Once Upon A Time In Wonderland - Officially Cancelled

28 Mar 2014

As we tweeted earlier, ABC officially cancelled OUAT in Wonderland when they released the Promo for the Series Finale rather than the Season Finale.

  1. It was only ever slated to be a one shot to occupy fans during the Once Upon a Time winter hiatus anyway, but in reviewing this show I've really come to love it. We all knew this day was coming though. At least we got a decent, memorable story.

  2. I didn't think they would announce it via a promo but well, thanks at least because there are still shows that finished airing 2 or 3 months ago that we still don't know whether or not it will be renewed or canceled.

  3. We all knew that, but still it's sad to hear. At least we're getting a real ending and I'm glad about that. Such a shame, I enjoyed the show so much!

  4. I kinda saw this coming even though I love this show Abc should have did it the first time air it when Ouat was on hitaus or this could been a summer show so it's cancel please don't leave a cliffhanger wrap it up in a nice way

  5. They did say it could get a back order if it did well, which it obviously didn't.

  6. I just hope it'll get a proper ending and Will and Ana can live in Storybrooke and maybe guest star for an episode or two on OUAT :D

  7. I actually think it's better this way. Stick with the original story, don't cheapen it and stretch everything out. At least ABC coped to their mistake of not keeping it during the OUaT hiatus as planned. That Thursday 8/7c slot is untouchable.

  8. It's only better this way if it doesn't end with a cliffhanger.

  9. No surprise the series even with good cast doesn't has a big future, because it just not needed show.

  10. I knew it, but it still sad, i really really liked the show, i hope we can see them in OUaT soon,

  11. I guess cancelled is a relative term considering this is a spinoff of an ongoing series. Fully expecting to see the cast of Wonderland show up on Once Upon a Time proper for a wrapup.

No.They said it would have less than 22 episodes but more than 13.

  13. Considering the title of the final episode is "And They Lived...", I feel the writers would be out of their gourd in not finishing that sentence with "happily ever after" and wrap up the story.

  14. Not too terribly surprising, but despite this news, doesn't mean that some of these characters can't come to exist on the mother show or another stab at another spin off, as Paul Lee stated at the upfronts they recognize their mistake for not sticking to original off-season/hiatus arrangement could imply that the idea itself is not bad, just the way they went about is.

  15. I actually think that will be true with Alice and Cyrus (given the press release and their reaction to Storybrooke from "Heart of the Matter") and maybe Cyrus' brothers, but the fact that it isn't actually called "Happily Ever After" (and is left for us to finish the phrase) makes me think there is a catch 22 there for some of the other characters, such as Will, Anastasia (assuming she get's revived), and/or Jafar (should he not be killed)...

    Was hardly even a meal...

  17. I don't think they would buy it from Disney or that Disney would sell it to them. But seriously, nothing does well in this 8:00 PM Thursday time slot, so what would of another season really hurt?

  18. like everyone, I heard/figured that this was intended to be a one off... I gave it 5 eps but couldn't get into it as much as I did with OUaT, but bummed for the fans and hope that the finale will give them a good close

  19. LOL I wrote the exact same thing on the rating post, they should give up on that slot and let Wonderland for another season

  20. I know. A backorder can be for any number of episodes. In this case, they said that they would do 18 episodes total, if they got a backorder.

  21. I think calling it "Happily Ever After" would be trite and not in line with the sharper episode naming and writing we've seen. I have my thoughts on the matter of next week's episode and the final resolutions, but I'm saving them for my review which I'll be publishing later today.

  23. Thanks! That's been my argument the whole time! I think it's possible that we may hear of another spin off either in the summer or fall.

  24. Bye Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, you were a great show, which I always watched, please come out on DVD so I can add you too my collection

  25. It's a shame, if they had stuck to it replacing OUAT on a sunday during its hiatus I think this show would have had a chance.

  26. Ya, and I'm ok with that too. I only wanted it to be a oneshot, I don't personally like spin offs, but since I was watching OUaT and since it was possible with all the worlds in there, I gave it a chance. But now I'm happy I can go full focus on OUaT again.
