The e-tailer's U.K. online video service will get the third season of the crime drama, which the BBC had previously cancelled, before it airs on the public broadcaster.
The e-tailer acquired U.K subscription streaming rights to the show, which stars Matthew Macfadyen and is set in the age of Jack the Ripper. The BBC had previously canceled Ripper Street amid weak ratings.
Amazon will show the third season on Amazon Prime Instant Video for members, before its airing on BBC One, the pubcaster’s flagship channel, a few months later.

Good news!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite rare for a BBC show, interesting that Amazon are now getting in on the saving cancelled show thing.

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy. The show deserves to keep airing, it's just amazing, the writting, the acting, the dark scenery. I just hope it lives enough to have a propper conclussion.
ReplyDeleteI keep watching. But I often have to rewind because I fell asleep or got lost on the net and missed the last ten minutes. Just not holding my attention this year for some reason
