  2. Yes after May sweeps, did people not know that?

    ReplyDelete
  3. yes,,,but it's to long...and who knows when the Cw will anounce if it's renewd or canceled..

  4. CancellationBear20 March 2014 at 08:15

    I can wait...

    ReplyDelete
  5. I didn't not know that it would return on June 2nd. Did you?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think it will be announced that it's cancelled long before then I'm sorry to say

    ReplyDelete
  7. Angela Paraboschi20 March 2014 at 08:18

sorry I ask why CW 21 and not CW? It's strange if CW knows

    ReplyDelete
  8. CW21 is one of the CW affiliate stations.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Omg! so long to wait! missing so much #BatB why CW21? Beasties we roar out for S3! #KeepBatBelieving

    ReplyDelete
  10. Is it renewed or cancelled? I'm hoping its not cancelled yet.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Has this been confirmed or are we getting our hopes up, the actors know nothing as yet. And if it is true then so done is in serious trouble for releasing this.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well that is why we posted a ? in the title.

But it was posted by an official CW Network station. No idea why they would lie.

    ReplyDelete
  13. No official decision has been made yet. But it's 99% certain that it will be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Not the precise date but in June yes, I think most people assumed May. The only think I was suprised by was that it would retunr on Monday, I was expecting Friday for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  15. hopes up? it will be burned off in the summer the only unknown was the exact dates. There was never any doubt that they would air the remaining episodes. CW21 released this which means these are the dates this affiliate will be airing the remaining episodes, I dont think they can get in trouble for knowing and releasing the dates when they will be airing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Maybe the CW should try to build up their summer programming like the other networks are doing.

  17. AngelaRobinson9020 March 2014 at 10:05

The season was split up because it was doing so poorly and you think your getting another season?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Cátia Barradas20 March 2014 at 10:24

    Omg! Finally a date. It´s gone a be a long to wait! #BatB i miss ypu :(
Beasties we roar for S3! #KeepBatBelieving

    ReplyDelete
  19. The upfronts are in May.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And the good part is that the fate of the show will already be known then. In either scenario, beasties can enjoy those six episodes without any baggage of worrying about the ratings releasing the next day.
Good luck on getting another season! I must compliment the passion of this fandom and their immense love for their favourite show :)

  21. Us and every other TV Ratings analysis website.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, a summer burn-off means it's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The fact that it'll probably be a summer burn-off.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, a summer burn-off? Season three's not happening.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Brad Kern questionable (and dumb) choices have caused so many damages to this show and all characters that I cannot imagine what else he will do with 22 additional episodes.I just hope they will give us a decent ending and that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was trying to follow you but couldn't, pitty, you're awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm guessing there's a reason why they say the final episodes and not the final episodes from this season, so it's pretty much finished.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The writing this season stayed true the theme "Who Am I." If Vincent and Catherine were happy and blissful all the time, people would've become bored with it. It's Beauty and the Beast, you know they will wind up together eventually. The problem was switching it from Thursdays to Mondays after Hart of Dixie which really was not the best pairing. It should have been left on Thursdays nights, but as the lead into The Vampire Diaries, BATB @8:00pm and TVD @9:00pm. They will most likely announce the cancellation between May 11th and May 15th, just before the CW UpFronts. I will not be watching anything on the CW over the hiatus of BATB nor will I be watching anything on the CW when and if they cancel Beauty and the Beast!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Pretty stupid to boycott The CW just because the cancel a low rated show.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Angela Paraboschi20 March 2014 at 14:50

    thank you

    ReplyDelete
  31. Life is about choice my friend!

    ReplyDelete
  32. All in all, I think June is not too bad a date. When I kept hearing summer, I was thinking of July or August as it is only 6 epsides. At least it does give us a date to look forward to. I sincerely hope that we will at least get a proper ending to this amazing show, if we do get cancelled. I am prepared for the worst but hoping and fighting for the best. The Beasties are pretty powerful and tencious and though the ratings are lower than any other show on CW, we have the most vocal committed fanbase and ;;we have really been promoting the advertisers. I also sincerely hope through this that for any show on the CW, you really need to listen to your fans to make things right for as many fans as you can. Whatever people want to believe the reason for where the show is at, the fans had a lot to say and no one listened. And it is not about whether Vincent and Cathereine should be together all the time-people were okay with challenging the relationship-it was way more than that-and IMO we would not be here if the fans had been listened to like they were last year. We had all the things going for us that make a sustainable multi-season show-the talent, the chemistry, the fans-but the one thing we lacked was a desire to make things right with the audience, when ratings started to go down and people started to ask questions and voice their opinions. I have always been taught to stop fighitng the things you cannot change, like scheduling, but fight the things you can and IMO the thing that could have been changed was the presentation of the vision so more people bought in. There is a lot of great talent in that writer's room and that could hve been done so that everyone got what they wanted and made a few compromises along the way.

  33. Cátia Barradas20 March 2014 at 15:20

Thank you very much for your entusiasm!
I´m still hopping, i´m a belivere you know, just like the song in OTH, another big show from CW.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, it sounds like at least that they want to end the show properly, if the summer episodes are the last.

    ReplyDelete
  35. May be we can dream of another TV station, like Show Case?????, taking over BATB, with a fresh look that does listen to the fans and supporters of this show..... I sincerely hope this would happen because the actors are fantastic, and the chemistry is so magical ... if only they stayed truthful to the allure of the classic fairytale!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cátia Barradas20 March 2014 at 15:44

I allredy think on that possibility, like hapen with Southland... It will be very, very nice. I agree with you when you talk about the chemistry. It´s really amazing, it´s been a long time since i see chemistry like that on tv.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I knew that this will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank you Neethi. It's nice to hear some positive comments for a change (instead of criticism from some people), cos all we try to do is express how much we love our show + cast. Anyway thank you.
We are strong and will continue to fight for S3.

    ReplyDelete
  39. the same people and sites that said the Carrie Diaries would be cancelled last season?....

    ReplyDelete
  40. You know what? Me too. I pay extra for the channel (so I could watch BATB) and got watching TVD, HOD, Arrow, TO, TTP along with it. But I've dropped TTP and TO now, HOD has been so stupid I am ready to quit it, and TVD and Arrow have been losing my interest lately. So, there's no point in keeping the channel I guess. I tried all their new shows but they are not for me.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well regardless what you or other TV Ratings analysis website say, fans will not be disheartened by "these predictions".

Until CW make their decision, we'll fight for S3 and we'll continue to have faith.

Thank you for lifting fans spirit .

    ReplyDelete
  42. The naive optism of some fans make Pangloss almost look like a pessimist.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I totally agree! We have so much going for us with this show! I just
Can't let go and I know that with all that talent it can be done. If only the network would see that, even though this season there were some hard lessons to learn, we are all still committed to promoting this show for network, advertisers and cast and crew and that Season 3 would only be bigger and better. If the CW doesn't see the diamond in the rough that just needs a little polishing then maybe another network would!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good to hear the return date, but seems rather strange to start in June and again on the damn Monday...Can't they help us at all? Shame we couldn't get a Thurs/Fri. And people please ignore the prat that is Cancel bear I wish someone would skin him and hang him on the wall.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm not giving up on this amazing show, and I'm sick to death of hearing fans already saying we are done....Way to be positive! And don't even tell me to be realistic I'm sick of it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. what some don't understand is this was meant to be on cbs and they decided to move it to their cw instead because it felt more cw with that said there are a ton of very successful summer shows on network tv besides abc has rookie blue and it is going into its fifth season with an episode order up to 22 from 13 so this may be a way for the cw to see if ratings improve and make it a summer show the idea has merit and bitching because you don't like the beasties is stupid ignorance can be fixed but stupid is forever just because they say summer doesn't mean burn off star crossed is barely holding in there the 100 had good premier numbers but that doesn't mean jack it could fall at any point and the cw would be really hard pressed to find a show with as rabid a fan base as batb nikita had one and even with their low ratings they got four seasons with a last run of 13 to tie up the series so we may just get that and have to be happy but quit your bitching non beasties we don't care we will roar

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pulling a show midseason and airing in summer equals to summer burnoff.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Also, Nikita got a six episode final season for syndication purposes.

    ReplyDelete
  49. No need to thank me, Sinbella. I am just amused at how you are being treated are a delusional lot. If BatB fans were delusional people, they won't have been making all these efforts to save the show. They're such an invested fandom, I give them credit for realising that the show is in grave danger. To be honest, I watch it but I don't consider myself a true beastie and I don't care much for a S3. That does not mean I'm going to discourage people from making efforts for the same. They aren't doing anything wrong to me, they aren't wasting my time, I have nothing to lose if the show's fanbase wants to save it from getting axed. It is one thing to not like a show but another altogether to make a mockery out of it's fandom's love for the same. I don't want to get on a high horse but it's a little disgusting how you guys are treated so poorly on this website simply because you love a show they don't and your feelings are taunted just because you have the shorter end of the stick when it comes to your show being safe/renewed. So yes, no need to thank me for stating the obvious. I have seen miracles happen for something far greater than the renewal of a TV show. So I will encourage you guys to not lose hope till the fat lady sings. All the best with your efforts and whatever my personal feelings might be, I do hope your hardwork pays off :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. not the same thing they had all these midseason shows to debut remember this is a small network with 11 current shows and only 10 slots on the schedule i would agree to summer burn off if they were going to put it on a friday or saturday that is their usual method look at cult all I'm saying is they have five nights a week and two hours a night the rest is filled with other shows and gameshows if it were abc cbs fox or nbc absolutely summer burn off but its not so we shall see I'm not saying we are getting a third season but until the fat lady or mark pedowitz in this case sings it ain't over till it's over

    ReplyDelete
  51. Beauty was supposed to be a CBS show?

    ReplyDelete
  52. For the sake of the beasties, I hope that is true. I really don't like this concept of shows being left on cliffhangers. Even if a show doesn't have much viewers, it is still plain rude. If these indeed prove to be the last episodes of BatB, I really hope it gives a closure to the story. No fandom, no matter how big or small, deserves to be left hanging.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm surprised it isn't on Friday but not surprised it isn't on Thursday as repeats of TVD and Reign would make more money.

    ReplyDelete
  54. People at least you are getting the final 6 episodes. Sometimes you dont even get that.

    ReplyDelete
  55. the original concept yes but cbs who owns the cw btw thought it would fit the cw better abc also had a batb pilot on order but was not picked up i follow all of this closely because each year i pick one pilot and say stick with it for one season even if its bad so i read reviews and pilot info from all sorts of sites i follow ratings news and fan reactions my hubby calls me a couch potato a bookworm and superwoman based on the fact that i read at least one book a day with no less than 300 pages watch all my shows and still maintain a clean home and my child gets good grades and is well behaved i am a stay at home wife/mom but i find the time somehow

    ReplyDelete
  56. I hear summer Mondays aren't as competitive as those of the fall run. Don't quote me on that though. But for what it's worth, the fate of the show will be decided before these 6 episodes so it doesn't really matter what numbers they'll pull :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. And where did you get from that it was originally supposed to air on CBS?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes, I know, You have made this mistake before

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh I know it will already be decided before those final eps are shown, I just wish we'd have some eps to boost ratings before they make that choice whether to give us another season. But it's out of our hands, all we can do is watch vie the CW site and keep the network informed there are thousands who love BATB.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Naive? Really! I am far from that "LittleDreamer"

    ReplyDelete
  61. Tbh I wish they would stop TVD I've spoken to countless fans of that show who have watched it since S1 and even they said it shouldn't continue on, it's the same plot line each week. Seems the CW like vampire based shows and not those with more depth....As for the Monday time slot I don't get the thinking keeping it on that day, it's well know that Mon are a killer to shows..

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sadly, many shows end rather abruptly, and don't get a proper closure. I've had shows I really enjoyed end that way. I loved "Lie to me" and I didn't feel that it got real closure. I know with "Bones" the showrunners have been talking all along about giving it proper closure when it ends. Every season for a long time, it's been up in the air till the last minute, so we Bones devotees kind of got used to the fear of an abrupt ending, but "Beasties" take hope. "Bones" has lasted for 9 seasons, and been renewed for Season 10!

I just recently started watching BaTB on Netflix, and find it a rather sweet show now, although I'm not passionate about it like I am with "Bones," so I hope it gets a nice closure too, whenever that happens to be. At least in this version (I was a big fan of the first TV version!), they have a real romantic relationship and can end it with a romantic "happy ending" if they choose.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Of course there are exceptions, no one is every 100% correct. Come on, be serious.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That's great for them. We're not trying to stop them and I applaud their efforts. I am simply reporting facts.

    ReplyDelete
  65. A mistake made is still a mistake made, And as you have been known to be mistaken before - I will always question your credibility and bias as far as BatB is concerned!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think that those people are just jealous that we are committed and hate the fact that we win almost any polls, competitions, awards, hottie of the week, best couple on tv, almost anything that indicates the love and support for this show. And we have done all of those things, with many fans not liking the directions and choices of Season 2. That is a true fan base when we can look past what we don't like and still continue to fight for a show that has the odds stacked against it. Give up! That is not in the Beastie manifesto! and you are right Neethi, it is not over till it is over! Thanks for your support and I really want to thank all the BEASTIES who comment, no matter what those comments are (other than hate to cast and crew and other fans). It is those comments that show investment, the desire to make things better, the love of the actors and crew, and the commitment to the show.

    ReplyDelete
  67. But so many of you were wrong. What did the NETWORK know then that you did not? Could the same thing happen again, could history repeat itself? It has been known to before.

    ReplyDelete
  68. What bias? Jeez, BATB is one of the most popular shows on our site and we love their fans who are passionate.

You need to learn the what BIAS actually means.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone just accepted people's comments for their personal opinions and there wasn't this constant battle for who is right or wrong. Come on people, if you don't like this show fine but don't criticize others for their passion! And if we want to believe we can get another season by all the great things we are doing, what skin is it off your ass? I think us Beasties all know where we are at, but if people gave up so easily just cause the going is getting rough, where would we be in the world! Nothing would ever get accomplished!

    ReplyDelete
  70. when the show was still just a pilot didn't even have a series order i do believe it was ausiello said that it was moving from cbs to the cw just like ringer did

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think you're getting a little confused. CBS is the Production Company of the Show as well as the distributor. It's just aired on the CW. It was never intended to air on CBS as far as I know. CBS owns CW

    ReplyDelete
  72. You are correct. The show was always intended for The CW as it was Mark Pedowitz first project he put into development when he took over as head of the CW. There is a 2011 THR article about it linked on the BatB wikipedia page.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Shame on you for your comment. A decent human being would show respect for the fans that love the show, who are fighting for it & avoid such comments. I guess it sums up your character.

Well, sit and wait' cos luckily you're NOT the decision maker.
If we get S3, we'll have the last laugh.
If we don't, we'll still be winners cos despite of all the negativity, we stood tall and never gave up. For someone like you, words like courage, determination, hard work and faith are alien concept.
    @CW_network

    ReplyDelete
  74. Exactly, wise words!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wow, way to attack me personally dude referring to my level of intelligence at my using of a word that you believe I do not understand. Nice one. We are talking about the ratings correct? We are talking about how it has been reported on this site before that the show was going to be cancelled yet wasn't correct? We are talking how you (as in the site) have made the mistake about reporting it as (as I am paraphrasing here) being 99% positive it will be cancelled correct? I am questioning the sources to which you rely and to your BIAS toward those sources and the fact that you have been wrong before - not at anytime was a I referring to you personally... Geez man, relax. and that was directed toward you. If you are unable to discuss peoples opinions as a moderator or whatever term you wish to use to describe your affiliation to this site, without being personal wow. speaks a louder volume than anything else that you may say

    ReplyDelete
  76. It doesnt matter where it airs in the summer. We are not competing against any other show in the same network and Monday-Thursday will be the same in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh go away. I don't have time for obvious trolls like you.

Try harder next time, you're too easy to spot.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ok DarkUFO and all the other pip squeaks that dislike and do not follow BATB, you horrible people with your percentages and 99% certain to be cancelled ratings and all the other negative stuff:))...please go away because we hear you and deep down we know but would like to hold on to that 1% and cuddle and nurture it. Now please go away and leave us in peace...with our 1% hope. Thank you:))

    ReplyDelete
  79. I understand where you're coming from, but brutally honest, the ratings for this show have been very stubborn in the US. Regardless of competitors or lack of, olympics, preemptions, it's pretty much maintained it's numbers which makes me doubt if they would've boosted had the show come back sooner. Also, I don't see the CW having any slots free before May 12th (TTP finale airs on May 5th) which would give BatB only one more episode before the upfronts anyway. So I do feel that if at all the show gets renewed, it won't have it's performance in the US to thank for it.
It is my personal opinion, of course, but I do feel that it's better that these episodes will air after the fans already know what's going to happen regarding the show's future. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Being a die-hard fan is admirable and entertaining but at some point we have to deal with reality : we can fight , we can hope , we can argue but at the end of the day it is all about numbers . And numbers say this will be the last season. Getting a second season was a miracle but ,to be honest , was it worth it ?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Come on people, I love BATB and would love a 3rd season. Is that going to happen? Looks very doubtful but if fans want to have some hope, why not? No need for people to be negative, nasty or unprofessional here. Say your point and move on as more important things going on in the world.
This back and fort, name calling is ridiculous and meaningless as none of you have any clue who is behind the name. As Ellen would say " be kind to each other" For goodness sake these are just fictional shows and say your say and move on.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I don't know what to attribute such sadistic behaviour to so I'm not going to comment on it but I definitely condemn it. It's nice that beasties aren't bogged down by all the negativity surrounding the show, specially since the fandom has been in a rough place this season even internally. The sites which make the renewal/cancellation predictions analyse data based on the ratings and they call it as they see it. But they aren't run by psychics who can read the networks' minds. So I do believe that even when things look grim, the only time any show has zero chance at renewal is when the network itself announces the cancellation. Hence, I appreciate beasties for being so invested in trying to get the show another season. God forbid, even if that doesn't happen, I think they can be proud of themselves for never having the regret that they could've done more to save the show.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm not interested in any of their shows.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Well actually Jarneen is making a valid comment. If you are going to state '99% certain that it will be cancelled' then you need to admit that you did make a mistake in the past.

Whatever happens, we are proud to be fans of this unique and beautiful show #BATB, and none of these negative comments will break our spirit.

    ReplyDelete
  85. getting a second season was not a miracle, it did make sense there were many more lower rated shows many of which were cancelled and two of which were renewed. (three if u also include nikita). but this year is another story of course! anyway i love the show but i am realistic. but to me season 2 was totally worth it, did u hate the season so much that u think it shld not have aired?

    ReplyDelete
  86. And yet u have blocked people for stating their opinion on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Janell, I also posted a couple of things here and was blocked and deleted. Its obvious that there are some stuff/people going on behind the site. I returned a post to someone who was more than insulting about my post on BATB. and he/she went way too personal .. that persons post was left on and the one where I challenged the guy/gal was deleted. Strange... I am a BATB lover and regardless what I, or anyone think about renewal I believe those who have hope for the show should be left hope... not right when others who dislike the show come on here and bully those who try to keep the hope going. If they have nothing better to do they should go find a show that appeals to them and move on over there. if they do not agree and dislike the show and fans so much what are they doing on here? Its a simple questions.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Barbar are you a fan of BATB?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sadly Neethi, for some reason 'some people' tend to thrive on been negative instead of been supportive of other peoples' hard work + efforts. As you correctly stated above, it's our time & energy we're we're dedicating to fight for our show so why would that bother them and generate negativity is a mystery to us. I guess, some people just prefer to critise others, cos as you know, 'those who can't do, judge'.

At least there are people like you out there, who are able to look at things constructively and be kind enough to appreciate other peoples' efforts and provide words of encouragement. Decent human beings do anyway. Thanks again. We'll definitely not give cos we're fighters just like our show #BATB :).

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'd rather be realistic than positive. I watch TTP, but realistically speaking, I don't really see it getting a second season.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I know but I hope it does for you and all the other fans:-) I am a huge fan of staying positive and having hope because I know when there is none. Sometimes all people have is these silly little shows and they become soooo important. I just want everyone to stay positive for each other and be nice...That is all:)) Good evening. I am in SFrancisco today in the sunshine.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Over-optimism just leads to disappointment. Realism leads to acceptance.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Agreed. If TTP does get another season, I'll be ecstatic, if it doesn't then at least I won't b majorly disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  94. ok:) I like acceptance too... when that 1% is gone:)

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hey, no decision has been made yet by the CW Network. Only their official announcement matters.

    ReplyDelete
  96. The network has not made a decision yet. Till then, its not over.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I agree. #BATB S2 is edgier, darker, more exciting and we really got to see the characters tested in so many ways.
Allocating Monday slot affected was not a good idea, and #BATB suffered a lot because of this. Nevertheless, the show is very popular & successful in the International market. There's still hope and we'll not give up till the end.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Totally agree with you, it ain't over till it's over, keeping the faith!

    ReplyDelete
  99. It was just a guess but it still seems like the most likely scenario, denying it doesn't change anything.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well said Maureen.
Its a mystery to me why our love for our show #BATB, our hard work to get S3 would bother them if they are not interested in the show anyway.....
I guess, some prefer to be negative instead.

    ReplyDelete

You're all slightly correct. At the time BatB was being pitched to The CW there was another BatB pitch to ABC. Both shows wanted Kristin Kreuk to play The Beauty but Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper had won her over with "cupcakes". This was a running joke during SDCC2013. So yes, BatB was originally created for The CW but there was also a version proposed to ABC as well. Hope this helps clear things up.

  102. Thanks for the info Jennie. Yep, I remember the ABC script development, thanks for the reminder.

I think as we said it was never going to be on CBS though ;)

Hope is not over-optimism. You can be both realistic and have hope at the same time. It's just like that saying, “Shoot for the moon, because even if you miss, you'll land in the stars.” ― Les Brown. If nobody ever thought to exceed what was "realistically" placed on them, some of history's greatest figures may have never been able to accomplish their dreams.

  105. Oh its not denial, but I have faith that we could still get S3. If we don't at least I know, I did all I could and that's good enough for me.

Whether or not a show is good or not is really up to the individuals perception. People may not think BATB is a good show but others do, just as vice versa. Who is anyone really to laugh at anyone else's perception and opinion? I would hope people would accept and respect each others point of views rather than ridicule it.

The original was aired on CBS but this BatB was meant for The CW. But it's an easy mistake to confuse the names of the networks up with all the acronyms they use: ABC, CW, CBS, BBC, etc. They should all just make up a silly sounding word never before used to make the name of their company's more distinguishable and hard to confuse with. <--- This is a joke LOL.

Just wanted to answer your question Angela. I've read Despoina's comment and I didn't see anywhere where she made the assumption that Beauty and the Beast was getting a third season. Are you referring to her statement, "KEEP ON WORKING FOR ANOTHER SEASON BEASTIES"? The word "working" meaning currently doing an activity or putting an effort in order to achieve a purpose/goal, which she had stated was "another season". Through that sentence it is quite clear she doesn't mean she is "getting another season" rather she is just encouraging other BatB fans to continue participating in activities or campaigns that may help the show be renewed. Some of the campaigns include the Rose campaign and the JDRF campaign, which to me is such a lovely cause as it is raising money for research and a cure to Type 1 Diabetes. They have now reached their goal for March of $10,000.00 and are now trying to surpass it. I would also like to encourage other beasties to keep working for another season if that means it'll inspire others to partake in helping such a worthy cause. But this is just my opinion.

With all due respect, Jarneen is a lady, and an awesome person, calling her a 'Troll' places a BIG question on your integrity. That was totally uncalled for, and I really feel apologies are in order... but do not at all expect that you will apologise. I agree with sinbella, we are proud fans of #BATB, and I know that there is a chance that we won't get S3, but there is also a chance that we shall. Saying 99% certain that it will be cancelled is an assumption, not a fact. Beasties love this TVshow, and it has a HUGE International fan base. This will be noticed, and Nielsen ratings do not portray this. The president of CW is well aware of it. I sincerely hope that it won't get cancelled, and along with millions of fans Internationally , we are fighting for a Season 3.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Get a grip. It's a TV show, not a protest march.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm happy. This show means so much to me and I really hope we get a S3. Why not? At least CW knows that those 0.8 viewers will always be there to watch live ! + BATB always gets the highest DVR ratings. That should count for smth ! Aaaand I hate to mention this again, but NIELSEN is not the best measuring point.
Not every view is counted ! .

    Finally an officiale date #BATB

    ReplyDelete
  121. Dvr doesn't count much at all. You can argue any neilsen being outdated but the fact remains that it is still in place.

    ReplyDelete
  122. But than again the show was been sold out in more than 100 of countries in Europe, Latina America and Asia (both seasons). Don't make me count them all here. That's why the show has such a huge fanbase and it's even more successful in some countries, than others US shows with big US ratings. So, in this case the US ratings are not the only indicator if it will be renewed or cancelled. The profit of selling a show like this in so many places around the world counts too.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That makes no sense, how can a show on tv that doesn't have live tapings be "sold out?"

    ReplyDelete
  124. Any proof that international ratings are good?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Its rude and unprofessional of you to call someone a 'name' because you do not agree with their reply, especially when they have valid point. You have chosen to delete their comments because they spoke the truth and you would rather dismiss them to avoid others reading it.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I've been looking for proof of that claim myself.

Here in Australia it did pretty poorly. It originally premiered on Wednesday at 9:30pm on TEN, (one of our bigger channels) but by episode 4 it was moved. They moved it to a a younger orientated sister channel (ELEVEN) on Tuesdays at 8:30pm, but it continued to do poorly. It's numbers continued to decline so they moved it to Monday at 10:30pm and just let it die out. They haven't made any reference to airing the 2nd season.

Every time it was moved it was replaced by repeats so it wasn't bumped to make space for new shows.
    - On Wednesdays at 9:30pm on TEN it was replaced by NCIS: LA repeats
    - On Tuesdays at 8:30pm on ELEVEN it was replaced by Glee repeats

    Sources backing that up:
    Original air date/time: http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2013/05/airdate-beauty-and-the-beast.html
    Bumped to ELEVEN: http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2013/06/bumped-beauty-and-the-beast.html

Sorry i don´t have to prove you anything :)
But how do you think they win PCA two years in a row and E! save one show with 73 ou 76% ? If people don´t see the show don´t vote one him right? Thats your proof.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I used that term, because The CW (as a crappy channel as it is) doesn't have direct representation (here in Europe for example). So, they have sold out the rights to the channels that have an interest for the show. In my country for example BATB was been owned by AXN. They've bought it last year together with Arrow and they are the only channel that can distribute them on this area. The same channel also has the rights over H50, Red Widow, Hannibal etc. etc. (you see the list is with shows from different US production companies). Some other CW shows like TVD and Supernatural are owned by different channels: TVD from BTV Media Group and Supernatural from TV7.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Somebody asked international audiences. I can only give you France and Germany. The show was/is broadcasted on small cable networks. In France(60 mio) on Sunday nights average 800.000 viewers average 4,7 % the station immediately annonced season to for this fall. In Germany(80 mio) another small cable network Kabel Eins is currently showing season 1 with an average of 1,16 mio viewers 6,2 %. The Network annonced last week that they will show season 2 immediately after season 1 on May 23rd. Both networks say the show is a success and are happy they took the risk to show it despite bad US ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Oh I see, I didn't know that's how American shows worked over there.

    ReplyDelete
  131. IMO, mostly of them don't hate the show, but they are just annoyed by BATB fans that keep saying, we will get another season or this show is successful internationally. For my first point, getting 3rd season or whatever all lies to ratings but looking at the numbers right now, it doesn't even have a chance to get that 3rd season. For my second point, there are no proof at all to make a statement BATB is successful internationally (my country doesn't even aired a single episode of BATB) so how the argumenet about that (successful int.) can be say as valid argument?

I'm not trying to become a hater or whatsoever because I do watch it (via online), but BATB fans keep bashing people who gave their bad opinion about this show or just simply stated the facts (based on ratings) about this show.

  133. Rubbish! Beauty is actually one of the lowest rated show on the network including DVR Live+7(it adds on average a 0.2/0.3 and around 400,000 viewers). It has one of the lowest viewer increases (the only shows that migh get lower are TCD and SC). What I belive you are referring to is percentage increase which isnt hard to chart top when you're the lowest arted show on network TV. 100% of a 0.3 only gives you a 0.6 rating. Which still makes it one of the lowest rated shows on network tv (TCD and SC have similar numbers I think). Where as for example TVD may only a 50% increase but 50% of a 1.0 gives it a 1.5 Live +7 rating. The percentage increse is misleading and also irrelevant.

    ReplyDelete
  134. doesnt help that this persons DVRclaims are also incorrect

    ReplyDelete
  135. TV station works differs in the EU area. In my country, if a tv station aired 1st season of any shows, they will air all season of that particular show [even that show getting low rating - this thing goes to tv station (free terrestrial tv station) that their night/primetime scedules mainly composed of US tv shows].

    ReplyDelete
  136. international numbers are irrelevant as selling a show abroad aparently doesnt generate much revenue compared to US ratings (ad revenue) and syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  137. In France and Germany not necessarily ! They showed only 1 or 2 seasons of shows cause these cable tv networks pay for each season et why paid if nobody watches ?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Actually that's not proof at all. And if you want people to take BaTB fans seriously then you guys are going to have to start backing up your claims, otherwise you will all just come across as delusional.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Why can't the BaTB fans back up their arguments with proof like you haha. Thank you. That was really interesting. It airs on Watch over here in the UK. It's a pretty small channel but at least it's airing both seasons haha.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Sounds like this is the final nail in the coffin. No way they are getting a third season with those low ratings. I personally don't even think they should've gotten a a second season with how low the ratings have been.

It´s a tv show we don´t have to prove you or anyone anything.
I like the show, i like the actors and the chemistry betwen them, i like the story and i want a season 3, i will live and find another show to follow, if that don´t hapen.
That´s life, and i assure you that are most important thigs in it. The fans don´t have to prove nothing.
I can´t understand the problem of fans try to fight for a season 3, but ok...

    ReplyDelete
  142. actually easily could have left Whose Line for the summer and aired HOD and Beauty on Friday. They wentWhose Line as it rated higher (even repeats).

    ReplyDelete
  143. After living in Germany for nearly 14 years now, I know a thing or two about TV here.

    Just
to let you know about the Kabel 1 channel in Germany, it is the channel
where the Sat1/Pro7 network puts foreign shows they had to buy in a
package deal but simply don't make it ratings wise on the prime free tv
channels of the group, Sat 1 and Pro7. Kabel 1 is also known as the
    graveyard for US shows.

Pro 7 is known for kicking shows off the
schedule after 3 or 4 episodes only to burn them off either after
midnight or let them rot in the archives for ages. Shows that don't make it on Sat1 mostly end up on Kabel 1.

    So making it
to Kabel 1 to be burned off before Pro7 or Sat 1 even tried it, is better than not being aired but if you
consider Sat 1 and Pro7 the valued, pampered racing horses of the
network, Kabel 1 is the ugly pony nobody cares about, it exists for
re-runs of ages old shows like Dallas or Quincy, M.E. and new shows that
    just fit nowhere else.

BTW new US shows being aired in summer
(May to August) also equals burn off, with the different school holidays
starting, and people either spent lots of time partying or going on
vacation, but not watching much TV, much like in the US.

Valued shows on German TV start/return from
summerbreak in September or October when everyone is back from vacation
and it is getting to cold to party much outside.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Plenty of people are clearly still watching TVD so your point is invalid (still the highest rated show on the network and still the most DVR'd shows on the network). Just because some fans are having a problem with the show doesnt mean that all fans are (again clearly indicated by the fact that the ratings are still good, more people are watching week in week out than have dropped the show).
Two show on the net are based on Vampires and they are 2 of the highest rated show on the net, SPN has vamps on occassion but not very often (maybe once or twice a season) Arrow, T100, Reign, TTP, HOD and SC have no vampires (and all rated higher than Beauty) so again your point is invalid. Beauty obviously lacked depth or so many fans ouldnt have dropped it.
As for Mondays I agree they shouldnt have kept Beauty there but its summer burn off so its ratings dont so much matter, besides its already getting 0.3 and cant reaaly do all that much worse than it already is. We shall see about Monday being a 'killer' to shows next season, my guess is that it isnt so much the day but the shows placed there that are the problem. But like I said next season we will see.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Yeah, that's how it works worldwide distribution. And yesterday i've read an interview with the business head of AXN Asia (Asia is a huge market too). It's interesting to read what he says about some of the US shows they had:

Q: How has the audience response been ever since the CBS acquisition deal?

At a macro level, the audience response has been very good. Take for instance, the two shows with which we launched the CBS catalogue i.e. Elementary and Beauty & the Beast. We have seen a fairly growing traction for Elementary while Beauty & the Beast has its own loyal audience. The first season of both the shows premiered sometime ago, with Indian audiences being exposed to Elementary for the first time. Initially, there were comparisons between BBC’s Sherlock and Elementary and people were vehemently opposed to having a female Dr Watson; something we expected.

The difference between the two is that Elementary has more investigation while Sherlock has more drama. This has led to a lot of people slowly getting accustomed to Elementary. So after the initial backlash, we have now seen tremendous growth in audiences, which has been very encouraging for us. We have season 2 airing right now and season 3 will air in September, very close to the US telecast.

The other good news is Hawaii Five-O will have a special episode featuring Mallika Sherawat, and you will soon see it in India. Blue Bloods, the fourth series that we’d taken up is also expected to do well since it is a very strong series. In the US, the show has done phenomenally well. We have also acquired Sex & the City, which we plan to air soon at 11pm. We’re giving it some rest now but once it begins, episodes will air back to back.

Q: Currently, you are airing Beauty & the Beast and Elementary five days a week. Will you be moving to airing them weekly to be closer to the US telecast?

We had two options, the first of which was to run the series close to the US telecast, but for viewers who are not familiar with the older season, that tactic wouldn’t have worked. So, we decided to go with option 2 entailing stripping the first two seasons and allowing viewers to binge-watch them one after the other. This would build enough anticipation by September when season three premieres.

Q: There has been no official statement from either CBS or The CW on subsequent seasons of Elementary and Beauty & the Beast. Can your earlier statement regarding the airing of season three of both series be considered official?

As far as we know, both Elementary and Beauty & the Beast have been renewed for sure. However, from the public’s perspective, you will have to wait and hear from CBS and The CW since I cannot speak for them.

(and take a note the interview was been taken before Elementary was been renewed yesterday; even though he said that he can't speak from the part of CBS or CW and make it as an official statement, he has some insight info about the shows that they have distribute). So, until May no one can say that BATB is a dead fish. The chances are 50/50.

Most of 'these negative comments' are been posted by people who are not even fans of the show, so they're doing it just for the sake of it. It seems we're living in a world where people prefer to critise others for no reason, but never mind, we can't control other peoples actions but we can make that we do not allow their negativity have any impact on us.

TV networks care about ratings, that's it.. Sure campaigning might work with a show like TTP which has wobbly viewers but not as bad as BATB. My comment as aimed at the (post in loud capital letters) "All we have to do is keep working for another season". It's great you guys are donating to charities etc tho. 154. I will never ever "hate" BATB (!) but I felt totally frustrated by S2 confusion , poor dialogues , plot and characters inconsistency ( memory loss , Barbie-beast , boring-
Gabe all over the place , best of the week ,psycho of the week, baddy of the week, bio-dad, Aaron, Muirfiled, emeralds, skeletons, The Talk, Dana , Sam, cheating ,
shoving , shooting, triangles, pentagons, Mr.& Mrs. Smith , and tons of dumb cops , secret agents, secret organizations , secret of the secret of the secret , and guest stars I can't even remember..... did I miss anything ? Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand Mr. Kern's big vision . I'm honest : S1 kept me hooked and I really had high expectations about the new season but S2 turned me off. If Season 1 never existed I'd have dropped this show after 6-7 episodes . I forced myself in watching most of the episodes because BATB desperately needed live-viewing and because I did believe the two leading characters had excellent on-screen chemistry and very good acting skills - more than other CW performers. Last rant about fans being negative: I've got the feeling fans were left alone fighting for this show whereas the network, producers , writers, and most of the cast already gave up on it few episodes ago. That being said , do I want a season 3 ? YES - Do I want a season 3 with B.Kern as show-runner ? : NO

  157. All of these websites analyze the adults 18-49 demographic, the network, the timeslot and the value in syndication to generate the predictions. Obviously they don't have the inner scopes of what the network is planning, but that's not what the predictions are about. The websites make predictions based on the information presented to them, and despite some of the shows going against the cancellation judgment, the majority of shows do follow the predictions that SpoilerTV and other websites have marked. The CW appears to be a difficult network, which renews shows for reasons beyond us, but that doesn't make it any less fun to try and predict the outcome. Oh, and FYI, I don't think anybody said you had to trust the predictions. I was damn sure Two and a Half Men would be cancelled this year and I didn't believe any of the websites who had it marked for renewal. But trying to discredit the entire cancellation index of the various websites that make predictions when they have a 90%+ correct prediction rate simply because they have had a few mistakes in the past despite many correct ones isn't just fandom, that's borderline ridiculousness.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Fandom is powerful stuff, especially when they refuse to admit it and target everything they can to try and build up hope.

    ReplyDelete
  159. thats not true of the UK either, shows quite often get dropped/picked up by various networks. Sometimes its ratings related, sometimes cost related and sometimes the contract between both sides ends.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Excuse me, but I never once said anything about discrediting them. I simply pointed out that they make mistakes. Jumping on me because I pointed out an error (or three) is childish. All of these cancellation predictions are just that. PREDICTIONS. Analyze all you want, nobody knows what networks will do unless you get to be a part of that decision (especially the CW). And FYI I never said I trust predictions nor did I say you shouldn’t. Everyone makes mistakes, it’s human nature, not being able to accept that you make them is arrogant. I also never said trying to predict cancellation wasn’t fun, so please stop putting words in my mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Be glad this aired on the CW. I'm sure they will give you some sort of wrap up to the storylines. They did so with The Carrie Diaries, Life Unexpected. I used to watch some of the ABC Family shows but they always ended on a cliffhanger. Hopefully Beauty goes out with a bang for the fans!

  172. I also expected more of season 2, but I loved both season 1, I endured all in the hopes of having the romance back - still fine that come back, but we could have it before from the season middle.
The BATB's fans deserve a season 3 with pure romance to VinCat - the actors are Great!

Everytime a show is about to get canceled people say "they heard" it's getting renewed and never post any source. Last week somebody said Revolution was getting a third season and as much as I want it to be true without a source it means nothing.

  176. I have to express my deepest thanks. Refreshing to have someone from the "outside" to address some of the issue that was thrown to beasties quite often actually. Yes we were often ridiculed, mocked at, making fun at and called so many names. Which i don't understand why since we don't attack other fandoms. All we want is to watch as many episodes of our show as possible, and share them with those who have similar interest. Thanks again :)

  177. That article states CBS has not given any official announcement regarding the future of Elementary, when, in fact, CBS announced its renewal with a press release on March 13, which is over a week ago. I'd normally say "just a typo", but that's actually a big deal to get wrong. If they're misinforming their viewers on that, they may also easily be misinforming their viewers regarding Beauty and the Beast.

I agree that ratings play a very huge role in whether or not a show is renewed, as for it being the "only thing" they look at I can't really say as I don't work for a TV network or have ever been apart of the process of renewal or cancellation. Thank you for the clarification for which your original comment was directed to and like I had stated in my previous comment the definition of working toward another season doesn't equate to Despoina "thinking" BatB is getting another season. Working means to do an activity or put effort into achieving a goal not yet attained, therefore if "someone" is working towards something it means "that someone" clearly understands they do not have that desirable outcome. If she meant to be loud with her post is another thing I am not quite sure of as it is difficult to assess someones level of volume through a written post. In my experience I find people online use the caps lock quite freely and for various different reasons. Some to be loud, some just like the way cap letters look better (I have to admit sometimes I'm guilty of using this one), and sometimes people don't even realize that they're using them. Thank you for your support! If it does help or doesn't help BATB get another season I don't know, but what I do know is it is helping somebody at least as it has been estimated at least 26 million Americans have T1 or T2 Diabetes and more than 371 million people worldwide (that is a lot of somebodys). If you don't think BATB will be renewed, that's absolutely okay! That is your opinion and nobody has the right to try and force you to change your mind. I respect your opinions completely as I hope you will of those who have a different one.

  180. Well, it's a fact now since the writer confirmed this news. I used "probably" because it was uncertain yesterday, but seemed legitimate.

Oh definitely I agree that the news of BATB returning on June 2nd, 2014 is a fact, 100% indisputable.

But you're comment was actually directed towards BATB being a "summer burn-off" in response to another poster's 99% "prediction" it'll be cancelled. So you're posting wasn't based on the now-confirmed information of BATB's return date and is still not considered a fact. Unless your original post was worded incorrectly and you meant something else entirely different. If that's the case if you can clear up any confusion that'd be great! Thanks!

Ouch. "No reasoning with you guys"? I really hope you are not directing that comment to an entire fandom consisting of several types of different people, because that'd be a little unfair. Yes, the ratings are low in places like Austraiia and the US. I've seen them and accepted them. But I live in Canada and BATB is aired on the ShowCase channel which doesn't publicize their ratings results just like a lot of other networks in different countries. So to say whether in fact the international fan base is large or not neither you or I can determine that without the privileged information from every/majority of all the countries that air BATB. What I think Catia is trying to say, and by all means I am not speaking on her behalf just from my own perception, is that Beauty and the Beast does have a very loyal fanbase wordwide due to their help in polls such as E!Online's Save One Show Poll and the People's Choice Awards. In India, AXN representative was published by Indian Television saying that Beauty and the Beast is doing very well since their recent premiere and has already displayed a loyal fan base there. All in all, I'd hate to think people don't like me just because I am a fan of a specific show and through that make the assumption that I cannot be reasoned with. I am, and I'm assuming majority of the BATB fans, are more than just my preference in TV programming.

The concept behind the scene where Vincent had shoved Catherine was more in-depth than just him hitting her and the next day saying sorry with a bouquet of flowers. Similar to the scene where Catherine shoots Vincent in order to prevent him from mercilessly murdering Agent Reynolds, there was an underlying message being conveyed. With any show that tackles issues such as abuse, sexuality, racism, sexism, etc. there will always be controversy around it and it doesn't necessarily mean that the show itself is promoting such behaviours as acceptable. I'm not too familiar with how Kern treats women, I've never met him in my life so I cannot draw up any conclusion on his character. I think it might be a little unfair of anyone really to shame him for something that none of us really know, truth is he can be the sweetest husband, father, and friend to women or he can be a not-so-nice sexist pig. We really don't know anything about him and his personal life to make that type of judgement. I'm not quite sure what you meant by your last sentence, if you're insinuating that women who watch BatB have no respect for themselves or something else? But I'm a woman who watches BatB and in my honest opinion find Catherine to be a very empowering woman who has had to deal with some very difficult decisions and circumstances. I love how now they've established her as not being the damsel in distress, like most shows/movies have women be, and that Catherine is just as strong without Vincent as she is with him. The actress herself also co owns a company that's goal is to help teenage girls raise their self-confidence and holds camps for these girls in the summer which she attends. This is just my perception and if yours is different from mine that's okay. If you're uncomfortable watching BATB because of how you perceived the plot then by all means I or anyone else has no right to force you to watch it. Just as neither you or I can tell anybody, women or men, what show they should or shouldn't be watching.

  186. Spoken like a true Beastie,Maureen. If one show deserves to be renewed for at least a 3rd Season, then it's BATB. It has brought a worldwide fandom together and who knows, maybe if it is granted a 3rd season, it may shoot up higher with more seasons to follow. BATB isn't any worse than some of the shows that are currently on the CW and those shows aren't any better than BATB. So all we can do is wait and see what the fate of BATB will be. No one has a crystal ball to make any solid predictions.

  187. All Beasties can do is hope for BATB renewal for a 3rd season. We'll be prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best.
