    1. Thanks everyone for participating. I had fun running this.

    2. Thanks very much @babar for taking the time to run this, much appreciated

    3. wow huge surprise white collar managed to get favorite cable drama and beat GOT and breaking bad.

      ReplyDelete
    4. That was a surprise for me too. GoT was in the lead at the beginning, but White Collar unexpectedly came from behind and won.

      ReplyDelete
    5. I am so surprised at the huge gap between Reign and The Originals. I honestly thought the competition would be between The Blacklist and The Originals. Kudos to White Collar - I voted for it, even though I kinda wanted Game of Thrones to win. And it is freaking amazing that there was only two votes between Neal Patrick Harris and Jim Parsons.

      ReplyDelete
    6. REIGN! ♥

      ReplyDelete
    7. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to @Babar Suhail for this competition and an awesome way to reveal the winners. Having to click on each subject to see the winners was very suspenseful, hahahaha, and the way you marked them (first, second and third) was fantastic! Great job, great job indeed!

    8. Psych wins Cable Comedy. Glad that happened.
I know I'll get some BATB hate for this, but, how does a show that no one watches get nominated for so many online awards, let alone win any of them?
I understand shows viewership & online presence are not always similar, but this one doesn't even come close to making sense. They cant even get 1 million viewers a week on a U.S. network channel. Yet, they manage to constantly get online accolades. I've never been so confounded by any show winning a fan based poll ever... let alone so many of them.
Congrats to them I suppose.... although I still don't get how they win.

      ReplyDelete
    9. I may not like the show, but BATB has a huge online present and that includes fans from all over the world

      ReplyDelete
    10. While The Blacklist is the far & away best show of the 2013 batch, it is not the type of show that will ever do well in fan based awards. It appeals to a older audience on average than The Originals or Reign will.

      ReplyDelete
    11. Good job, Babar.

To be honest, as I clicked on the boxes to see the winners, for all but two of them I thought "crap". Not surprised in the least, though.

I'm kind of happy with the podiums for best new comedy (I'd just switch The Crazy Ones and Brooklyn 99) and Orphan Black + The Americans as best new cable dramas (again, I'd switch the order).

And a few 2nd or 3rd places here and there (Community, Game of Thrones/Breaking Bad, Amy Poehler) are better than nothing.

      ReplyDelete
    12. My personal record, managed to not vote for one single winner.

      ReplyDelete
    13. Beauty and The Best won most of the awards along with Castle! Good for them.
Most of the winners are shows that I don't watch, aisde from TBBT and HIMYM. I really, reaaally wanted Revenge to win best network drama, but I knew it was a long shot.

Anyway, great job Babar! I really enjoyed voting in the polls, seeing and writing comments, it was quite fun!

      ReplyDelete
    14. This also happened with Fringe; huge online pressence, mediocre Friday's rating at best. The online fan base come from different countries, and make huge pressence. I'm sure BATB is a huge hit in some countries other than the USA

      ReplyDelete
    15. Give the others a chance/watch

      ReplyDelete
    16. As Babar said, it is because #beasties have the ability to vote 24/7 due to their large number of its international audience. This is also why we are always screaming and fighting for each season, because those with the ratings boxes aren't the ones that watch it, a lot of its viewers are online. Also viewership appears low because it is on Showcase the day before CW so there are alot of people that watch the show before it has aired in the States. The other shows don't do as well online but have the "actual" watches and Kudos to them. Congrats to all other winners though. I love and watch most of the shows that are on the list but BatB will always have my vote :)

      ReplyDelete
    17. Congratulations BATB, Jay Ryan & Kristin Kreuk! :) I am ROARING for you :)

      ReplyDelete
    18. I´m sure I´ll also get some "hate" about BatB, but this shows, once again and like with PCA, the show has a devoted fanbase who spend their hours voting! Only this way 2 awful actors - because imo the worst thing in BatB IS the acting - could "win" something!

      ReplyDelete
    19. Thank You Babar for running this poll Beasties are very proud of their show and we do our utmost to support it. Winning this is truly an honour and thrill. We are very aware of the might and passion of all the other Fandoms and we hold them in great regard. We continue our quest to highlight the fact that BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is really an intriguing and thrilling show to watch. the cast are so skilled and the crew excel in supporting the production. THE end result is an amazing hour of suspense, action, mythology, and epic romance. As we continue our quest for a third season we extend an invitation for all to come and join us in watching . You won't be disappointed .

Thank you well said #BATB. Love this show cant stand all the teenage zombie stuff

      ReplyDelete
    22. You're right, Pablo. BatB is a huge hit in Brazil! :D

      ReplyDelete
    23. so just two of my favorites won So Sad DDDD: .. Let`s hear the speeches now!
Im surprised Reign won over The Blacklist i enevr thought it would win tbh
It was great to have this awards you did a greab job dude!

      ReplyDelete
    24. I voted BatB because i love this show, look forward to watching it every week. Fan base internationally is awesome. They can't all be wrong, don't be fooled bt the fairytale title, it's just as action packed as the rest of the shows out there. I sometimes think the title is a deterrent to get people to watch.

      ReplyDelete
    25. Yes, and we can't all be wrong. I think people are thinking fairytale stuff when they see the title, which may not be helping the ratings, but it's action packed, just as much as the other action shows out there. Don't be fooled by the title

      ReplyDelete
    26. I know it's huge in Europe, I have cousins in Spain and the following and viewers there are enormous.

      ReplyDelete
    27. Yes thanks to Babar ! Thank you Zouza..I can only Ditto all your words!! We have an incredible show, cast and crew. Looking for to our journey to continue with Season 3...

      ReplyDelete
    28. Second season is totally revamped and action packed. And you are right, even though I tried to vote again it told me Inhad already voted.

      ReplyDelete
    29. Amen to that, I personally am addicted to BatB

      ReplyDelete
    30. Wow, just wow...

      ReplyDelete
    31. Beauty and the Beast ~ our kickass Beauty Kristin and our Sexy Beast Jay ~ TRIPLE THREAT WINNERS yeaaaaaaaaahhh!! WATCH #BatB and you'll know why!!!

      ReplyDelete
    32. Glad to see The Mentalist put up a good fight!

      ReplyDelete
    33. Well the good thing is that there is so much tv out there to be hating on the likes of other people right now, there are a zillion shows here in the USA without even count the ones from the rest of the worldn so there is something for everyone. But one thing is true tho, unfortunately Nielsen Household owners are not watching this show here in the USA, but the online following FB, twitter and any tv site has lots of beasties all over the place.

      ReplyDelete
    34. OMG, people only like to spew some hate in here every time BATB wins something, you can only vote once at spoilers polls, thus when you vote you couldnt see the results. But again beasties are everywhere, it has a lot of following in CA and the rest of the world unfortunately, not all nielsen box owners watch the show here in the USA but the show is very popular in the rest of the world.

      ReplyDelete
    35. THankyou Dahne, you always giving positive comments, I think is a good example of someone that doesnt like the show but still gives a good approach. Which some people were like this.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Ludmila Junqueira20 January 2014 at 07:27

I echo your words, simply perfect.

      ReplyDelete
    37. Ludmila Junqueira20 January 2014 at 07:35

Beauty and the Beast has a huge international FAN BASE.
It airs in over 25 countries worldwide, and that explains a lot

      ReplyDelete
    38. Ludmila Junqueira20 January 2014 at 07:48

I have seen many comments about people not understand how BATB can win so many polls.
You must first try and then criticize.
We live in a world where the real and true love is rarely seen, even on the screens, what makes BATB a single series to watch.
Beauty and the Beast has a huge international FAN BASE.
It airs in over 25 countries worldwide, and that explains a lot.

      ReplyDelete
    39. Beauty fans are just more likely to rally together and vote for their show, it obviously means a lot to them (the show and the winning). The show doesnt have many fans but they are dedicated.

      ReplyDelete
    40. No offence, but i'm looking forward to the CW cancelling BATB so it will stop winning awards that other shows deserve more. Overall the best result is The Crazy Ones winning best new comedy!!

      ReplyDelete
    41. Congrats to winners and great to see JR & KK from Bt&B get their win. So Babar, do you still think this hiatus break between March and May for Bt&B is a summer burn off ? I saw you mentioned that on one of your previous posts and know others feel the same and just curious as you may have a better understanding of what is going on. I have family and friends in Europe and yes it has a huge following there and they were more than baffled why some followers of other TV shows here in US were online hating on Bt&B and fans. It did seem a little intense after the People Choice awards. I do not watch Reign, Vampire Diaries, White Collar, Psych or many of the other shows mentioned here but people enjoy them and good for them. As like all the other Beasty fans would like to get a third season and maybe we will especially because of all the loyal and amazing Beasty fans are doing what they can to make that happen. So far season two has been fantastic and definitely vamped up with lots of action, suspense. Cat...KK is back to tough Cat kicking ass and JR ...Mr Beast is a little less sweet than before but in a really hot kick ass way.

      ReplyDelete
    42. Hope this translates, because as of now, Beauty and the Beast is on the bubble. There's no guarantee it'll be back in the fall.

      ReplyDelete
    43. Fun polls but think I'm going to stay away from these kind of polls in the future, painfully predictable.

      ReplyDelete
    44. WoW! Congrats to Jay Ryan, Kristin Kreuk and Beauty and the Beast!! winner of 3 categories!! Yay! thanks to all Beasties! we rock and we keep on roaring for our lovely show! thanks so much for this great news!!

      ReplyDelete
    45. No offense, but I would like to see CW renewing BATB and continue winning awards. We each have different shows that we like and each to their own. Who made you, or I the judge? Glad you like The Crazy Ones, I have never watched it but glad it won and hope you continue to enjoy.

      ReplyDelete
    46. Happy for Orphan Black, Reign (a surprise, I thought I was the only one loving it!) and The Crazy Ones.

I'm surprised White Collar beat Game of Thrones and not surprised at all Beauty and the Beast won so many, it has a huge online fanbase, sadly it doesn't translate to good ratings. This is going to be The Secret Circle all over again...

      ReplyDelete
    47. Finally someone highlighting the REAL winner here. Everyone was hating on Reign before it even premiered and saying it wouldn't last for more than a couple of episodes. I'm glad it found a fanbase.

      ReplyDelete
    48. I´m not saying they didn´t win fair and square (ok, I suppose it looked like so when I mentioned PCA, but I know in here only one vote/person counts)! Like I said, the show has a very devoted fanbase, kudos to all of them for showing their support...but one of the things that draws me to a show is the acting, and for me these 2 actors are really bad, sorry:(

      ReplyDelete
    49. I don't think I'll sound full of myself when I say I'm not surprised by almost any of the winners...

Congratulations to those whose shows & actors won, anyway.

      ReplyDelete
    50. True. The funny thing though is that these types of "cult" shows, with a small but dedicated following, are usually critical darlings (Firefly, Veronica Mars, Fringe and Nikita are good examples). BatB... not so much.

      ReplyDelete
    51. I'm not saying this in reference to BatB specifically, but we do have to remember that the same person can create multiple accounts. Some voting systems can recognize the IP, which does make things much better, but people can still vote from multiple computers and such.

      ReplyDelete
    52. It makes me facepalm when actors like Michael Emerson, Damian Lewis, Daniel Gillies and others didn't even make it to the finals in the Best Actor category, and someone like Jay Ryan actually wins it. No offense to BatB or its fans, but it's never been clearer that this is a popularity contest and has zilch to do with the actual quality of the shows and actors.

      ReplyDelete
    53. Not on spoiler contest, one person, one vote. That is why I do enjoy their polls and contest so much, not packed voting. If you try and vote a second time you get the message, Thanks we have already counted your vote.

      ReplyDelete
    54. I watch James Spader and am always blown away by his acting and think to my self, where have you been. Went to imdb to see what he has been on and nothing that I have ever watched. Going to watch for him..super actor. I also voted for it. ;)

      ReplyDelete
    55. I do agree about the acting, very wooden and for me no chemistry.

      ReplyDelete
    56. This was a fun contest and a huge thanks goes out to you Babar and I love the way you had the winners listed.
Now I have to say a congrats to BatB fans, I have always just figured the contests were won by voting over and over, but this one was a REAL win. More Beasties out there than I thought. Just a side note, this last ep of Beauty I thought was the best they have had..just got around to watching it Sunday.

      ReplyDelete
    57. I wonder where, though.....not in my country, for sure.

      ReplyDelete
    58. White Collar won over Game of Thrones? Not that I am complaining, it was my vote, but I am honestly surprised. Considering how much praise GoT gets and how quiet it has become around White Collar recently, I didn't expect that one at all.
Not surprised about BatB because that Fandom is scarily devoted.
The Actor and Actress awards kind of bothers me. I get that sometimes fanfavs win when it comes to a show, but this award should be about the performance on screen and not the show. And the worst thing about BatB is easily the acting (followed by the overall fake feeling of the show).

      ReplyDelete
    59. I admit, I share the sentiment. When I saw the list of actors and actresses I opted not to vote at all.

      ReplyDelete
    60. I'm 100% with you in this. It's not wrong at all to vote for your favs actor/actress but we have to think, do they deserved that? There's a lot more actor/actress that gave very impressive and good performance on screen that we, as viewers need to recognise them.

      ReplyDelete
    61. I did try. This show had the worst pilot I have ever seen and that is saying something.

      ReplyDelete
    62. I wish TV critics gave awards. As it is, you have stuff like the Emmy's and Golden Globes that only recognize "respectable" shows (90% of them being on cable), or online polls that only measure popularity within a certain circle.

      ReplyDelete
    63. They do, The Critics' Choice Awards.

      ReplyDelete
    64. I share this sentiment 150%. Next years polls and awards will be much better without it.

      ReplyDelete
    65. Watched the first 6 episodes to give it a fair try and barely sat through it. One of the worst shows I have ever sampled.

      ReplyDelete
    66. i'm not gonna lie, seeing The Blacklist so far down on many of the lists, especially James Spader being second to last in the best drama actor category, broke my heart a little:( That being said it was nice seeing The Mentalist in the top three was a nice surprise. With how the show is criticized so much now, it's nice seeing a lot of folks still enjoy it as much as me:)

      ReplyDelete
    67. me too...kinda depressing huh?

      ReplyDelete
    68. Well, it doesn't really surprise me because the shows with the most fans on SpoilerTV won (Castle and Beauty and the Beast, for example). But yes, it's kinda sad to have BrBa taking 3rd place on cable drama.

      ReplyDelete
    69. Love Jay Ryan, amazing actor and humble guy. I am not trying to annoy you here but seriously who is Michael Emerson, Damien Lewis or Danny Gilies?

      ReplyDelete
    70. My goodness the Beasts are having a huge effect on you! But really and seriously is the show bothering you that much? That is sad to be that caught up in the demise of a show. I hope you find a show that you like so you can vote in next polls but do not be surprised if Jay is still around:-) and KK .

      ReplyDelete
    71. Its not the show that bothers me at all. I watch plenty of quality programming. Its the fans. And no, Jay and KK will be unemployed in May, count on it.

      ReplyDelete
    72. Jay Ryan? Awful actor! If he is an humble guy or not it´s not the point!
Michael Emerson? Person of Interest (great show and great acting)!
Damien Lewis? Homeland (great acting)! Haven´t seen enough of the show to have an honest opinion.
Danny Giles? This one I don´t know:(

      ReplyDelete
    73. PollDaddy allows only one vote per IP address. There are 4 computers in my house but I can only vote from one of them. If I try to vote from another it says, "Thanks, your vote has already been counted." It doesn't matter if I create separate accounts or not, it is one vote per IP, not per account or per computer.

      ReplyDelete
    74. Believe me, I'm not defending the acting. Kristin Kreuk is the #1 reason why I cannot watch BatB. She is one of my least favorite actresses of all. I'm only defending the poll results.

      ReplyDelete
    75. Thanks,Babar very efficient and smooth poll you ran, I especially liked the winners were under wrap, congrats to Castle and of course to the Beasties only one vote per person job well done, Thank spoilerTv you do make the Beastie fandom feel worthy!!!!

      ReplyDelete
    76. We need a bigger fan base for Person of Interest and the Blacklist.

      ReplyDelete
    77. Daniel Gillies is Elijah from the Originals :)

      ReplyDelete
    78. I'm going to jump in and say that yes, BatB's schedule does look like summer burn-off. If the ratings don't improve significantly, it would be shocking if BatB were renewed - PCA winner or not. Now the CW has shocked before, especially with Nikita, but the best chance BatB has at renewal would be a surprise summer 2015 bid or if a CBS pilot/Reign doesn't make it on the schedule next year. I don't see either happening, not even the show becoming Friday spackle. Still if any network is going to go against expectations, it will be the CW.

      ReplyDelete
    79. Sorry. No poll will help a show get renewed. SpoilerTV is growing every month, but the highest voted poll BatB won only had slightly over 7,000 voters. That is excellent for a website poll, but just one rain drop in an ocean of TV viewers. Considering also that not all of those votes would have been for BatB, and you've got a number so insignificant to TV networks that polls aren't worth considering for them. They need US eyeballs watching US ads to make a show profitable.

      ReplyDelete
    80. With all due respect in this day and time hating on fans of a show are not how can you be so nonchalant about someone's employment, five will get you ten despicte your attitude I'm sure they will survive BATB or not!!! I'm sure they will show up again on a tv screen near you!!

      ReplyDelete
    81. Sherlock airs in 180 regions...25 countries is really not worth talking about. I really don't get how a comparable small fan-base can be so...loud.

      ReplyDelete
    82. I don't get it either. I just thank the Gods it will be silenced in May.

      ReplyDelete
    83. Oh, now the show doesn't bother you?? You wrote that "BATB first show in YOUR life you can not wait to see the demise of" Also looks like you get a little enjoyment saying JR and KK will be employed in May, and your counting on it! So now it's the demise of JR and KK. For someone who watch quality shows you don't seem to have any self quality wishing demise and unemployment on others..lol JR and KK may, or may not be unemployed in the near future but I doubt they will have any problem getting another acting job:-)

      ReplyDelete
    84. So happy that Beauty and the Beast AGAIN was rewarded by the fans. The show is fantastic and the actors are sooooooo good. Their chemistry is awesome!

      ReplyDelete
    85. The demise of the show will make the fans (the one's who annoy me anyway) go away. Thus the show going away gets me what I want. Reading comprehension, give it a try.

      ReplyDelete
    86. Right, thanks Dahne, I have read somewhere before that the CW Network is not as predictable as other networks where ratings and cancelations are concerned. The only reason I came to CW was because of BATB. I tried to get into HOD but I lost interest beginning of season 2. It would be great to see all the shows succeed and be enjoyed by their fans. We are lucky to have a great selection of shows to choose from. I think BATB show and fans have been cyber bullied and totally unnecessary and ridiculous because at end of the day we the fans have as much right to vote and watch the show as they do to watch theirs. It should make no difference to them if the show win awards or not because no one is making them watch the show or vote for it.

      ReplyDelete
    87. Thank you. Finally some nice words.
We are maybe a little bit crazy but we try to get attention for our show, because we understand not everybody is likeing it and this is totally fine. But I don't get why everybody needs to hate on it. I dislike Reign but I understand that many people like it so I am happy for them, that it looks a lot better in the ratings then BB

      ReplyDelete
    88. Oh, no one, really. I mean, if an actor doesn't have a six-pack they reveal five times an episode by going shirtless, they're not important obviously.

      ReplyDelete
    89. In that case it is definitely a fair voting system (or as fair as any online system can be), that should be implemented by more sites. Good to know.

      ReplyDelete
    90. I gave it 4 episodes. Couldn't get into it at all.

I still think the very concept of the show is flawed. Isn't the classic Beauty and the Beast story all about how beauty is only skin deep? When Belle falls for the Beast despite his hideous appearance (proving it's genuinely his heart that won her over), he becomes a handsome prince. In this show, the "Beast" has a facial scar but otherwise looks like an A&F model. They CW-ed the hell out of the classic story.

      ReplyDelete
    91. Me too. Honestly though, I just wish the final lists in some of the categories were different. I was really disappointed with the Best Actor list, I'd say one or at most two of the names actually deserved to be there.

      ReplyDelete
    92. Yeah, I know. I was all "Okay...that's the most attractive scar I have ever seen". Not that the Vincent from the original show wasn't somewhat cuddly, but he still looked very much like a monster with his Lion-like features.

      ReplyDelete
    93. I think it is the twilight effect. I have no idea what is so compelling about this kind of badly written romance, but apparently, it seems to speak to a certain group.

      ReplyDelete
    94. Thankfully, Lewis and Emerson have won Emmy's. But over here, they stand no chance against seasoned thespians like Jay Ryan. ;)

      ReplyDelete
    95. I got through about 7 minutes of the pilot and turned it off. It was terrible.

      ReplyDelete
    96. I have no idea if it's true, but I read something about how they were afraid to piss off the Television Parents Council or whatever because if the show had an actual Beast, they might be accused of depicting bestiality. That's rather hilarious.

      ReplyDelete
    97. Agreed. There is a reason shows win real awards in contrast with online polling.

      ReplyDelete
    98. Yeah, wasn't talking about this poll, this is just for fun. On the tv ratings BATB registers as a blip on their scale. Not a good sign for the future.

      ReplyDelete
    99. You need to watch more shows then. The acting is awful.

      ReplyDelete
    100. I sincerely hope you get what you want but not the cancelation of BATB as
that would be the demise of me and my terrible comprehension.
Hey guess what show is on later this evening? Yes, BATB. Would love to hear your expert opinion on the quality of the episode. Give that a try.

      ReplyDelete
    101. Perhaps, but at least they could have picked a more ugly actor and made the scar itself more ugly, too.

      ReplyDelete
    102. Maria, only heard of Homeland and never got into it but I believe it is excellent. Jay Ryan excellent actor and he is a humble guy and being a big fan it does mean something to me. Enjoy your shows.

      ReplyDelete
    103. Oh, I agree with that, make no mistake. They should have picked someone who didn't look like a model (but on The CW I guess that's not an option, huh?), and used makeup and/or prosthetics to make him look human, but beastly and deformed.

I once saw a suggestion that they could've pulled a twist on the original story by having the woman be the Beast and the man the one who falls in love with her in spite of her looks. That could've been quite interesting, given that the story as is seems to reflect the social convention where women are willing to settle for nice guys who aren't the most attractive, while men care first and furthermost about looks.

      ReplyDelete
    104. True - I also liked the original angle of the original show, which emphasised on how Catherine and Vincent were both trapped because they both good judged by their looks.
But then, it is CW. I rarely can get into the shows, because everyone and everything looks so unnatural. The exception is Arrow, because, being a comic adaptation, there the style actually works to the advantage of the show.

      ReplyDelete
    105. I'm not a BATB fan by any stretch of the imagination but to be fair, the category is FAVORITE Actor and not BEST...

      ReplyDelete
    106. I wish that they'd have separate categories for network and cable like in this poll. There is no way that a network show can even hold a candle to a cable show and it's almost like comparing apples to apple pie, they're related but so completely different that they must be judged differently.

      ReplyDelete
    107. Again Beauty and the Beast??? Their fans must really rally up for things like this! Good for them, what ever....

      ReplyDelete
    108. EVERY show of note airs internationally, and most air in more than 25 countries.

      ReplyDelete
    109. Correct. It also blocks cookies. So even if you try to take your laptop to 20 different starbucks, to use their wi-fi, you still can only vote once.
I have more respect for the SpoilerTV awards than I do the PCAs for that reason, and the fact they show the final results.
I truly believe the PCAs have back door deals made for some winners since they never show the results and some of the wins are so against the landscape of public opinion on social media..

      ReplyDelete
    110. Sites opt to go for the traffic spike as opposed to an accurate result.
Thus why the PCAs & TV.Com have unlimited voting. They want you refreshing the page & voting again repeatedly for ad revenue.
I applaud STV for taking the 1 vote only approach. They would rather have a more fair/accurate result than a few extra site statistics.

      ReplyDelete
    111. Yes. When we have Bryan Cranston, Martin Sheen, Steve Buscemi, Jeff Daniels, Jon Hamm, etc. and end up with the guy from Beauty and the Beast, it's depressing.

      Good effort, congratulations.

But so predictable results: Castle, Castle, BATB, The Mentalist, The Mentalist, BATB.

Two of them low rated show topping everyone, "Ratings are a lie", a common sense observer would've said.

      ReplyDelete
    122. true but Supernatural and Caste are 10,000x better than BATB

      ReplyDelete
    123. You can't really win with online polls! If BATB gets canceled something else will take its place as a show that has a vocal online minority that obsesses with voting on various online polls!

      ReplyDelete
    124. AngelaRobinson9021 January 2014 at 13:34

But that's your opinion of it. Just sayin, why pick on BATB when castle wins every other poll..

      ReplyDelete
    125. That's kind of funny that people are sacking the guy from BatB and using this guy from The Originals as a gold standard for acting. I have seen 3 episodes of each show and I would say they are both comparable in acting talent. Not sure how Elijah was ever put in a list with Michael Emerson. I think show fandom tends to put blinders on.

      ReplyDelete
    126. The guy from The Originals has a lot of work to do as well as Jay Ryan. I think your affinity for TVD/The Originals is blinding you as much as you are accusing BatB fans. In no way does he deserve to be on a list with Michael Emerson if we are attempting to be impartial about acting talent.

      ReplyDelete
    127. The only show I am actively looking forward to its demise is Dracula, but I can easily ignore it. I can even be happy for its fans if it does get renewed.

      ReplyDelete
    128. It's comments like these that make we want to rally with Beasties, even if I don't share their opinion. So they win a lot of polls. Castle stormed ALL polls before them. Supernatural before that and LOST before them. It's cyclical. Quite frankly I am glad BatB is winning some polls because it was always Castle before. I didn't wish for the demise of Castle, but it was nice to see someone beating them. And I even watched Castle, unlike BatB.

      ReplyDelete
    129. Seriously? This sounds like a lot of sour grapes. When I first came to SpoilerTV, the Supernatural fandom had not quite descended on it. I spent months combating critics who dissed on Supernatural as a silly teen girl show of no substance. I was insulted and quite frankly harrassed by some of those same people who wanted to start something on my Twitter account and elsewhere. It was always the same about how my opinion was wrong and their show was vastly superior to SPN. Then more and more Supernatural fans started coming to STV and we started winning all the polls. Then we got this same flack. People were upset because we were always winning (some people still are by the way) and they continue to say how SPN isn't as good as show XYZ and doesn't deserve to win. I am sure there are many people who wish for SPN's demise too. If you truly are a SPN fan, then you ought to have some sympathy for the Beasties because they are getting the exact same treatment that Supernatural fans used to, and sometimes still do. Everyone is entitled to love their show. Everyone is entitled to vote and spread the word. These are just silly internet polls but it feels like people are taking them far too seriously. It feels like Beasties are getting cyberbullied on STV now and that is not fair.

      ReplyDelete
    130. Thank you. I am not sure why BatB fans are getting so much hostility when Castle basically gets a pass for doing the same thing - trouncing polls. I can't figure out if those most hostile to BatB are Castle fans or not, but if they are then that's pathetic. Castle will continue to win polls. Castle will continue to be renewed. BatB fans are fighting for their show's survival in the only way they know how. Will winning polls get BatB renewed? No, but there's nothing more unsettling and frustrating than being a fan who can do nothing. Voting in polls is a way to show your love for a show and I admire any fandom that fights for its show's existence this well and passionately.

      ReplyDelete
    131. Very good point. Online fandom is cyclical just like most things. Winning fandoms come and go. The next fandom to win all sorts of polls will likely be another CW show whose fans are fighting for it to be renewed as well. No one fights harder than a fandom whose show is in jeopardy.

      ReplyDelete
    132. I would like to apologize for the way some people here have been treating BatB fans lately. I agree that it is getting to the point that it feels like bullying and that is not fair at all. I know what it's like to go against popular opinion and I want to encourage you to keep going even in the face of other people's hostility. There is nothing wrong with loving your show and wanting it to do well. I am impressed by how well you guys are organized and massive kudos for being able to get the word out so well. I wish you luck.

      ReplyDelete
    133. Is this really necessary? Why not just congratulate them and move on? Or just move on. They are fighting to keep their show on the air and everyone has different opinions. Flag on this play.

      ReplyDelete
    134. I know I shouldn't rag on the BatB fans, but I have had bad experience with the fandom in the past. When the first season came, I watched the first 6 episodes to give it a fair try. after that I was in a disussion about the show on another site and was asked if I loved the show yet. I said no, it wasn't my cup of tea. The vitriolic comments that were hurled at me were truly pathetic. So I guess it was that experience that ended up coloring the entire fandom in my eyes.

But I know a few bad ones are not representative of the whole, and I shouldn't let that alter my view of all Beasties, so I apologize to any Beasties I may have offended. Fight the good fight while you can.

      ReplyDelete
    135. Completly agree with you! It is truly great that you do what do and that you keep doing it! :)
...i just wanted you to hear a thank you from someone (me :D) who is not a BatB fan as well but wishes every Beastie good luck for another season.

      ReplyDelete
    136. I am so sorry that happened to you. No one should have to put up with harrassment for their opinion, pro or con. Sadly sometimes the most vocal fans in any fandom are the ones that most need to shut up. I sincerely hope you never experience that again. I think this is why I prefer SpoilerTV to all others. So many sites are just plain vicious that it is nice to have a refuge.

      ReplyDelete
    137. Thanks for the kind words. That is the main reason I come to this site, it is much more civilized than many out there. so from now on I will not be negative about the Batb fandom. I will put the past behind me, give them my respect and not use negativity to turn this site into those others I hate.

Your a great lady Dahne, thanks for putting things into perspective for me :)

      ReplyDelete
    138. Are you talking about Reign? The thing is, Reign is actually a good, quality show which is severely underrated because its on the CW. The fans have noticed that too, that is why they are trying to promote it.

      ReplyDelete
    139. I noticed that any CW show that is not VD, Arrow, SPN or TO gets bullied, sad. People should give the others a go before they criticize.

      ReplyDelete
    140. So glad Reign won.But I really wasn't suprised because it's really the best in my opinion and apparently alot of other people's opinions too(500+ votes) I'm pretty confident it'll have another season and alot of other seasons to come.

      ReplyDelete
    141. Yeah, I'm awfully picky with my low quality shows and BatB never made the cut, but it's kinda weird how many fans out there like to judge the fact that you don't watch or don't like their show. Guys, as long as I'm not hating on you, there's no reason to be rude. And if I'm hating with a motive, sorry, you have to learn how to take it, every fandom has (except BrBa because, well, what exactly would you criticize...)

      ReplyDelete
    142. Thanks for that. The only thing you could criticize with BrBa is that is was TOO mindblowingly awesome each week.

      ReplyDelete
    143. Breaking Bad isn't for everyone either. And no, they do not have to "learn how to take it." I agree 100% that you can judge a show you've seen and openly discuss what you don't like about it. That's an important part of being a fan, more so than simply yelling accolades and saying everything is great. This is especially true when you are on a show-specific thread where people are expected to analyze episodes and actively discuss them. Not so much on a "congratulations, you won" thread. I also 100% agree that no one has a right to hate on you if you don't like their show. If people have done that one other sites, I am very sorry. The internet can be an ugly place. If they have done that here, then I apologize because that should not happen.
However putting people down because they like a show, mocking what people vote for, accusing people of mass voting/cheating, personal insults, and trashing someone else's opinions because their show wins a lot is bullying plain and simple. People have been trashing BatB fans left and right these last few weeks, and even though I am not a BatB fan, I am sick of it. No one needs to accept bullying and while things are still relatively mild here on SpoilerTV compared to the rest of the internet, this site is a haven, a sanctuary from abuse, for a lot of people. To start a group mindset that it is okay to pick on BatB fans is not what SpoilerTV is about. If people want to do that, there are plenty of other sites out there for them to do so. Go there.

      ReplyDelete
    144. All CW shows have to live down the reputation of the CW as a whole. I hope there will come a time when people will not autmatically assume a show is bad simply because it is one the CW. Trust me, TVD and Supernatural have had their fair share of mocking as well. Just wait until they are in the Best Show contest this summer.

      ReplyDelete
    145. Yeah, I agree 100%. What I meant by "hate with a motive" is actually discussing a show and pointing its failures (guess it would be what you called a topic specific discussion). It's absolutely ridiculous and unjustified to pick on a show/fan just because they win things. It's like, I don't know, hating on Meryl Streep 'cause she won too many awards. Just makes no sense whatsoever. I can't even say much about BatB fans specifically, but what I have experienced is people who don't accept when I have criticized something on a show, and they don't accept simply because they like the show. That's what I believe every fandom has to learn to accept: people who are not willing to sit quietly and be ok with everything the writers do.

      ReplyDelete
    146. Hey B&B fans no fair stuffing the ballot box.

      ReplyDelete
    147. Yes Reign needs to continue for many seasons to come, apparently i fear the CW may soon disregard female skewing shows altogether because let's face it, VD is the only female centric show that is really thriving. That is why i really want Reign to succeed. We need more successful female centric shows on the CW :(

      ReplyDelete
    148. Ah, then we are agreed. I also believe that you need to be open to the pros and cons of a show, even if it is your favorite. To be honest, I think that makes you a much better fan. I've been blasted myself for daring to say something in a show needs work or something new isn't working. My favorite is when someone says I should just not watch the show. (shakes head) If you can't ever say anything negative about a show then you aren't really critiquing it and you certainly cannot have a good discussion if all anyone says is how awesome things are. Discussing the bad and the good and debating them is my favorite thing about TV online and the ONLY reason to be in a fandom to begin with, in my opinion.

      ReplyDelete
    149. Precisely. I think discussing and criticizing makes more sense than accepting everything the writers give us. And it doesn't mean we don't like the show, usually it means the exact opposite, we like it so much we are willing to point out the failures in order to make it better.

      ReplyDelete
    150. Orphan Black! The show is genius and needs more recognition!

      ReplyDelete
    151. The only one of my picks that made it was Reign. Not very good odds! And really, I do not see the allure in Zooey Deschanel. This from a person who watched all of New Girl.....but it has to go...and she is NOT a great actress.

      ReplyDelete
    152. Watched the entire first season (I think TVD was the lead in??) and even a few of season 2. It was always awful to me. Once it was moved to another night I forgot about it. I am always shocked on here at the fan base. I feel the fans are more attached to the community they created than the show itself.

      ReplyDelete
    153. Very true. People are most vocal when it comes time to stand up for their show. I was pretty annoying when The Lying Game was on the line!

      ReplyDelete
    154. Maybe 'cause she is cute and funny and looks like Katy Perry? Really, it's sometimes impossible to understand the reasoning behind people's likes and dislikes. But in her case, I think it has much to do with the fact that she is adorable. Not a great actress, no, but adorable nonetheless. But, hey, Amy got second place, not bad. Neither Louis-Dreyfus nor the queen of the ball, the all-time diva Tina Fey are there, but then again 30 Rock hasn't been on for a while and Veep doesn't have that many fans. Still, no party like a Lemon party.

      ReplyDelete
    155. No offence to Vampire Diarie fans but I'm seriously tired of that show I gave up on it last season. It just doesn't seem that interesting anymore and may be they just have new writers for the show or something but it just doesn't seem like the show I fell in love with.Man I'm so into Reign this show is incredible,so good!!!! From the actors, writers, setting.Just love Reign!!! They better give it another season and another one after and another one after that :) You get what I'm saying just keep this show going.

      ReplyDelete
    156. I guess for two reasons: One, Castle is, even if you are not really into it, a decent show. And Two, the Castle and Supernatural fans always take over the polls, and so do some other successful shows, but the BatB fans also have the habit of promoting their show whenever possible in quite an over-the-top way. Which is understandable, but also really annoying. With a Castle or Supernatural fan I usually get the "it is a great show, you have no idea what you are missing" vibe which doesn't bother me because I feel the same way about the shows I love to watch. With the BatB fans I get "How dare you not to watch out show" often mixed with a "try it! Try it now!". Well, I did try right when it aired, I think the show is awful, deserves the low rating it got, and if it gets renewed nevertheless, all power to the fans, but can you please stop pestering me about this?

      ReplyDelete
    157. Yeah, I still think it's a summer burn-off.

    159. ReplyDelete
    161. trust me, we know that. BB get a lot of idiots who hate on it and I never can understand why. Everybody likes different thinks! That is fine, so I am not bashing on somebody who likes thinks I don't like! It is so stupid and this people just have no life, because they use all there time for hurting random people, they don't even know to feel better in their sorry life. So don't care for them and love your show with the rest of the fandom. This is what Beasties do. We help each other ^^

      ReplyDelete
    162. Ah so sweet of you D but you have no need to apologies as you have been a total gentleman:-) Everyone should be able to give their opinion and agree or disagree but with respect for everyone's opinion. It's totally fine not to like a show or give feedback but respectfully as no need for all the nasty stuff or getting personal with peoples reviews. Personally I will always stand up to those who do that because it's so cowardly behind a fake name and computer and they probably need to get a new hobby:-)
It will be sad to see BATB get cancelled but it had a good run and to be fair to CW they gave it a good run.

    170. In SpoilerTV contests, you can only vote once so it isn't like one person voted multiple times to win. They won fair and square and this just sounds like sour grapes. By the way, I have only seen 3 episodes of Beauty and the Beast and did not like it, so I am not a beastie.
