I am not sure i like how they are quickly turning Skye into badass agent. First of all there are plenty of faceless kickass chicks out there, we don't need another one, Ksye talents lie in the other areas, secondly it's happening unbelievably fast. May spent her whole life training, and if it only takes a year or more for Skye to be able to fight just as good, what message does it send?
Reading the Tvbythenumbers posts have we? The respones to the pacing of the show has been genuinely well received on here. But as we all know, Tvbythenumbers isn't exactly the friendliest 'forum'
Most likely it is going to link in with Captain America: The Winter Solider because major stuff is happening with SHIELD in that film and it has to have consequences for AOS. I can see the crew of The Bus going rogue...
Really? I'm loving MayWard. Two seemingly hardened agents acting out their physical desire, only to discover their growing emotions for each other... It's the stuff of great romance, and in this case they only bring out more in each character.
I keep saying I'm so excited, and I can't help it, I just am! I love the idea that despite coming together under SHIELD's command, the group's loyalty is shifting to each other, and they are beginning to become at odds with the organization. Cap 2 looks like it has big things planned, I'm glad they're reflecting that in AoS as well!
What great strides has this show taken to make Skye a 'badass agent?' It would seem to me that she's almost the same person she was in the first month of the show. If anything, I'd say there has been little to no progression in her evolution as an agent.
I was right bout AOS being tied-in with CAWS. They did it with Thor and that before the series even debuted it was reported that the show will follow the timelines after each Marvel Movie.
Just wait a bit, the signs are already there. She was able to throw a man over her shoulder, went into house all by herself completely unafraid and got shot, wears black and leather a lot, even knocked out the floral girl with one punch, pulled off pretending to be May - compare it to the girl who jumped into pool even though she had a gun in her hand and an advantage and you'll see the difference. I don't know why you see no progress, in my opinion she is by far the one who is changing the most. You don't see Fitz and Simmons becoming more kickass, or May and Ward warming up and having tea parties. Coulson finding out his past and changing in the process is at least explained and his development is believable. He found out he had been lied to and decided to come clean to Skye, totally understandable.
I will wait and see the episodes before getting all excited for the "seismic shift" They already underdelivered the crossover with Thor 2 movie, warning us that we absolutely had to see the movie before watching the AOS or there would be so much we wouldn't understand blah blah. CAWS may turn out ot be great movie, but AoS can still end up not being able to capitalize on that just like they dropped the ball with Thor 2 coming out.
Going into the field only to get injured, shot, or captured and having to be repeatedly bailed out by your teammates isn't badass. It's simply poor job performance. What you're describing as 'badass' behavior:
- Throwing someone over her shoulder (Just correct use of leverage. You could do it too if someone showed you the right technique) - Wears black leather a lot (???) - Punched a girl - impersonating a teammate
I don't see how any of this is badass.
Fitz has been way more successful in the field than Skye. Hell, there was an entire episode dedicated to proving how capable he was outside of a lab.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
By 'The Coming Weeks' I HOPE this means an actual Uninterrupted run!
ReplyDeleteThere will be 2/3 weeks off.

ReplyDeletePeople have been complaining about the slow pacing of the show and they are giving the viewers what they want.
ReplyDeleteDoes someone have more information? Is this gonna be a muli-episode arc like Person of Interest's Endgame trilogy?
ReplyDeleteSounds like more than a one episode story arc to me! But I doubt it'll be on the same level as POI's ''Endgame'' three prater

ReplyDeleteMay and Ward really?? It's very awful...
ReplyDeleteNo, I read the interview of Clark Gregg and the EPs where the mention that people should stick with the show and what's coming and stuff.
ReplyDeleteAgain? Ugh.
ReplyDeleteNot in a row, I think. There is a repeat scheduled for 3/25. And I guess there be at least one more if ABC wants the series finale for mid May.

ReplyDeleteCan;t wait for it to all link together with the Cap movie. trust Coulson and Co but do not trust SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteThe upcoming episodes will lead to Cap 2, coooooool, can't wait.

ReplyDeleteYour right 3/25 is the final repeat and from 4/1-5/20 is all new episodes.
