  1. That was particularly brutal...makes me wonder what the rest of the season will look like….

  2. Shock value or what? OMG. First of all, guarantee Syfy will edit that sex scene with Nick. They've been cutting all that out all season.

Cain and Clay, never expected it to go that far. OMG.

This eps feels like it drove Clay and Elena further apart. Wondering if they will ever get back together at this point.

I think I'm in shock with this ep.

  3. I don't see how it was necessary to castrate Cain, if he was just going to kill him anyway. But I guess it was to set an example. I didn't think they would go there. Also didn't expect Nick's sex scene to be so porno. I guess they're trying to compete with True Blood.

  4. really good ep, complete with the sexy times and the ouchy times... (snip... :( felt a bit bad for Cain, and was kinda wondering if Clay was going to let Cain live but still with the castration as punishment for his part in the earlier killings... but I can't think that Cain would be too forgiving.... still, with the way that Clay turned down help with Cain's body, I wonder if he did let him live for some reason... I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

  5. I'm still wondering if he did let Cain live. That or he just didn't want Nick to see what he did to Cain. I don't know.

  6. They are following the basic plot of the first book. The spoilers are in the episode list summaries on IMDB. If you click each future ep's title, you can find the full expanded summary on its page. Clay and Elena don't seem to get together in any of the summaries. But we do not have a summary for the finale, and I think if they continue to go with the basic plot, we'll get payoff in the finale.

I do agree, this ep was hard on Clay. And it makes it harder to like him now. I also found the four year timeline confusing. Somehow, I thought she was only bitten a year ago, and then she just told Clay it was four years ago? That was confusing. And it makes no sense that she is still bashing him over the head for biting her after four whole years.

  7. I find Clay to be perfectly likable. It's Elena and others contradicting the rules. Ep 2 was it they explained all the mythology of this wolf series on how they kill Humans if they find know the secret and more. And this episode Elena just lets her go and tells Clay about true love between Cane and the human... Elena is not being realistic in her supernatural world. I mean ok your mad at Clay for turning. But being in a relationship with a human and trying to be humans when you are a werewolf is pointless. If she loves the humans does she think they will be together forever marry and what not... Oh what's gonna happen in 15 years when he is 50 or something and she still looks in her late 20s... Yea what then tell me. Tell him ur secret . Hey look what you just did u broke the rule now someone will kill him unless you turn him. And hey look now ur with a werewolf again.... Ok ...

Also another thing since last episode that started bothering me was the crack in the werewolf mythology in this series. Last to episode felt like many of the stuff they did humans can do and that's like pointless. Main flaw was werewolf without rapid regeneration... Oh let me doctor that wound for you... Really
Then the power balance... Even with the ambush the alpha and the experienced werewolf could not adequately handle the rookie must and Santos with ease and force. What good is you being a werewolf if you cans handle your self in hand to hand combat against knifes....

I like this series but it has flaws and makes me worry about future seasons if this is all werewolf's can do granted we have not seen much in their wolf form yet.
However it is Clay right now doing it right.

  8. In the books this storyline is 10 years post bite, and she's STILL bashing him over the head for it :-). Its one of the things that I find distinctly unlikeable about Elena, even after she's "forgiven" him, and they have supposedly moved on, she still finds little ways to make him pay.

I don't really have a problem with how Clay is being portrayed - perhaps he was so brutal because of the way Cain gloated about Pete's death, rather than the fact that he was simply involved in his death?

I am quite keen for the Clay and Elena relationship to move forward, and I'd be grateful if Phillip could just fall out of a high rise office window with devastating (not) consequences. I don't mind that the story is detouring away from the books, it keeps it interesting, but if there is a season 2 and Phillip is still around, I wont be!

  9. Aside from that castration scene, I thought the episode was pretty good. I don't blame Elena for still being mad at Clay for biting her. What is the appropriate amount of time to get over something like that? She has to live with what he did for the rest of her life. Also, finding out that Cain loved his girlfriend too much to want to risk trying to turn her, must have hurt too. I oscillate between liking Clay and disliking Clay. What made the castration part worst was that it was partially fueled by his fight with Elena.

I haven't read the books so I really don't care that they're not sticking strictly to the story, especially since the changes made seem to enrich the plot. I really don't care that Elena and Clay haven't "hooked up" yet like in the books. I'm sure it will eventually happen and I like that they're not making the story revolve around the romance. I also like the subplot with Phillip finding her necklace with her clothing (which I'm guessing didn't happen in the book) and lastly, I think the story with Logan having a kid is also interesting. It sounds like his father wanted to hide Logan's birth from the pack until he was 16 and that Logan will probably try to do the same thing, which means that he's now trying to distance himself from the pack so that they don't find out.

I get that the pack has all these rules, but these same rules are causing the pack to dissolve:. Making the life of a mutt miserable for not wanting to be with a pack, killing humans if they find out their secret, insisting that newborn males grow up without their mothers, etc. etc. For someone like Clay, who was basically raised by the pack, it's probably easier for him to follow these rules because the pack is the only family her really had, but for many of the other werewolves (like Cain), these rules must feel like a prison.

  10. Werewolves fighting with knives and guns when they should have super strength and claws bugs me, too. Plus, they should heal faster. I think they just want to have a mafia/werewolf show instead of real werewolves.

I hope Elena gives up her fantasy of living with Philip as a human forever.

  11. I'm pretty sure she was bitten four years ago but she let a year ago for Toronto. IN one episode, the mutt claimed that Elena and Clay kept the mutts at bay for 2 years together then Clay by himself for one year (which didn't go too well). And most likely for the first year, he helped her with her becoming a wolf. It was 4 years.

  12. I find Clay not likeable at all, with all he has done to Elena + the fact that he only has 1 facial expression...
Elena couldn't really kill Amber with 2 mutts around could she? Besides the pack rules aren't necessarily the rules Elena wants to follow. She is not the type to just go up to a human and kill her, that would be so out of character for her.
They have fast regeneration, just not super unrealistic instant vampire regeneration, just a bit enhanced.
Agreed and not agreed, yes poor fighting skills there, but the fact that they are vulnerable just like any other creator for knives/guns makes it much more realistic and the stakes much higher.

  13. Yeah it was very brutal, but exactly because of that, I don't think
he's dead. I think this was the punishment instead of death, because
Amber and a future family was more important to Cain than his life...
It's very cruel but rules are rules, and Clay is defo a rule-stickler.

  14. I'm maybe evil but I'm a little happy that she at least stopped smiling all the time like a clown when she speaks with him pretending she's the happiest girl ever. And I'm also glad they didn't pull the 'I'm going home and I won't come back' ep ending again, it really started to piss me off and felt kinda predictable and boring, too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. when it comes to that sex scene.. the actress just didn't look comfortable at all.. which made it totally unbelievable.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm pretty sure she knows the rule is important for her to mention it like she did. Also no she did not have to let her go if she had just stopped and questioned her in the trailer house where she first found her. There was no point on following her to a public place...
And now that Cane may be dead doesn't that make it more likely for the humans girl to tell the world out of revenge ?

Also I don't mean vamp fast healing but just the right amount where it is noticeable say next day.

And the fighting does not become realistic when they are supposed to be in a supernatural world as supernatural being. Just was trying. To point out what will happen then they face other creatures or won't they ? Idk I haven't read ahead.

  17. I liked this episode. Clay talking to Cain about their desires for a somewhat normal life as werewolves, a woman to love, kids, a long life, was poignant. I empathized with both. Cain, has no regard for honor. He tells Clay he did what he did to protect his woman (someone clearly as dishonorable as he, and gung ho for Cain establishing his own pack). Clay exacted the type of punishment, Cain deserved as he was just as responsible, for Pete and Antonio's death (actually gloated about Pete's death). Cain clearly is/was a follower so, I honestly don't think Cain was against, taking out the Pack. The mutts no about Clay and what he did to Elena, so I suspect, the mutts no the weakness of each pack member (Amber seemed to know the Clay/Elena story, as well).
I felt bad for Elena, the first time ever, as she talked with Amber, and Amber expressed how much Cain loved her, and did not want to risk her life. So to Elena, Clay did not love her. He did not tell her who he is, and trust her to stay with him. Elena's doing the same thing to Phil. Phil always tell her he love her, she says me too. Or, she evades it altogether. So, I am glad Clay told her, "what they have IS the real thing, or not. It is up to her to decide". Good for him. I think he bit her out of panic, and, has regretted it ever since. Of course she want let him forget it, either. I frankly whish he could move on. Enforcer's do what they have to.
Phil, someone is leading him to discovering who Elena is. I wonder if it's the mutts. Or, that cowardly Daniel who I think is doing all of this because he want Elena to himself. This is I bet what all this mutt stuff, is. But Daniel, has mislead the mutts. I also find it curious, that Karl said he was just a rider on the mutt train. Lol, he only wants territory. Did I hear that wrong? Wow.
    Team Clay. I hope there's a 2nd season. :)

  18. The taxi was waiting for Amber outside (at that point E. didn't know Kane had revealed their identity yet) + I assumed that Elena wanted to follow A. to maybe find the other mutts. If she had tried to follow and kill after the diner, Karl and LeBlonc would logically have tried to stop her.

Maybe you should rewatch last 2 eps, Jeremy's wound is nearly healed only after 1 day, it is the poison that kept him down.

Making Werwolves so fast as speeding bullets or basicly humans so weak that they can never beat supernaturals is really boring and yes, unrealistic. This world is described in a way (in the books atleast), that the different supernatural creatures are evolved through time into what they are now. Besides the fights we have seen so far have been between wolves, not between wolf and human.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She was tracking her for info and the taxi can wait to have a chat.

I saw the would patched up and healed enough that it's not bleeding but it should have been covered. While poison still remaining would have been ok.

When you claim to be part of the pack and an alpha you should have a bit more experience and strength or else what's the point.

Now I don't know what time of series this is going to be fighting or investigative but in the book don't they have witches half daemons necromancy and what not? How would conflict between them be handle.

    ReplyDelete
  20. like I said, she was trying see if Amber was going to lead her to the muts. The taxi indicated she was going some place specific, easier to follow someone then to torture the info out of her. (time vs info) Also she promised Clay she wouldn't take any risks, approaching Amber in a public place is not a risk or atleast one she wanted to take.

About the wound: come on, your not gonna complain about that are you? lets say Jeremy is almost/fully healed next episode? Then that would still be a 100 times faster then a human would heal from a gun shot.

First book is only wolves and humans, only in the other books are there other supernaturals. The wolves handle themselves just fine, but not any better then the other creatures.

  21. Someone down here wrote they are finding it hard to like Clay but for me it's Jeremy, i am still deciding on. I love the actor, and i am biased because i like him so much, but if he was played by someone else i think i would really hate the character by now.
So many dumb things happened so far and the only explanation is that those are the rules they have to abide. For example antonio died because they wouldn't take him to the hospital, his injuries weren't even that dangerous, the doctors would patch him up. You don't let a family member bleed out unnesessary especially in times of war, simply because there would be some questions asked by the police.
The pack is not really a pack, just bunch of uncoordinated idiots running around getting picked off one by one. They keep killing people off, and i am wondering who the show will be about if they keep killing everyone off.
I am glad Clay killed at least Cain last episode. And i do hope he killed him and not just castrated, because letting him go would be very stupid.
I haven't read the books but i am glad Clay and elena are taking it slow. I don't want them to rush it, they are obviously soulmates, and it's the journey that counts not the destination.
Favorite scene is the diner one with Elena, the weird serial killer, and the other guy whatever their names are. She was breaking his arm and the other one was just smiling and being all like that's right that's how she rolls)))

  22. I agree it's a bit of a schamozzle at the moment, but the hospital thing makes sense (sort of). Its less about the police and more about humans discovering that werewolves exist. They background it a tiny bit in the books, but essentially their blood is different. If Antonio had gone to hospital there would have been blood tests, and suddenly "werewolves exist". I'm not sure they would have got him there in time anyway? They didn't actually say, but I wonder if Antonio was also affected by ricin poisoning?

In the books Clay and Elena could barely keep their paws off each other - Elena put up a token resistance in the very beginning, but there was certainly no back and forth to Toronto/Phillip. The first couple of shows were essentially quite similar to the books, but its definitely treading its own path now - Antonio shouldn't be dead, Logan shouldn't be alive (shouldn't have been in a long-term relationship either), which is good, I guess, maybe....

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh the blood being different makes sense, thanks for telling me about it, i didn't read the books. Well, in that case it would be smart if they got couple of doctors on the speed-dial ready to help and not ask questions. With Clay always having to enforce the pack ways it makes sense to be prepared for a pack member to need medical assistance. Antonio was bleeding out a lot but since he was dying for hours, a trained professional with equipment could have saved him despite ricin and gaping hole in stomach.
Logan is the guy with pregnant wife? I dislike pregnancies in TV shows, they are always boring and dragging the storylines down. I just skip the scenes with him and his pregnant wife just like i skip the Elena's boyfriend and his family scenes. I literally ain't got no time for dat)) between the work and private life and other great tv shows to be watched.
I lvoe Clay and elena but if they got together what would they do for the rest of the series? I mean i assume the mutts will get taken care of soon. Maybe some other threat will arise, but relationship wise not many characters are involved with each other seriously atm because it's only guys in the pack plus elena, unless they make Nik fall for elena too and have a triangle, there is not much to do. The girl nik had sex with last episode, is it going to be serious with her?
I found clay very likable so far, he reminds me Dean Winchester a lot. He has to do terrible things for the right reasons (debatable) but you can see he dies a little bit inside every time he tortures anyone or kills. It's not easy for him, but he is the future alpha and has to be ruthless.
The only two big mysteries right now are the mutt problem and the secret why Clay knew Elena wouldn't die from the bite.
I should really read the books but i am afraid i'll get disappointed, most young-adult books that were made into screen adaptation recently suck a lot. (Twilight, city of bones, divergent trilogy is mediocre at best) Now something called Vampire Academy is coming, havent's read it yet but the description doesn't give much hope. The only one i loved was the hunger games trilogy, the books are so much better than them movies, it's astounding.
