  1. Tom just became a much more interesting character, but dang it! Did he have to kill Lance Reddick's character? I didn't really care for the main plot, but I liked the character development it gave Ressler.

  2. Awesome episode!

Red reaching out to Ressler shows a lot about his character.
I loved Red watching the ballet and visualizing his daughter dancing in it years ago!
    Touching moment!

    Damn!
Can't an Asian man be something other than a scientist or Yakuza?
Maybe a cross-dressing computer hacker and identification forger? Oh wait... Been there, done that! XD
Hoon Lee has some serious vocal skills! The voice he used for Mako was creepy!

I have a little more repect for Tom since he took out Cowboy and Jolene!
HE did what he needed to be done to keep his cover intact without hesitation. Kudos.

Maybe we will meet Jolene's boss at some point (if we haven't already) now that she is dead..
    That could get interesting!

  3. ETA:
I think this episode was more proof that the Stewmaker took Red's daughter.
The photos look remarkably similar to me, albeit maybe aged a few years...

Poor Kessler, talk about kicking a guy while he's down. Losing his gf and then finding out she might have been pregnant. I did like that they forged a bond between Kessler and Reddington.

  5. I'm surprised they killed off Jolene. By the way they set up her character I thought she would have had a bigger role.

  6. What a way to elevate the whole series into another dimension! Excellent episode. Probably the best of the season in my book. Red didn't have a lot of screen time in this episode but he still had that overwhelming presence. I can't think of another character who has that presence even when he isn't there.

  7. Why would he take so many years to kill her?

  8. I did not expect Jolene to be killed off. This was Tom and Ressler's best performance for this episode!! I was shocked Ressler's former friend was behind the murder of Audrey even though Tanida was the one that shot her. Thankfully, the bad guys died. It was funny at the end when Redington got revenge on Tanida. Overall, a wonderful episode! I can't believe we have to wait 6 days untilt he next episode!!

  9. I agree! I would have love to see more Jolene. It would've been awesome if her and Liz faced off! Too bad that won't happen.

  10. Great episode. I am glad they are back to Tom's story.
Poor Ressler, loosing Audrey, but it was really stupid of her to get out of the car during a shootout.
Red is a complete psycho, sending Ressler Tanida's head in a trunk.

  11. I´m already missing Banshee SO much, so it was just amazing to see Job/Hoon Lee on The Blacklist. As always he was brilliant!
Also, when Tom took his glasses of to kill Jolene, I couldn´t help thinking of Burton. :-) (well, Tom is no where near as interesting as Burton....but still).

  12. "I did not expect Jolene to be killed off" -- I know, that was really shocking. Especially after all the work they took to introduce her and make her mysterious. When Cowboy Hat told Jolene what was going to happen - I thought that she was going to make a miraculous escape.

  13. So did I! The Blacklist knows how to bring great twists to every scene. Just when you think this will happen based on the promos, it's a total different thing in that episode. I love how NBC markets that show! Thank goodness NBC renewed it for a second full season before the new year!

  14. i don't see well- did anyone catch the credits- who were the dancers? did anyone see what was printed on the program red was holding?
    as usual, spader is brilliant!

  15. He did not wait 3 years to kill her.

1987 was when all was well in Red's life and his daughter performed the ballet, but the event that caused Red to go underground was Christmas of 1990. I assume that is when the Stewmaker took her...

  16. The program was for the same ballet , but in 1987.

The one dancer noted that their sponsor's own daughter performed the ballet years ago (Red's daughter).

  17. Jolene's purpose was to expose Tom for who he really is. Mission accomplished, job done. She was unneeded after that.

  18. Ha! I thought of Burton too!

I was loving Banshee all year, but wondered where it was going all and then the finale! Now I want more like right now! XD

  19. HEre's a cap.

  20. I thought she would have a bigger role because of Red's intense interest in her. He went to all that trouble to look her up on the FBI database, and then he gave that speech about how she faked her death to elude him, and then all of a sudden she gets snuffed out by Tom. There should have been more to the character than simply being a means of exposing Tom's true nature.

there should be series consequences for Tom and what he did.....double murder and no way he get away with it. This was Resseler center episode more than Liz who was really in the background

  22. I think everyone is confused ! XD

We only have a partial backstory and incomplete details about Red's past so it is hard to know anything with any certainty.

We know that is connected to Red's family...
    [Episode 1.01]
    - Red had a seemingly happy life until Christmas 1990.

    [Episode 1.04]
    - We know he stole a photo of an "unknown" girl that was dated 12- 90 from the Stewmaker's keepsake book.

    [Episode 1.07]
    - They lived in a house he later bought and burned down.
(assumed to be the house where his wife was murdered)

    [Episode 1.14]
    - He told a story to Madeline Pratt about finding his family in a roomful of blood etc. (Most likely true, but no evidence)

    [Episode 1.16]
    - We learned Red's daughter performed Swan Lake and that he now funds that ballet company.

Of course we know other vague details about Red's past, but I think that is all we know directly connected to his family before he went underground.

  24. one amazing episode we really see some character development on Ressler i didnt see that betrayal coming, Tom was great when he goes on killing mode it`s a totally diferent character the guy is a really good actor, but one again Red's performance was incredible, that speech at the end, and when the girls started to play the Swan Lake god that was really good.

  25. The guy who plays the villain is great on Banshee from the STARZ network.

  26. Audrey's death was so obvious. She could be an FBI agent in The Following season 1 - 'There's a man with a gun. I know, let's walk towards the direction of the gun and not try to hide in the slightest' Why are so many tv characters brain dead?

    ReplyDelete
  27. You're right. I got confused about her age and gave that to the year she was killed. The last marking on Red's house wall of his daughter height was 3 years old so I figured that's when she was killed. Some of the info they've been giving us isn't adding up. Maybe it will make sense once we have the whole picture, but right now I'm utterly confused.
