    Although another excellent episode, the last 10 minutes shocked the doors out of me!!!!! I really thought that Laurel was going to get hurt at the end but she found out by Slade the true identity of Oliver Queen! I am not happy I have to wait another 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

    After all this 'this is likea season finale' and 'this will be Arrows biggest episode' talk I'm kinda let down by the result.
    Don't get me wrong, it was a good episode, I just thought it'd have more gravitas to it.


    Thea found out Malcolm is her father and Isabel is a villain, this is pretty much all this episode ultimately delivered.
    Manu is THE KING of the whisper acting thought, he really makes Slade more creepy each minute, pretty damn well delivered.
    And Willa Holland ? BOY WHY don't they use her more often ? She was REALLY good tonight. Sadly she didn't get as many scenes as I hoped she would, wasn't that supposed her 'big' episode ? Not really her episode now, was it ? More a Roy/Oliver/Slade centric one with Thea being merely the damsel in distress.
    And just take a moment for the comedic induedo Sara/Roy had. It wasn't ment to be comedic but letting Caity Lotz and Colton Haynes act opposite each other is pretty hillarious in itself. Both were really awful in that episode (in Caitys defense: she wasn't given much material, doesen't mean she delivers when she gets good material but I'll let it slide). And the stares they gave each other were really telling, both were pretty much saying 'I don't give a damn, let's just give him/her a stare....let's make it look dramatic...ugh...I can't twitch my facial muscles'.
    Amell tried but 'eh' sums up the performance best.
    Guess we're back to Diggle and Felicity playing motivational speakers to Oliver/Sara/Roy again ? Pretty sad what the writers did to these two characters. They work on their own but aren't given any significant scenes.
    I enjoyed the fight scene between Oliver and the thugs, a pretty big sequence, well choreographed. And Summer Glau got some moves ! She was cat like.

    I'm actually pretty interested in seeing more of Isabel, maybe next time kicking Olivers ass ?
    The over all plot was okay, Thea being captured, turned around by Slade and Oliver being played was a pretty solid plot for an episode. The Roy emo arc was needed as much as I disliked it, I guess they're driving Roy to become Arsenal. So why did he leave Starling City ? Isn't he supposed to be in the next episode ? (at least he was seen in the promo)

    So enough picking on this episode, it was enjoyable. After all the hype Guggenheim made about the episode it ultimately turned out to be a merely okay episode.

    A positive difference to many episodes to me was that the bad acting from various castmates didn't bother me that much because they gave the better actors more to do this time.

    I just expected a way more significant pay-off.
    as for the rest of the season: I'm not putting much hope in this show killing off any hot and young character off anymore. This has ultimately turned into a full blown CW show.
    Moira, Det. Lance, Diggle or Slade will bite it, not because their characters ran their course but because they don't fit theCW profiling.

    I expect Caity Lotz to take over for the leaving castmember, she fits the profile more.

    Ohh man that was intense!! Wow!! Are you kidding me with this, now we gotta wait til April 16th!! I'm officially dying from this moment on!! Soooo many feels in this episode!!!


    Team Arrow is broken!! That scene. I said DAYUM!!! Them be fighting words!! "Of course you'd take his side, you're screwing him." OUCH!! "Oh now you're going to kill me b/c i'm crossing your precious Oliver?" "No i'm gonna kill you because you're hurting my friend." Oh oh oh, that was nice. Oliver "LET HIM GO! What is going on down here?!?!"


    I KNEW IT!!! I KNEW IT!!! I knew that succubus bitch was part of it!!! That reveal was awesome!!! Oliver handed her ass to her! Bitch thought she could take him. Gotta give her props. That was some nice moves, for however brief!!


    And WE WERE ALL WRONG!! About who would find out about Oliver. At first my feelings were hurt. I said nooo. That's not right!! He's breaking the hero/villain code!! This isn't how it goes. What is he doing?? I swear it just felt off. Then the Queen family in the precinct, and my heart stopped just as much as Oliver's did!! As he backed up, i held my breath, then she let it out and i exhaled!! That was such a relief!! But my heart broke for Thea! She couldn't even look at Moira. She didn't. She just pounded on Ollie, like Moira wasn't even in the room. Aw man that was really suspenseful.


    Moira and Ollie having the talk in the mansion was really nice. I loved the dialog. As well as Oliver breaking down in the cave and having my favorite team bring him back to kick ass mode. I love my original Team Arrow!!! Speaking of Team Arrow, where the hell is Roy going??? I didn't expect that.


    Oliver arguing with Sara, then Felicity jumping in setting her man straight (that's right i said, deal with it) was awesome!! Showed so much badassery on her part. "Do what you gotta do, End this!" LOVED IT!! And he listened to her too. No holding back!!! The break-in was epic!!! Left and Right!! Bam, bam, bam!! Smack, punch, kick, arrow, kill, kill, kill. LMAO I think that was my favorite part.


    Slade and Laurel, not THAT completely threw me. I wonder what is the point of telling her?? But did you see her face?? I felt like she was going to faint right then and there!! It confuses me on WHY he didn't tell her about Sara though?? I would assume he would tell her that first. Slade is a really son of a bitch!! HA!! He just said it with so much ease and walked out. Like he didn't just drop a bomb on her.


    Quentin. I feel bad for him. On the bright side. If he goes down, at least he'll be safe....right? LOL


    I didn't care for the flashbacks this episode, nor did i care about Sebastian. When Laurel apologized to him and he was trying to make her feel less foolish, I just kept thinking..you asshole. I can't wait til you get yours. And good for you!! Glad you lost the debate!!


    I loved this episode. Did this feel like a season finale to anyone else?? B/c it sure did to me!! And we're only on episode 18!! Can't wait to see what happens next!!

    Loved this episode.

    Damn it! I wanted Thea to find out about Oliver, not about Malcolm being her father! But I'm happy Laurel finally found out! Let's just hope she doesn't go crazy again.

    I'm happy that Moira and Oliver have seemed to have reconciled. I was getting tired of their fighting.

    HELL YES to Isabel finally having a motive! I have been waiting all season for this. She was badass. Hopefully the writers go through "The Queen" route with her. I will poop my pants with excitement if they do.

    Loved the scene where Diggle and Felicity give Oliver a pep talk and he says "Now we fight back!" Hell yeah we will!

    I am thinking if laurel does believe spade and knowing that her fathers job is on the line and he has been arrested she might tell the truth bout Oliver! I know that could be a major changer if people knew he was the arrow but I think laurel will do anything to help her sad and I loved how felicity backed Oliver up on tonight's episode!

    That's right, it doesn't. Aww that's so sweet of you. You know what? I was thinking that too. I was thinking she CAN'T believe him. How does she know he's not lying?!?!? Then i paused. Thought about it. It said it all in her face. She believes Slade. And idk why. I think in the back of her head she always had an inkling deep down, even though Ollie was cleared. But his disappearing acts, the way he changed when he came back from the Island. The REASON Slade went after Thea. She'll piece it altogether. From this moment, i will be SHOCKED if she stays on Oliver's side and doesn't confront him about it.

    Laurel knows. At Last!!! But will she believe Slade? If she confronts Oliver, will he lie his way out of it? Will she be mad at Oliver? (cant hold that against her)? I have some hopes that the writers use this development to turn her character around and get her more involved in the story line and have a positive effect on her character development. But then again, considering their track record when it comes to writing for Laurel, I know it's extremely foolish to get ones hopes up.

    So lets get this straight: Thea knows now she's Merlyn's daughter (weird she liked tommy for an episode but ok), Moira still knows he's alive and not saying anything, Roy left town, Detective Lance is arrested for being right about slade, with Slade now being a wanted man by the city and now known to be the assassin Deathstroke and then telling Laurel that Oliver is the Arrow, and Oliver, Diggle, Felicity, and Sara are now going on the offensive after Deathstroke, Brother Blood, and Isabel, who btw sounds like someone maybe Oliver knew or has a connection to (I was thinking at that moment she might be connected to Shado that feeling just came to me if im right I called it!). Team Arrow down one man and Team Deathstroke up one and now Deathstroke is building an army. Holy crap alot happend awesome! Honestly the most surprising moment was Slade telling Laurel I did think he was going to kill her, I was surprised to with Thea that she learned about merlyn but not as surprised since we knew Slade told her something.

    He tells Thea that Malcolm Merlyn is her father. (I don't know how he knew that though, I doubt either Moira or Malcolm would have told him.) Thea accuses Oliver of hiding the truth from her for years although he's only known it for a few episodes himself.

    It went on commercial after Slade asked her "Would you like to know Oliver's secret" When she was at the police station. She said "He told me, he told me your secret. You've been lying to me and lying to me. How could you not tell me...that Malcolm Merlyn is my father?? I TRUSTED YOU!!!" Then she starts to walk out, and Oliver yelled, "We only did it to protect you" Then she turns around and says, "You know who you sound like, you sound like her." Then she stormed off. She was crying and really angry, and the whole time she was talking she didn't even look at Moira. Not once through the whole scene.

    This could have been a good episode....but the episodes beforehand kind of let it down.
    1. Oh, surprise, Isabell is a villain. What a surprise...NOT. The problem is that I don't really feel the gravity of Oliver loosing QC (neither was I surprised, I knew it would happen the moment he signed the paper) because, well, he was never there either way, and the Queen family will hardly go bankrupt because of this. Yeah, on an intellectual level I know that this might be very bad for the city, but for the show...will that actually change anything? Yeah, they say they use the science division now, but honestly...does it make any difference if QC develops it or of Slade uses his seemingly never-ending funds?
    2. Same with Roy going...it should be something dramatic, but since we never really got to see Roy being part of the team (or being happy with Oliver as his mentor), I was more: Yeah, good idea, pick a mentor who actually knows what he is doing. Which, I guess, was not the intention of the writers. I think we are suppose to worry about Roy and being sad that he is gone...but while I hope that he will be back, him being gone is not much different from him being there but never allowed to do something of substance. And in a way him going makes no sense at all...him leaving the team, yes, but considering that he left it because Oliver told him to stay away from Thea which lead to her abduction, wouldn't the logical reaction be trying to patch thing up with her and staying close for her protection?
    3. Eh...good to know that Laurel now doesn't believe in what she saw and learned anymore. Makes the whole scenes in the asylum utterly pointless, though. And shouldn't we have gotten that information earlier instead of wondering for weeks why she doesn't investigate? (Which would have a great storyline for her, but no, a downward spiral naturally can't involve obsessive investigating). And just telling her the truth is easily the most boring way to tackle the issue.
    4. As was the way Thea learned the truth...for that matter, how does Slade even know? I know he has cameras in the house, but I can't remember Oliver and Moira discussing the issue since he installed them. Did I miss something?
    5. Arresting Quentin is BS. Him taking tips from the Arrow hardly makes him a criminal...if that were the case, they would have to arrest every police officer who ever acted on the information of a CI. To charge Quentin they would have to proof that he aided the Arrow in committing a crime (which he never did). So firing him - okay. Keeping him for questioning - okay. Arresting him - are you kidding me?
    6. Btw: Diggle has organized the worst security ever...bad enough that it was even possible to abduct Thea because nobody was bothered about her walking alone through the Glades...but now they didn't even notice that she never arrived home and nobody really knows where she is? Yeah...right...they could have at least said that Thea was on her way to the debate when she disappeared, and allowing Oliver to show some worry when she didn't turn up.
    High points of the episode were Thea (great performance), though I was very disappointed that she had comparable little screen-time (wasn't that supposed to be "her" episode?), especially her telling off Oliver, Moira (another great performance), loved the "but we never stop to think what we might do to them" line, and I am glad that the show runners considered the sympathy votes Moira would get in this situation. The Island scenes were good, too.
    Oh well...at least they laid the ground some potential good stuff in the future (I just hope that they don't get the brilliant idea that Laurel should prosecute Quentin).

    Thanks Shannon! I wasn't sure if he told her onscreen or not I'll watch the episode again later I just wanted to make sure exactly what happened. So Thea thinks he's known for years when he hasn't but I guess it doesn't matter how long he knew he should've told her but still how do you even go about explaining that the father you loved all your life wasn't even your biological dad and a psychopath who practically destroyed the city is your real father?

    We were told there was a doctor who knew about Malcolm being Thea's dad. Slade probably tracked him down and found out that info before Three Ghosts even.

    Good episode. Oliver is losing, and Slade is winning so far. Now both Thea knows about her real father and Laurel knows about him being the Arrow.
    Oliver won't be able to beat Slade's army now that they have Queen's consolidated science division to create more and more Mirakuru. He's going to need both the league and the Suicide Squad to beat them. Heck, he might even join forces with Merlyn..
    Speaking of the Suicide Squad, they really got to add Helena as a new team member..

He's a known psycho by that point. So she just goes, "Oh Psycho comes, says something without showing me evidence, and I believe?"

    YW. ; )...yeah it was done off screen. And I'm glad it was. But my head was seriously spinning when she said "I know your secret." And Ollie walked backwards, eyes popping out of his head. Geez! I was right there with him. Haha. Yeah it sucks that she thinks that. "I was kinda mad when he yelled out, we were trying to protect you." B/c iI was hoping he'd say, "I just found out and iI was going to tell you." But as you said, it really doesn't matter That IS a tough conversation to have. As for Thea trying to kiss Tommy. Idk everyone is finding that so weird. It's not like she KNEW he was her brother. And she grew up knowing him, and was really messed up at the time, it's natural for a teenager to grow attached to their siblings' friends. It was the same for Tommy, when he told Oliver, "have you noticed how hot your sister's getting?" B/c Tommy, well he was just being Tommy. Lol But iI don't find it gross or anything. Neither of them knew. And TBH, before it was revealed iI didn't think of it in the slightest. Then afterwards iI thought, wow Thea does have a resemblance to Malcolm.

    Yes, I expect Merlyn, the League, and the Suicide Squad will all be working with Arrow in the end. But it will be costly. Thea will go with her father, Ollie owes the Suicide Squad a mission of his own, and Sara goes back to the League.

    I'm usually happy with the arrow episodes, but this one felt too predictable. I'm kind of sick of Slade getting the better of Oliver. I'd like Oliver, for once, do something smart that Slade does not anticipate. Also, people getting angry at others whenever they find a secret that was being kept from them, is also getting old. I'm guessing that half of next episode will be about Laurel's re-ignited angst. If I were Laurel, I'd be angry at myself for not recognizing Sara or Oliver, given that they were inches away from her on multiple occasions. Also,.Slade's hatred of Oliver for being forced to make a choice is getting old. It's not a worthy enough reason to devote your life to destroying someone, especially when that person was also a victim of the circumstances. It's not like Shadu was even into Slade.... he was never going to have her anyway. As for Isabel's misplaced anger at Oliver....yawn. . At least Slade can blame his insane rage on being injected with Mirajuru.. Isobel has no excuse.

    I'd like to see Oliver surprise me for once, rather than Slade. I'd like him to stop falling for all of his traps. For example, Oliver giving Isobel temporary CEO authority was incredibly stupid and bound to come back to bite him.

    Good parts in the episode..Oliver and his mom's semi-reconciliation. Felicity had some funny comments in the beginning. Sebastian getting angry over losing in the polls.

    I know from them it isn't because they didn't know I just mean for the viewers I guess I'm just glad nothing happened. I want to know when we'll see Malcolm next especially when he finds out Thea knows he's her father not sure how great that reunion is going to be but he's probably still on the run from Ra's al Ghul.

    You mean HER Father?? I doubt it. Once she pieces everything together she'll realize WHY Ollie kept it a secret. If anything she'll probably feel Quentin is safer in jail for NOT knowing. As twisted as it sounds, it makes sense to me, if they go that route. I think the only person she'll confront, IF she confronts, will be Oliver.

    But she still didn't tell him that Malcolm is alive. So really, I fear this reconciliation is all for nothing. Unless the writers decide to give Oliver a complete personality transplant and have him shrug off this particular lie of Moira's when he finds out about Malcolm, after he went ballistic and disowned his own mother over her previous lie.

    We still have to see whether or not Laurel believes Slade, but if she starts to examine things, it actually makes a lot of sense that Oliver is the Arrow even if it was seemingly debunked in 1x05. Oliver returns to Starling after 5 years, the vigilante shows up; Oliver leaves; the vigilante disappears; Oliver returns after a few months, so does the vigilante. She's seen the vigilante up close multiple times, and while she magically hasn't been able to recognize him, he's got the same height and build, jawline, facial shape, etc. as Oliver. And I can't remember them right now but there have probably been all sorts of instances of Oliver mysteriously disappearing at certain times and such... really, if she stops to think about it for a minute there's a LOT pointing towards Oliver being Arrow. So it makes sense not to dismiss it as crazy talk by Slade.


    As for Thea - it's the same thing. Her mother had an affair with Malcolm 19/20 years ago. The timeline fits perfectly. And she does look enough like Malcolm to make it plausible. So Occam's Razor points to Slade telling the truth, even if he's doing it for nefarious purposes. Also, if Oliver or Moira had denied it, it's possible she would've at least heard them out rather than believe Slade over them. But they didn't.

    On the issue of Slade's lame motivation, I still believe, on top of everything, that Oliver didn't even really "choose" Sara over Shado, making his admission at the police station that he did annoying. It's not like Ivo told him to choose and Oliver, desperate to save at least one of them, explicitly asked him to spare Sara. Ivo pointed his gun at her and Oliver instinctively jumped in front of the gun. That was hardly a conscious choice to sacrifice Shado for Sara. Was he supposed to do nothing? But of course Oliver has never tried to tell Slade that, neither in the flashbacks nor in present day. I'm not saying it would've persuaded Slade, considering how crazy he must be to embark on this vendetta in the first place, but Oliver shouldn't at least tried. That's what people do, they defend themselves, rather than accept the blame for things they did NOT in fact do. It's just lazy writing.

    The problem is not that it could have set the seeds of doubt, it seems like we got instant belief. Oh, psycho says this, it must be true. They needed to have Slade show proof (which he could have done), or, we see the reaction as being inquisitorial doubt. It's the instant acceptance which is the problem.

    I agree. I thought I was the only who felt that way. To me, it looked like he didn't choose and that he just instinctively jumped when the gun was pointed at Sarah. Oliver has a way of keeping silent about way too many things, and often for reasons that escape logic.

    OMG!!! This was like a season finale episode, it was so good. Im excited to see what the heck is going to happen for the rest of the season. Even though this was suppose to be a Thea centric episode it really wasn't, it was more of Slade playing mind games with Oliver. Oliver and Moira making up was ok, she gave one hell of a speech but I still don't trust her and she still is lying to Oliver(and yes I know he is lying to her too. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree). I have to say that every time Roy comes on screen it just feels like they have to plug him in somewhere and when they do that for me it just does not work. I loved it when it was finally revealed that Isabel was in on the plan. I have to say I didn't see it coming until Oliver signed over CEO duties to her! I loved the part when Oliver was not listening to Sara(she still annoys me) but when Felicity told him to go, he didn't argue with her(yes I'm team Olicity). Slade building his army is interesting cause obviously this is about more than just Oliver cause if it wasn't he would not need an army. Det. Lance getting arrested seems a bit odd, I think that either Sara or Laurel will get him off. I also think that he is next to find out that Oliver is the arrow. Not sure what the purpose was of Slade telling Laurel that Oliver is The Arrow, but we will find out soon. I do see her spiraling when she finds out about her sister though. Over all a great episode.

    I enjoyed the episode but did have a few issues.


    Why go to all the trouble of kicking Thea out of the car so Brother Blood could do the actual kidnapping if you're going to have a sit-down with your victim leaving her able to finger you to the cops?


    Was kind of glad that Slade's 'take everyone from you' didn't literally mean kill them all. Equally pleased he didn't sit on all of his secrets. He used them as weapons.


    Ridiculous rift between Mother and Son is over. Good. Zero emotional punch to Thea finding out about Merlin because....it was totally clear she was going to find out in the worst way possible the moment Oliver declared he would keep the secret.


    The crux of my issues with the last couple three episodes is that it has frequently felt like the writers have been shoving square pegs into round holes to get everyone maneuvered to where they need them to be for the end of the season. There are elements that don't really feel organic. Speedy's tirade about Oliver's decision making...rang wrong to my ears here.


    But, like I said, over all I really enjoyed the ep.
