S1 as Nine is my favourite Doctor and S5 because I loved 11 with Amy for the first time.
ReplyDeleteRanking the seasons: S1, S5, S3, S4, S2, S7, S6 & Specials.
Voted for 2 (great Rose/Tennant scenes, Bad Wolf, etc) and 4 (love Donna, great episodes overall). 3 had some stand out episodes while 5 and 6 were nicely serialized and had Amy, Rory, and River. 7 is the only series I don't like.

ReplyDeleteSeries 2 and 4 are my number one choice, then come seasons 1, 3 and 5.

ReplyDeleteS4 > S6 > S1> S3 > S2 > S7 > S5, but I can't really say there's a season I didn't like at all, and I can't judge the transition year and its specials, so...
ReplyDeleteThey all have their good and bad parts, really. For me, in order from most to least favourite: S7, S5, Specials, S4, S6, S3, S2, S1. That being said, if Series 7 didn't include Day & Time of The Doctor, it probably would've lost to Series 5.

ReplyDeleteSeason 4 is my favorite because it had Tennant (my favorite Doctor) and Donna (my favorite companion). I liked the specials-year too though. (it might've been over the top for some people but I doubt that I'll ever forget those Bernard scenes). 4-Specials-5-6-1-3-2-7 would be my order probably.

ReplyDeleteWell, thay asked about "series" not "seasons"... My favorite season of classic who could well be the Key to Time... or posibbly 14, with Terror of the Zygons and (if I am not mistaken) Robots of Death...

I've seen the first 3 doctors, most of the 4th and parts of 5-8 (and of course all of New Who). I'm really enjoying the 4th doctor although the 1st still remains my favorite. He had this anti-hero type of vibe that made him fascinating yet difficult. Personally my favorite season though has to be 12, Genesis of the Daleks among the other serials absolutely blew me away.
ReplyDeleteIf season 3 is found however, then I think that could really rise to the top. The Myth Makers and The Daleks Master Plan sound amazing. While The Celestial Toymaker seems like a very visual story that loses it's impact when you can't see it.
Genesis of the Daleks is a superb story... It was one of he first DVDs I bought!!
ReplyDeleteI have wikipediaed a bit, and season 13 is the one with the Zygons, but the one I was referring to was 14 with Robots of Death, Deadly Assasin and Hand of fear. But the episode of 4th I like the most is Terror of the Zygons. Or possibly Brain of Morbius... XD
Classic Who is very complicated, because the tone of each Doctor changes continuously... the differences between 3rd and 4th are huge...
My favorites: Really, it's tied between 2 and 4 for me. They're the absolute best!
