewed Gossip Girl for a final season and renewed Nikita and HOD. Also, CW only renewed 3 shows earlier in both years, this year, they already have 5 guaranteed.

I know TCD had good numbers on hulu and among younger demos, BATB has the international sales to help it, but in the end, they threw it on fridays, if CW wants to put something there, they'll go with Hart of Dixie (full season or not) or even a new show (unlikely) like Reign or The 100.

Considering the entire lineup, the only ones BATB has an advantage are Star Crossed (lol at renewing a 13 episode show that scores 0.3) and maybe TCD because there are 44 episodes for BATB against 26.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It would be great for the fans, but I think it's a really a long shot. The ratings are outright misserable even for the CW (0.3s and even a 0.2 on a non Friday night) and it has no critical acclaim whatsoever. Its only fighting chance might be if it pulls off an online viewing save as The Carrie Diaries did last season, but I don't know those numbers so I can't really say it would save it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, duh.
They wouldn't have tossed the show into the summer shredder if they still had plans for a renewal.

The only possible chances this show has is a.) it's renewed for a mini season like Nikita or b.) it does well this summer and is renewed for a shortened summer season to see wether fictional summer programming actually is worth a shot for theCW.

Both of these chances are highly unlikely though.
I feel bad for the shows fans but remember: the original show with Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton only made it up to season 3.

I would love to see renewed I love this show. Sorry the zombie apocalyptic stuff for the teenager 20 somethings doesnt cut it for me. I j u st think moving the schedule around and not marketing it to the correct audience didnt help. Theres not a show on cw that I will watch now. I guess I can pray some miracle will happen. The actors are great . Love to tbem all #BATB!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Or they will renew the show for spring summer for 6-13 ep

    ReplyDelete
  22. with tvbythenumbers, with the cw they get it wrong every year. they never get it totally right is what i said. and that is because they base their stuff purely on ratings and the cw is a different type of story. i also think that BATB has an advantage over TTP since it has been proven that they have done as bad as BATB on a monday, are more expensive to produce, have fewer episdoes and fewer international deals. having said that, i am not saying BATB will be renewed. if HOD and the 100 get both 22 episodes and there are three new fall shows there is no space for beauty but if HOD gets a reduced order and the 100 get 13 episodes as a midseason show i feel that BATB has a chance for a 13 episode renewal most likely.

  23. Christopher DeBono27 April 2014 at 13:32

"And which CW show does not have this kind of fanbase"

    Hart of Dixie?

    ReplyDelete
  24. The only reason I have heard that they MIGHT renew it is because it is produced by CBS and all their other shows are from the WB. But that is a really weak reason to renew, especially since, as I understand it, CBS and the Warner Brothers share profits on all shows on the CW, regardless of who produces it. I think Supernatural is the one exception because it came over from the WB and was developed by Warner Brothers on their own. I suspect Warner Brothers has a warm place in their hearts for Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  25. But I guess The Carrie Diaries could be cheaper than Beauty & The Beast, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One can only hope...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't think they'll renew it, it doesn't seem cheap to produce and the ratings are bad even for a Monday. The "beasties" said they'd be there but almost half a million left btw season 1 finale and season 2. Those who think that they could give 6 episodes finale are wrong because Nikita got it for syndication purposes (67 episodes at the end of season 3), BaTB is two season away from syndication.
They will renew Hart of Dixie and The 100. Then I think they'll cancel everything left. (my poor Carrie Diaries :'( )

    ReplyDelete
  28. The fans of Ringer did it too, it went on Times Square but didn't get renewed

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hope BATB gets renewed for a summer season is fine by me, better than nothing. Everything is speculation right now, we won't know for sure until May before the UpFronts, so it's not over til it's over!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Since when do vocal fanbases decide if something gets canceled? It's all about the money not the loudest fandom.

    ReplyDelete
  31. There are two reasons why a network will consider keeping a show on: (i) loads of viewers and (ii) critic appraisal. Beauty and the Beast is very far from qualifying in either one of those categories, so, yes, it will be canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  32. EuphemiaWonderland27 April 2014 at 16:32

I can't believe yes is winning. I guess the BatB fans haven't post this on twitter yet. Personally they should cancel it. It's their lowest rated show and the ratings are going to get even worse next season. Also the fans were dumb enough to root against their lead in when a good lead in could have actually helped the show. I have never seen fans acting that stupid.

Also I can't stand another year with the stupid hashtags.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Pérola Cardozo Alves27 April 2014 at 16:33

Most likely they wll send BATB to the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, they will. I like the show, but it's too far gone. Getting moved to a summer run basically = burn off of the episodes left.

    ReplyDelete
  35. My guess, probably. I would be surprised if this got renewed. I'm also thinking Bitten will be canceled, as well, unless Space saves it, it did terrible in the US ratings. I don't think fans get much of a say anymore. If a network doesn't make money off a show, they will cancel it, no matter how much fans beg them not to.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Very possible "yes" is winning because BatB fans have a button-pushing reflexes on "yes" and "BatB" words , they don't even read what the question is.
And yes, hash tags everywhere for another year - no can do.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I definitely hope so, if only to stop reading extremly stupid fandom comments. And the worst thing is that I do watch the show and if it wasn¿t for the fandmon I would have liked it to be renewed. Beasties ruined this one for me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hart Of Dixie will get 22 episodes, to get the series to 88 episodes, which is the magic number for syndication. Final season most likely.

    ReplyDelete
  39. fans don't matter to networks [it won a People's choice award for Pete's sake!!], they only know NUMBERS!! Nevermind that it's a quality show, that doesn't seem to matter

    ReplyDelete
  40. Chandler Marlowe27 April 2014 at 17:47

Leverage won a People's Choice Award a month AFTER it was cancelled. So, yeah it doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It could also be that they can not vote but one time here, so can't pack the voting.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Quality:

    of or having superior quality

producing or providing products or services of high quality or merit:

    ReplyDelete
  43. This was the only reason I thought BatB had a shot as well, but then they renewed Reign, the other CBS show on the CW. I figured it was between the two of them and CBS chose Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Pulled from the schedule and summer burn-off says yes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I still miss Mick and Beth *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  46. Abraham Hernandez27 April 2014 at 20:32

I think they'll renew it for a short third season (13 episodes) just to please the fans, but... it'll either be placed on a tougher time slot (Fridays at 9pm) or save for a summer run.

As I write this, I must note that I'm not a fan of this show, but realize that the CW is owned by both CBS and Warner Bros. and therefore needs to save some CBS produced shows such as BATB.

The majority of the already renewed shows belong to Warner Bros. (Supernatural, The Originals, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries) and only one from CBS (Reign).

    ReplyDelete
  47. Christina Sherwood27 April 2014 at 20:41

I watch both & am very disappointed by the direction both shows took this year, I would much rather see both of them get the axe & keep order a full season of The 100 next season.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was under the impression it was already canceled, because of its airing schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The CW UpFronts are on May 15, 2014 in the morning, by this time we will know for sure if Beauty and the Beast is cancelled or renewed. The last six episodes of season 2 airing starting June 2, 2014 have nothing to do with the cancellation or renewal of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  50. And even if they renew it, it would be for a limited final season. I mean, the writers know the possibilities, and by the way, the were writing episode 2.20 just a couple weeks ago, so...

    ReplyDelete
  51. There is no practical and business sense in short final season. No one will benefit from it. It either will be renewed for full, may be summer, season which going to pull it closer to syndication, or cancel it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The last 6 eps airing in summer after upfronts has everything to do with cancelation/renewal. It is a timeout for writers to wrap series up. At least this is only explanation I can come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Everything is just speculation right now, we won't know for sure as I stated above until around the time of the UpFronts.

    ReplyDelete
  54. EuphemiaWonderland27 April 2014 at 22:43

Exactly. I think The CW wanted to give the writers time so they could come up with a proper ending and maybe the backlash wouldn't be so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Carole Ann Bollinger27 April 2014 at 23:36

Heck no they better not cancel BATB

    ReplyDelete
  56. i'm still heartbroken over that:( i had hope for like two years Josef would get his own show lol

    ReplyDelete
  57. I know and he had great chemistry with Beth, even more than Mick did. When she went to him about killing the reporter, it was HOT. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is he in a show yet? He's much too talented not to be headlining his own show.

    ReplyDelete
  59. And the original series was to the power of a logarithm, so much better than this muck. That was a romance of love defeating deformity and a society created by George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones). This is a pretty boy with a tiny scar, that they took away, with anger management issues.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Carole Ann Bollinger28 April 2014 at 01:54

It matters to the fans who watch BATB since they voted really heard last year and this year. So they won Favorite New TV Drama and they won again this year as well.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I realy hope Hart of Dixie get 22 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Carole Ann Bollinger28 April 2014 at 01:57

    Renew BATB please :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. If they made it so people could only vote once the show would've never had won anything. The People's Choice Awards are rigged for fans that have nothing better to do then vote dozens of times without stopping.

    ReplyDelete
  64. With the stock of new shows they have greenlit or in development, I dont see a future for this show, Carrie Diaries or Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sleeping Beauty was the best episode from the brief series.

    ReplyDelete
  66. You do know BATB international numbers are still less than the most CW shows. beasties are using international vs US to make the show seem bigger than what it is, just like the multiple voting on most polls. bottom line if it was as great as what it was it would have been picked up when TO, Arrow, TVD and others were picked up. don't get miss lead by the false numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  67. they are putting a lot behind the flash series.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yup... the numbers just don't hold up.
Aaand I also know from an inside source that things aren't looking good...

    ReplyDelete
  69. to high in romance, it blankets the main storyline and makes it hard to follow IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  70. just means to many beasties with to much free time.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Just because it matters to you does not give it a automatic renewal they go by the major numbers, also every one knows the TPCA are rigged or flawed so multiple voting can be done.

    ReplyDelete
  72. lot of money it might seem but i bet its not close as much as the other shows. low us show = international money, bigger us show = a lot more international money, economics and marketing, they shop the top shows more.

    ReplyDelete
  73. If they do cancel it, there is an upside and a downside.
Downside: we will miss the show (or at least what it used to be and what it could have been)
Upside: we will most likely see Jay Ryan get a new tv gig. I mean, who wouldn't want that?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Will the show make the network money? If not, what's the point for the network? (sadly)

    ReplyDelete
  75. That's interesting, I didn't know about that!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I fear Yes but hope for NO

    ReplyDelete
  77. Despoina Lampridou28 April 2014 at 07:40

yeah but the sales do count , right ?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Despoina Lampridou28 April 2014 at 07:41

thank you for explaining -- i'm only assuming 'cause i don't know how it works

    ReplyDelete
  79. Cátia Barradas28 April 2014 at 09:49

I´m still hopping :) For me could be a summer show, CW don´t have nothing interesting to see in summer, so it will be a good bet i belive. So still hopping !

    ReplyDelete
  80. No. Nikita had syndication deal in the play. BATB doesn't.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You mean Star Crossed? That show sucks, the leads are not talented at all, the acting is horrible! And that girl is like a diluted version of Nina Dobrev.... we already have an amazing Nina Dobrev no need for a wannabe on the same freaking network. I personally don't see how the fans of Beauty and the beast could have ever liked that show... lol..... aliens...
But Beauty and the bast will be cancelled... so will Star Crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I think they'll give it another season or maybe just 13 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  83. EuphemiaWonderland28 April 2014 at 13:49

I never watched Star-Crossed because the promos looked terrible. But that doesn't matter. It was BatB lead in and the BatB fans decided to root against the show's lead in. They asked everyone on twitter not to watch SC. That's one of the most stupid things I have ever seen a fanbase do. If SC had done better BatB could have risen.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think HoD has an older audience than most of the other shows. They are not online voting or involved in social media.

    ReplyDelete
  85. There was absolutely no way it could have done better. That show is horrible, besides the plot, that girl can never hold an entire show together... the only shining star is Malese Jow the rest have no personality.... maybe if they had paired it with The Tomorrow People or Vampire Diaries... Just maybe. I have no idea how people with TV experience let such a show even air. This is actually disappointing especially since the CW creates genius like Supernatural and Arrow and The Vampire Diaries (in it's fresh days) then there's... Star Crossed.... Such a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I watched season 1 just because it followed TVD for that year. Once it moved I lost interest. I think that was the power of the lead in.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I could say the same exact thing about BatB and their cast. I personally love the social aspects of Star Crossed. I'm sure it won't be renewed but I am not going to tell anyone to not watch BATB in hopes that SC would beat it. That is one of the reasons people are tired of the fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I really don't care about the fan base... I care about the talent and the writing. Star Crossed has neither and Beauty and the Beast only has a good cast. Either way not enough to hold a show.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Travis Crincoli28 April 2014 at 14:31

then they will give them 6 episodes as a mercy flush. Chuck season 5 only gave the fans a sendoff they wanted and it was only a half-season.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I had 6 eps of SC on my hopper and this weekend decided to watch them, was very surprised at how much I liked it. Not crazy about the female lead as I do think she is trying to hard to be Nina, but the rest of the cast is very good. And I do like the can't we all just get along tone of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ângela M Gonçalves28 April 2014 at 15:04

I think CW doesn't care about fans or anything, but I hope that BatB will have season 3, because I love that show. #VinCat forever.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Blasphemy! Star Crossed is surprisingly a great show, well crafted and it's been getting great reviews. It was terribly promoted by the CW, they chose to promote it as their usual teen romance, when Star Crossed has a lot more to offer. I was decided to hate the show and now I find myself enjoying it while it lasts because it's really good, especially for a CW show. The political aspects of it are great to watch, for example. I'm calling BS on your comment, sorry, it sounds like you didn't even watch an episode.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Opinions differ. There actually is a lot of teen romance... 3 couples and counting. I don't know what else exactly it has to offer but... lol... Okay then... lol

    ReplyDelete
  94. This web site is biased everything it post is against batb, how about you take BATB out your mouth already it's pathetic. I can't wait till it gets renewed so all the haters can choke on it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I know one thing. Whether Batb is cancelled or renewed, in either scenario, the rest of the internet users will find a way to mock the beasties. Just when I thought people finally have something else to talk about, this poll comes up :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Really, still hopping. My god, you're a Red Dwarf joke.

    ReplyDelete
  97. The figures are very damning, that's for sure. Going by that alone, it will probably get cancelled. I guess I'm still hopeful as I know it was kind of a pet project for Mark Pedowitz, the president of the CW. What can I say? I'm in denial… If only Showcase here in Canada would pick it up, at least they advertise it to some degree, something the CW has never done.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yes, its funny that certain people always criticize the Beasties for voting and voting and voting and being active on twitter and winning polls, yet some of the people that post on sites seem to spend a lot of their time sending hate to the Beasties and expressing their nasty opinions. Why is really what I can't figure out.

    ReplyDelete
  99. LMAO @ "No" winning this poll. Apparently, rabid fans are still under the impression that voting for BatB en masse on every damn poll on the internet affects their show's survival chances. I can only imagine what these people are going to do when the show most likely gets cancelled. #Noooooooooooo!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Cátia Barradas30 April 2014 at 09:50

I really don´t get your point and don´t get you people, don´t understand your problem with BATB, but it´s ok. I hope some day you be happy ....

    ReplyDelete
  101. if they renew, it means they are making money

    ReplyDelete
  102. enough to cover the cost of producing and filming the episodes? doesn't seem like competitors aren't exactly lining up to run advertisements during a BatB episode.

    ReplyDelete
  103. you mean advertisers
yes i am not saying it will get renewed i am saying if it did it would not be for charitable purposes

    ReplyDelete
  104. Well, I think that the producers could consider the fans opinions, but also the writers need do a better work season 3 (if it happen).

    ReplyDelete
  105. Why would they cancel a show that is doing so well?? Just don't understand the logic. Maybe I will stop watching new series and start watching sports instead. They always come back and thee is no worry of getting caught up in the games and having them cancelled..

    ReplyDelete
  106. As for international sales: In Germany they put BATB on Friday night right from the beginning, and even moved it to the midnight slot during first season.

Friday, midnight, guess where targeted women between 18 to 34 are? Not at home watching TV but out partying and clubbing.

As for Germany BATB tanked it, sorry.
