  1. Every week I keep waiting for the "Charlie is Miles' daughter" reveal and it never comes. Definitely writing a fic.

Badass!Charlie is badass. Did not like Rachel's attitude about her at all. And way to screw up, Monroe.

    Great episode!

  4. What a great episode...Monroe is back to his killing self..doesn't look good but gets the job done. Miles and Gene being off together, with Miles obviously hating it and being in rare form. Loved the episode and loved the intense scene between Gene and Miles when Gene was trying to find out why Miles is fighting. I think Gene is on the right track, hopefully Miles will realize it soon as well.

  5. Rachel is right though. Ever since the Tower along with Danny and Nora's deaths Charlie lost her innocence and has been slowly loosing her "humanity" since, as she takes unnecessary risks believing she can not survive in this world, using it as an excuse to say very little matters.

It's a common idea that people shouldn't think about the future in war time (and young people sometimes think that way anyways), but the truth is that for all of the people that do survive the first parts of their lives, sometimes they wish they would have spent more time doing the right thing and preparing for a possible future than wasting it all away for a thrill that doesn't last a life time.

  6. Another good episode

Not sure if I believe that Duncan is dead, especially since we did not get to see her die. I also don't trust her number two for some reason either...(I'm wondering if there is a third player on the scene??)

Liked how Charlie tried to give Conner advice, while Rachel tried to give Charlie advise.

Cool to see 24 and LOST alumni Reiko Aylesworth in a rather similar role to Amy "Goodspeed"...but too bad we haven't seen her act with Elizabeth Mitchell again yet...

According to the next episode Austen City Limits someone major is going to die. looking at the press release for the episode it looks like it could sadly be Jason since it says he "makes a stand", which would parallel him to Danny...

But if I'm lucky enough that Jason makes it and it's someone else, my bets are on Gene. Even though the bullet may have in fact went through, doesn't mean that it didn't hit a vital organ or that he/the wound can't get infected...

Personally, except for the Charlie/Conner facet, don't see the point of killing Jason. He's integral to Tom's story and he's the one character that really doesn't deserve to die and who I actually think stands for something good, despite Charlie has hardened herself and her perspective. Obviously writers can effectively use character deaths well sometimes, but this death only seems to serve process of elimination love interests and a way to make Tom even more loathsome than before...

  8. I agree, I think it will be either Gene or Jason who dies...which is playing it safe. For the shock/drama effect I would love to see Charlie or Rachel die (Miles and Monroe are too important to the story)...Charlie would be too obvious after the preview so that would leave Rachel. Her death would really push the story forward as Miles would probably turn back to his dark side (as he did after Emma's death) before waking up again and realizing why he really fights. But I have my doubts they are brave enough to go there and from some of the things said in the interviews, Rachel is here to stay. Gene's death might make Rachel go all out on a revenge trip again (like she did after Danny's death) and it would be interesting if Miles and her switch roles and he becomes HER voice of reason or humanity and again by doing so, finds his real reason to fight.
Not sure what Jason's death would actually accomplish..they have made him the most unimportant character in this season which is a shame as his character had lots of potential as well.

  9. I'm not sure how much Rachel's death would move the story forward, because as you said it would set Miles back (and maybe Charlie too), but it also depends on how much story we really have to go.

I mean if we had another full season, then I think they could get away with that and start over either with Charlie and or another love interest to push the characters forward yet again, but more over I think the idea is that Rachel, Miles, and Charlie are a second chance of a broken family, -a family that has been living on a lot of lies and it's cost them (Danny, Ben, Maggie, Nora + the black out + nukes)...

So if that's the case, then you don't want to take Rachel away, because fixing their family and becoming the family they never really let themselves be is a metaphor for saving this reality and fighting for really meaningful things, including a better future for Charlie and her generation. So far all of Bad Robot's works end on a bitter-sweet pro-humanism note, so I don't think we should expect anything too dark.

  10. Yes, I agree with you. Rachel won't die..it will be either Jason (the least problematic one) or Gene (which could put Rachel into full revenge mode again). But from the shock effect (ala Danny's death) as well of a gutsy move, Rachel would be a good person to die because they pretty much have made her ineffective this season (except that she has become so annoying). I do hope she will join up with Aaron..she is best when she is in her scientific mode and I see this as her real purpose on the show. The love story with Miles is only secondary and has been treated as such as we only see glimpses and pieces of it every few episodes (thank goodness). I just thought of her dying when I saw the little snippet of her and Miles obviously saying good-bye before he leaves for Austin and thought, well in movies this scene means one of them dies :).
If it is Jason...will anybody even notice and miss him? He has been really neglected this season in my opinion and I was never a fan of his ;).
I like Gene but I have felt for some time that his time has come..and yes his death would affect the characters (at least three of the main ones) the most, especially now that he has made some sort of peace with Miles.

  11. I'll miss Jason, because I always liked him and felt he stood for something really good (and represents the better part of Charlie), but much like Danny, just is stuck in an impossible situation. But Tom and Jason have served as a kind of subplot to the first half of this season, but now it's panning over, because the Patriots that Tom and Jason come across are the political ring leaders and I love how they are now apart of Truman's arc and the way we have seen Truman explored very slowly into this great character. Everything is finally about to twist I think.

I don't find Rachel annoying at all. I find her a women who's recovering from a lot of bad choices made (and not all choices were her fault alone) and is starting to wake up and remember herself, which extends itself to Miles and Charlie. There all kind of dancing around each other from bizarre chain reactions and I find that interesting.
