  2. I don't get Elijah at all. He talked Klaus into reclaiming the the city for himself (which he did and now Elijah seem to be complaining about it) and he also spent a lot of time trying to get Klaus to want to be a father to his child after Klaus thought the witches were tricking him back in the pilot. Now that Klaus has had some time for the news to sort of sink-in it seemed like he had accepted that he had a child on the way and is planning on trying to be a father to that child. But now that Klaus is doing what Elijah wanted him to do in the first place it sounds like Elijah is planning on kidnapping his brother's child or at least trying to keep Klaus away from the baby - it's like a total 180 and I don't get it.

  3. Are they fighting over Hayley? Klaus actually cares about her (quite a lot), and he is finally showing it! and why has Elijah become so mean??

  4. I've always thought it was more about the baby than anything else. If Elijah had met Hayley back in Mystic Falls when Klaus did I don't think he would have really been interested in her - I think it really has more to do with the fact that Klaus knocked her up than who she is as a person. As soon as Sophie told Elijah that Klaus had gotten her pregnant he immediately starting making moon-eyes at her even though she was a complete stranger to him and he was with Katherine at the time.

Klaus also I don't think ever really cared about Hayley as a person either - he slept with her out of boredom - not because he had feelings for her. He cares about his child so by extension of the child I think he'll try to have a civil relationship with her because he'll want his daughter to have a mother but if there was no baby I don't think Klaus would have cared one way or the other about her.

  5. i think that Klaus until now was showing that he cared just about the baby but now that Hayley has become "the werewolf queen" i think that he starts to see her differently...

  6. So Klaus has decided, since he feels his family is broken, to ditch the Mikaelson family in favor of making a new one with the wolves and his baby. Classy. Also, it would seem that after beating his head against a wall for centuries, Elijah has finally realized Klaus isn't going to change and has ended his quest to save his brother. It's about time Elijah stopped sacrificing everything for someone who will never appreciate it. Good for him.

  7. Klaus actually doesn't care about Hayley at all, it's even been implied that he'll get rid of her after she gives birth. Not that I think he ultimately will, JP loves Phoebe Tomkin and that infects the storyline. Klaus tends to get jelly over his siblings LI's because he fears abandonment, with Hayley and Elijah it's intensified because he's afraid the baby will ultimately love Elijah more and want Elijah as it's father instead - Klaus even stated that in the ep where he bit Elijah.

  8. I can't tell from the clip for sure but it didn't seem like he was wanting to replace his family, only include the werewolves which are in fact his family as well. It didn't seem the same as when he was creating hybrids back in MF.

  9. Long clip but I have no idea what's going on, lol. Hayley was attacked apparently and Elijah is pissed off that Klaus wants to recognize the wolves as family when technically they are his family - at least the ones that had his mothers ring... didn't Elijah himself give that ring to Klaus and want him to embrace them as family? *Is confused*

  10. Elijah's infatuation with her was rather quick. It's lolworthy how quick he snaps to it when he finds out she's pregnant in Always and Forever but then cringe worthy and sad if you consider Katherine. :(

    ReplyDelete
  11. You're right. It isn't the same. In mystic falls, he was creating an army with those hybrids to protect himself from threats. This time he's trying to manufacture a replacement family and he's getting the ball rolling by buying their loyalty (or at least get in their good graces) with a moonlight ring.

His disparaging comments about vampires, his lingering hurt and resentment of Hayley and (to a lesser extent) Elijah, his new detachment from the Mikaelson name, his newfound indifference to the 'empire' he was trying to build with his Mikaelson family, his overtures to the wolves, it's all there. He's forsaking one family to build another.

  12. "Klaus tends to get jelly over his siblings LI's because he fears abandonment"

Exactly. That's why Celeste died and that's why Rebekah's boyfriends always ended up dead. Klaus' concern isn't for Hayley. His concern is not being left alone and that's why the emotional connections his siblings make bring out the worst in him. With Hayley and Elijah, it's even worse because she's having his child.

  13. You can take meeee Elijah! THAT WAS HOT!.Lmao I'm not gonna lie. Mikaelson fighting sometimes can turn me on. But seriously, Elijah sure did find out about Klaus' plan quickly. Hmm, I wonder what gave it away?? Jackson maybe? And go head Elijah! It's time for you to be happy. And I don't mean with Hayley, I mean in general. You've waited long enough. Let Klaus did his own grave. (pun intended).

  14. From what we saw in the promo I think Marcel or someone set off a bomb in the bayou and Hayley was there and must have survived but some of the werewolves (maybe Oliver) didn't. But there was defiantly some sort of explosion out where the werewolves were. I seriously doubt that Klaus would have done it - so I think Marcel is the most likely candidate.

Although to me it didn't sound like Klaus was really working against Elijah in the last episode. It sounded like the ring was just going to prevent them from turning into wolves. I'm not sure where Jackson got the idea that their bite would be lethal all the time and whatnot because I didn't hear Klaus say anything about any of that at all.

  15. We haven't actually seen him kill any of Rebekah's love interests so far. Klaus didn't seem to have any problem with Rebekah dating Stefan in the 1920s until Mikael found them and he wanted to flee and didn't think they could take Stefan with him because Stefan wasn't being low-enough profile. He never seemed to take issue with her being with Matt either. Other than Marcel I can't think of any other love interests she'd had on the show (aside from that time she hooked-up with Damon which Klaus didn't seem to care at all about either). We did get that flashback to 1114 when he killed Alexander but considering Alexander and the other hunters daggered all five of them he obviously wasn't in love with Rebekah and was just playing her.

I do think the issue with Hayley is that Klaus has already slept with her and that he got her pregnant though more than anything else. If Elijah had showed up in early Season 4 when Hayley was introduced on TVD and declared his undying love for her Klaus might not have cared at all.

  16. "We haven't actually seen him kill any of Rebekah's love interests so far."
Tell that to the poor guy Klaus chucked off a balcony in a flashback earlier this season.

"Klaus didn't seem to have any problem with Rebekah dating Stefan in the 1920s"
Why would he? He was Klaus' friend too. Stefan spent just as much time with Klaus as he did with Rebekah, if not more.

"He never seemed to take issue with her being with Matt either."
Klaus was on to something there. He didn't take it seriously and Matt obviously didn't either. Nothing serious came out of that relationship at all. Just a meaningless summer fling.

Rebekah had two serious relationships - the dead guy from the flashback who wanted to marry Rebekah and Marcel. One he killed and one he has tried to kill and failing that made his life miserable and took everything away from him.

  17. I don't consider Emil to be an actual love interest. He was on the show for all of 5 seconds. We know nothing about him aside from the fact that he and Marcel were both sons of The Governor. Rebekah could have known him for 2 days for all we know.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Duration doesn't matter. He wanted to marry her and the show made it clear that Rebekah certainly wanted the same thing. That was the whole point of the flashback. It's there and it happened. The fact that it didn't take an entire story arc to explain doesn't diminish its significance in Rebekah's life. There was only one flashback to Elijah's time with Celeste and that relationship certainly had a pivotal role in Elijah's life and, as it turns out, Klaus' as well.

  19. Finally klaus said what i was saying all along, he shouldn't refer to himself or let others call him Mikaelson. It always bothered me, he hated Mikael so much he didn't want to be called by his full real first name but somehow was completely ok with flaunting Mikael's son around, putting it on invitation cards, letters etc. Ohhh writers, why you so dumb?
Elijah choosing to finally take whatever he wants doesn't have the expected shocking reaction. His reasons and motivation are so unclear, unless the wolves with which Klaus conspired (Jackson and Oliver) were the ones to attack Hayley (which they obviously weren't) him pushing Klaus against the wall for helping them with moon rings has absolutely no reasonable explanation. Klaus wants werewolf supremacy, Elijah is a pansy who wants to hide his head in the sand and pretend that every faction will be ok with each other. Nice tactic.

  20. He didn't want to marry her - he wanted to be turned into a vampire. Alexander (the vampire hunter who tried to blow up Matt in Graduation) told her he wanted to marry her but it turned out he was just playing her and he wound up daggering her instead (and it seemed like she had never seen them before in her life and had no idea what they did so it was his fault that the daggers entered her life to begin with). He probably planned to dump her body along with her brothers at the bottom on the sea - that's not love.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Alexander was a dick. There's no question about that. That leads into another part of Rebkeah's life that has nothing to do with Klaus - really crappy treatment from guys. That girl has a really bad track record with the opposite sex.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree there. Rebekah seems to fall head over heels for almost every guy who crosses her path and we have yet to see any guy really love her. I think Marcel was using her (if he had really loved her he would have left with her like she wanted him to), Stefan liked her but he was indifferent a lot of the time and was cool with killing her and her entire family in Season 3 because he'll always put Elena (and Damon) before everything else, Matt also seemed to warm up to her but I think Matt also would have always chosen Elena as well.

I actually think that has a lot to do with her relationship with Klaus though. He's seen her fall for all these guys century after century who never really love her back and end up using her or are plotting against her (as well as against her brothers). So I think he got to the point where he wanted to protect her from all these men who she's too naive to realize don't love her and from Rebekah's POV Klaus is standing in the way of her happiness and she blames him for a lot of her failed relationships.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't think Klaus' motivations are anywhere near that pure but protecting her probably does play a part in it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Klaus has always considered Mikael to be his father. Even when Mikael was talking to Marcel in 1919 he said "My son Niklaus" - so it's not just on Klaus' end. Mikael might not be his biological father (which he didn't even know until after he was turned into a vampire and ate someone which caused him to trigger his werewolf gene) but Mikael is the only father he's ever known.

  25. I'm a little confused with what made Elijah abruptly change his mind about Klaus but perhaps the baby's imminent birth might have Elijah rethinking his "always and forever" loyalty. Then again, Elijah is a hypocrite in that, as much as he claims to be about family, Elijah excused Klaus' daggering of their siblings (Finn, Kol, even Rebekah). I wonder if the show will ever address WHY Elijah was so loyal to Klaus and not Kol, Finn, or Rebekah. And how Elijah seems to have a knack for falling for women who are connected to Klaus in some way (except maybe Celeste). Tatia, Katherine, Hayley...all had connections with Klaus before Elijah showed interest. But still, hot damn, I love when Elijah is PO'ed. He wears simmering rage as well as he wears Tom Ford.

  26. Hayley just seems to be ripping these two apart and neither are noticing ,if this was mystic falls in season 4 Elijah wouldn't of even blinked at her then all of a sudden there all up close and personal like they've known each other forever and what makes it worse is that she's having Klaus's baby. And I understand Klaus wants to know his werewolf family buts he's just destroying the Mikaelson's
by betraying Elijah AGAIN!! And now it even looks like Klaus likes Hayley to , I mean at the beginning of the show before it started JP said that The Originals would be based on family not a love triangle like TVD but now its like she's just going back on that and creating one. Like no one wants that and don't even get me started on how wrong the Hayley and Elijah romance is its like the girl is having YOUR niece like EWWW!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. There is something quite refreshing seeing Elijah kinda sorta give up on Klaus and Klaus seemingly realising he might no longer be able to take Elijah's faith in his redemption for granted.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well Klaus did shaft Elijah, undermine him, could possibly have helped to start a future war, and betray him, so I'd say Elijah's pretty justified. Since all of these things would threaten the originals' control over the city, and possibly put the child in harms way. Kidnapping sounds like a bit of a stretch.

  29. I don't really feel like he drove Rebekah away. Rebekah obviously wanted to leave for a long time. She tried to have him killed (which Klaus didn't find out about until now) and all she's done the entire time she's been in NOLA is complain about how much she hates it and how she wanted to leave so I am surprised she stayed as long as she did since she was so disinterested from the beginning - going back to the backdoor pilot when she had no interest in going back to NOLA to begin with (and decided to go hang out with Matt in Europe to begin with and not follow Klaus and Elijah down there).

I'm sorry but I think Elijah lusting after the mother his brother's child is just gross and I always will. I think the only reason he's interested in Hayley to begin with is because Klaus knocked up her. If he had met her back on TVD in 4x03 or whenever it was that Klaus did I don't think he would have been interested in her - she was a complete stranger to him but the second Sophie told him that Klaus had knocked her up suddenly he immediately started making moon-eyes at her. They had no build-up at all - Elijah was into her in five seconds solely because of the baby.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Agreed about Haley and Elijah, it's gross but after she has the tribrid I have no problem with it, but I don't think he wants to bang her because she's preggers with his brother's child. I mean sure it facilitated their meeting and his eventual falling for her beauty, and personality by letting him get to know her, and it definitely drove him to protect and care about her, but there isn't really any indication that it is why he is attracted to her emotionally and physically, so I'd have to disagree on that. On Rebekah I'd say yes she wanted to leave all along, but Klaus' actions were the catalyst that caused her to finally leave him and Elijah.
