The 100 - Episode 5 - Preview: The clock is ticking to save hundreds of lives

In this week's episode of The 100, a race against the clock starts when the 100 realize that hundreds of people will die if they won't be able to communicate with the Ark.

As you seen from last week's episode, Raven has launched her pod. [SPOILER ALERT] As you can see from the promo, she survived the landing on Earth. She quickly realizes that they need to make contact with the Ark because of the upcoming population reduction plan. However, the radio from the pod is taken and subsequently destroyed by another human (whether one of the 100 or a Grounder). This makes communication with the Ark virtually impossible. Fortunately, one character says: "We do not have to communicate with the Ark. We just have to let them know we're down here." And so the 100 reunite and work as fast as they can to show the Ark that they are alive and well. The clock is ticking to save hundreds of lives.

On board the Ark, everyone is getting ready for the population reduction. The plan is to exile 320 people to Section 17 and cut of the oxygen while they're asleep. However, things don't go as they should when the plan is exposed. The question is: what will be the consequences on the Ark? Will people accept the situation as it is or will the entire population go on a riot as feared by the Counsil? You are going to have to wait and see for yourself.

The episode is really all about the population reduction. There is not a lot of time for anything else, including a love triangle. Yes, there are a few references about the trio Clarke/Raven/Finn, but nothing really significant. I think all three of them realize that there is much more at stake. When hundreds of lives are in danger, no time should be wasted on talking and/or fighting about your relationship.

Here are some teasers:
-A key character is willing to be at Section 17 when the air is cut off, essentially sacrificing him or herself.
-Somebody is taken by a Grounder.
-We will see Clarke's late father Jake again. Has he miraculously survived his floating, or is there something else going on?
-I think you might like Kane a bit more after this episode. At least, he is lighting up a bit and plays an important role in this episode.
-We will soon learn Abby's fate in the wake of Raven's launch to Earth.

The fifth episode of The 100 airs this Wednesday, 9|8c, on The CW. Watch the promo for the episode below.

The population reduction thing sounds terrifying. My guess is that Abby is the one that volunteers.

I'm glad the love triangle won't get that much focus and it seems it will only last two episodes.

  2. Nice preview! Are we getting more intense Bellamy and Clarke scenes? Are you allowed to say? Do they have a good amount of scenes together? Seems like their dynamic is what the fans are really interested in. :)

  3. Hmm, you would hope that the love triangle doesn't get much attention in future episode, but it looks like it will.

  4. It IS terrifying. Would be an awful choice to make.

  5. Thank you! There are certainly scenes between the two of them and they have a pretty big argument, leading to an intense scene!

  6. Thanks for the response, Daniel! :) Sounds very interesting! I just love the Bellarke scenes. Their scenes are always so good! Hmmm. Another huge argument? Wait, do you mean the scene from the promo where she tells him that 300 people will die because of him? Or is there another intense argument? :)

Really? Eliza said romance won't be the main focus and it seems the truth comes out in episode 6 about what happened between Finn and Clarke.

  8. All Ark scenes are flashback in this episode

  9. Actually, I would say it comes out on this episode at least for Clarke but Raven will notice their connection next week. I just wish it was Wednesday already.

  10. She is right, romance isn't the MAIN focus, but we will see some tension b/w the three.

  11. I hope we get to see more with Jasper and Octavia I really enjoyed them last week.

  12. Lots of people are finding Finn to be beyond boring. I just don't want to see a Clarke/Finn/Raven triangle at all. Two girls fighting over a man who is just so boring, in my opinion.

  13. Those Teasers will happen or probably will?

I just hope Clarke gives them space. I agree that Finn is very boring but I really like Raven.

  15. -A key character is willing to be at Section 17 when the air is cutt off, essentially sacrificing him or herself. [Jaha]

-Somebody is taken by a Grounder. [Octavia if they followed the book]

-We will see Clarke's late father Jake again. Has he miraculously survived his floating, or is there something else going on? [Maybe one of the grounders looks like him but isnt him]

-I think you might like Kane a bit more after this episode. At least, he is lighting up a bit and plays an important role in this episode. [I love the actor and he was the main reason for watching this show and hope to see a different side to him. My theory is that he was/is in love/relationship with abby and was the one that issued the arrest on her husband.]

  16. Jimmy, that's in episode six. The scenes on the Ark in episode five are really in the present.

  17. Crap haha, you're right, I'm a week ahead of myself

  18. Is he already watched the episode? o.o
    sorry i'm layman about previews

  19. Yes, SpoilerTV has received screeners of the first six episode of The 100. We write our previews (and reviews, for that matter) based on these screeners.

  20. "Somebody is taken by a Grounder." means caught?

  21. That is exactly what it means.

I love the actor who plays Kane too but if Abby was cheating my guess is that it was with Jaha and not Kane. I like the theory about Kane having a son/daughter and nobody knows about it.

  23. Imagine if their love child is murphy 😂

"The plan is to exile 320 people to Section 17 and cut of the oxygen while they're asleep." They took this from the books, not exactly the same but pretty damn close

Finally some new episodes for me =)

  25. Thank you for the preview. Can't wait for episode 5:D

  26. Oh you're talking about the flashbacks of Bellamy and Octavia's childhood? Yeah, that's episode 6 I wonder if we'll see any of the 100 show up in their flashbacks as well next week. I wish I could go to Wonder Con and watch the screeners for episode 6 and 7 but looks like that's not going to happen.

  27. I can't wait until tonight and I know it's going to be a great episode I just wish we had 23 episodes this season instead of 13 doesn't seem like it's enough.
