Best scene was Oliver learning that Slade is alive. Also good ones were the Lance family dinner, Laural/Sara reunion and Felicity taking down the Clock King.
Oliver learning that Slade is alive was hands down one of the anticipated scenes for me ever since I saw the pilot with an arrow through Deathstroke's "proto" mask simply because that was obviously not the end of Slade Wilson. It took a season and a half and we finally have the two meeting in present day and in such a chilling manner that reminds me of Bane in 'Knightfall' that made his presence known as he walked straight into Wayne Manor to confront Bruce. But also in a much more dramatic moment, the entire storyline of Sara and how she came to be Sin's "protector" was done very well and it made me appreciate the bond between Sara and Sin even more. Some very well executed scenes in this episode for sure.
Oliver learning Slade was alive. Oliver confronting Laurel was the best acted scene and I would have given it but Oliver just invaded Lance family dinner and started a relationship with the same sister he cheater Laurel with. He has no moral high ground to chastise Laurel even though lot of things he said was true.
Ok, I voted the Second highest one. B/c duh, I can't help it.Hahahaha But honestly I read the list too fast, so I actually didn't see the Slade option. I would've changed my mind and voted Slade. I've been waiting for that for a while. We all have. Waiting for Slade to make his presence known. And it was done Perfectly!!
I mean that handshake!! whoa! That handshake alone had dialog. It said, "I'd rip your arm off right now if Moira wasn't standing right behind me. But that would be fast torture for you and I want to take my time. So for now I'll just squeeze the hell out of your hand til I see you have turned pink in the face then comment on it. And yes that pain you feel, isn't a pinch trying to wake you up, the the pain of me cutting off your circulation. Yes that's right Oliver, I'm back and it's time for you to pay Kid." .....All within 2 seconds. That was amazing.
1) Other - Felicity being stiched up and blabing. 2) Oliver learns that Slade Wilson is alive (only no 2 cause I've been expecting they would pay it out like this from the promos.) 3) Oliver tells Laurel he's done being there for her
Mhhm I was able to pick 3 Options, did they Change smth? I have two souls in my chest regarding the olicity moment, I enjoyed it. But actually I would have prefered if Oliver would have expressed it more amicable, the romantic side was just way too upfront for me at this point.
Geez! Was that an option?? Were we able to vote 3 choices?? LOL i seriously was not paying attention. Epic fail on my part. Facepalm! You felt it as romantic?? B/c i really didn't. And i'm a huge Olicity shipper. But i didn't take it as romantic, from his side. I just took it as reassurance...in the most cutest way ever!! (happy sigh).
I saw it as you did. But how it was done could be interpreted romantically. Just would have prefered straight out amicable. Don't get me wrong,I loved him reassuring her and want them to happen at some point. Its becasue I just rewatched S1 I clould not help to notice Olicity scenes are more often ambiguous now. At the beigining of this season it even felt rushed for me and I am glad they have tuned it down a bit. I just get a bit nervous because I want to enjoy them as long as possible.
Umm, as I said laaast night. I zoned during that scene. I found myself trying to figure out the song that was playing in the background. And i was looking at my screen. But got lost i her physical appearance. And iI didn't hear a damn thing she said until the end of the speech. Lol Next thing i I knew they were hugging and iI was happy/relieved about that.
Wow really?? Ok. you and i are completely different on that regard. I just had this conversation with someone else a few days ago. And i swear if i could find the comment i posted (which i will look for later) i'd copy and paste right now. And give you my view of how i have seen their relationship grow a lot from last season to this one. But i'm watching my show right now. So i'll be back later.
Hmm i loved every second of this ep i loved everything Sara especially the Felicity and Sin stuff and I'm going to give a big thumbs up to Katie Cassidy for the apology scene to Sara well done Katie
I wanted to punch Laurel, but then again I have that urge every time I see her on the screen. Oliver telling Laurel off was great. Felicity and Oliver's end scene was awesome!!!! The whole episode was fabulous :) Loved it!!!
Excuse me while I puke at seeing who's currently winning the poll. Yeah, it's great to have a formerly competent, capable and mature female character declare that her life's purpose is to be the "girl" of a man who's dating another woman. That's not gross at all.
Anyway, my top 3 scenes:: #1 Oliver/Laurel hallway scene. That was the rare moment on TV where a character says EXACTLY what you're thinking. He called Laurel on every single thing that's made her so unlikable this season: her selfishness, her insistence that no one has had it worse than her (or can understand what she's been through), her pattern of blaming everyone else for her problems, her cold and obnoxious treatment of the people who keep trying to be there for her. It was perfect and she badly needed to hear it. Looks like it worked, too, because soon she was patching things up with Sara and finally going to an AA meeting. I'm so relieved that the writers didn't remain oblivious to how they've been writing Laurel as such an intolerable character, and acknowledged it here. #2 The ending. The only way it could've been better if is I hadn't seen the promo pictures for next week, because after realizing Slade will mee Moira & Thea in the Queen mansion and having Stephen Amell tease a killer cliffhanger this week, I had a feeling this was how the episode was going to end. Still, great scene. Oliver's face, that CRACK when Slade shook his hand, the way Slade spit "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Queen"... Manu Bennett is doing a great job of making Slade a BAMF to be feared. I doubt Oliver could form any coherent thought at that moment beyond, "I'm fucked." #3 Sara/Sin. I've missed them! And it was sweet. Not sure the backstory reveal was necessary thought.
I'm also glad Laurel went to the AA meeting, as I said... and I guess it's a relief the Lance sister drama is behind us, although that scene should've probably been more balanced. It seemed like Laurel was the only one apologizing when Sara should've clearly reciprocated.
There are probably a lot of viewers who feel that way, they just aren't as loud as the ones calling for Sara's gory death because she's with Oliver and therefore getting in the way of a certain ship.
'Oliver assures Felicity that she will always be his girl' winning the poll, seriously? But anything that has even a hint of Olicity is bound to win even when it feels forced, but try telling the shippers that!
Apparently no one wants women to be portrayed in a dignified way, it's much better to have them give googly eyes to another woman's boyfriend and make their insecurity all about not being that man's "girl" rather than their place in the team.
Yeah that's what I don't get either. My take of that line is that Oliver meant that she has already earned her place on the team. NCIS: LA has the same problem now with Deeks and Kensi shippers that ruin certain aspects of the show for me.
Not a shipper AT ALL. I really think Sara and Sin are the best additions to the show ever just wish it didn't seem like Felicity's awesomeness hadn't taken a hit in what seems like a direct correlation. It's like there can only be one awesome adult female character on the show at a time or something.
I know right? I've been patiently waiting for this reveal. Oliver knows. I feel like Oliver and Slade are in a similar situation as Oliver in Laurel. Lots of history and caring but so much mud under the bridge and you can sympathize with both sides (or at least I can). Can't wait to see the emotional fallout as well their action packed confrontation scene.
I do see a development between them. It's just I feel every third scene is made ambiguous on purpose (implying romantic feeligs, which is a fast forward for me). Just rewatched the "My Girl" scene and have to correct myself. The way Oliver says it to Felicity is amicable, the hand is what gave me the impression of a romantic implication (although it was sweet (talking about two souls in my chest)). I'll look out for your comment, maybe I'll stumble across it.
Hahaha i know the meaning of the word, but thank you. = ) Ok, I found the comment i posted a view days ago. So i'm going to paste it here. This is exactly how I have viewed them. Since last season......
I haven't. As a shipper, i didn't start shipping them til wayy later. But i really never got the feeling that Felicity was interested in Oliver til recently. Found him attractive, yes. (i mean hello who wouldn't?) But being attracted TO him, no. They did build a lot though, from the first season, to this season. For me, I see/saw them as... Strangers-Co-workers-Associates-Friends-Concubines-and now unsure/what if, feelings for one another. And Ollie does find her attractive. We've seen that. But he is not attracted to her....yet. lol
That's how i see them. Right now, for me anyway, both of them are on unsure/what if feelings, but it's still more so on Felicity's side then Oliver's. But i don't see the writers throwing it at us, every chance they get. And When Oliver said "My girl". I automatically thought of Buffy and Angel. Do you remember in season 3, when she broke up with him? And he said "You still my girl?" She replied, "Always." And then walked away? Well that for me said, that no matter, who she dates, or if they're in a relationship or not. He will always have a piece of her heart. She has a special place in her heart for him and the connection they have will never go away no matter what. That's what Oliver was saying to her. They have a bond/relationship that can never be severed. No matter who comes in the picture.
Ya I just felt like he said his girl cause thats what Felicity called it, I got no romatic feelings out of it at all. More placating her because she was drugged lol
I just see it as Oliver reassuring Felicity as a important part of the team nothing else the fact that he goes from that straight to Sara should have made that point concrete
It's so nice that you didn't read too much into the handshake LOL but his face actually said all that and Oliver's was "oh cr**" LOL. and I liked how you ended Slade's thought with "kid" like he calls Oliver :)
For the first time ever I voted fora non-Olicity scene because John Diggle and Felicity Smoak stole the whole damn show. I adore them so much. Other than that, Moira is a BEAST! Tell him Mama. And Slade Wilson is in the building YO! We could have had so much more Slade this episode if this show would stop placing so much focus on the Lances each and every show. I just don't care.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oliver confronting Laurel, Sara/Sin and the ending.
ReplyDeleteSlade. No competition.
ReplyDeleteFelicity with her "aspirins".
ReplyDeleteBest scene was Oliver learning that Slade is alive. Also good ones were the Lance family dinner, Laural/Sara reunion and Felicity taking down the Clock King.

ReplyDeleteThe telling off was just too satisfying to ignore.
ReplyDeleteOliver learning Slade was alive. Oliver confronting Laurel was the best acted scene and I would have given it but Oliver just invaded Lance family dinner and started a relationship with the same sister he cheater Laurel with. He has no moral high ground to chastise Laurel even though lot of things he said was true.
ReplyDeleteOliver telling Laurel he is done (here is oping he actually sticks to that), and Oliver finding out that Slade is still alive.
ReplyDeleteOk, I voted the Second highest one. B/c duh, I can't help it.Hahahaha But honestly I read the list too fast, so I actually didn't see the Slade option. "I've loved you for half of my life. But I'm done chasing you." Gah! Best. Line. Ever.
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Is it wrong that I clapped my hands and cheered during that whole scene, and especially during that line?
ReplyDeletePfft! NOPE! I did the same thing. In fact, i'm thinking of sending the writers a fruit basket. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL .That was so funny.
ReplyDelete1) Other - Felicity being stiched up and blabing.

ReplyDeleteJust kidding.
Maybe.

ReplyDeleteHahaha thanks. I mean it's true! That's what i saw. I mean jesus, could he have been less subtle with his hand? Hahaha
ReplyDeleteLmao!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to be of service *takes a bow*
ReplyDeleteBtw, what did you think of the Laurel/Sarah scene at the end?
I saw it as you did. But how it was done could be interpreted romantically. Just would have prefered straight out amicable. Its weird i think that line was bad to the Olicity ship not good and totally cemented her in the friend zone
ReplyDeleteYour not alone i got a little teary it was just such a beautiful scene and it only put the icing on the cake for me for why i love Sara so much
ReplyDeletelol true arrow close out their episodes better than anyone i think
