IS ELIJAH THE NEW KLAUS? | “The redemption of Klaus and the undoing of Elijah seems to be where we’re creeping towards,” Daniel Gillies explained. And don’t expect Klaus to object to his brother’s change of heart. “He likes to see Elijah embrace the darker side,” Joseph Morgan added. “There’s an excitement, definitely.”

CLAIRE HOLT’S EXIT EXPLAINED |
“As far as I’m concerned, this is a temporary hiatus,” Holt said about her absence from the series. “I’m taking a little vacation in the sun, but I’m going to return to my New Orleans family.” Holt went on to assure the audience that Originals producers didn’t “run out of ideas,” nor was she “pushed out” of the show. After not seeing so many of her loved ones for so long, she decided she simply needed more free time. ”I am so not ready to let go of the Mikaelsons,” she concluded. “I hope that there’s many more stories to tell.”

  2. People should be happy that Holt will return someday. I can't blame her for needing a break.

  3. Well I'll take Holts quote with a grain of salt. She says that she plans to return someday, many actors said that and never came back.

    I won't hold my breath

  4. I agree, this somehow sounds like a damage control... I think she may make an appearance but as a regular, I wouldn't hold my breath either.

  5. I doubt that being a regular again was ever a question. She said herself that she just needed more time. Meaning she was probably more happy with the arrangement she had for TVD: not a regular but a recurring guest

  6. Yeah, you are probably right, and we all know how it goes with the guest appearances (Kol has been a guest star in the first episode as well - technically). I just wish the Original family would be more than 2 brothers (and I certainly don't count the unborn baby).

  7. I'm very sceptical about Claire Holt ever returning for anything more than a few extended guest spots. She could've easily taken off for the rest of the season and the first few episodes of the second one and still been kept on as a regular. Michael Trevino's missed quite a few episodes in almost ever season. It's not only that but her exit felt very final from the series.

  8. I'm disappointed they didn't address the diminished family aspect of The Originals which was what mainly drew me to this series to begin with.

  9. The Originals seriously isn't the Originals anymore, why is the Original family story lines, what's up with this continuous power struggle. They need to have a better clearer storyline, because it's getting repetitive, I like the show, I like the Originals, but without a clear goal, it's not as entertaining anymore. Thankfully Claire Holt says she's returning, as why would TheCW renew the show for a second season with just two Originals?

  10. It felt very finale to me as well. From the interview I read earlier with Claire & Julie it sounded a lot more like she was going to come back to guest-star for flashback sequences. She also mentioned maybe bringing Kol back for the flashbacks but considering we saw him for all five seconds daggered in one episode I don't really believe that either will appear on the show again unless we actually get conformation that they are there and filming the episode.

  11. I can only see Claire coming back for the series finale or the last few episodes to be honest, and only then because of the ridiculous money they'd offer her.

  12. If the supernatural spin off is successful i don't see nae being too keen or available to do a lot of filming for TO.

  13. Maybe they were forced to get rid of one regular due to bad ratings and the CW network agreeing to renew the show but only with a cutback?
I feel like Rebekah's storyline is over, there was such an overload of bad writing for her i don't even want her on my screen anymore, even in flashbacks.

And ruining Elijah is like the worst idea ever. Elijah is the new Klaus? WTH?
If they turn him into bipolar vampire like Stefan for example, who kills people one moment and regrets it the nextm i am so done with the show.
Literally no one wants to see him go bad or get town between conflicting emotions, it's bad enough Klaus is showing more emotions each episode than appropriate for a male character
