  1. 40+ seems excessive. I'd say during a typical week I watch about 10-15 hours (with Dramas counting 40 min. & Comedies counting 20 min.)

  2. Assuming all my shows are airing in a week, 9 hours, though I watch stuff online so their would be some trimming due to lack of ads, so around 7 hours.

  3. Most comedies are 22 mins and dramas are 44 mins.

  4. I know, but I just rounded down to make the calculation easier.

  5. Based on next week when the majority of the shows I watch are back or starting then around 10-15 hours.

Add in how many shows I am rewatching on DVD and the figure is more like 30-35 hours if not more.

    ReplyDelete
  6. If all my shows are airing I watch seventeen hours a week. Although with how much catch up and binging I do my total TV viewing is much higher then that

    ReplyDelete
  7. I am retired and record a lot on my Hopper, the beauty being I don't have to watch commercials, so would say around 5 hours on a weekday, less on weekends. Maybe 30 total.

  8. 0-10 hours of NEW shows. Considering that I'm trying to catch up on two different shows, and that Friends is on all the time (here in the UK), it's probably about 20-25 hours.

  9. I'm not sure this is a question I should answer ... so shameful

    ReplyDelete
  10. So you must fall into the 40+ hours! :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. :-) Actually i just added it up - it's not so bad. 15 hours max ... i think

    ReplyDelete
  12. Up till now roughly 10 hrs, but by April with the spring batch of shows it will probably be 20 to 25 hrs..

    ReplyDelete
  13. LOL, this question. I don't know, but it's a lot. Watch a ton of shows.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am ashamed to answer

    ReplyDelete
  15. Considering I watch over twenty shows, it's bad. I'll give you that at least. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Currently only five of my shows are airing so around 4 hours. next week and through march/ april when everything comes back on probably around 10-13 hrs.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't watch shows live and as a result I can easily watch over 40 hours if I have a quiet weekend and get to catch up (probably much higher than 40 eek). Excluding my additional weekend watching/catching up, I would say its between 20-25 hours. Thankfully because I don't watch live, I can fit more shows in my hours by skipping the ad breaks.

  18. yeah i watch a ton of shows too. and i think i can name all of them (in a given week)-

monday: SAB, the fosters, almost human, sleepy hollow, hart of dixie, BATB (though i'm behind a bit), the blacklist, castle, defiance, the following
tuesday: person of interest, twisted, rizzoli and isles, perception, agents of shield, trophy wife
wednesday: revolution (still need to catch up on a few episodes), psych, suburgatory, back in the game, arrow, the tomorrow people, chicago pd, maybe the 100
thursday- parenthood, white collar, elementary, the crazy ones, mjf show, suits, maybe sirens
    friday- catch up day
saturday- catch up day, atlantis (bbc)
sunday- continuum, the newsroom, the mentalist, OUAT, longmire

this would be how it is if everything (summer and fall shows) were all on at once...

I know, i watch a lot of TV :( but overall, i think I have around 50 fav tv shows (including shows that have stopped airing like chuck, one tree hill, monk etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  19. forgot about orphan black as well. how could i forget that great show?

    ReplyDelete
  20. 27 shows round the year will be 28 when 24 starts in May. Half of em summer shows so 10-15 hours...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd say 10-15, at the most, these days. I do tend to have the news, politics or sports on for an hour or two a day too thou in the background, prob a bit more atm with the Scottish Independence row and Olympics going on at present.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Assuming all my shows are on in one week and I would watch them live in the US, it's about 6 hours. But with two new shows coming up, it will probably be more.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Damn, you beat me to it! I was about to post the EXACT same thing! Aww, I'm just sad now :(

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's one hell of a schedule you have there :P

    ReplyDelete
  25. We demand the exact hours, minutes and seconds you watch TV. Now get your calculator and start countin'!
    Hahahaha, just joking!

  26. 40+ (don't judge me!)
In my defense (I have to defend myself a little :P) it's really relaxing for me to have VLC media player with the setting "Always on Top" running a playlist of episodes of the shows I watch while I do other stuff on my laptop. Besides my favorite shows, where I only have one new episode per week, I also tend to search for older shows to binge-watch. That way, I can multitask by always being able to see the episodes and do other stuff as well! But yeah, still 40+ though XD

I probably spend way too much time watching TV, but meh, worth it! :P

  36. I use trakt.tv - you can see your month or week laid out in calendar or list format. It also keeps track of new shows vs repeats, if you collect shows (buy shows), how much your watching, your progress in a series, and it has many other features. It also connects to an app on your phone if you want.

    ReplyDelete
  37. If we are talking the inital viewing about 16 hours. If we are counting rewatches to write reviews, do polls, and podcast, way too freaking many.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the majority of us can agree with that answer.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yikes. 15-20 hours.

Plus I have shows I watch online because some of my shows air at the same time. So more closer to 25 in the heat of the fall-spring season (when it's busiest). Summer I have a lot less but still have at least 10 shows (not all are on main channels).

    ReplyDelete
  40. I watch so much I have a schedule so I don't forget to watch and which ones I should watch over another if they're airing at the same time (since I don't have a DVR it depends on how accessible the show's episodes are online).

    ReplyDelete
  41. I signed up but can't figure out how to select episodes I've seen, and there appears to be no help section.

  43. I make up for ad breaks by being on my computer while watching some of my shows (so long as I'm doing something worthwhile).

  44. www.slicktasks.com

But it's not really meant for watchlists/tv schedules, it's more of a task manager/to-do list. I'm sure there are better ways to keep track of your TV shows, but I prefer to have all my different stuff at one place.

  45. Have you added your shows? If you need help you can email me at freda(dot)ander(at)gmail(dot)com.

But it will be 20-25 hours when a lot of my March/April shows start.
