  1. Both are equally bad.

  2. Then why on earth do you watch it?

  3. Such a difficult choice..but I think that Season 2 just has it for me. It has been much stronger from the start and while we may not all like some aspects of S2 it has laid the foundations for a show that could run for season after season and that is surely what all true #Beasties want! I do miss the VinCat romance of S1 but I have faith it is on it's way :)

  4. I absolutely love S2. S1 was great introduction to the series, it was slower pace and of course we had amazing VinCat scenes. However considering how S1 ended, of course it would have huge impact on the characters especially Vincent. Its impossible to compare S1 with S2 cos nothing is the same anymore especially Vincent.
Personally S2 is more exciting, more edgier and I love the challenges the characters are facing. It definitely shows the immense talent they all have. Jay Ryan my goodness watching his facial expressions gives me goose bumps, extremely talented and deserves recognition.
It pains me like most Beasties to see our VinCat apart and going through this difficult phase but its necessary to the storyline and this separation will only make their love stronger. We finally saw them in last week's episode 11 have heart to heart and slowly but surely they'll find each other again.
Love this show and cannot wait for 212.#BatB

  5. Not sure there both good i just hope this show won't get cancelled

  6. For me season 2 wins, although it is still not a series I would care if it was gone. I have never seen chemistry between Cat and Vincent, in fact much more between Gabe and Cat. Those scenes were hot.

    ReplyDelete
  7. really? lol amazing how different views people can have. to me there is no chemistry at all between cat and gabe and sizzling chemistry between vincent and cat

  8. This is my opinion and I really mean no offence to the fans. But since there is this poll, I think maybe I could voice my opinion here.

I used to be a fan but I stopped watching after episode 2 of season 2. So, automatically, for me season one was better, even that it was not as good as it should be. Some of my points why:

    1) Kat is supposed to be this strong confident character but episode by episode, whenever she is with Vincent, she quickly turned into a hormonal infatuated female teenager. She couldn't think straight when it came to Vincent which was a big flaw for me. I still remember how she prioritized Vincent over her father's funeral, which for me was not supposed to be a character of a strong detective.

    2) The writers always wrote things where Kat had to choose between two things and one of the two was Vincent and she always chose Vincent. Between Vincent and her best friend, bet Vincent and her career, between Vincent and her father's funeral. Like, why can't it be written where she could have both?

    3) I'm sure that this is just me, but the obligatory Kat-Vincent scene in the beginning and the end of each episode was just too cringeworthy to me. They made her fall in love with Vincent too quickly, which is again a character a strong detective shouldn't have. Just look at Carter from Person of Interest, that's how a detective should be like.

    4) The show was used to be on a case-by-case basis each week but the storyline about the beast army program was too much.

Again, sorry if I offended anyone. This is just my opinion which is subjective to my own experience.

  9. Anna, I totally agree. The chemistry between Vincent and Catherine was sizzling from the start. Even when they're apart you can feel it. I'm glad most of us feel this way. But it's funny tl see these different views #BatB!

I love the direction season two is taking, Yes I miss Vincent from Season One, but Jay Ryan is doing such an amazing job portraying the beast side of Vincent that we really did not see last year. I have faith that VinCat will be back stronger and better than last year. The characters have more depth this year and the production values are much better. I really hope this series gets renewed despite being treated like the red headed step child of the CW.

  11. Didn't know you watched the show. I think season 1 Gabe and Cat had chemistry but not in season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Even though season 1 was awesome for VinCat, I went back and watched all of season 1 and then 2 and I noticed that by the end of season 1, I was getting bored with the show (which really surprised me). Yea I loved all the romance, but season 2 has so much more action and the dialogue is better. It's hard watching and not having Vincent and Cat together but that's such a small part of a whole and I think that everyone is so focused on VinCat that they're missing out on everything else about the show. I like the direction the writers have taken these last few episodes.

  13. To address your concerns I suggest you watch S2. Many, if not all, of your concerns have been addressed. Cat and Vincent broke up because she chose herself, her career, and her friends over Vincent. The main point of the season is to discover who they are separately before they find out who they are together. Also, the obligatory beginning and ending of Vincent and Catherine together are gone. In fact, we have seen many episodes where the endings are Cat and Tess, or Cat and Gabe. The show is much more realistic and I find that I enjoy it more. I too was disheartened to see Vincent and Catherine end up together so quickly, and I knew that it was going to be the shows demise, but I was sucked into the love story and ultimately I am glad that I stuck with it. It has become one of my favorite shows and indeed my favorite time each week. I implore you to watch S2 before you make your decision. If you still feel that S1, and indeed the show itself, is a waste I will gratefully accept your opinion and wish you the best of luck. Best wishes, The Beasties.

  14. Hey now. Us redheaded step children take offense to that. ;-)

  15. \I want to start by saying I love this show and will always support it, no matter what. I think the overall vision for Season 2 is stronger than Season 1. There are MANY aspects of Season 2 that I am enjoying. I understand that Season 2 is all about a whole Season story, BUT it is not the whole season story that we watch episode to episode and that is where I feel the season was weak. Season 1 was an amazing season and got everyone excited and totally into the show and I mean totally. Ithink the action and drama was amped up in Season 2 which was again good. I am choosing SEASON 1 because the switch from what we saw in Season 1 to Season 2 was too extreme. Whether the characters got together too soon in Season 1 or not, doesn't really matter because they did. I think the acting this year, in this difficult season has been outstanding! I feel that on paper the vision was strong and looked to be successful BUT once the episodes starting airing, it wasn't as successful as hoped. I personally feel that instead of making the characters stronger in their quest for who they are, it made them unbearable, and I do not mean just Cat and Vincent; all of the characters have been pretty well assassinated other than Gabe the one who knowingly compromised everyone in Season 1. Now he is being portrayed as the hero of the whole season and the one Cat is suppose to have a relationship with. What I miss about season 1, is not so much the VINCAT romance but the camadarie of the actors, the writers, etc all of that. Last year, to me, we all felt like part of the BEASTIE FAMILY and I do not feel that this year. Last year, I feel that the season, though it started as being only a 13 episode season, then was bumped up to 22 episodes, was more balanced and watchable. There WAS a good balance of action, intrigue, challenge AND the ROMANCE that this show is all about. And humour! That has been sorely missing this year and some of the main lovable charcters from last season have barely been visible and newcomers have stolen the spotlight. Yes, in Season 2 we will get back to the love story but in my opinion, the episodes themselves have not been near as watchable as the ones in Season 1. Some of them have been downright heartwrenching and scewed and have not been as entertaining as last year and it has been hard for many fans to keep watching and keep the faith that we all had last year. Now we are starting to get back VERY SLOWLY to what we all want and if the writers were not forced to fast track things a bit, we would be waiting even longer. This is an amazing show and my ulitimate hope is that we get a season 3.

  16. If by better you mean more compelling storytelling ~ exciting action sequences ~ heartbreaking angst ~ more mystery and intrigue then yes Season 2 of BatB is bigger better and badassier!!! I love Season 1 for my sweet VinCat romance and I love Season 2 for the stronger plots which makes BatB a far more interesting series to watch as a whole. Praying tweeting and roaring for many more fanfriggintastic seasons of BatB to enjoy! :o)

  17. I liked Season 1 better.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You know what? We can't even compare the two seasons because for all practical purposes, they're different shows with the same name. S2 may be bigger and better in production values and scripts but it's not what I fell in love with last year so I will be biased and I will pick S1 despite it's issues :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Can't choose cause we haven't see all of S2. Not a huge fan of the first 1-10 episodes but when I look back I see things that were leading up to events that are coming to light now. I might not have liked the way something played out in Ep 208 but as we progress I can see how it was important and how it ties in. Still on the fence but of course S1 right now I miss the connection we had with VinCat. Saw it in 211 but not sure its back for good with the pics for 212. Just hanging on for dear life.

I like season 2 better than the first. Having watched season 1 and 2 in 4 days I saw a big difference. The second season is by far more paced, edgier and less "naïve"(when they talk feelings). Yes there was great VinCat scenes in S1 but at times it felt like it was always push/pull and vice versa when we always knew they would end up together at the end of each ep. Now things are more uncertain and I like that. S1 was a great premise for the show but I think for S2 the arc is far more interesting to me. And endings of episodes are less "certain" if that makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry, better in script? How can this crap can be better? How can a script that shows Cat finding out who's her real father is just by looking at a picture can be described as better? How can a script that puts the characters repeating the same sentence over and over again as they did in episode 9 can be a good script?
This whole season is a joke and I'm glad to know the show's end is coming. At least, the actors would be free to look for real good jobs.

  22. Angela Paraboschi31 January 2014 at 14:55

The second season is amazing intrigue, mistery, action, jealousy desire. It's not trivial and flat, the story takes a pepper in their love and when they will be together again....wow it will be epic

    ReplyDelete
  23. are different the first season ... it romatica with action ... The second season is the pursuit of love .. and of the truth 'about the links ... I love #BATB and the story is epic

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love the S2. This year, the plot is more complete and exciting. Sometimes I miss the scenes on the rooftop or on the fire escape, but I have full confidence in the writers. The romantic moments of S1 surely will return.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love unconditionally BATB! Season2 wins for now!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love this show and will always support it, no matter what. I LOVE BOTH THE TWO SEASONS!

  27. a me piacciono entrambe le stagioni perchè a me piace questa storia I Love #BATB!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anyone who thinks Season 2 is better should check the ratings. The ridiculous direction the story has taken has destroyed the very fabric of season 1. Pulling Vincent and Catherine apart would have been ok without the brutality of the separation and the stupidity of the triangles. A she beast and a creepy boss ...who never does any work just stalks Cat. I think a lot of big egos are at play here. A more believable story ...sticking with the unchangeable fairytale fee would have saved the show.

    ReplyDelete
  29. mi piacciono entrambe le serie ma nella seconda rivolgio al più presto i VinCat

  30. Beth Anne Petrino31 January 2014 at 15:41

I thought one was better but 2 is pulling in. Now how can we pull others in and get ratings up? I love the show and chemistry with actors. I dont want to see it go away for another teen show. #batb come in cw lets figure it out. Funny i was watching fox news yesterday saw ads for reign but # batb where are they.

  31. season 1 was great, but so is season 2, keeps getting better and better

    ReplyDelete
  32. I absolutely love both S1 and S2 for different reasons. S1 had love and romance, S2 is has raised the bar because of what happened at the end of S1. BATB is an amazing show and the writers and the cast have done an amazing job on both S1 and S2. As far as VinCat, the best is yet to come!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. A very difficult choice ......although I chose season 2 doesn't mean season1 was not good. I loved it just like so many fans. I fell in love with the characters from day 1 and never looked back. The absence of VinCat in Season2 makes the show more challenging but we cannot have that throughout can we? I like the direction the show is taking and each time I rewatch an Ep I realise how good Season 2 really is! Now more than ever, the story leading to the 'meant to be' arc will surely make it even more awesome!

I love the season 2! I want the season 3!

    ReplyDelete
  37. As much as I loved Season 1 and the somewhat shy, sensitive Vincent I have to say that Season 2 is much better . There is more excitement, mystery and intrigue in the storylines that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats and guessing about the outcome. In my opinion the writers, cast - everyone - are doing a fantastic job. I remain hopeful for Season 3 ... and more! This show has the potential for a long run.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't know who will win the poll but numbers speak . Everyone can see B&B numbers have dropped a lot in S2 and the only ones that can be blamed for that are the writers. I remember when they said on summer how they were going to make changes, separate Vincent and Cat. And they did that. And not just that, they brought triangles back. After what happened last season with Alex and the fans, this season they brought back not just one triangle but two !! Tori and Gabe !! And Gabe almost killed Vincent last season , and they expect us to love him now ? OMG. A lot of fans have stopped watching the show, numbers ate there to see and you can only blame that to the direction the show has taken in S2.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Season one was better in the sense that it was Catherine and Vincent against the world, but while the love story was what captured my attention, I'm enjoying a lot of aspects in season 2 that season one didn't have.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Season 1 is waaaaaaayyyyyyy better. Season 2 has ruined the Beauty and the Beast and its characters. Season 2 has made a mockery of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale and has wasted time on useless characters such as Tori when they could be focussing on VinCat. Season 1 portrayed EPIC love while Season 2 has destroyed it and doesn't understand what EPIC really is. SEason 2 has made the main characters so unlikeable and I think a SEason 3 is NOT deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Agree Teresa! You would think they would have learnt their lesson from SEason 1 mistakes! ALL my friends stopped watching because of the love triangles and no one else I know is interested in watching BatB after I told them what is going on. There is NO connection between VinCat in SEason 2.
Yes, in the summer when I heard that they were going to break up VinCat and introduce love triangles, I was not planning on watching, but I thought there was NO way it would be that bad because I figured they would have learnt from the Alex arc. They OBVIOUSLY didn't and Season 2 is absolutely AWFUL! The action is great but the love story is the heart and soul of the Beauty and the Beast. They've showed how easily Vincent cheats on his women - he cheated on Alex with Gabriela and he has cheated on Catherine with Alex and Tori.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love both seasons
the first is a sweetheart with so much love and very sexy
the second is a mythological adventure and very dynamic and full of feelings #BatB

    ReplyDelete
  43. THERE'S NO WAY ON EARTH season 2 has been better than season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love them both for very different reasons. Season 1 for the love, passion and awkwardness. season 2 for rediscovery and for story lines. But do miss my Vincat. Roaring for season 3

    ReplyDelete
  45. I first started watching S2 first then went
back to watch S1. Love both but prefer S2. S1 was more one dimension and did not
create too much room for character growth. S2 is more dimensional.
Particularly, S2 have created many challenges to the Vincent character. Jay
Ryan has done a extraordinary job in showcasing the complexities of this
character, drawing you close to his heart to feel his beast-side’s pain,
anguish, betrayal and yet the tenderness underneath (which most viewers of S1
fell in love with.) His acting talent definitely is under-rated by CW. I also love
the broadening of the horizons of the characters,
which are the souls of the show. To me,
it doesn’t matter which direction #BatB takes us to. Especially to a fantasy/Sci-Fi
show, I believe it is entirely up the creativity and talent of the writers. And
that is the weakness-link to this show. Great writing can make unbelievable
storyline into amazing dreams-come-true. I truly pray that #BatB will
get a Season 3 - givving a chance to the writers to catch-up with the hardwork
of the extraordinary talented cast and crew and in order to attract more
    viewers.

  46. I love both seasons of course, but with all the inconsistencies of two, I had to go with the one we all fell in love with, in addition I have to say season two has all been about Gabe it's his show now with Vincent being relagated to his backup, I'm not loving that, I still love the show of course, just waiting on the wrong to be righted!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. It was a difficult choice, I love S1 as it's what hooked me into this show but as much as the first part of S2 has been hard to watch I see it all coming together now and I am really loving S2 a lot more, guess patience really does pay off. I love the direction the show is going and with the uncertainty of S3 I fear the writers having to rush the story line so that we don't get left hanging at the end of the season. Which is really a shame because #BATB has captivated my imagination more than any other show I am currently watching. In fact many of those other shows are being left in my PVR queue as I have very little interest in watching them at the moment, all my time and interest is in re-watching Beauty and the Beast until the next new episode.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love this show regardless. Both seasons are different and I enjoyed every episode, some better than others, but every show has good and bad. Others may have abandoned this show because they didn't like the direction it was taking. I love that the writers are taking the fairy tale into account and writting in the mythology in S2. It adds another dimention to the show. Its a saga and I can't wait to see where the writers take the fairy tale part. As I stated before, I love this show like my dogs love me, UNCONDITIONALLY.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love both seasons!!! #batb is the best!!

  50. so true...the one who kidnapped Cat...tried to kill Vincent and is now just creepy. He has no role in the show except stealing scenes from JT, Tess and even Vincent and stalking Cat like a creepy pervert...WIth him gone it would be a better show...they are writing the show around him and it is full of inconsistencies and flaws...

    ReplyDelete
  51. And, to me that is the down fall of season two, TPTB, didn't care about the fact the Gabe character didn't have on screen chemistry with the rest of the cast as long as he was on screen during, the entire episode, the rest of the cast be damned as long as Sendil was on screen, I really hope they're is a satisfying end to this madness they put us through, so happy you agree!!!:)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wilma Gelderblom1 February 2014 at 17:33

I'm hoping that Gabe will turn into the ultimate baddie again-at least he'll have his own story then, I agree with you that there has been way to much focus on him so far, & to be honest-it should stop sooner than later.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Both are good, but I did prefer season 1 because it was more like a fairytale.Season 2,however,has more action, and I do like the look of the new Vincent, just not the character as much.I really don't like Catherine as much either.Season 1,they both loved each other, this season,I don't see how they will get the characters back together in a way that fans are happy with.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I agree.Cat and Gabe,ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I agree.I prefer season 1 as well. The last 2 episodes however are getting better. We will see.But try watching again.Don't give up please! They should be together soon.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Agreed.I do love the last 2 episodes however.Hope the writers will hurry before the fans get tired.I plan on watching til the end, though, because I do want this show to get renewed.Love Jay and Kristin on this show.

  57. Well said!Writers, straighten up!

  58. I wonder who Gabe knows to get so much airtime, over Tess and J.T.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I agree.I stated earlier,he must know someone, but people are really fed up with him.He has more screen time than most of them.Come on,we want J.T. and Tess writers.

  60. I deeply love both S1 and S2. They are different and that is a major reason why I love them so much! Surprises are always around the corner and I cannot wait for the next episode to see ... All the actors are wonderful, but Jay Ryan, Austin Basis and Nina are surely my favorites. I am a faithful fan of the show from the first episode and I really hope to see more and more seasons of it! #BATB

  61. Thanks DarkUFO for this round of Season 2 vs. Season 1. #Beasties want a Season 3 and our USA efforts are the all-telling of this tale. Thought I would share what Nick Roman wrote back to me and it is interesting about the Live watching and goes in tune with what Wilma posted from Stephen Amell! A petition to stop Nielsen ratings from making a difference in shows that have International fans could result in allowing fans to request boxes be used in households that actually watch TV. If only 2M people have boxes in their homes, think what those numbers would mean to the US fan base? I personally don't know how many of those numbers equals ‪#‎BATB‬ watchers, but if Change.org can be used to get us a Season 3, maybe they could also be accommodating in voicing our concerns over the fairness of Nielsen ratings. They have been in the TV rating business since the 1950s and can't possibly realize what harm they have caused on a modern-day world. The US ‪#‎Beasties‬ have to made a stand against the unfairness and this should be accomplished soon!

"Debbie4cat I don't think I've ever actually participated in a campaign to save a show since Roswell on The WB over ten years ago, haha. But I really do love BATB, even when the plots aren't really doing it for me like I want them to.
I think one of the big problems the show faces is that most of the people who watch it aren't Nielsen families, meaning their viewership doesn't rate. For instance, my viewership doesn't rate because I don't have a Nielsen box. Of course, this doesn't mean your viewership doesn't count. It's a good thing if advertisers KNOW people are watching a show on which their product is being advertised: the way they'd know other than through ratings would be through social media, meaning that #BATB trending during airtimes would be a big plus. I think DVR viewership might also be a factor, so set it to record even if you're watching live, since I think that might also rate in Live+7 viewership (although I admit I'm not entirely sure how DVR viewership is factored in, when it comes to ratings). One of the big factors in saving BATB is to make certain it's not the lowest-rated show on the network. Last time I checked ratings it, thankfully, wasn't (The Carrie Diaries was; also Nikita, but that was in its final season, and has since ended).
I don't know what the chances are in terms of a hard percentage, since a renewal depends on a LOT of factors (ratings, one of the other two shows failing, CW deciding they can make enough money on international rights fees to offset the costs of production that they'd lose from the show being less popular here, etc.), but I see no point in being anything but positive. It's not over until it's over."

  62. I know right, lol!!!

  63. You are so right Donna. Creepy/pervert! As soon as the character entered in season 1, the writing went downhill. They made the story entirely about him. Again this season, they are trying to make him the lead star but they want him to be so holy and noble that he doesn't have any emotions. it shows. He is dull and boring and pretentious and overbearing.. While in general the writing in season 2 has been better, the plots are becoming childish to the extreme. At least if they are going to use a police precinct, do some homework and get it right. Instead, they are showing us how protective and concerned Gabe is from a safe distance. Yet everyone believes Vincent is the bad guy when he saves everyone every week. The Gabe character is actually ruining the show. If they must keep him around, put him as a supporting cast member.

    ReplyDelete
  64. How about "Avenge me; Beast up", |I'll protect you I promise"
    ?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Show has a low rating does not mean it's bad, I think the fans have been blinded to the fact that Vincat are together ... If you want the show to have more seasons, I do not see that possible.
I really loved the first season but the second is much better, although sometimes disagree with some plost.
The actors have improved a lot in a few months, you can see a big difference from last season.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I keep BATB fan, but with reservations. The change of first season to second Season was too radical - don't looks the same show. I think absurd the confidence from Cat on Gabe, he was the cause of the current situation VinCat. I season 1 was not perfect, but I see many outstanding issues in season 2, for example, what actually caused the death of the adoptive father Cat, she never did want to know, Vincent appeared in public and no one from his family meet with him. The fact is that half the season already and almost we not see VinCat in love - until now all very confusing, sometimes they seemed to be together and sometimes not.
I hope that VinCat's romance back at full strength.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I also never saw chemistry between Cat and Gabe.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Season 1 is better, because it is more chemistry and no stupid triangle.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Jay Ryan's work is amazing. Vincent's first season is very different from Vincent's second and he can project this perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  70. At the end of the day, BATB is a love story. Season 1 was an off the charts love story, and Season 2 is half over and nothing even remotely resembling a love story, the chemistry is completely gone, and they are shipping people who are so mismatched and devoid of any connection that is almost embarrassing not to mention somewhat painful to watch… Having watched 2.12 last night, I don't even recognize the show anymore…Will I continue to watch? Yes, because at the end of the day I am committed (due to Season 1). Are they losing hoards of viewers because of Season 2? Yes. Without a doubt. Unfortunately that's an absolute fact. Plain and simple.

  72. Not sure I can compare the two seasons : season 1 was all about soul and emotions. Season 2 is all about action and angst. Both have been pretty inconsistent but I can recall many awesome moments , images and dialogues from Season 1 - I don't recall any major moment or quote from Season 2.

I voted S2, as I really enjoy the new direction that the show is going, but- I really miss the VINCAT of S1- not worried though, I know they are slowly getting together again, and I can just imagine how awesome the next few episodes are going to be, with the story line, & Vincat- to my opinion, better than S1 .:) Ratings are not good, but that was also influenced by the fact that the show moved to Mondays, Canada airing before US, etc, so it's not necessarily S2 causing ratings to be lower.
