Catherine is back, this should be fun.
ReplyDeleteThat would be way too much drama.
ReplyDeleteWe should be getting the press release soon which has a little more plot detail.
ReplyDeleteThis is Grey's Anatomy. They thrive on drama.
ReplyDeleteCatherine's in town... Japril drama. Oh lawdy.
ReplyDeleteIf Callie sued Derek = good storyline!!
ReplyDeleteHow is Shane still allowed to work there? I don't get it
ReplyDeleteThe board voted and Cristina pushed the others to let him come back.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Shane. Don't do this.
ReplyDeleteI don't like it either. He should have undergone psychological evaluation. I was looking forward to see how the show will handle Shane's resurfaced guilt over Heather's death and they just swept it under the rug by fastforwarding three weeks.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Shane fan but why is everyone on his ass for coming back. Izzie cut an LVAD wire and stole a heart in the process, Alex killed a guy by giving him a hypertonic solution too fast, Meredith tampered w/ a clinical trial, Burke performed surgery with a shaky hand, Lexie and the other interns cut out Sadie's appendix, Izzie and Cristina did an unauthorized autopsy. I could go on but I think you get my point. None of them were fired and they all came back. He deserves as much of a second chance as the others did. Fair is fair.
ReplyDeleteIn most of those cases, they were perfectly aware of what they they were doing. To some extent the same applies to Shane, he was arrogant and cocky and performed a solo surgery while suffering from sleep deprivation.
ReplyDeleteBut he was also hallucinating that the patient on the table was his dead colleague. He clearly still has unresolved feelings about Heather's death and it just seems beyond ridiculous that this was diminished to Shane simply making a bad choice when it's obvious that there is something else going on with him.
I really hope the show will address this matter in the upcoming episodes, otherwise this will be the biggest head-scratcher of the season.
This is my point exactly. The others knew what they were doing and he was hallucinating and sleep deprived. He could really claim temporary insanity in this case. I'm not excusing him by any means but he does deserve a second chance. Yang was always walking around the hospital cocky. Remember when she did the thoracotomy in surgery when Owen and Callie told her to wait for cardio. No one reported her and she didn't suffer any repercussions. Is it because she's Yang or is it b/c the patient didn't die? Who knows but it's the same situation. I was really hoping they would have wrapped this storyline up already. I think the old lady coming to look for Brooks in 10x7 would have been the perfect time to finish that storyline. I don't know why the whole "I sent Heather to the basement" thing wasn't addressed in this 10x13. One of the terms of him returning should have been required therapy. It's getting just as boring a Webber laying in bed all day. At this point I could really do without Shane's storyline.
ReplyDeleteand another thing. Why the hell didn't Leah get in any trouble. She was the sane surgeon in the room and she still followed his ass down to the OR. She could have had security or some other authority figure paged. Webber was there the entire time. She could have found him way before she did. She deserved some sort of discipline too.
