  1. Why are these type of posts created? Is there a need to spike fan wars? Anyways, let me sit back and watch fans tear each other apart.

  2. It's a user generated poll and it's chosen by random but then again a post like this was bound to happen anyway might as well get it over with here rather than see it every ratings thread of either reign or ttp

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think they like to see blood between the fans.

    ReplyDelete
  4. How about both? :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yes both! they are very good

    ReplyDelete
  6. This is going to start a bloody internet version of a steel cage fight.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Lets hope not, we don't want to have to start banning people :)

People are more than capable of discussing topics like this without resorting to abusing others. And if they do, they get banned.

  8. Considering that I'm not watching either show at the moment and assuming that Star-Crossed will flop and The 100 will succeed, I would pick Reign.

But of course if both Star-Crossed and The 100 really really flop, I think both Reign and TTP will be renewed.

This year is really unpredictable for the CW and that's why I haven't watched any new show yet. I don't want to get invested for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Voted for Reign, but I think think they need to pick up their game a bit. I enjoyed the last episode more, but have found it a bit weaker since it's been back off hiatus in general.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I don't watch Reign, so I want TTP to be renewed over Reign.
Ratings-wise, both shows have about the same average (TTP 0.62/Reign 0.64) but Reign is more consistent while TTP's ratings are more sporadic. I think it's too early to tell, there's TPP's move to Mondays and the two mid-season shows to consider but as of right now, I think Reign is more likely to be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  11. BatB is not in this poll, so I think we are safe :-)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't watch either regularly, but have heard better things about Reign. Are they only going to renew one?

    ReplyDelete
  13. When I read about the shows The 100 sounded better, Star Crossed just sounds like another soap.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes to The Tomorrow People. I enjoy watching it! Oh, does any Dexter fans think that Russell reminds them of Masuka??!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Are we allowed to place bets?? I got 20 on The Tomorrow People!
    Just kidding :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. i think Reign is much more likely to be renewed it was the most promoted (Clearly the network loves it) and supposedly sold very well international and there is no reason for its ratings to fall before May, TTP on the other hand could crash when it moves to Monday. I think Reign is going to be renewed for sure (unless Starcrossed and the 100 are both huge hits which i consider highly unlikely) and TTP could either be renewed or cancelled depending on its Monday performance.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I haven't watched The Tomorrow People since the pilot, if it gets renewed I will be willing to catch up before season two (though I can't imagine it getting a season 3). Reign is like nothing else on television so I will support it, though I am constantly worried about this show dropping in the numbers. The 'Neither' option shouldn't be here, that's for people that only watch NCIS and The Big Bang Theory.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Both would be great but if it comes down to it, then I really want them to renew Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  19. same here! Reign is my first choice, I'm really engaged in Reign's storyline while I really could live withouth TTP & Robbie's abs.

    ReplyDelete
  20. If it's a question of what I want - I watch TTP, which has improved a lot since the beginning of the season, and not Reign, so of course I choose TTP. (I'm not saying Reign is bad, I know jack about it, it's just not my type of show.)

If it's a question of what the network should do in terms of their own best interests, it's a tough call. Reign had the edge over TTP for a while in terms of ratings, but now they seem more or less evenly matched. Both are clearly disappointments for the network - their numbers are only slightly higher than the Monday shows and they fail to capitalize on their strong lead-ins. So if The CW renews either, it will clearly be for lack of a better option, as was the case with TCD and BatB this year. Anyway, there are still too many variables in this equation because we have to see how The 100 and Star-Crossed do. Out of TTP, Reign, T100 and S-C, two at most will be renewed, and it's entirely possible only one will be - The CW has more options now that it's got four successful shows, and promising spin-offs in the works. So if at least one of T100 and S-C does well, TTP and Reign could both get the axe. Alternately, if both new shows are ratings disasters, TTP and Reign could both be renewed - but that's a long shot, no doubt. (Finally, there's all that stuff like additional revenues, how expensive each show is to produce which translates into a higher license fee, how they do in specific demos like W34 and whatnot - we don't have that data so we can only play the guessing game.)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Completely agree :P Reign is my favourite show this season from any network, it just keeps getting better and better, I just wish the ratings would reflect that :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. I made this poll with the intention of seeing people's opinions on this topic, certainly not to see fan wars. If someone is insulting one another, Andy will take care of it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think people deserve the benefit of the doubt. Topics like this can still be discussed with civility, especially considering that as far as I can see, neither show has yet accumulated a crazy aggressive fandom.

Also, some viewers like both shows, or neither. It's not all overzealous die-hard fans, who will cry for the death of the other show if it keeps theirs alive.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's too early to tell, and depends a lot on how the two midseason shows, The 100 and Star-Crossed, fare. Of all four shows, I could see two at most making the cut, and it's even possible only one will. So for all we know, both Reign and TTP could get the boot. It's not impossible for both to be renewed, either, but that seems like the most unlikely scenario.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like both... But I'm always more excited for TTP, whereas Reign's that show I kinda watch a couple of days later when I need something to do. So TTP!

(Reign would probably rank higher if they actually had Scottish people with Scottish accents, French people with French accents, etc etc; idc about messing with mythology, but yeah...)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I thought i was the only one who thought that, true reign has been pure awesomeness before its hiatus. The three return episodes were quite meh in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's important they hold steady, I think Reign has slightly better chances to get renewed just cause the overall buzz and the fan base. TTP doesn't have really passionate fans, at least I didn't noticed them.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If The 100 and Star-Crossed flop, then it's most likely both will be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Reign was love at first sight for me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Reign it is not the girly show i thought it would be. It surprised me. Beheadings, sacrifices, pagans, rituals. Its a female skewing show that ended up being darker than the tomorrow people.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't know if you mean reign isn't your type of show because its a period or its too girly. Trust me, reign is NOT girly ;).

    ReplyDelete
  32. Then it's a minor miracle I'm still not banned.

    ReplyDelete
  33. They should renew both because they are actually good shows to watch both had good actors and actresses

    ReplyDelete
  34. True! Adelaide & Megan are killing it! The show made me renew my history knowledge and Mary's life is so interesting and it gets really interesting just as she leaves France. With this show you already know there is a lot of space to progress.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I didn't want to get into the discussion but i will for the heck of it and to make a point. I went with Reign because it surprised me. Normally, girly shows are not my thing (no offense) so i had no intention of checking out reign or thinking i would like it. But Holy Moly, this is one of the darkest shows on the CW and its supposed to be female skewing. Yes, like someone just said, it is darker than TTP(i watch both shows). Only VD, the Originals and SPN rival reign in blood and gore on the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think this poll suggests otherwise unfortunately. I mean I do really like TTP but in terms of quality, for me, Reign is hands down the more developed, well written show. I'm still hoping for both to be renewed though, so I'm just hoping Star-Crossed and The 100 flop.

    ReplyDelete
  37. When I saw Star Crossed teaser, I thought the same, because it's so teen, but not in a good way, it sounded like Twilight. The 100, I didn't like the teaser and the actors. I can be wrong and they can be a sucess, but I'm not so sure about that.

And TPP and Reign already have a fanbase and they have a good story. TPP is so much better now. What was that cliffhanger in the last episode?! And Reign surprised me. I love the strory, the characters, the clothes, the actors. I love everything in it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Don't be mad. It was just a joke. =)

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Carrie Diaries - WE WANT SEASON 3.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I want a season 3 for sure!!! Love the show!!!! CW: Keep it on Friday. The fans won't complain about.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Of course The Tomorrow People. :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. The Tomorrow People!

    ReplyDelete
  43. By far Tomorrow People! I don't think I've ever loved a show this much!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yes, it's so a great show. The CW, Keep it on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I started TTP but stopped after 3 episodes because I had no interest. I picked up Reign after that and have loved it since the Pilot - really surprised me because I didn't expect to enjoy it, it's not usually my type of show. So I'm definitely pulling for a Reign renewal, although admittedly their pre-hiatus episodes have been substantially better than the recent ones.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love both but if had had to pick one it would be Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The Tomorrow People - Love the Show

    ReplyDelete
  48. I gave TTP a chance, because I like Mark Pellegrino, but it was so bad, that I had to drop it after three episodes (first, second and forth watched for Jason Dohring). Reign started good enough to keep watching. I treated it as quilty pleasure and I still do, but last episodes showed that this series can be something more than just another CW epic love drama, so my vote goes to Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am planning on watching The 100. Just to see how good it is. But I don't think Star Crossed looks very good.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It's got a bit shippy for my tastes, I've preferred the mystery of Clarissa and the power struggle between Henry and Catherine side of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Even though I'm a bigger fan of The Tomorrow People, I just caught up with Reign and I think it's a very good show. Both shows improved considerably mid-season, so if you're one of those viewers who stopped watching either show because you didn't like the first few episodes, I'd recommend giving them both a second chance. I really think they both deserve to be renewed.

I have to admit that I tend to dislike polls that pit two struggling shows against each other, especially when they don't give us the option of selecting both shows. These kinds of polls only end up hurting both shows because they perpetuate the illusion that one show's success depends primarily on the failure of the other, which isn't true (especially if they both improve in ratings) .As a result, hardcore fans who might normally check out the other show, are less inclined to be supportive, because they perceive it as "competition". This is unfortunate; both Reign and Tomorrow people have improved substantially and could use some new supporters. The ideal situation would be for both shows to have a more synergistic effect where fans of the CW support both shows.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I caught up with watching Reign and while people do get killed and there are some pretty good suspenseful moments, overall, it still has a girly vibe, especially when compared to other period shows like Rome, The Tudors, Vikings, Spartacus, etc. I'm really enjoying the show, and I hope it gets renewed, but I wouldn't try to sell it as a serious dark show.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I just think that the option of "both" should have been included, since people do support both shows and there is a good possibility that both get renewed, especially if The Tomorrow people survives its new slots.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Renew both and get rid of Beauty and the Beast or Hart of Dixie. Both of which I like but haven't put up a great show this season.

    ReplyDelete

I voted for Reign. I watched the first 2 episodes of TTP but stopped after that... I guess it was not my cup of tea, might watch it in the future. I had very low expectations for Reign and it turned out to be amazing. I liked Reign more than TTP (not saying its bad I just didnt like it as much). Ratings wise I think Reign should be renewed cause it gets a little bit more than TTP. I think BatB will get cancelled (trust me I dont want it to) and TCD (Omg the new carrie diaries season is amazing) The 100 has a lot of potential. I dont think Star-Crossed will be renewed, It could be dont get me wrong... I thought Reign would fail but I ended up loving it. I love having to watch both Reign and TVD on the same day, it reminds me of the good old days when TSC was still on

    ReplyDelete
  56. Nawaf Karmustaji.12 February 2014 at 14:25

There is no reason to cancel Hart of Dixie as its delivering the same ratings as it always had

    ReplyDelete
  57. It just went down by a .1. But i'm guessing that's due to the olympics.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If BATB doesnt get renewed since its my favorite show, I will root for TTP since its my next favorite show in the network, used to like Reign but after the hiatus Im starting not to like it that much so I wouldnt miss it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I was kind of hoping SC would be something magical as Roswell but by the previous I dont know always 30 something cast for teenagers so wrong, and from the 100 nothing attracts me to it at all. IMO because of the late showing mainly towards springs might both be flops. Lets see will be really tough for the CW to choose this year IMO.

    The Tomorrow People!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Usually readers to this site like to bully other fandoms so this kind of posts always generates lots of traffic to sites like this, and they can either be negative or positive comments, IMO ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I see what you mean and I apologize. I should have put "both" as an option and not "neither".

    ReplyDelete
  63. I voted for Reign, I was hooked from the pilot whereas I couldn't get through the first 20 minutes of TTP despite my love for Robbie Amell and Mark P.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think CW should renew Beauty and the beast :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. gallifreyankhaleesi12 February 2014 at 15:11

I like both but I'll pick Reign. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Out of the 2 shows, Reign is my favorite. However, I do not want to TTP cancelled either. But If I had to choose, it would be to renew Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  67. "It's to be a race, is it? LETS SEE WHICH OF US WILL CRUSH THE OTHER FIRST." ---Catherine de Medici.
So, yeah. Voted for Reign. :) Got nothing against the Tomorrow People but I LOVE Reign. Reign+Renewal is my OTP. Reignewal??

    ReplyDelete
  68. sixseasonsandamovie12 February 2014 at 15:39

    Reign.

If The 100 beats both on the ratings, TTP is canceled, Reign chances drop but I think it is still on the battle.

If both The 100 and SC flop, Reign is renwed, TTP chances increase, but it has to score 0.5 or better on mondays.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Your comparing a CW show to Rome, Tudors and Vikings? Even Arrow is girly when compared to those shows. I just meant that reign is no Carrie diaries or Hart of dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The actual question is: wich show benefits theCW more ?

TTP works very procedural-esque from what I gathered, while Reign follows a always developing love story paired with intrigues and stuff. In that aspect TTP has the better shot for being easier to syndicate (procedurals or motw shows are generally easier to sell to other networks). I could see TTP do well in international syndication while Reign...not so much

Reign has a 0.7 average while TTP has a 0.6 average, so Reign it is if we got by the ratings BUT it's only a tad bit that seperates Reign from TTP making it dependant on production details to figure out what actually is more benefitial for the network

my vote goes to neither, simply because I don't care enough for either show. I care for theCW surviving and neither TTP, Reign, HoD or BatB will have ANY positive effect on the networks future. Now The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Arrow are shows this network depends on. By extention also 'The Originals' might become a solid anchor for the network (in case TVD ends due to actors jumping off TO is definitely ment to take over TVD fan favourites and to continue the franchise).

TheCW needs a new hit show to sneak itself into pop culture history, after Smallville and Supernatural only Vampire Diaries comes close to that

    ReplyDelete
  71. The CW only really need to renew one of their bubble shows if they pick up 3 new dramas for the fall and 2 new at mid season and keep ANTM/other unscripted/HOD on Friday. A show scoring a 0.5 in its first season realistically isnt going to last more than another season and even then with mid season shows waiting in the wings it may end up being replaced mid season/dumped on Friday(see HOD and Beauty and the beast).

    ReplyDelete
  72. HoD is close to syndication so it'll most Likley be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  73. the likelyhood is that unless T100 or SC are resounding hits (see The Originals or Arrow) then whichever bubble show that is renwed will simply be so as schedule spackle. It is unlikely (but not impossible) that the show(s) wont make it to syndication numbers anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Im really hope that TTP gets renewed

    ReplyDelete
  75. Defintley Reign,.Its no contest.

    ReplyDelete
  76. perhaps the question should have been Which out of the two is more likely to be renewed rather than which of the two should be renewed. Most people just pick the one they like more and just because you like a show doesnt mean it should/will be renewed as we all know already.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I want them to renew BOTH but if it comes down to one or the other, I love reign so much I feel like I NEED it in my life!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I hope it's both...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Keep HoD and get rid of Joel.

    ReplyDelete
  80. possiblly be renewed not most likely, they actually only need to renew 1 of the 4 bubble shows (T100, SC. TTP, Reign) if we assume 6 hours are already taken by SPN, TVD, Arrow, TO (well rated) HOD (syndication), ANTM/Whose Line? stays On Friday in the regular season with 3New dramas added for the Fall and 2 New at mid season.

    ReplyDelete
  81. But if you're going to compare the show to historical shows that appeal to guys, those are the shows. A lot of the harsh historical realities are instead glamorized in Reign in order to make it more palatable to their target female viewers. The opposite happens with a lot of the historical dramas on cable that actually exaggerate the violence in order to attract men. And I wouldn't be surprised if people who like shows like Carrie Diaries or Beauty and the Beast also like Reign. I don't see the big deal. Just because a show targets more guys doesn't make it a better show.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yes there are people who like reign that also like Hart of dixie or Carrie diaries, but i wouldn't be surprised if people who like the white queen or viz a viz, like it as well. And i never said the show is better than Hart of dixie or Carrie diaries type shows, i don't know where you got that from. And also, what aspects of history does reign glamorize? Last i checked, reign shows beheadings, stabbings and people getting burned. Which i didn't even expect, considering it is on the CW. Not as much as the other networks, but more than i expected from this network. In other words, it could have been worse.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yes people who like reign can also be fans of shows like Hart of dixie or the Carrie diaries. But i wouldn't be surprised if people who like white queen or viz a viz like reign too. I don't know what you mean by saying that reign glamorizes some aspects of history because stabbings, beheadings and burning people alive are all included there. Not as much as other networks but definitely more than i expected from this network. And i never said reign is better than the hart of dixie or carrie diaries shows, i don't know where you got that from. In other words, reign is darker than i thought(especially the past couple of episodes). I mean it could have been worse, it could have been very light and fluffy with no dark moments whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I went for TTP but I think Reign has the better chance.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Nawaf Karmustaji.12 February 2014 at 16:40

The tomorrow people is getting beter and beter so i would love to see more

    ReplyDelete
  87. I vote for Tomorrow people because I know how Reign ends.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I don't know why this website is under the impression that only one would be renewed. The answer is both of them will be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I hope, this way the chances for The Carrie Diaries get better.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Where does this website say that only one would be renewed?

    ReplyDelete
  91. I just think that CW thought that TPP and Reign would be great hits, because they had the preference to start earlier, in the Fall Season. For me, that shows how much the channel invested on both of them. If I had to choose between SC and The 100, I'd choose the second one. Next week, we'll see the real situation of the shows.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Isn't there a "cancel BATB and renew both" option? I'm kiddiiiiiiiimg... I watch both so I would love to say both, but if I had to choose I'd pick Reign, is different from anything else the network offers and if promoted the right way it could grow in viewers, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I guess you missed the post title and post contents

  94. This is exactly what I was thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I will vote for Reign cause is the show that i watch TTP has it`s audience too they both neck to neck ... but i think TTP might have a chance if StarCrossed or The 100 turns out to be flops...

    ReplyDelete
  96. Reign, if for no other reason but to prevent Cora from coming back on Teen Wolf.

    ReplyDelete
  97. SpoilerTV is the least bullying site I have ever been to. The conversation is generally very cordial even if people do not agree.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think they could renew it and keep it on Friday. The show is well written, the characters are great, the stories are awesome. I don't understand why people don't watch it. It's like Nikita, a great show with bad audience.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Renew Reign
    Renew Tomorrow People
    Renew Star-Crossed (friday - 13ep)
    Cancel The 100

    ReplyDelete
  100. Im with you, Gossip Girl was a hit the first three seasosn the show was everywhere and i think that is why the CW keeps on betting on girly teenage series cause they want to do that again and i like that about the network and i think that is the reason the picked Jane the Virgin as a pilot cause they want to keep with that ...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Reign doesn't even compare, Tomorrow People are leaps and bounds better than Reign

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yeah The 100 actually sounds like it could be good, so I'm envisioning that and Tomorrow People being renewed

    ReplyDelete
  103. what ? Ratings are relative if a show eats up too much money

  109. Technically TTP, Reign, Star Crossed and The 100 are all on the bubble. I wouldnt pay too much attention to what Mark Pedowitz says, its his job to say nice things about all shows when asked. Next week TTP could go up in ratings and he's be suddenly very 'bullish' about its chances too.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ratings are saying Reign has the edge, a lightly better A18-49, better viewer totals for a while now, better womens demon numbers, better 18-34 demo numbers. But anything could change between now and renewal time.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'd say kill them both but they need something to fill spaces. So...TPP.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Reign is a very consistent performer for The CW, even when TVD has fallen to 0.9 the show still performs the same and it seems like it has room for improvement. I don't mean that Tomorrow People doesn't have room for improvement too, but as it has constantly slided in the ratings whereas Reign has able to do the same on a weekly basis, I think The CW should give the upper hand to Reign

    ReplyDelete
  113. Technically, yes. Obviously.

But Reign is performing better than TTP on average (it has yet to hit a 0.5), and there is no legitimate reason to think TTP will benefit from its move to Mondays. Pedowitz knows that, which is perhaps why he singled out Reign (and The Originals, but that's been a lock for renewal since its premiere) as a freshman show he was feeling bullish about. It will continue with TVD as its lead-in, which is an advantage.

Everything suggests that Star-Crossed will not be able to compete with Reign's numbers, and so the only real question mark is The 100. TTP won't go up next week because it's not on next week, and two weeks after it returns, it will move to Mondays. The show is clearly at a disadvantage, with already hitting 0.5s and facing an imminent move to a less ideal time slot.

At this point, it seems clear that Reign has the advantage, with TTP being at a disadvantage and The 100 being a wildcard. But you are right indeed, they are all on the bubble, technically speaking.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Apparently, ratings don't agree :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. It's funny you say "they should pick up thier more adult sounding shows in delopment" & "people are loosing interest in thier soapy shows"and in the same sentence say they renew TTP, about teenagers and a love triangle.BatB is soapy but it's adult( the characters are adults with jobs)& it's as scifi /fantasy as it is soapy/about romance.Reign is soapy but has supernatrual elements and can be dark -and scary.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Eh? did we watch the same show? reign is waaaaay more adult than TTP could ever dream of being. Sacrifices, pagans, rituals, beheadings, Again, did we watch the same show? lol. Pls think before you type. TTP is a teenage x-men,

  117. Not nessicarily.HoD is almost certain to be renewed for some kind of fourth & final syndication season.ANTM will run from Aug. to mid Nov.TO,Arrow,VD,SPN are certain renewals.CW has only 10 hours a week to fill.Even with/if CD,BatB,Nikita,SC & The 100 are cancelled, they'll only have room for one of TTP /Reign and the usual five new shows.Thats also assuming both SC & The 100 flop.If one or both are hits!that decreases Reigns/TTP chances of renwal.TTP is already failing behind a good leadin and being moved cause of it.I don't know why they'd renew it.But is possible, though a very small chance ,that both could be renewed.

  118. The thing about saying its a 16th century gossip girl is that that is very misleading. Gossip girl has no blood and no dark element to it whatsoever. So saying reign is like a 16th century gossip girl to someone who hasn't watched it, they may think that it has no dark elements to it at all. And its a CW show so of course they will make the people good looking, have pretty clothes or put a love triangle(like every CW show). I don't know, maybe its because i didn't even expect reign to have dark elements at all that i am currently surprised by it. Lastly, i'm not saying its good that reign didn't stick to history but why are you so keen on it sticking to history if you already know what happened. Wouldn't that make the show predictable for you?

  119. if a show with a 0.5 rating has a budget of 1.5 mil per episode while there's a show with a 0.6 rating with a 2.5 mil budget the 0.5 show will still be kept due to the other show clearly eating up too much costs

    ReplyDelete
  120. Actually,Reign was expected to sell well internationally because of the location/setting so I wouldn't be suprised if it did get to syndication and syndication wel internationally. But it's highly unlikely Reign/TTP make it to syndication though.Second,I don't how how big of a "pop culture impact"SMV & SPN had, but Gossip Girl was a huge pop culture sensation (EOnline).

    ReplyDelete
  121. Reign quote: "So it's to be a race is it?...Which one of us will crush the other first?"- Queen Catherine.

    ReplyDelete
  122. It's highly unlikely that Reign will do well in GB if it ever will be released there. This show is sh*tting on history. Do you really think this show will fare well there ?

As I told you before, there's no definite number for syndication, 100 is just a strong leg to stand on for a show as it fills timeslots without too many repeats.

If people have to ask what kind of pop culture influence Smallville and Supernatural had they've lost me anyway.

Last remnants of UPN/WB ? Massive merchandise ? Brilliant overseas syndication ? Smallville has its own DC published comicbook series going on. Supernatural has tons of tie-in novels
Supernatural is a MASSIVE franchise for WB and Smallville for a long time was a monster as well.

Gossip Girl was a fangirl phenomenon that made it to sole five seasons due to being pushed ahead and dragged along by Dawn Ostroff for three years before its inevitable end.

Supernatural and Smallville are genre giants...their pop culture influence kept these shows alive.

  123. REIGNNNN. You could probably guess my vote from my icon. :)

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yes, but what does that have to do with my comment? Or was your response to the original poster?

    ReplyDelete
  125. nah, you said that no network would cancel shows based on these criteria (budget being one) and I wanted to prove you wrong ^^

In the end it'll be a favourites game with theCW anyways. Neither show is doing significantly better than the other at this point and feel on-par in the current fight.

Whatever show theCW considers to be more valuable will stay.

Not a Reign fan at all but I'm leaning towards Reign making the cut, simply because it fits theCWs image more.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Actually, that is not what I said. That is how you interpreted what I said. Let's leave it at that.

    ReplyDelete
  127. okay, anyway. We'll know by mid-march or early april.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Actually I don't have a problem with how they're doing the show which is why I watch it.. I'm just saying that I would never argue that it is a serious dark drama targeted mainly at a mature audience and I would probably never try to sell it to my male colleagues. SImilarly, I enjoy Gossip Girl, but would never argue that it is a realistic portrayal of teenage life. This is why I consider them both to be guilty pleasures. I enjoy them for what they are, but don't take them seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  129. This is hard. I watch both.....however, I am more into Reign for the fact that it is different than most other shows. There are so many sci-fi type shows already out right now that Reign sticks out more. Especially with two other futuristic type shows coming up on the network.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Reign just has the edge (as tvmonkey said below) but with TTP moving to Mondays from March 17th, it all depends if it can do well over there. At the moment, it's getting a lead-in from Arrow. Whether or not it can survive without that lead-in is what will be the key factor (this is providing Reign stays steady).

    ReplyDelete
  131. I'm glad to see someone else finally say they don't think The 100 looks good! I was wondering what was wrong with me lol. I know SC looks soapy but I'm lacking drama in my life; I like it on my tv! Plus the cast of SC is known and liked by me while 100 seems to be a lot of unknowns.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Since i stopped to watch Beauty and The Beast, i started to watch Reign, I'm only in the third episode but it seems a great show with a great chance to improve and get more viewers.

I'm really looking forward to Star Crossed, The 100 does not called my attention, but I'll give it a try.

Since Supernatural, The Originals, HOD(due to sindication) and Tvd are safe, i guess the new shows will determine the fate of Beauty and The Beast, TTP and Reign. The Cw is looking for a new show with consistent viewers and can do good in a long run, for what i have seen The Originals and Reign are the only ones.

Batb lost almost half of viewers from a season to another so i don't think The Cw will take the risk, Reign, i guess, is a safer bet.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I think Batb is pretty much dead, losing half of the viewers is not a good thing at all. The show is inconsistent and yeah they have a incredible passionate fanbases( i used to be one of them) but it's not enough. If Batb gets a season 3 I would say they will have just 13 or less episodes just to give a good end to the fans. And if that's the case, TTP is safe( in my opinion).

    ReplyDelete
  134. I started watching Reign up to episode 7 or 8 was fine, after the hiatus I just fast forward to watch the end.....TTP I started watching it again maybe with Astrid/John dynamic the show improves I cant stand Cara, and Stephen is alright....action is good! I still dont lose my hope for BATB as much as I didnt like the first 8 episodes

    ReplyDelete
  135. Renew both. TTP is finally improving, especially if they permanently ditch the love triangle. Reign is alot of fun too.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hi, no, that's where you're wrong love. You don't see us, because we work on Twitter and Tumblr to try and sell our show instead of doing these polls (which honestly don't really matter.) We've started asking CW for TTP's renewal about a month ago and have received some praise for jumping before we had to. We're around. Trust us.

    ReplyDelete
  137. CW needs to cancel all the flops on its schedule (meaning all their shows) and start with a clean slate.

What's the point of endlessly renewing those ridiculously low-rated shows?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Why renew either? They're huge flops!!

    ReplyDelete
  139. It's a risk for CW to renew any of their shows. They're all ridiculously low-rated. They have lowered the bar so much, Supernatural (a show that would be canceled after the first commercial break on CBS) has been on for countless viewerless years...

    ReplyDelete
  140. There should be a "both" option, since there is a "neither" option.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I think that my main problem with Star Crossed is that the aliens look too human. This could be a good show a la Alien Nation if they focused on word building and human-alien interactions. But from the looks of it, it's just going to be about a human/alien love story, the likes of which have been done before and better.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I will watch it because I'm curious and I'm part of a blog about tv shows. So, I have to see what Star-Crossed will offer and make sure that this show will not cause any impact at the audience so The CW can renew TTP and Reign =)

    ReplyDelete
  143. I've tried to watch Defiance too, but I just don't have enough time. I watch so many shows that I'm afraid to get addicted. Thank you for giving me that hint about this show, I'll consider if I will watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Two extremely flawed and cliché ridden shows that neither deserve to be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Have you watched either? and don't tell me you just watched the first three episodes, because the show may not have been fully explicated at that point.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Of course I do. It's generally known (and widely accepted) among critics that these shows are "flawed". The only reason they're around is because they've built up an immense fanbase that obviously exists of hormonal teenagers who shriek at the slightest hint of some hot dramatic love triangle action. Don't get me wrong though, that's not necessarily a bad thing -- but then again, I'm only pointing out.

It would do The CW much good to invest in shows like 'Arrow' that's proved to keep up a solid pace in delivering much more original twists to long-running and well-elaborated plot elements (unlike TTP and Reign).

    ReplyDelete
  147. Good news - Reign is officialy picked up for a second season ))) lol i will click anyway xD

    ReplyDelete
  148. Where did you hear that? :)

  150. Critics? Okay, since you want to go there, Reign and TTP have 50 something percentages on rotten tomatoes which is an average score, not a negative review. Like pretty much all CW shows except Arrow which has a 75. And Reign and TTP are dark action shows. What you seem to be describing are the Carrie diaries type shows. Please watch them and do better research before making such ignorant comments.

    ReplyDelete
  151. No need to discuss anymore, Reign has officially been renewed, alongside Arrow, Supernatural, TVD, and The Originals

    ReplyDelete
  152. then watch arrow) its renewed by cw, people have different tastes, you dont have to like ttp or reign, watch what u like. i watch arrow but feel more emotions for reign..yeah coz i'm a girl and girls like "eating sniffles watching soapy dramas" ^^' xDD
unfortunately for u the amount of such girls who support reign is very big and cw renews whats popular) believe in evolution of ppl's minds) someday we will understand what is really a good tv product xDDD.. someday))

    ReplyDelete
  153. Sorry Reign sucked, I didn't watch it after Episode 2 (ridicules script writing!). Tomorrow ppl just keeps getting better and better every week!

    ReplyDelete
  154. got Defiance...Star Crossed based on the trailer alone doesn't look like it's really worth viewing. Don't have have enough Teenage Angst movies, and shows?

    ReplyDelete
  155. I do watch Arrow (and TTP and Reign). And you're absolutely right that people have different tastes and I respect those choices. But my point was something entirely different.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Nikita was horrible, I couldn't stand it after 1 episode, it was like a poorly written rewrite of the Original. Sorry but I'd rather watch Peta Wilson reruns of Nikita, then that reboot. I grew ip watcing Pita, she was awesome, the cast and the show trend setted. new nikita bad, original good, Alias good!!

    ReplyDelete
  157. pffff watch after 2nd ep) interesting judging~~

    ReplyDelete
  158. ok , if you r not against to waste some of your time on explaining tell me your point?) i'm interested)
(i feel its about fanbase to be more mentally grown up , smart, etc.. u want smth strong with good pace, good plot and twists) i find reign interesting as for twists , yeah its for teenagers, there's no history accuracy there, only decorations and main idea, but i dont feel sorry for that, on the contrary ))

    ReplyDelete
  159. You judge reign after 2 episodes? nice try.

    ReplyDelete
  160. The Tomorrow People is 100% better than Reign and should definitely have another season.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I just voted for regin it is my favorit show to watch on the cw on Thursday nights.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Good. Let the butt hurt flow through you.

    ReplyDelete
  163. You'll allow me to defend TTP - I think it has a cool mythology with potential, some likable and interesting characters, and good action, stunts and effects. The love triangle sucks to high heaven, true, but I don't think the entire show should be discounted because of it, especially since there hasn't been much of it outside of two particularly weak episodes (6 and 7). It's definitely not as good as Arrow, or the now finished Nikita, but it's a decent show and doesn't deserve to be thrown in with teen shows of the type The CW used to be associated with (and to a certain degree still is). The teen drama is not a central element of it - in fact, only two characters besides the lead are teens (and one of them, his little brother, isn't in the main cast), and there haven't been any high school scenes in recent episodes.

When it comes to ratings - Reign has been renewed, but TTP is very unlikely to. Its ratings aren't high as you suggested. It premiered to high numbers but declined significantly, and it's now going to move to a tougher timeslot on Monday (where it won't air after Arrow which was supposed to help it succeed). Personally, I enjoy the show and would like it to see a second season, but smart money is definitely not on that possibility right now.

    ReplyDelete
  164. The love triangle needs to die. Not a slow and painful death, but a FAST one so it stops marring the show. Until recently, I really wanted John and Cara to just be together permanently because they have great chemistry, but the show is really making Cara unlikable for some reason. She needs to soften and stop acting all "tough girl" which ultimately just comes off as abrasive and annoying. It's gotten worse since she became leader.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I don't know about "girly", but Reign is primarily a drama and a romance, even if it's not done in an annoying teenage way. I'm much more for action, adventure, thriller and such shows. I'm also not very drawn to period pieces. I'm happy for the fans that it got renewed, though, it was definitely an underdog in the beginning but it pulled through.

    ReplyDelete
  166. The love triangle is only a minor part of TTP and thankfully, it hasn't been addressed in a very long time, which is partially why the TTP is now a much better show. Unfortunately, the CW is a double edged sword, If you underplay the romance aspect and don't give the viewers a couple to root for, the show will lose its supporters, because the romantic shipping is the main focus of their target audience. TTP didn't lose viewers because of a bad plot. They lost viewers because there was no chemistry between the characters involved in the original love triangle and so their target viewers lost interest. It doesn't matter that the show has now improved substantially. Supernatural is probably the only show that's done well on the CW without a major romantic subplot and I think it's partially because the format parallels that of many "procedural dramas" where there's usually a different mystery case that gets solved at the end of each episode. BTW, even though the protagonist is supposedly in high school, he looks way too old to be in high school and the actual focus on high school life is minimal. The show definitely has its plot flaws, but I don't see it as a teenage drama.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I dunno, the Supernatural pages can get pretty crazy lol

    ReplyDelete
  168. Why? Because I dared say out loud what the numbers have been screaming for a long time? All shows on CW are flops.

The fact that this upsets you really doesn't change the reality of it.

The fact that you attack me instead of having any argument sadly says a lot about you.

    ReplyDelete
  169. You make a great point. In the era we live in, where TV has become a network executive's medium, most pilots are just awful. Creators usually can fix them, at least a little, with time, but most people don't have the patience to sit through five awful episodes before it gets better.

I have very little patience left as I can't stand (and really don't have time for) bad films and TV and sometimes it takes a friend to convince me to take another look at a show.

A good example for me is Big Bang Theory whose single unfunny episode IMO was the pilot which was dreadful. By the same token, I suffered through seven increasingly worse episodes of Mom, hoping Chuck would work his usual magic. He didn't. Sean Saves the World on the other hand did get better, but it's on NBC, a network people have learned to avoid and by the time it got better it had next to no viewers left.

Sometimes (often?) you can tell with the ratings when a show is getting better (see Big Bang Theory).

As for CW, until they can put together a show that doesn't sound to me like it was designed for brain dead girls/women/fanboys ages 14-23 1/2 they'll have trouble to get people to even sample their shows any longer.

CW has managed to establish the all-important branding. Too bad their brand is "the network you don't need to notice".

    ReplyDelete
  170. The Tomorrow People is good, but Reign is a better - both should be renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I can agree and say that's pretty ridiculous that someone would judge a show based on two episode because quite frankly that means they really know nothing about the story enough to critique it and they really don't because it doesn't follow the real story enough to be judged right out.So yeah it doesn't sound right in my opinion and Reign is a great show and it doesn't take a genius to understand that and it yeah it does keep getting better and better, but from the beginning it was always very good. And true Reign fans of course are going to be severely pissed when someone who has no idea what the heck there talking about judges it based on two episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  172. watch the first episode then judge

    ReplyDelete
  173. the teaser/trailer were awful after watching first episode

  174. watch the SC it surprised alot xd , all SC needs to do is do better then beauty and the best , and hart of dixie to be renewed

  176. all SC needs to do is do better then beauty and the best , and hart of dixie to be renewed!!!

    ReplyDelete
  177. Oh I'm definitely planning to give it a chance, quite interested actually. I just hope it'll end up being more like Alien Nation than Roswell.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Did you watch it? What did you think?

    ReplyDelete
  179. reviewers are saying wait for episode 4 and are saying its really good xd , i expect it to have some influence of V if you ever watched that , give me some love , some action , some good plots and im happy , people are saying it needs to beat TTP or reign but it needs to beat beauty and the beast, or hart of dixie it has a chance xd

    ReplyDelete
  180. Classic V? Or the reboot? (I had some issues with the anti-science attitudes of the reboot)

    ReplyDelete
  181. i liked it , has everything i like from a show , i hope it picks up after episode 3 like reviewers are saying so im excited to see where it goes

    ReplyDelete
  182. lets be real who ever prefers the reboot , pretty much no1 , i didnt mind v cause i never watched the original but by having some V i mean like humans vs aliens like war but these aliens arnt as strong as the V aliens or as clever xd

    ReplyDelete
  183. I saw that everybody is saying that, that we should wait until episode 4 to judge the show. I'll do that. And I see that many people liked it too, saying they are surprised with that.

    ReplyDelete
  184. i hate getting into shows i adore and then they get canceled without a finish like V , Heroes i hope this aint another case and gets a ending xd

    ReplyDelete
  185. We all do I think. I watched V too and got really mad with that finale. Later we'll see the ratings os Star-Crossed. I'm not concerned about last night, I'm concerned about next week when all the shows come back including The Voice.

    ReplyDelete
  186. i want it to do better then hart of dixie? why does 2 of the shows havt to be canceled? people are saying its either , tomorrow people, the 100 , or star crossed 1 of these shows will make it , why cant all of them make it with hart of dixie, beauty and the best , carrie diaries all have a chance to be canceled ? im new to ratings etc..

    ReplyDelete
  187. another lost series xd

    ReplyDelete
  188. the 100 is lost

    ReplyDelete
  189. They say this because Hart Of Dixie has the help of the syndication, so it's sure the channel will renew the show even to give it a short season. BATB has terrible ratings, airs on Monday, so I don't think that CW will renew it, it has no logical. So, we have left: TTP, SC and The 100. In my opinion, it won't cancel more than 2 dramas. So these 3 shows are on the bubble. And I don't know what to say about TCD. For me, the show works well on Fridays, it's not that expensive, comparing to the rest.

    ReplyDelete
  190. for me hart of dixie,TCD , BATB dont fit CW , i was hoping cw would pick up v so bad qq
