The Originals - Young Elijah being Cast

You’ve already met Aiden Flowers, the adorable child actor who will be portraying little Klaus Mikaelson in The Originals Season 1 Episode 16. Now prepare to meet the equally precious kid who has been cast as young Elijah: Perry Cox! This talented thespian is also set to make his official debut in the sixteenth episode of the Vampire Diaries spin-off, which is titled “Farewell to Storyville.”

Some of Perry’s television and film credits include Drop Dead Diva, Revolution (as young Miles), and The Odd Life of Timothy Green. That said, we have a feeling he’s going to make waves as Klaus and Rebekah’s big brother. Welcome to the OG family, Perry!

We don’t know about you but this kid is a pretty much a dead ringer for lil’ Elijah. Those warm, brown eyes that put you at ease, that dark hair that settles perfectly just over his forehead, and his wise-beyond-his-years demeanor? Throw in some tiny, fancy suits and quotes about family and honor and we’re taking business!

According to recent spoilers, this installment will feature several flashbacks. Moreover, in an attempt to end the nonstop bickering between Klaus and Rebekah, Elijah, the Mikaelson’s go-to mediator, reveals a long-held secret from the family’s past. We can’t wait to find out what it is and to see the Originals as children!

  1. So Elijah's secret does go back to when the Originals were children. I can't wait to find out what exactly happened. We've never seen flashbacks of this nature before. I have a feeling that whatever is about to be revealed will be highly unexpected. I wonder if Elijah committed an act of betrayal when he was a child. That would explain his obsession with saving his family, and Klaus in particular. Maybe the three of them being locked in a cemetery together will turn out to be a good thing. The more the air is cleared, the quicker they can work out what to do with themselves and each other. Obviously it isn't healthy for them to be together as a family while there are serious unresolved issues. My worry is that the secret will turn out to be something involving child abuse. People did say that the show will be going to a dark place.

  2. We also already knew that Mikael abused Klaus though. It was sort of mentioned in passing on TVD and Rebekah flat out told Sophie back in episode 2 that he was and that's why he connected with Marcel when he saw Marcel (at the age of 10) being beaten.

  3. Maybe it went beyond beatings and Rebekah didn't know about it. Elijah could have been victimized too. This is all assumption, though, of course.

  4. I tend to think it may be guilt. Maybe he was witness to the abuse and did not try to stop Mikael or was even prodded into joining in. I am interested in the flashbacks!

  5. Yeah I think so too.

  6. Okay, that kid looks very much like he could be a young version of Daniel Gillies. I approve of the visual resemblance... Here's hoping he's got the acting chops!
