iZombie, The Flash and Gotham - Being dubbed? - Ordered to series? *Updated*

Update: 17:00 Just to confirm that Gotham has already been ordered to series. You can see all our Gotham posts here.

Doblaje hecho enVzla has tweeted about dubbing iZombie, The Flash and Gotham. They have previously handled the dubbing in Latin America for various other DC TV series and movies. If any of the 3 have been ordered to series is yet to be confirmed, however dubbing may be seen as a positive sign.

  1. Well there was no doubt anyway that they would be picked up to series

  2. Gotham has had an official website easily seen on the FOX website, so duh haha

  3. The Flash and Gotham were always pretty certain to get picked up. IZombie is easily one of the best looking 'original' (so not a spin-off) pilots The CW have ordered, so that was also to be expected.

  4. Gotham also has a verified Twitter account, if anyone was wondering :)

  5. It depends on what fails27 April 2014 at 12:41

If I'm not mistaken, Gothan had already been ordered.

Flash is a lock, iZombie seems to have an advantage over SPN:Bloodlines, but CW might pick one more show for next fall.

  6. of course, I doubt The CW will only launch 2 fall shows.

  7. Gotham was ordered straight to series.

The Flash always was a certain thing, not only because of the positive buzz it got from various television focused sites and magazines but also because the Arrow writers 'forced' The Flash in as canon (introducing the character, breaking their 'no superpowers' rule for a single shot of him, introducing the cast without giving them a purpose in Arrows storyline) and infected one of theCWs shows with it.
Also Flash was pretty much a prestige project anway.

iZombie is the only surprise here, it sounds like a fun show and I'm surprised theCW isn't going with a drama like 'Jane the Virgin'. But hell it stars David Anders so I'm totally pumped for this !

Gotham wasn't ordered straight to series, it has a series commitment (EW referenced it here: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/04/25/gotham-john-stephens/). Considering the website and the twitter account, it probably has been given the greenlight already. They just haven't outright said it yet.

  9. thanks, seems like didn't remember that correctly. I was always under the assumption that FOX commissioned a 13 episode season right off the bat

  10. FOX already has a Gotham section up on their website and anyone covering pilot season considers both The Flash and iZombie a lock so I'd say the chances of these shows going to series are pretty damn good.

  11. Yep, I've just updated the post. I had totally forgotten that FOX have already ordered Gotham to Series lol

Doesn't Gotham only have a series commitment? Not a series order yet.

    EW referenced it here:

Deadline's recent pilot buzz also suggests it's still fighting for a spot on the schedule

Deadline already reported The Flash and iZombie were sure pick ups.

  14. Both iZombie and Bloodlines seem to be a lock, but I think Bloodline will also be one of The CW's failures next season.

  17. Yay Gotham! Congrats! Also waiting for the confirmation about The Flash :)

  18. Gracias. Totally forgot that one.

  19. theCW should totally consider airing their non-picked up pilots on CWSeed. It wouldn't only give them more trafficking but also would at least have the money spent on these pilots mean something.

  20. I could only see them doing something like that with at least a 1-cycle gap. This summer they'd post last year's discarded pilots and next summer they'd post the 2014 pilots and so on. That way there's no bitching and second guessing to takeaway focus from their upcoming new fall shows.

  21. We'll see this coming Tuesday how Bloodlines perform. But seeing very little promotion and when even extended promo is totally blah - yep, I think they either giving up on the idea already or going to keep it for spring to replace next year flop.

    ReplyDelete
  22. even better: they could simply reach into their archives and grab their old pilots (as in REALLY old). I'm sure there's a healthy line-up of one-off programming to fill some gaps (wether it's on Seed or the actual CW). I'm counting about 14 (archived) pilots they could air:

    - Mercy Reef (aka. Aquaman)

-The Wyoming Project (drama about a dude taking care of his sisters on a ranch)

    - Betwixt (mystery show about changelings saving humans from...something ?)

    - Nomads (about a group of crime fighters)

    - Joey Dakota (some time travel comedy)

    - The Selection

    - Shelter (I actually have no idea what this is about)

    - Awakening (zombie drama, would especially NOW be an interesting thing)

    - Heavenly (supernatural attorney drama, like SPN I guess)

    - Cooper and Stone (Rizzoli and Isles esque crime comedy)

    - Body Politic (something starring Jason Dhoring)

    - Austin Golden Hour (medical drama)

    - Blink (drama)

    - Company Town (drama)

gee, 13 hours of programming...just use 'em

Back in the 80s networks only comissioned TV movies, wich sounds like the best alternative to what we have now

    ReplyDelete
  23. Don't forget Danni Lowinski and The Selection has two versions - 2012 & 2013.

    ReplyDelete
  24. gee that makes 3 more pilots.
If theCW was to ever have to fill a timeslot...this'd be perfect

on an artistic note it would just be interesting to see for yourself why these pilots failed, it's not like the typical CW watcher is hanging around CWseed anyway. We know they won't have a conclusion but seeing them would still be better than them catching dust in warners archives

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agreed. I'd watch discarded pilots from most major networks if they offered them online. Unfortunately, unlike The CW who develops almost all their stuff in house, pilots sold to networks from outside sources usually have stipulations put in place that would charge the network for airing their pilots making it unlikely that they'll see the light of day.

    ReplyDelete
  26. wich is why I'm jumping on theCW to do something like that. They're struggeling to get viewers anyway, not like that would hurt them. If anything it could only benefit them

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think it would be good just for info gathering purposes. They can find out what works for the audience and what doesn't, what characters, actors, and actresses the audience takes to and who they don't. etc. etc.

    ReplyDelete
  28. true, and this way it's probably easier (and quicker) than experimenting with a new genre each new season

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm pretty sure they did. They did with the shows I mentioned elsewhere, and they gave it a website the same time as the others.

    ReplyDelete
  30. They actually are selling the Aquaman pilot on Google Play which I find odd.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh, I see Bloodlines getting a pilot on air and maybe a few episodes in because I feel like The CW will trying anything once, lol…but I see it being a flop for sure. Even the set pics for the "Bloodlines" episode of Supernatural scream like it's an episode of The Originals and NOT something I'd expect to be of something in the Supernatural universe.

I DO, however, thinking Bloodlines could have worked if it was created around the same time in seasons six and seven because monsters played a more important role and those are the only two seasons that I felt would've helped to sprout such a spin-off. The first five seasons and the last two seasons, however, I feel like Bloodlines will never work as successful as it could have if it were to have been made around the same time that monsters was a real focus on Supernatural with Sera Gamble running the show. Too bad Andrew Dabb didn't think of the idea back then.
