Once Upon A Time - Season 3 - Lana Parrilla interview

23 Mar 2014

"I thought it was wild and unbelievable and there has to be some kind of twist behind this because it doesn't quite make sense," Parrilla tells TVGuide.com of her reaction to the big reveal. "The first time I read it, I was like, 'This can't be! I'm an only child!'"

She's not alone in feeling that way. Many fans quickly jumped online after Sunday's episode to declare that it was all an elaborate ruse. The supposed evidence is Zelena enlisting one of her flying monkeys to steal Regina's blood, which could be used to trick the blood locks used in Regina's castle in the Enchanted Forest and her office in Storybrooke. She'd only have to resort to that if she weren't blood-related, right? Parrilla debunks that theory.

"As we move forward, other things are discovered, and we learn that she actually is her half-sister," she says. "It's quite jarring for Regina. She feels completely betrayed yet again by her mother. She's not too happy about it."

  1. Still think Snow's dad is also Zelena's father.

  3. That what I think but the only thing not making think this isn't true because Snow father was so devoted to her and he accept anyone in his kingdom as equal so I can't see him abandon a child even if the baby was out of wedlock and I have a theory what if Zelena started to turn green because of Cora envy of Snow mother because Snow father fell in love with her and Snow father decided to raise Zelena with Snow mother only for Cora to send her a way it will also explain the hatered she had for Snow mother because I think it's a bit stupid to killed Snow mother because she was rude and brat to her even though people killed for less also think Cora and Snow mother are sisters and that their mother took Snow mother and left Cora and their mother fell in love with a prince and they raise Snow mother as their own because prince couldn't have children the only way I can see this if Cora did something to make him forget that they had relation otherwise I think it's a bit gross to married Regina if he had relation with Cora I know Cora wouldn't care because she wanted to be royal and have power

  5. In any case Rumple must be the one that raised/teaches her (deal made with first born child in The Millers Daughter + Rumple looking for silver "Oz" slippers in The Doctor + Bae mentions slippers again beginning of this season in Rumple's castle to Robin Hood), but IMO it's a better for the story, including the first half of season three and a chunk of season two's narrative, if Rumple is her actual biological father....

Peter Pan would her grandfather and Bae and Regina would be her half siblings...and we know Peter Pan was trying to enact his own "green" curse as well...

  6. He doden't know that he have a second child? Cora could never tell him.

  7. would it be impossible is her father is Rumpel cause i have a feeling he is...

  8. Yep,agreed.
I guess Leopold could be Zelena's father as well, but I'd prefer it if it turned out to be Rumple. As you said,I think it would make for a better story. And also,IF the (main) death theory turns out to be right,Rumple having another child could make for a great storyline.

  9. For that to be true, Zelena would have had to have lied when she said Rumple was the only man both she and Regina had both crossed paths with...unless she was given away before he even saw/knew about her, in which case poor Green.

  10. The problem here is the TL. Zelena said Cora had her before royalty etc so in that case, that should eliminate both Rumple and Leo. Cora had no power back then, so how did Zelena end up in Oz and so powerful? Rumple taught her but did he know who she was?

  11. Not exactly. Leopold could have an affair, becauce kings in Europe often had an affairs with poor people: Louis XIV had many lovers.

  12. I don't think Rumple is her father especially seeing the pictures for tonight episode and everyone saying this because she green I rewatched The Miller Daughter on netflix when Rumple and Cora first met and he said her first born is very important to him Cora had this look like she was hiding something yes they made a deal that she would have his child but she choose to rip out her heart and married into royal and have power so if Rumple is Zelena father she would've had to hide the pregancy from Prince Henry and his father and the father knew about her relationship with Rumple he would knew she was pregnant with his child so in my opinion Rumple can't be her father because she couldv'e told Regina Rumple was her father instead of saying a man we both crossed path with Rumple I was also his student what would she have to gain by not telling Regina Rumple is her father when Regina know Rumple is dead at the moment

  13. Considering he went on to marry Regina, which Cora actually forced, that would be the grossest/nastiest twist on any "family" show, ever.

  14. But still, that would mean he didn't recognize her?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Who? Cora or Zelena? He didn't know about Zelena and he could met Cora one in his life.

  16. i would rather they come up with a new plot device other than this though, but I suppose that is the point of the show I guess.

  17. That's a good idea, she's wicked so maybe it's part of her plan?

  18. There's no such thing as a timeline that makes sense on this show. If you pay attention to it it actually creates even more plotholes.
