  1. So glad this show is back! I missed it a lot during the hiatus.

    Love that

  2. Nice to see Ruby again (even if it was only for 5 seconds).

  3. Awesome episode. Got me so excited for the rest of the season. I had no issues with the episode.

  4. Computers too. There are ways of finding out what date it is online.

I can't wait to see more flashbacks to the Enchanted Forest.

I hope too that it doesn't take too long for Henry to regain his memories.

  5. She was just hanging around in the opening scene :)

  6. Awesome to some level I can't describe right now. I missed it so much I need a day and a re-watch to compose proper thoughts.

  7. I wonder then, if they put her in via CGI or something?

    ReplyDelete
  8. They were together for around eight months I think. I'm pretty sure she more than "probably" got freaky with the monkey. ;)

  9. I'm sure the wicked witch made them forget so they wouldn't know who to look out for. Sending flying monkeys to cause trouble though might be giving herself away though. Not so clever.

  10. Definitely wasn't a stand in. Most likely CGI.

  11. Sending flying monkeys wouldnt be the perfect way to stay hidden.

  12. The episode is amazing

  13. Thanks for the confirmation. Quick on the draw man, I love it!

  14. Why did you put that last image in my head? Damn your infernal logic!!!

  15. It was good, but I felt the episode sacrificed a lot of insight for plot progression. I wish we had seen a lot more of Emma's life so when she decided to drink the potion it would have been a choice of truth vs happiness instead of just plot progression; I mean, for Emma it was a choice of truth vs happiness, but it stroke me as just getting things going.

  16. Awesome episode!

Woah at Walsh turning out to be a flying monkey! That must have been horrifying for Emma.

I can't wait till we find out where Rumple escaped to in the next few episodes! I miss him.

My only flaw with the episode was Emma regaining her memories so fast! I would have thought she would lose her memory for at least a few more episodes. Oh well.

Awww at Snow being pregnant! So cute.

Overall, a great way to set up the second half of the season. Can't wait for more of The Wicked Witch of the West next week! Bring it!

  17. great return ep! Loved how they wove everything together and really liked that Snow and Regina settled their differences and that they are a team/family now...interesting bits with Emma (nice to see her in skirts for a change, but the skin tight jeans will probably return soon) and that freaky flying Walsh-simian... really good to have the show back and am looking forward to the rest of the season

  18. I need to stay away from the promotion of ouat next time... I was expecting the worst for this ep but it was actually really amazing! They need to stop pushing the promotion of the ships and start focusing on what makes Ouat awesome in the first place :)

  19. Everything was awesome = 10/10

  20. Didn't need Paps for that as everyone should have remembered that she was still filming Intelligence when Once Upon a Time was filming this episode.

  21. Couple things
1st - its the 1st time in a long time that I was actually pleased with an OUAT ep. Since season 2 I have felt the show slowly getting less impressive every week it seemed. I still like it, but it doesn't wow me like it did in season 1. Tonight, it grabbed a little bit of that spark back.
2nd - Perhaps the fact it seemed to have a little bit of that season 1 magic again is why I actually found Henry's character a bit more interesting this ep than I have in a long time.
This episode actually made me a little more interested in the next few episodes than I was going into the mid-season finale.

  22. Awesome episode. I don't have anything other to say.

  23. A great start to the second half of the season,it was almost as good as season one!

  24. Well if nobody remembers than who's to say it was a give a way?

  25. It was an okay episode. I keep expecting them to make Hook less gross but they don't. His line about knowing Emma better than she knows herself was just so not good. They need to stop writing Hook like every stereotype of slimy men who don't have any respect for the women they're trying to bang.

I really liked Robin and Regina's meet cute. And the Snow/Regina scenes were surprisingly good considering how badly Snow's character has been mangled.

That is so funny you made me laugh LOL you know that most people probs thought that too when we realised that he wasn't human - a great episode but next weeks looks a lot better!.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's true but since Henry is out of it memory wise I don't think his knowledge would come in handy, unless it's somewhere in his book for the others to see. Regina was not aware of what the flying monkey's were so maybe she doesn't know the Wicked Witch, in her new form, they may have encountered before she was green if that's the back story.

  28. I felt cheated it was not an 2 hour event! Well at least they are all back in Storybrooke,

I have to admit, I was nervous about watching this mid-season premiere for fear that it wouldn't live up to the standards of the fantastic previous episode, but it turned out to be everything I had hoped for. (And now, no more breaks! WOOOT!)

I really liked the way they re-introduced everything - Emma's memories, Storybrooke, and so on. Emma's disbelief lasted just long enough, and the chain of events which convinced her to drink the potion made perfect sense. That flying-monkey-boyfriend reveal was...startling, to say the least. I find it very intriguing that the Witch's power reaches into this world while nobody else, even Rumple, was able to get here without the strongest magic possible. I imagine she has some kind of link to this reality that will be explored further as time goes on, possibly tying into the original Wizard of Oz tale.

Also, Jared's acting was much better this time around. I had been hoping initially that he would get shelved for a while and not included on the return trip to Storybrooke, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of him now. His character has changed in an interesting way due to the altered memories. Frankly, he's less annoying now that he's not the credulous, naive innocent that everybody was constantly trying to protect. I would be happy for his memories not to come back for a while.

  30. LOVE! I'll be incredible happy if the rest of the season are as good as the last two have been!

Fun to see Felicity and Ugly Betty alumni Christopher Gorham!
People turning into Flying Monkeys?! Sounds like William Bell is at it again ;)
And was that a Sex in the City reference with the "furniture store"???

Kind of wish we would of had one more episode to see Emma's NYC's life, but it was also nice to see her able to catch up to her parents and not draw it out to long.

Nice parallel with Emma switched with Neal's former role!

Jared Gilmore proved again he's a better actor than some think.

Regina, Snow's, and Robin Hood scenes = heart

Looking forward to a more season 1-like format for the rest of the season.
(Can't wait till we see where Rumple is too!!) And gosh I don't want anyone to die!!

  31. Well it will be interesting to see how much of that they will really gloss over. Henry still doesn't know, which could juxtaposed him with Emma's season one role and that might be a lot of fun, let alone if Emma will struggle with two sets of memories and/or if the writers will also flashback her year as well...

  32. "They need to stop writing Hook like every stereotype of slimy men who don't have any respect for the women they're trying to bang."

Right, but that is who Hook has been...We see from the flashback that Emma's rejection and going back to a place where he isn't from basically makes him reset back to a villain and less of an anti-hero and for Hook, being this rock-star-pirate stereotype is his defence mechanism. It's the only way he knows how to deal with loss, rejection, and pain, but when it gets down to it, we see him constantly come through...It's also this reset that worried me about his fate.

  33. It was. The first part was a kind of overview and probably a look ahead (I didn't watch it) with the writers/producers. It just it wasn't a two-hr episode.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Huh? We've only ever seen him being a stereotype of a slimy man so there's no "coming through"

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maybe we will get it in flashbacks...? Because we'll for sure get flashbacks of what happened during the year back at the Enchanted Forest...

  36. Why did they even bother showing Red in the group shot when they arrived in the EF, only to make her vanish again?

  37. I thought you might be interested in this. This is from the same fans ( us) who tweeted and bombarded Fox, Kevin Reilly and advertisers keeping Fringe on the air for a 5th season. Never know it helped once it could help again..

  38. I've missed this show a lot during the hiatus. I think it got back to a great start.

This Oz arc is already starting out better than the Peter Pan arc. There's mystery, danger, action, character moments, and a villain that already seems like she (and her flying monkeys) are actually something to be afraid of.

I like all the character introspection and interactions for several of the characters, especially Regina, Emma, and Snow. I'm glad the show is delving again into Regina and Snow's relationship. I like that they're tenuously getting along and working together.

And finally, the FTL flashbacks are useful again! I think the show is really clever to do this one year mystery, just for the FTL flashbacks actually being new scenes now.

This was an awesome start to season 3B. Despite the long hiatus, I really like how they made this season like two smaller, separate seasons, with separate story arcs. It really does give the show a sense of purpose, and makes it feel like the story and characters are working towards something.

  39. Well, now we can say, "remember when Emma was almost engaged to a flying monkey?" ;)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I only noticed Red being there on rewatching the episode. It IS nice that the show did that, because it's really noticeable when she's not there.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Loved this episode and I'm glad this show is finally back. I missed it!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Glad it's back. So Emma's boyfriend turned out to be a flying monkey. Think she spanked him?

    ReplyDelete
  43. She was actually in the episode..she spoke with Snow in the forest…so she was there for more than 30 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think you are referring to this past Sunday's episode, "Witch Hunt", in which yes, Red/Ruby was seen in both FTL's Enchanted Forest, and at the Storybrooke diner. I am referring to actual scenes from the previous episode, "New York City Serenade", which this page we're commenting on, is about.
