wow thank god i was not the only one under whelmed by that sneek peek. if we could have gotten a sneek peek would have liked to see crowley approaching dean at a bar at least that would have been more fun to watch.
Cas only went for burgers in My Bloody Valentine, when Famine was influencing, not Cas, but Jimmy, his vessel. Apparently Jimmy was a real meat and potatoes kind of guy. Since I think we're supposed to forget about Jimmy and all that vessel stuff for Cas, he now apparently likes PB&J. Or maybe convenience store Cas couldn't afford burgers and could afford PB&J. I'm not sure if Angel Cas actually eats, this scene makes it look as if he doesn't need to, but is trying to recapture the good about being human.
I don't mind keeping the good stuff in store for last week. When they're airing the sneak peek, i tend to get out of the episode for a moment since I already saw that scene about 10 time...so having a small scene unrelated to the big action and/or intrigue is fine with me
I liked that clip and found it funny. It didn't hurt the fact that PB&J has always been my favorite type of sandwich. As for why not burgers: I agree with others that the burgers were Jimmy's influence. And with the limited funds Cas had, PB&J would be an easy thing to eat.
Let's wait next week if they change it. Most of the them sneak peek either don't have soundtrack on it or there's some music who get change before airing time
Nobody is going to be watching this episode for Sam or Cas next week, They just needed to give Jared and Misha something to do for contractual reasons. I'm sure if they could have written them both out completely they would have.
I'll be watching this episode for Sam and Cas next week. I'm really excited about their interaction because it's so rare. In fact, I'm going to be writing a Sam/Cas fic tomorrow!
I hadn't thought of it like that but it does make sense. He was freaking homeless and then squatting in the store so yeah, I guess that's probably all he could afford.
Ha! I don't even read fanfic and that sounds interesting. I like that they're showing Sam and Cas interacting too. Despite what a lot of people in the fandom think they are friends but the writers just don't ever show them hanging out together, and I do like that Sam is not stuck at the bunker all by himself right now.
to be fair the whole episode is all about Dean and Crowley, there are a few minutes of Cas/Sam in the whole episode. I think Dean fans will be more than satisfied. They used one of the boring/pointless Sam/Cas scenes for the sneak peak because they probably just wanted to assure people that they were in the episode too so their fans dont just not bother tuning in.
There is absolutely nothing in any standard contract about a minimum of screen time per episode (unless there is a special clause because the actor is a douche). They could have written them out entirely. The promo photos for the week are equally Dean and Sam - both in dramatic scenes.
I honestly don't think they horsed around too much because this one is the one that's directed by that John Badham guy, who was a huge movie director back in the day. Jared and Misha are professionals above all else so they were probably on their best behavior for this episode.
If that's truly the reason Sam and Cas don't have a real relationship on the show, as a fan, I'm really pissed at them both. They're ruining the chances for what could be a great friendship. A REAL friendship, not this inferred garbage they've been doing for four years. They can have fun on set and still get the job done. Maybe one of the bosses needs to sit them down and tell them that. For the good of the show.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Am I dreaming??Sam and Cas interaction??I thought Christmas was over!!!!!!!!! <3
ReplyDeletewow that was stupid
ReplyDeleteThis is the sneak peek they give us? An angel eating a PB&J sandwich? Wow. Just wow.

ReplyDeletelol! I was thinking about it too. If it's not another writing inconsistency, probably it's a side effect of being human for a while.

ReplyDeleteOf course in typical Supernatural fashion they have to put in ridiculous music to match.
ReplyDeleteHe probably tried many food when he was human, he just found out there's others good stuff than burgers, nothing wrong with that

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm going to be writing "Sam/Cas in the bunker" fic tomorrow. Loved this sneak peek!

ReplyDeleteAgreed! Next week is clearly a Dean/Crowley episode. The Sam/Cas stuff is the "B" story.
