Toy Story 3 is my favourite, it just captured what it means to grow up and become an adult so well and the emotional journey Woody and Co have to go through.
Up is my second again for the emotional stuff, sorry I am just a sucker for those kind of films but also its so much fun and so inventive as well.
Up, Monsters Inc and The Incredibles, with an honourable mention to WALL-E, as that would definitely have been included if I had been allowed one more.
Even with three choices it was tough to decide, but I finally went with WALL-E, Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. With Finding Nemo a VERY close no. 4. I decided against it in the end because it was the most 'childish' one of the bunch - for want of a better word. What I'm trying to say is that it had a slightly higher 'kid movie' vibe compared to the others. Yes, Pixar movies appeal to a young audience, but in most cases - my top 3 especially - you have to be an adult to really get the deeper layers. And I am eternally grateful for Pixar to provide the kind of movies I could take my young kids to and still enjoy them myself. I can't count the number of times I had to sit through hours of mindless drivel with my kids, so what a welcome exception these films made.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
a bugs life is criminally underrated :)
ReplyDeleteI'll agree but I'll still put Toy Story and Wall-E ahead of it. Toy Story because it was groundbreaking and Wall-E because of the Buster Keaton style.
