Well, I guess Nadia will be killed off since there are no planned cross-overs with The Originals unless the suddenly discover that something other than Klaus' blood can cure a werewolf bite.
Katherine has been annoying me with her obsession with Stefan so I'm glad that they figured it out finally, I think Matt & Nadia's talk was pretty spot-on - neither one of them have mothers who actually care about them.
Tyler blood was enough to make a hybrid and completing the process with Hayley's blood already bypassed the fact that they told as Klaus and Elena's(doppelganger) blood is required to make hybrids so i guess Tyler could heal her if he wants
Leave it to Stefan and Caroline to figure it out. I love those two. I may ship them hardcore but I also like their moments together where they just click. Those moments are happening a lot more these days. If the writers aren't building up to something then it's going to feel like such a waste.
I wonder where that traveler Sloan was. You'd think she'd want a front row seat to Damon's torment considering that she was the one who went to Wes. Maybe the actress wasn't available. Damon's reaction in the promo to the news about Elena being Katherine is hilarious. Her plan was so evil that he had to give her respect.
I am so pleased that they went the route of Tyler biting Nadia. Now the question is, will someone take pity and call Klaus? Will Katherine, impersonating Elena, ask him to just send some blood? I don't think she'd risk being around him, not even for her daughter. That being said, we already know that Tyler can pee because he's a hybrid, so maybe we'll find out if his blood can cure werewolf venom. If doppelganger blood was used to create Tyler, then he's probably more powerful than he realizes. He might be able to have children, too. He's only been with Caroline, a vampire, since he became a hybrid.
He didn't use his blood. He injected Dwayne with the blood of Klaus' child (he jammed a needle into Hayley's stomach to get it) and then killed him and then Dwayne wound up sired to the baby - so Dwayne was protective of Hayley (as an extension of the sire-bond to the baby) and Tyler killed him by ripping out his heart because he wanted to kill Hayley.
Its all becoming far too complicated. They have created rules and counter rules to get around established fact so its getting increasingly difficult to coherently follow the storyline.
Boring. I'm sorry, just... boring. This used to be a show that blasted through storylines at surprising speed (in a good way), twisting and turning along the way and genuinely being surprising at every turn.
Now it's just... meh. I don't particularly care about... any of the characters except maybe Stefan and Caroline, in those moments when one of them isn't being written to be completely idiotic. The rest... okay I do care about Matt, but... eh? Nothing that happens matters. It's just more triangle, more triangle, more triangle. Blah blah, unlikeable characters and a plot that really, really doesn't matter. Like, at all. It's like Buffy with mediocre at best writing and no saving the world, or even a neighborhood.
At this point, I'd accept risking themselves to save a single child in a house fire.
Scratch that, saving a friggin dog in a housefire. Give me some reason to like these characters besides who they're sleeping with!
Was it me, or did Stefan appear protective of Caroline on the subject of Tyler? When Tyler called, Stefan appeared upset and he said that Tyler tried to kill Caroline. I don't think Tyler was that angry. He was just unusually aggressive because he was drunk. Maybe Stefan knows something about what Tyler did in New Orleans. I wonder if someone was contacted before Tyler was let go, or maybe Rebekah told Matt, and people just aren't discussing it on-screen because it would mingle the two shows too much.
It's been a while since Matt's character has been used for anything but filler. I knew that Matt wouldn't get killed in this episode, but I still got nervous when Katherine said that if Nadia didn't kill him, she would.
I'm getting tired of the show's current love triangle while it revolves around Elena, but if only the writers didn't screw with Katherine's character, she could have been placed in the center of the triangle instead and new things could have happened. When Katherine kissed Stefan, I thought I saw it occur to him that she wasn't Elena. That's usually when he figures it out, but he kept kissing her and then showed signs of disbelief when Damon brought to his attention that "Elena" wanted Stefan to kill him. It's official: Stefan has been in denial because he subconsciously still has feelings for Katherine. I know that an interview talked about open wounds involving Elena, but I think it'll turn out to be about more than that. Too bad Katherine might end up dead. This plot is a mess. I really hope they do more with it than just put Elena back in her body. A body-switching arc is a lot of trouble to do through and have nothing change at all.
I think that Celeste committed suicide while possessing the witch in order to get a new body. Maybe she had to die in order to jump into a new body? Or maybe she just didn't want to leave behind someone who would figure it out because they'd have a huge gap in their memory for the entire time Celeste was in possession of their body?
If anything it feels like Katherine & Celeste are a lot a like and that Elijah has a type - very manipulative women who have no problem doing that kind of thing (and Hayley also falls into that category for me as well).
OK good review but I just want to say.....Damon didn't know THAT was not Elena. He just was sure ELENA had given up on him. After Stefan said he wasn't giving up on his brother, Damon said "she has" then went on how she would have saved Jesse if she had a choice but knew the urge was too strong, yet she pushed and even went as far as to shove a stake towards Stefan with her foot. He didn't know it was Katherine, he thought Elena wanted him dead. He doesn't know Elena if he believes that of her.
This was "Very Good" for a support/set -up episode, which by definition is the best we could hope for! The bromance looks official..........DamZo anyone! For better or worst Damon and Enzo are friends, which was made pretty clear in this episode. Nadia's confession to Matt about her mother/Katherine issues was a great scene, even though Damon (Ian) owned this episode (especially the scenes with Enzo) Nadia was right there with here Matt/Katherine scenes. The Stefan/Caroline reveal scene could have been executed much better (no spoilers), but so goes the story. Matt's timing couldn't have been worse on his attempt at heroism, but points for trying. Could there be a road trip in Nadia and Katherine's future..........to say the........"Big Easy"? Oh yeah................where was Bonnie this episode and has the "Traveler" that got her heart ripped out by Katherine/Elena crossed over to the other side yet? Glad "Diaries" is back on and based on the preview I'm looking forward to next week..........see ya then! BECAUSE DIARIES ARE 4 READING, I remain Nobody!!!
He knew it was ODD which is why he brought it up. Everything you're saying IS true. But I JUST re-watched that scene. It was the WAY that he said it. His tone was suspicious. Which of course made Stefan think. When Damon was telling him about Jesse he said "yeah so." Then Damon questions that. His tone is what gave it away that Elena was off. Then he went back into his hazy state. After that, Stefan and Caroline, along with Matt's text, figured it out. So yeah he does know her.
Woh told your horses, I didn't mean it in an offending way. I just thought you may have missed that part. I haven't watch all the episode. I gave up on the show after the 100th episode. But a friend told me they was a Defan scene I shouldn't miss, so I only watched mostly scene with Damon and Stefan. I don't ship anyone on the show......my ship Bomanic sank hitting the Iceberg called Julie Plec in Season 2.
i was thinking the saame thing, too many rules and the loopholes around it is creating a real problem.i cannot fathom the fact that bonnie couldn't figure out katherine's body switch since she is the anchor!!
I agree.I actually think that the person who most noticed the strange behavior was Caroline. Damon noticed that Elena had given up on him, but I don't think he assumed that she wasn't being herself. My guess is that he assumed he had finally crossed the line by trying to kill Jeremy and that Elena would never be able to forgive him. I think Stefan also noticed the strange behaviour when she came on to him in the hotel. However, Elena being especially nice to Stefan is still far more in character that her wanting Damon dead, which is probably why Stefan wasn't particularly disturbed by her behaviour towards him. Anyway, I really hope they don't bring back some love triangle. I get the impression that Stefan is ready to move on without Elena, which is a good thing.
To me Stefan has proven it twice. Once when he stood by Katherine dying [I interpreted that as saying goodbye to his past] And when Katherine/Elena came on to him at the party [Saying goodbye to his present] and hotel, he was the first to turn away. He beat Fate, plus Stefan has always been the one who has managed to walk away from the women he is suppose to love. Proving he is not dependant on them even though it may hurt. Damon is the one who countless times proven he is completely dependent on the women he loves. They are his identity and obsession.
I think this is one of the first Vampire Diary episodes that I've liked in quite a while. It figures that everyone else would hate it, LOL! For starters, I'm just glad that they finally figured out Katherine's ruse.. Other things I liked about the episode: 1. Enzo showing some redeaming qualities. I've wanted his character dead (i.e gone forever) for quite a while now, but the way he stuck by Damon made me really like him. 2. Stefan caring more about Damon than rekindling a romance with Elena!.This is one of the reasons I like Stefan's character so much. This was also the first episode that where I got the feeling that Stefan was finally managing to get over Elena. 3. Stefan and Caroline: I think they have one of the best (and healthiest) friendships on the show. I like the fact that they are able to be honest with each other without judgement. I think they'd make a great couple, but if they remained friends, I'd be OK with that too. I think they bring out the best in each other. 4. Tyler's conversation with Caroline: I give points to Tyler for apologizing to Caroline (even though I can understand his initial anger) and I also like that he broke it off with her for good. He couldn't have stated it any better. Caroline slept with the person who killed his mother. You just don't get over that. But I like that they were able to be civil with each other and that he came back and protected her and Matt against Nadia. I hope that Tyler can get his own story that doesn't revolve around Caroline, but sadly, I have the feeling that his character will be Bonniefied. 5. Matt's calculated seduction of Nadia....only to be ruined by the less-than-subtle texting! It's a miracle he's still alive. 6. Damon finally showing some humanity. I expected him to still care for Elena and Stefan but I was impressed by how hard he tried to avoid hurting his friend Enzo. I actually felt terrible for Damon when he told Stefan that he was convinced that Elena had given up on him and wanted him dead.
Things I didn't like: 1. Katherine; There is only so much of Katherine I can take in one episode and this particular episode exceeded my Katherine quota in the first 20 minutes. 2. Watching a 500 year old vampire act like a silly annoying high school teenager. Yes, I'm still referring to Katherine. It's hard to think of her as Nadia's mother, Nadia just seem so much more mature. 3. The recurring absence of Bonnie and Jeremy.
The traveler that got her heart ripped out probably found another body. The dagger is supposed to be the only way to really kill a traveler. I think Tessa just forced her way into the other side because she wanted to be with Silas. She might have been able to do that because she created the other side. Maybe the traveler that Katherine killed told the other travelers what happened when she got settled into a new body. I'm not sure if that would make any difference, though. It hasn't been established whether travelers follow a code of ethics, or if they would want to help Elena or just take revenge on Katherine for causing so much trouble. Katherine called travelers "hypocrites," so she might have a bad relationship with their kind, or that could have just been some daddy issues talking. It's hard to say if anything is different because Katherine killed that traveler. Nadia did seem very nervous when it happened, as if Katherine might have caused a problem. I guess we'll see.
I'm starting to get anxious to see Katherine die, too. While I have reasons for wanting to see Elena restored to her body, it seems like the same old stories will continue with the love triangle. I'm a little conflicted about this, but hopefully we'll get more Steroline mixed in there to keep things interesting. I'm not much of a shipper, but I love the thought of anyone branching out of the triangle. I think Julie Plec is mouthing off about Katherine so much on Twitter, and Katherine was made to do something so evil, so that people would be glad to see her go and fans wouldn't keep bugging the EPs to bring her back. What I don't like is what I've been seeing in the comments on Twitter. There have been some seriously uncalled-for insults to the poor woman from die-hard fans of Elena. I love Elena as a character, but for reasons that make me not want to call Julie Plec or anyone else an "ugly beyotch." I don't know how she handles it. I've never seen so many insults slung at someone who isn't an actor.
Yes, where the heck are Bonnie and Jeremy and why don't people even mention it?!?!?! Also agree with too much Katherine. I am so over her and the gang not realizing that it's her. Enzo is so pretty, I don't want to loose him. I love that he is giving us some reasons to want him to stay.
I know you didn't. No worries. I was completely calm when I wrote that. (But overly tired it was a quarter to 5am). I just wanted to put that out there b/cI didn't want anyone to thinkI was comingg off bitchy or snarky, that wasn't my intention. And let me know when you catch up. And wth is Bomanic?? Is that supposed to be Bonnie, Matt, and Alaric as one??
Trust me my friend I don't plan on catching up :) I've been happy seeing a few [very few] Salvatore moments on YT, but I can pretty much predict the story. I've done it accurately so far. Bomanic as in Titanic.....the ship I hoped for sunk by an Iceberg called Julie Plec :)
I absolutely loved Enzo in this ep. So loyal to Damon and the 2 are damn funny together. They make such an awesome team. Also the guy that plays Enzo needs his own show, he so so handsome, definitely leading man material.
I'm not coming back for S6. The few scenes are getting fewer and I don't mind cause there are plenty of more well written, character and story driven shows out there. When you realise your spending 85% of the time complaining and the rest hoping for some change.....its time to leave.
I'm surprised it took them this long to know it was not Elena. I guess they don't know her anymore. Know how are they going to get Elena back? Is she just deep inside of her own body or is she really just not there.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
