  1. OMG! How could they just end it right there??? Everyone was right, it was Malcolm. I did NOT see that ending coming. Poor Philip. And now we won't know what happens to Rachel unless we get season two. The entire ep was awesome. I want another season!

  2. Awesome episode !!!!

  4. gave it a great, not quite awesome due to the jumpy writing and the somewhat bad acting by Santos, but the fight sequences were pretty well done and I was about to wonder why the pack didn't try to even the odds since they were outnumbered by using some guns or knives, but I'm guessing from the Elena/serial killer fight scene that wolves don't fight with weapons out of honor or something like that. I get that the house and property are supposed to be large, but you'd think that Jeremy would detect the scent of his father in the house. At least the pack gained a member, but if Logan does indeed leave (I'm guessing that he wont now) they lose one... granted I get that Jeremy's father is a tool, and liked tormenting his son and the pack, but if his ultimate goal was to get Elena, he could have taken her plenty of times in Toronto and then attacked the pack... but wouldn't have made for a decent season of watching of course... bummer for Phillip - I am wondering why Jeremy's father did that other than to get a reaction from Elena, but at least the triangle is over and done with... I hope that there is another season as I'd like to find out how things work out from here

  5. I think for the limited time they had to film all this, they did an amazing job. I really think if they had been given 22 eps, the writing wouldn't have been as sloppy. They just had to squeeze it all in to the 13. I hope if we get season two that it will be a full season.

    ReplyDelete
  6. actually dragging things out over large seasons, like a 22, tends to lead to even more sloppy and stagnate writing with more filler. shorter seasons actually tend to make things more focused and tight with good writers. having more time to dick around doesn't mean better writring if the writers are not good to begin with.

  7. I'm Sorry But, Haha, Phillip's dead>Yay!< even tho he was gone since last episode for good. I feel like I deserved this for the lack of wolf fighting. Thank you.

Again lack of wolf fighting was a negative. But looking at just the human fighting that it self was great. Plenty of action for everyone. Tho, again if they knew(they do know changing takes some time) they would have to fight in human form since they are almost here, they might as well prepared 1) projectile weapons such as crossbows for invasion, as they would for sure stop wolves vs guns. or 2) shift in advance and wait and rip off heads. But I think I'm don't complain about lack of wolf from now if it continues.I don't know maybe I might still. idk

Also again the damn humans proved to be a bother this episode. Seems like we traded Phillip for Rachel, who instead of hiding in a place told twice decides to run...(if what that mutt said was true).

    Back to some good stuff.
I was wondering before why someone like Malcolm who even Jeremy feared would end up killed by measly mutts, or Santos for that matter. Cuz Santos was the dumbest character ever. Wasn't capable of anything. Then some dude named James Williams came and we saw he was controlling Santos, and I went "OH, that's why his plan is still working, its not his plan..."
And the moment James Williams just kept on walking in the house(after the fact he said he knew secrets of the house) I guess this dude is Malcolm. That was a good twist tho. And my guess as to what was in that bag was 1) torture tool, since these damn wolves love it so much to do things humans do. 2) Some magic tools a necromancer would use then 3) after he revealed his secret that he was Malcom I knew right then It was a Head. (like why else would the fool go deep in the house, say he wants Elena, meet with Phillip in the early episode, and know everything about Elena). So yea That was a good set up for the next season. (kinda makes them still deal with the wolf stuff more rather then venturing off in to the other creature stuff right away).

Last and the Best part of it all was Elena and Clay finally Together, and Clay getting the respect he deserves. I look forward to them Tracking, maybe that it self leads them to new mysteries.

Finally: I accept a lot of new mythology, new reasons as to why one person in perpendicular is special and all that. But unless they tell me something else like Elena is some Moon Queen descendant of the First Werewolf or something different and special like that; I'm having a hard time believing why Elena is so much more just because she is the only Female Werewolf. Explain this better book people or show.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I only read the first book, and I don't know where they are going with why Elena is special. I don't know how they will address that if we get season two.

I did want real wolf fights. That was the only downer for me. I hope if we get more seasons, they will give us some real wolf fights.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think they're just saying Elena is special because she is able to breed pure werewolves. Like she is one so her children won't just be half werewolves and so she can possibly can give birth to more female werewolves and a pure race of werewolves or something. And the second part is of course because she survived being bitten. We got to know that women aren't as strong and so it's clear that she is special cause she survived.

  10. The siege was epic! The pack went all BAMF on the mutts and went on with their day looking as pretty as ever...seriously...that is a sexy cast, lol.

I wasn't surprised Malcolm was running the show, and I wouldn't be surprised if his intent is to rule the wolves with Elena breeding purebred wolf pups like Santos alluded to wanting to do himself. He claimed he didn't want alpha status, but...come on now. My theory is this...pure werewolves are the stuff of myths and a litter of them would be all the army anybody needs...and you only need an army if you intend to fight for supremacy. Elena was given an opportunity to jump ship of her own free will and refused, so now Malcolm is trying to sink her ship so she has to hop into his raft. I legit thought he brought a bomb to a fistfight with that bag, so I was relieved it was just Philip's head...which makes it sound like I didn't like Philip, but that isn't the case. It's not like I thought Elena would go back to him after this, I just like having the door on a triangle definitively closed...which so rarely happens on shows these days.

Rachel...she is quickly becoming an annoyance to the point where I want Logan to take the baby and ditch her. Did she really try to guilt Logan for going to help his family? Maybe if her point had been that if he'd given her a head's up she could have been on her guard, but it wasn't. Her point was that she was more important, screw the pack. And then she thought it was a good idea to go running through the woods when she had just been chased out of them by a wolf (btw how awesome was that ax throw?) and knew that wolf had company. At least if a mutt had found her in the house, someone might have heard her scream. I get being scared out of your mind, but she was being foolish. Side note: how'd she even get out of the house? The fighting was soooo widespread and I could have sworn all the entrances were covered.

All in all I really enjoyed the episode. Jeremy's story about Nick's mom was sweet and Elena seemed so much more natural (honest with herself?) being protective of Clay than she did trying to belong in Toronto.

REALLY happy this show is doing so well in Canada because I want my season 2 like NOW, but I'll settle for whenever it returns lol. I'm saying that like it definitely is because I believe in the power of positive thinking!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yea I get the pure breed part which I guessed after Santos kept spouting his wacky love at her. But if its just that, then that's not much. They could do so much more if they gave her a better supernatural back story.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yea, the amount of lack of werewolf fight is a constant downer for me too. Every Episode I just get pissed. And I think I'll keep watching for the mythology. There is no Mythology. I'm just watching it now cuz I rarely drop shows. And I still like the characters and I can still watch for the mystery value, whether it be murder mystery or who stole my girlfriend and why.

    ReplyDelete
  13. HOLY CRAP! Phillip! I would not be able to sleep in that bed after. I'm thinking that one of two scenarios could happen with Rachel. One she dies before they can get her back, or, the baby dies and they get her back. I still don't get how she got past them. Overall I really liked this episode. Tons of action and the pacing was great.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have that exact same question regarding Rachel. How the heck did she get out???

    ReplyDelete
  15. How are the ratings for this show anyway? I can't ever find any numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  16. http://stvplus.com/show/397/Bitten and click the "chart" icons on the right.
I'm pretty sure (maybe an admin can confirm it?) that those are the ratings for Syfy airings in the US, not Space.

  17. Kinda disappointed that jeremy just let malcolm go, should have tried to make a move.

Such an amazingly perfect episode.. The pack showed everybody why they never lose - they work together and are friggin hard core bad asses! It didnt take any effort to kill the mutts.. As for Malcolm wanting Elena.. please Clay would kill him with a flick of his wrist.

I hope we get a second season, I want the Clay/Elena fluffiness to continue! I love it when a couple you know has to be together.. is together. You don't have to keep them apart for there to be drama.

    Sucks for Phillip.

    ReplyDelete
  19. OMG at that ending, holy crap! I really hope it gets renewed. I really didn't think this show would be that great in the beginning, Since many werewolf related tv/films tend to be meh, to just plain awful. I went into this show with low expectations, This show has pleasantly surprised me episode by episode. I can not believe how epic this show is!

And the CGI wolves, while not being like the quality you find in Hollywood, I found them to be quite amazing for a tv show. For the most part the movement seemed quite natural and well done.

I am very impressed, fantastic job show!

    ReplyDelete
  20. That was a good finale, but if they renew the show, I hope that the plot does not solely revolve around the pack wars, or the Clay/Elena relationship (which I still find somewhat creepy). I think that the human characters in the show (like Philip and Rachel), make it more interesting, so I hope that they continue to have a few central human characters, even with Philip out of the picture. Poor Phillip... Even though he and Elena were not meant to be, I really liked him.

Yay, for Logan returning to help the pack, although I couldn't help feeling sorry for Rachel, whose life has been completely turned upside down. Also, I was annoyed with Jeremy for letting Malcolm go, knowing that Rachel had gone missing, Anyway, I hope we get to see more of Logan and Nick next season, because I think they both have interesting stories and back stories. And Jeremy needs to redefine the "pack laws", or else the only people left in his pack will be Clay and Elena. Overall, this was a great first season, and I hope it gets renewed!

    ReplyDelete
  21. The hiding spot for Rachel clearly didn't work because one of the mutts had no problem finding her. I'm guessing that's why she ran.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think he had to go into the house to find her. The creepy assistant guy said at the end he found her running across the field. So i think it did work, just that she going out in the open is the reason she was caught.

  23. wow amazing episode. love the series.was not sure at the beginning, but kept watching. end end was awesome! hope it comes back

    #RenewBitten!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. I think Elena being able to have werewolf children is really important all on its own. It would double the size of any future pack because of the possibility of female wolves. Plus those first generation female werewolves would go on to have more wolves of their own ... and so it goes. Just because Elena is the first female to survive being bitten, it doesn't mean she can ever be the only one.

I could also see a class warfare amost future packs involving the wolf children. Were one or both of the parents bitten, or were both parents born wolves? Would the children of parent(s) who were bitten be considered a secondary class to the children of naturally born wolves? That is a situation that is many years from happening though and wouldn't be addressed unless the show takes a jump in the timeline.

    ReplyDelete
  26. yeah, that was a great bit of misogyny (along with other creepy themes) that were in the book also, women are weak and not strong enough.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I really liked Phillip too. The main reason why I didn't want to see anything bad happen to him is because of how it would affect Elena. She will undoubtedly blame herself for Phillip's death. That in turn could have a negative impact on Elena's relationship with Clay. She may feel she isn't worthy of happiness because of the danger she brought into Phillip's life.

  28. yep... Logan then Nick told that heffer to stay put... but noooooooooooo....

    ReplyDelete
  29. glad i'm not the only one's nerves shes getting on...

    ReplyDelete
  30. One of the other mutts found her first, but Nick saved her. So if I were in her shoes, I would assume that the hiding place wasn't that safe after all.The second mutt found her running outside.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Heffer? That's such a derogatory term for a character who doesn't really merit it. Actually no female merits it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is my biggest issue with the show....the perpetual misogynistic viewpoint among both the pack and the mutts. I'm guessing that the original book is even more misogynistic and the producers have tried to incorporate changes that make it less so. For example, fabricating a reason for why Clay bit Elena was a smart move, given that it made it seem less like a possessive move on his part. Or having Logan put Rachel before the pack and refuse to let them take away her baby.

    ReplyDelete
  33. you know that never crossed my mind... about the breeding...

I was sitting on the edge of the sofa.. about to have a fit....and hated when the ep. was over... this show has me hooked.. I bought the books Friday..

    ReplyDelete
  34. It hasn't really been shown in the tv show but the thing with Philips head was typical Malcolm Danvers—he's a sadistic, scheming little shit. As long as Philip was useful to him, he lived. As soon as he was no longer of use—he died. Philip had seen the video of the wolves and knew what they were... and before being expelled from the Pack Malcolm was the member who took care of 'problems' like that, silencing them forever.

I think it was a brilliant twist—because Phillip told Dianne that his being stabbed had something to do with Elena and the trouble her family was in, so of course when he goes missing she will open her big mouth and tell her mother it involves Elena. There's no way the McAdams women are going to let his disappearance go, which will end up making more complications for the Pack in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wonder if Jeremy's dear ole dad will end up biting Rachel... trying to turn her....

    ReplyDelete
  36. ****SPOILERS****

You don't find out about Elena's bloodline until later in the series of books... WAY later, and it's just hinted at because it's something I believe Kelley is going to cover later with Elena and Clay's daughter, Katherine who shows all the signs of being a hereditary werewolf.

A while back I made a post with actual quotes from the book about this and a little theorizing of my own—it can be found at http://lupasolus.tumblr.com/post/79671100881/muns-personal-theory-head-canonish-thing

    ReplyDelete
  37. If you read the short story 'Beginnings' which details the actual events surrounding the bite, you'd see it wasn't a possessive act at all—it was pure animal instinct. The logical part of his mind tried to fight against the animals urge to protect his mate and keep her near, but the wolf was just too strong because he is more wolf than man.

    ReplyDelete
  38. In my opinion she should be feeling more guilt over Peter and Antonio's deaths than Philips. After all, they were her 'family' for years and she'd only known him for less than a year. And their deaths are partially her fault—the entire Mutt uprising hinged on the fact she ran away from Stonehaven, weakening the pack and not fulfilling her obligations. I kind of hope Nick puts two and two together and realizes that cause it would make for some epic angst between those two.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm thinking it wouldn't have many any difference if Elena stayed at Stonehaven or moved to the city. The reason why Jeremy's pack was attacked was because Macomb wanted Elena and was willing to do whatever it took to get her regardless of where she was living. Actually, if blame can be placed for Elena moving away from Stonehaven, it's placed on Jeremy because he was the one who forced Clay to keep the secret from Elena as to why Clay bit her in the first place. It was Elena's feeling of resentment towards Clay that really drove her from Stonehaven.

    ReplyDelete
  40. in the end when she was their they were able to protect her. now she is not there, they don't know where to go to help her.

    ReplyDelete
  41. ^ yea I got all that already from her being able to breed both gender of wolves. It would be a given if both parents have something in their genes that make them different the offspring will inherit that.

I also doubt the post baby aspect would be explored like how you imagine, but that's not to say it would play out that way in the off screen continuity.

    ReplyDelete
  42. right, like end it right there. I'm sure in the future he will have that view point again, the I'm gonna finish this once and for all, me or him time to decide. much like he did it with that hunter wolf some episodes ago.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Actually, she lived at Stonehaven for years after the bite and was happy quite a bit of the time—as indicated in the picture of them that Logan has where she is sitting next to Clay and smiling, with her hand on his leg. Yes, she still had festering resentment towards Clay, but that wasn't why she ran. She left because of the incident with Jose Carter—(book canon and I believe it was also eluded to in the show in the episode where she had the flashback) she felt like she was losing her humanity and becoming a cold blooded killer.

Malcolm wanted Elena, yes—but he also wanted revenge on the Pack and to bring them down. I used the phrase 'hinged on the fact' in my prior comment when perhaps I should have said was 'partially because'. (Sorry I just woke up and have a headache so my thoughts are a bit muddled today.)

If she had remained at Stonehaven patrolling the Mutts and taking them out when they stepped out of line, they would have been more hesitant to band together. But I do agree, a large portion of the blame can be laid at Jeremy's feet, at least 'show wise'.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You're right, I forgot to factor in Carter which probably was the main factor in Elena leaving Stonehaven because she felt like she was losing her humanity.

Yes, those stats are according to Nielsen (US) ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Absynthe Verte7 April 2014 at 02:00

I believe that even though Rachel was missing/kidnapped, Jeremy let Malcolm go because he knows that if Malcolm is dead then the Mutts plans will completely fall apart and then Rachel is of no use to them as a bargaining chip and then... she's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Absynthe Verte7 April 2014 at 02:13

Nah, not his style. He kills mutts, he doesn't make them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. yes, that sis try and white wash it from the book, and also Clay comes off incredibly bad and at times rapey (that's also kind ok) in the book.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't see why she should feel any less guilty about Philip, or why she had an obligation to stay with her family. She has a right to live her own life. If anyone's responsible for the pack's weakness it's Jeremy.

    ReplyDelete
  50. But he could have used him as a bargaining tool. And had they taken Elena, he would never have let Malcolm go.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think the author of the book has a way of rationalizing a lot of things.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree, I think Jeremy is the most responsible of all. And why didn't he make sure his father was really dead instead of just accepting rumors as fact? He should have gone there and made sure.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've gotten the books but haven't started reading them yet... but i was wondering if maybe they'd go the route of her getting bitten and with her being pregnant.. maybe some that they'd try and come up with a pure wolf that way.. a little far out there but with these tv shows.. who knows where they'll go.. lol

but when it comes to Jeremy....I do think that he really needs to come into the modern times.. just a little.... he's way to old school and the old ways of doing things...

    ReplyDelete
  54. What I'm sure is that she will feel guilt, otherwise it wouldn't be a drama with Philip definitely out of the picture... I just hope that almost the whole season 2 (that we hope we will be) won't be about Elena's dramatic feelings like this one was.

    ReplyDelete
  55. This was a greatly epic finale! And with that cliffhanger ending... Definitely didn't see THAT coming with Philip. Wow.
I also loved all the music but the one during the main fighting scene... While it was kinda good during Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the violin and everything was weird in this scene I think.
Wonder what will happen eith Rachel (though I don't really like her character) and Elena after this, and what is Malcolm's plan.

Really hope we will get a second season.

    ReplyDelete
  56. What a finale!!! Wow! I can't wait until the second season! I'm positive that Bitten will be renewed since this is SPACE's #1 original show ever. Yep even more than Orphan Black. http://bellmediapr.ca/Network/Space/Press/BITTEN-Becomes-Spaces-1-Original-Series-Ever-Season-1-Finale-airs-Saturday Also Steve Lund went on some talk shows this week to promote the finale so everything is pointing to a renewal. YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  57. its just a tv show man... get over it..... she's a made up person man... its not like the character Rachel is a..... and get this REAL PERSON.....

    ReplyDelete
  58. I've wondered if girls born on werewolves had dormant genes, that were activated if bitten. I think this would be an interesting route.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anything is possible with Jorge, we don't know enough about him yet.

If we get a season two, I have a feeling Rachel won't be around after the baby comes. I doubt she would stick with Logan after all this, and if she finds out about the werewolves, my guess is she'll end up as dead as Philip.

    ReplyDelete
  60. In some ways I guess, but before Jeremy, neither Elena or Logan would have been able to lead human lives the way they did. I do think though, that after everything that has happened, Jeremy might continue to grow/change. He loves his family.

    ReplyDelete
  61. He's a Sorrentino, so he's not a Mutt. But, his loyalty is definitely in question here. He did ask for Elena to be sent to him. He did tell Jeremy he dropped Philip off at the airport to Paris. I'm suspicious. It could go either way, he's either loyal and really thought Philip was safe, or he gave him to Malcolm.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There was a family tree chart posted on the official site's twitter. If you go look through their twitter, it's probably still up. That's the twitter feed they post to the Space Bitten site.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Nick told Jorge he was not apart of the Pack. So, I thought if you were not apart of the Pack you were a Mutt. So, okay, Jorge is a part of the Sorrentino family, then neither Malcolm or Santos were Mutts (as they both represented prominent families of the original Pack). It's confusing, but the distinction is made clear.
Thanks also to Carrigon for her input on Mutt, Pack, and family.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Absynthe Verte8 April 2014 at 20:31

True. Perhaps it comes down to the fact that Jeremy was just too stunned at seeing his father to think clearly and act on it. Hopefully, we'll get a season 2 and all our questions will be answered! :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Absynthe Verte8 April 2014 at 20:37

I believe that the only reason they took Rachel is to lure Elena to Malcolm for his evil purposes and the rest of the pack to their eventual death (Malcolm's hoping).

Jeremy will eventually adjust... somewhat. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  66. It can be confusing, lol, but Malcolm and Santos were definitely considered Mutts. Jorge is a different situation because his family is aligned with the Pack as allies. Malcolm and Santos are enemies of the pack. There are (in the tv version) several families/packs that are sort of an extension of the main pack. Hope that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think she does a fantastic job creating her world and her characters, and explaining their behaviours based on the wolf-human line that they have to walk.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Clay is a lot of things, but RAPEY is not one of them. Come on now! He has never done anything to Elena that she didn't want him to do. Be fair.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I thought the whole finale of killing off all the major threats , only to be blindsided buy Jeramy father .. I believe he Beheading came from the dad .. Who also has to have Kelly ..
