    Whoa, that was pretty good! And I did not know this was based on a book, but I now have to get it.

    Desmond having an American accent was weird. Threw me off every time.

    I can't remember any of the characters' names yet, but I'm interested in this Lord of the Flies type situation they have going on already. And wow at the two-headed deer. Afraid the rain is radioactive (and the river too).

    Good start! Like it better than the Tomorrow People so far.

    I liked it. I went into it thinking I was going to hate it, but I liked it. I think they have a good solid storyline going. I like that the earth has strange creatures and stuff on it. The cast isn't too bad. I can see watching the whole season of it.

    The Tomorrow People is only passable. It's never been that good. I only watch it as an extra show to watch. I agree, this was better.

    So their goal is to keep humanity alive yet they kill anyone who commits any crime no matter what as long as they are over 18. Anyone under 18 that has broken any rule or anything is locked in prison now however they are sending those under 18 to a radiation soaked planet. UHm! Hello 1. If you are trying to preserve the human race STOP KILLING EVERYONE! 2. Why lock up your youth and preserve the older people...the youth will be the ones to carry on the race, elders die sooner. 3. How will you get more kids if all your youth- those best suited and viable for reproduction are al exposed to INTENSE Radiation...You know what radiation does to the reproduction odds...its not good.

    none of these kids seem to be survivalists. Uhm instead of forming a revolution try maybe getting food and water so that you don’t die first. (Clarke had the best idea, but only got like 4 out of the other 100 to go with her. You’d think more would want to go for their own good at least.)

    Yeah, and why are their no adults at all. Uhm that could have helped with the whole maintaining order and reigning them in thing.

    Clarke just drinks the water? What. Come on look around you it could be just horrible for you. It could kill you.

    The ending: And really... They were being quite loud! Not the smartest thing ever. Jasper. I suppose given recent literature and genre movies we come in approaching the kids etc. to be just you know a bit smarter and savvy. But that’s just it at the same time here they are kids and I guess there’s not many resources in space about surviving and settling a new planet or you know prep for the 100 before setting them off.

    Yes! Thank you the first thing I thought was it might be acid rain. And they were all gungho about collecting it and drinking it. Like Clarke just drank the pond water that uhm yeah they had just saved a girl from a seamonster in. Not so smart.

    So many just ridiculous events in the pilot, but I do find the premise fairly interesting. Too bad they did not send adults instead of a pack of mostly mindless teens.


    From "We're back bitches!" to " I just wanna have fun!" to "Next time, save the girl" to "Whatever the Hell we want!" half the time It felt more like an MTV reality show than a epic Sci-Fi drama it could have been. Shame... The adult cast was pretty good otherwise.


    - Wish the water creature would have killed the vapid bimbo! She is seriously in the running for new most annoying character on TV!
    - How long before young Lou Diamond Phillips comes to his sense and quits being a moron?
    - Is it wrong that I find the non-100 far more interesting than the 100 themselves?


    C- grade from me.

    I was honestly nervous going into this show but in the end, I absolutely loved it.

    The pilot set up two very interesting storylines and already some strong characters for the show. I'm impressed.

    I wonder who shot Jasper in the chest with a spear. Makes me think that there are people living on Earth that actually survived the nuclear apocalypse which is terrifying.

    Can't wait to see them explore Earth more and the different types of dangers they face.

    Its unlikely even in a Nuclear War that every single person would die. Sure the survivors would get exposed to horribly nuclear created mutations, but its doubtful every single person would die.

    It all comes down to how much exposure you have. Im not going to get too logical/sciency in regards to a tv show, but think about the people that might be far underground or away from nuclear targets etc. Whilst they would be affected by nuclear particles travelling on air currents, they would be affect by direct nuclear explosions.

    gave it an ok... it wasn't as bad as I initially thought it would be as I thought that the premise was interesting enough. The situation on the ark (as well as the characters/cast) was generally more interesting (and better acted) than the 100 side... it definitely is a CW show with the pretty cast, somewhat over the top acting in spots, and the requisite romantic geometry already in process. I do like the idea that there are natives (mutants maybe?) that the lord of the flies society might have to band together against - I might give it a couple more eps. got a kick seeing folks from BSG and Continuum in the cast

    Alright premiere. It was interesting enough but pretty silly in parts. I wish it was a bit grittier... although I really shouldn't be surprised since its on the CW. Right now, even though I like Paige Turco and Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond!), I'd pick Tomorrow People over it. I'll stick with it though.

    Well said. I'm a big Continuum fan, as well as a lot of other Sci-Fi. Also a big Sci-Fi reader. Details make it for me, and when you can't even be bothered to get basic science right it irks me to no end. (Love Fantasy as well as history; tried Reign and gave up after 3 episodes of some of the most appalling lazy historical inaccuracy I've seen in a while).

    I understand. I'm just like agh! The kids just seem so kind of oblivious to the postion their in. The first think they should do when they get off the ship is look for the food and water like Clarke did. Because that will keep them alive. Next would be to make shelter and uhm looks like they didn't even do that. Not to mention how loud and envasive in general their being. I mean, no one is supposed to know what state the earth is in and the girl just hops off the ship and into the wild and like screams what the heck. I thought she was going to get gobbled up by a monster or something right there.

    ok but uhm. So their goal then is not keeping humans alive its maintaining the "Ark" They are willing to just off whoever they have too. They're not thinking of humanity's future anymore. Atleast not HIC's character. He was ready to off Clarkes Mom for saving their Chancellor. They kill anyone over 18 for any crime big or little. And they just sent 100 kids under the age of 18 to a radiation soaked planet that they have no knowlege of whatsoever. And they even dropped them off on the wrong mountain that actually sounds like incompetance. Idk. Seems like a few to many plot holes to me.

    If you are not particular about correct science then you will like the show. Its no fringe but I enjoyed the premiere. I liked the adults in the arc. The lead heroine is not annoying. What a surprise!!!. I will stick with the show. After watching this I dont think The Tomorrow People will get another chance. its a shame.

    Well it's definitely not Helix, Continuum or Orphan Black quality Sci - Fi action/drama, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I've read this is based on a book............so I wonder if the author of "Lord of the Flies" filed a lawsuit against the publisher/author of this? The "Dystopian Police Society" is getting way over used these days, but I guess makes sense for the setting of this story/series takes place in. The "Millennium Attitude" of the "Kids" for this setting is plain and simply.................ridiculous though(lol)! I'm invested for the next 4 or 5 episodes and as far as the "Tomorrow People" goes.................it just don't seem fair does it. 4 THE 100 PLUS 1, I am Nobody!!!

    The 100 is surprisingly not too bad, I'm enjoying it, mostly due to The Ark, it's so fascinating, for The CW it's a step up from their predictable drama, though there is similarities to Terra Nova, Lost and The Hunger Games, it's a good show. However it makes me miss Terra Nova a lot more. Hopefully it gets good ratings, but this is The CW after all.

    This didn't do it for me. I am not a Sci-Fi person and 100 is similar to other shows I didn't care for. I prefer TTP and Star Crossed.

    Thought it was somewhere between ok and good.


    It has a nice premise (very much like BSG meets Hunger Games), nice production values, but I found the plot and characters, except for Clarke and her mother a little too teen angst for my personal tastes.


    Fun to see Henry Ian Cusick, and his new accent, but not found of the character he's playing as of yet.


    I'll keep watching to see if we can get away from the over amounts of teen drama aspect into a more young adult/adult situations. I can appreciate a coming of age story where we start with characters who just simply don't know better, but learn and grow along the way...

    The premise is quite interesting, and the Fxs are not that bad for a TV show. The problem is that it instantly became a typical teenage CW show with all those cliché characters, dialogs, and reactions. Maybe I keep watching a few more eps, because the plot is what really got me interested.

    I enjoy Sci-Fi quite a bit too honestly, well... "Good" Sci-Fi!


    And you are so correct, when it comes to Sci-Fi or Historical Drama the details make or break the series.


    Lazy science in Sci-Fi is just an insult to the viewers IMO, and lazy history in Historical Drama is just as pathetic. Why set a show in a known epoch or use a distinct historical story if not going to use the historical details of the story? Those details are integral to the story as they influence all aspects of the characters and story itself.

    Right, but what any one person ever likes is what that person will continue to gauge what that person continues to like.


    A lot of people who aren't fully on board don't like it because it doesn't have elements that other shows they do like have (and that can't be helped or fully compartmentalized). But I think that anyone who slams it only after one episode, is also not being fair or rational.


    I for instance don't like the homing in on teen-drama aspect, which is why I don't watch a lot of CW shows, but wanted to give it chance to see if it can move away from that, because it does have an interesting science fiction premise and a better production values compared to other CW shows. I enjoy the lead, but hardly anyone else, even though there are few older actors I do generally like in this. I'm going to give it a good 10 episodes to see where it goes.

    The first novel in the series was just released last September (and had a nice cover, but is now reprinted with the CW cast on it) by Kass Morgan. The second in the series is coming out this September and is titled, "Day 21"...


    I almost bought the first one to read ahead of time to see if it would be any different, but never got around to it...(I mean really Glen A Larson/Ronald Moore and Suzanne Collins might want to join in on the law suit!! -But honestly I personally don't mind retooling and meshing of old ideas. I care more about the story and the way something gets executed)


    I can appreciate the ridiculousness to a point, if it is a coming of age story and if the point is to reach out to the Millennial generation to explain an old ideas (or values) to them...Clarke seems to be the character that will push for that...


    But like you I'm going to give it a bit of a chance.

    I will probably continue to watch it. Obviously it's a stretch from actual science because there was no way the Earth could recover like that after being nuked but I thought it was interesting and I'm curious to see where it goes.

    So glad the The 100 didn't disappoint. So many interesting characters, both badddies and good guys. The pilot did a good job introducing them all to us, now we can actually feel something for their ups and downs.
    The worst part of this tv show is EVERYTHING concerning the Ark, its inhabitants. So boring and unnecessary, right now i am trying to decide which of the characters from the arc i want to die more, and i just can't.
    The storylines flow smoothly and then BAM! we are pulled out of the interesting moments to the bad acting of the older actors and actresses that are supposed to be better. I was surprised that the young actors are way more decent than the ones playing parents. It may have something to do with a lot of things happening on Earth (scenery, small details, mutated wilf life, special effects etc) that pull our attention while on the Arc, its all about people, their faces and low cost sets of space shuttle.
    I hope the guy that got hit with a spear will actually die, but i don't think he will. They will find some miraculous plant that will save his life by accident. If he died the show would have more mature dark tone, the stakes would be higher. Loled so hard at the bitchy girl getting dragged for a long time and emerging only with a small scratch.
    The chancellor's son giving a great speech about them needing the Arc people was pleasantly unexpected and serious business on a CW show.
    The show has some really great moments and some really bad ones.
    If they tone down the Arc stuff or simply kill everyone on it (it would be even better) it has all the chances of becoming a decent (for CW standards) show.

    I kind of suspect that what the criminals/kids/some of the adults think they know about the past could turn out to be lie...but like always this is science fiction, so we just have to roll with it for the bigger story.

    Interesting enough episode. I find the Ark storyline, with the adults, much more interesting. Although, since the Ark scenes are all serious, I guess having "fun" scenes with irresponsible kids is a good enough balance to the seriousness.

    I was interested in giving the show a chance, just to see Paige Turco, Henry Ian Cusack, Isaiah Washington, and Kelly Hu. And as I expected, they all did a marvelous job with their roles. Good-looking adult cast too!

    I know it's the CW, but I'm not sure the focus on the younger cast (the actual 100 on the planet) is wise, considering how vapid and ridiculous they seem to be so far. I hope they start getting smarter with their survival skills soon, or I'll be fast-forwarding all of their scenes. On another superficial note, and I'm sorry if this offends someone, but I do not find the younger, "teen" cast (the actual 100) to be good-looking, except perhaps the two girls.

    I also found it cool that I spotted at least two Continuum regulars on this show already. Wonder how many others will make an appearance?

    Was excited for this, but it was just horrid in my opinion. Silly end reveal seen coming a mile away. Faulty science (ex. nuclear war killing everyone on earth? Not likely or even remotely possible. There would be millions of people left in areas removed by geography from fallout, not to mention the radiation poisoning everyting? That's not how radiation works from nuclear detonation. Every Nuke on earth detonated tomorrow would not poison the entire planet, not even a portion of it. That calculation can be done with just basic university science.). The acting was bad, as in even bad for the CW, which I usually don't hold to a very high acting standard. Sorry to rant, just disappointing, as from early reviews from some on this site and others, I was really hoping to like it. Barely made it through the episode. Damn. Was rooting for this one.

    His name is Kane and he is played by Henry Ian Cusick (also played Desmond on LOST). He was the one that sent Abigail (Paige Turco) to execution before Chancellor Jaha (Isaiah Washington) came and saved her.

    My thoughts exactly. I know this is the CW, but still. For example, the girls are locked up on a space ship, then crashland on Earth and still wearing their perfect and fancy make-up. No scratches, not even dirt. It is all too clean.
