LOS ANGELES, CA (February 13, 2014) – All will finally be revealed in the final season of Lifetime’s critically-acclaimed hit series Drop Dead Diva (#DropDeadDiva), premiering Sunday, March 23, at 9pm ET/PT with a special two-hour premiere. Starring Brooke Elliott and Emmy Award nominee Margaret Cho, Drop Dead Diva follows the story of shallow model Deb who suddenly dies in an accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-sized attorney, Jane. Colin Egglesfield (The Client List), Virginia Williams (How I Met Your Mother) and Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) guest star in the season opener, while Grammy winner Rick Springfield will make an appearance and perform later this season, along with Jay DeMarcus from Rascal Flatts. Golden Globe and Emmy winner S. Epatha Merkerson also reprises her role as Judge Hiller, while Emmy nominee John Ratzenberger returns as Kim’s father, Larry Kaswell.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the one-hour comedic drama stars Elliott (Wicked, Taboo), Cho (Cho Dependent), Jackson Hurst (Scandal), Kate Levering (Cashmere Mafia), April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men), Lex Medlin (Southland) and Justin Deeley (90210).

At the close of last season, Jane (Elliott) thought she would finally have her happy ending with Grayson (Hurst), until Brittany (Old Jane) revealed to Grayson that Jane isn’t who he thinks she is. In the season six premiere, Jane is forced to finally tell the truth to Grayson, but his reaction leaves her more lost than ever. Meanwhile Owen gets a visit from his estranged brother, Charlie (Egglesfield), that puts his personal life and The Firm at risk. As Jane buries herself in work once again to hide from the problems in her life, she discovers her new pro bono case has high stakes with the U.S. government. With Kim (Levering) on maternity leave, a new lawyer, Belinda (Williams) joins The Firm and gives Jane a run for her money.

Since its launch, Drop Dead Diva has won prestigious industry awards, including multiple GLAAD Awards, as well the Gracie Award for Individual Achievement by a Female Rising Star for Brooke Elliott. This January, the show was nominated for another GLAAD Award in the Outstanding Individual Episode category. Throughout its run the series has received numerous nominations for Prism Awards, NAACP Image Awards, CableFax Awards, and it was a contender for the revered Humanitas Prize™.

Josh Berman (Bones, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) is the creator and executive producer. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Bonnie & Clyde, Sound of Music Live!) of Storyline Entertainment and Robert J. Wilson are executive producers.
