Who are the Most Passionate TV/Movie Fandoms?

197 comments:

  1. Truly some of the names for the fanbases are hilarious though some are pretty clever like Clone Club and Browncoats.

Firefly - they did manage to get a movie out of cancelled show, not even a made for TV movie but a fully fledged cinematic release - pretty damn passionate.

Trek and Who fans - For their continual devotion after 50 years.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Beasties are one of the most passionate fandoms I ever seen on the internet; I don't watch the show, but their pressence is obvious.
Cortexifans were really passionate when Fringe aired and still are, but they are waiting for something to happen (a.k.a movie) to once again show their teth, but they keep voting in every single online competition and many times they come on top.
Revenger is a fandom that is slowly finding its way to support the show; pretty quiet during last season they are now finding a voice to support the show, so they are not all that passionate yet, but they are getting there

  3. Based on what I've seen, Castle, Supernatural, BatB, Fringe, Veronica Mars (they patronized a friggin' movie!)and , Firefly (same although not literally) all have loyal and dedicated fandoms. Of course, the size of the fandom and its dedication aren't the same. OUaT for example has a far bigger fandom than BatB, but the latter's fans are much more organized and wont to rally. (It's only natural that fans of shows struggling to survive would be especially active and vocal, I guess.)

    ReplyDelete
  4. While I don't like the show, BatB have one of the most organized and loud voices online. SPN, Castle, Firefly and Who fans are the other big ones that come to mind.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm...

    SPNFamily

    Buffistas

    Potterheads

    Marshmallows

    TVD Family

Upper East Siders - Gossip Girl

    Desperate Fans - Desperate Housewives

Little Liars - Pretty Little Liars.

  6. Supernatural was the first thing that came to mind. Its fandom is legendary. BatB fans remind me an awful lot of SPN fans and they have passion to spare, plus are incredibly organized. Nothing like a show on the edge to inspire fans to rally hard. Meanwhile Veronica Mars fans put their money where their mouth is and that's powerful. Cannot wait for the movie to come out. Harry Potter fans rule the movie crowd and for good reason. Their fans have been so successful they have a musical. And the Gleeks, while not my favorite show, still have to get credit for their once powerful voting block too.

Have to admit that while I have been a fan of Buffy since the beginning, I have never heard the term Buffistas. I think it is because Buffy along with X-Files where fandoms before every fandom had to have its own name, well except Trekkies. Going purely by Twitter, I would say that if the hiatus doesn't kill it, Sleepy Hollow is up and coming in the fandom world. Can't wait until that trend follows to SpoilerTV.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It depends. On the internet, I think Beauty and the Beast is strong. Supernatural is huge on SpoilerTV and Castle is huge in the US. But worldwide, I'd say Potterheads are the most present. Probably because they're spread all over the place and reach a very wide range of people. And it's undoubtedly one of the most successful franchises ever.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I´m SPN family, Potterheads, losties. i think than also sherlockians and castillions.and of course a fandom whom I admire very badly is BatB.they are respected each other.i hope they win.

    ReplyDelete
  9. tvd family does not exist, it is the most disrespectful fandom of the world only have to go to twitter to see it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Jéssica Silveira Gandara21 January 2014 at 13:54

Do you know what you have done?! LOL Battle of the fandoms... For me the Supernatural and Teen Wolf (even though it's not in the pool) fans take the cake as the most passionate fans out there - and I'm not saying that's a particularly good thing.
Doctor Who and Trekkies are the most loyal, without a doubt.
Hannibal is a relatively new fandom, it's nice to see the large fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  11. POTTERHEADS. I realize this is a TV site, but COME ON.

    ReplyDelete
  12. This is a LITERAL "no brainer". THREE People's Choice Awards and 95% of the polls we participate in go to #Beasties for #BeautyAndTheBeast (#BatB)

    ReplyDelete
  13. If by "passionate", you mean "overbearing", then it's a no-brainer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh, it's the Beasties such a passionet well organized fandom, who truly loves BATB

    ReplyDelete
  15. Beasties love #Beauty and her Beast. We eat, sleep and drink #BATB. The episodes are fantastic and we hope to see #BATB on the @CW_network in Season 3. This show is so deserving of being picked up again for another fantastic mytstical beast journey of excitement, mystery, crime drama and above all an epic love story of destiny for two people who are meant to be.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Curb your Enthusiasm fandom, hands down!

We like to be called "the bald assholes" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQCVf7AnXNY )

    ReplyDelete
  17. sixseasonsandamovie21 January 2014 at 14:26

I like fans that stand for a show that despite being love by the critics, does not perform well on ratings, like VMars, Arrested Development or Firefly.

But over-the-top fans annoy me, like Beasties and Gleeks (fortunately we haven't seen the second ones anymore since even the fans can't stand Glee anymore).

    ReplyDelete
  18. Not all fans are like that, most are too childish but I think this is normal for a teen show like Teen Wolf, Pretty Little Liars and others.

    ReplyDelete
  19. AngelaRobinson9021 January 2014 at 15:18

Veronica Mars - but of a difference between voting in a handful of meaningless online polls than collectively making 5 million dollars for a movie to be made SIX years after the show ended.

    ReplyDelete
  20. #Leverage fans.. us #Grifters love our show!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I actually think the Beasties might be the most passionate TV fandom. There are not many of them, but damn they make their presence felt whenever they have the chance. (However please stop trying to recruit me. I don't care how good you think the writing has gotten, it's just not my kind of show).

    ReplyDelete
  22. Beasties all the way!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Beasties are the most passionate. We love our show and support it to no end. But what I really love about this FANDOM is that they never put down any other fandom or show. We know how passionate fans are in their support and have nothing but RESPECT for that!
That being said I know that we ROAR and fight for show and that will never change BEASTIES FANmily FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  24. What kind of question is this?! LoL! Do you want to start a fandoms war?!
Well in my opinion the most passionate fandom is Firefly's Browncoats obviously. After their show get cancelled they manage to get a movie and then 12 years after they still create events, trying to convince Joss Whedon himself, Nathan & all the cast to do it again!
Then VM Marshmallows are so dedicate & generous that they gave 5 millions to Rob Thomas to do a movie that no network wanted!
Finally in my top 5 the SPNF, Beasties and Castle fans are so passionate, organized & competitive (and numerous here) that they always win all the polls at SpoilerTV!
These are for me the most passionate fans today.
Although my favorite will always be Losties (and Community, X-Files fans, Oncers).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Since when were Buffy fans called "buffistas"? I know fandoms weren't really around back then, but I was under the impression we have been labeled as "Scoobies".

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd have to say Supernatural is the winner. They were even more vocal than the Losties, back in the day. Buffy fans (also am seeing "Buffistas" for the first time) have been passionate for a long time. Beasties are currently active, but will they stand the test of time?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Leverage...Proud to be a "Grifter" :-) Ugh, I miss my show.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Star Trek probably, its been going for years and across different generations.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I feel like that comment is REALLY baiting me to say something in the vein of, "Yeah, 'no-brainer' in the sense that fans who obsessively use hashtags off Twitter/Facebook have no b- "

    Ahem. Shutting up now.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Shows that im very passionate about are : Lost, Game of Thrones, Scandal, Sherlock, Newsroom, Person of Interest, Castle, TBBT
Shows that I love, but im not crazy passionate about: OUAT, Revenge, TVD, Greys Anatomy, HIMYM, Suits, White Collar..and im almost getting reaching there for Grimm, Orphan Black, Sleepy Hollow, Blacklist.

I don't watch BATB, Supernatural, Arrow or Doctor Who but their fandom is def very vocal, persistent and passionate. Same for shows like Buffy, Fringe, Firefly which I havent seen but clearly the fan base is very large!

    ReplyDelete
  31. beasties are the most passionate

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm an 100% Oncer but every time I see a poll with Beauty and The Beast in it, this show wins every single time -_- Congrats to this amazing fandom!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hope Veronica Mars moves up a bit more, what other fandom throws their own money in to support a movie in order to get a little more of their favourite show?

I have to say Castle is my favourite fandom to belong to, they are passionate about the show and cast but as far as I'm aware are never rude (I personally haven't come across any rude fans yet)

    ReplyDelete
  34. WOULDN'T BUFFY FANS BE SCOOBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Caps are intentional because I am PASSIONATE!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Guess who thumbed down all fandoms? The Beliebers.

    ReplyDelete
  36. SCOOBIES FOR THE WIN! I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Supernatural and Star Wars for me, I'm not in any other fandoms listed here. But "warsies"? I could never call myself a "warsie", I'm just a Star Wars fan.

    ReplyDelete
  38. TV shows: Supernatural (SPNFamily), Doctor Who (Whovians), Sherlock (Sherlockians); Firefly (Browncoats) and looks like Hannibal fans growing fast; also Star Trek fans, Fringe (Cortexifans).
Movies: Star Wars, Harry Potter (Potterheads) and The Lord of the Rings fans.

    ReplyDelete
  39. X-Files fans had their own name, we were called 'X-philes' in the late 90's. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Absolutely Beasties!!! we lav n gonna raor always for our #BatB!! <3

    ReplyDelete
  41. Despoina Lampridou21 January 2014 at 17:28

Beasties -- Beauty and the Beast ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes, you are right. I was in that fandom, in fact it was my first real glimpse of hardcore fandom, so I don't know how I forgot that.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It was a real trip down the memory lane to read The X-Files fanlore page! Here's a link if you want to take a look: http://fanlore.org/wiki/The_X-Files :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I keep trying to add Bones (Squinterns) but it won't let me. Can someone help on this!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Castle, Supernatural, Beauty and the Beast, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Star Trek and Fringe fans.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Supernatural Family (Hunters) All the way!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks so much! Just glimpsing at it, I know it will be packed full of memories. I'm using it as a reward for when I finish my recap. X-Files is the first time I heard of the term fanfiction and it remains some of the best fanfiction I have read to date. In the 90's, I even printed some of it out. One fills an entire binder and I still sometimes read it today. Lots of very talented and intelligent people were in the X-Files fandom, one of the best I've ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Looks like Beasties thumbed down all other fandoms.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You are too young to know the Trekkers (NOT Trekkies-augh!), and Star Wars fandom--they are the ones who really started the whole convention movement, they and the comic book fans, so the Beasties are nothing compared to that! When the "Beasties" have their own convention series, then I'll take them seriously.

I saw the original Star Wars over 100 times, and I was a Star Trek fan from the first season they aired. When you consider that the original Star Trek only aired 3 seasons, but their passion ignited 4 highly successful offshoot series, and I've lost track of how many movies (is it 9 now?), that is the ultimate fandom!

    ReplyDelete
  50. That is a nonsensical accusation since BatB has the most downvotes of them all. The simple fact is that almost all Ranker polls on SpoilerTV have more downvotes than upvotes. It's the nature of the internet. This comment seems more about causing bad will among fandoms than anything. And no, I do not watch BatB.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Teen Wolf has been added if you want to rank it. I agree that it has a passionate fandom. Every Monday night my Tweetdeck for Teen Wolf goes nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  52. For me personally, I think the Whovians. I mean, what other sci fi shows can you say have been going on for 50 years? Nearly everyone has heard of it in the UK (I dare you to find me someone in Britain who doesn't know what it is) and the fandom are literally so expressive. And the word Whovian is in the Oxford English Dictionary itself!

    ReplyDelete
  53. You aren't helping your case here and are probably actually hurting it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love how inspired Veronica Mars fans still are. It's a new trend in fandom and shows just how powerful it can be. So much more effective then sending things to the studio/network like previous fan campaigns.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Man do I miss Leverage. I anxiously await a Kickstarter campaign to make a Leverage movie. I am all in for that.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank you! I tried 3 times and it wouldn't take.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Now, that's funny, lol!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Fannibals, for sure. They're relatively green, but so collectively talented and hilarious, and Bryan Fuller simply adores them!

    ReplyDelete
  59. They should take the down vote, not ok with that. But seriously Beasties are ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think the poll is in reference to newest fandoms, my head down to the Star Trek and Star wars fandoms, but they are not current anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's between the Supernatural, the Sherlock and the Doctor Who fandom.

    ReplyDelete
  62. aww thanks as everyone is saying is not about the quality of the show but mostly because we know its not the best show out there but we want it to keep going as long as we can, nothing more passionate to rally for an underdog.

    ReplyDelete
  63. LOL we promise we wont recruit you anymore. Its just in our DNA since day 1 to recruit beasties. But we got it now, we will just keep winning polls :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Supernatural, Sherlock , Doctor who and Castle fans are very passionate about their shows

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you guys! We do as much as we can, not the best show out there to some but so loved by all the beasties.

    ReplyDelete
  66. This is weird, I voted then come back a hour later to check the list and suddenly something I didn't vote for is now voted for and some votes have changed? Anyone else this happend too?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Because having some many dedicated fans with less than 1M viewers each week.. it's just... amazing, I should really watch this show!

    ReplyDelete
  68. This thing is seriously hacked or something, now all things are downvoted except for BATB :S

    ReplyDelete
  69. The thing with the first three shows that you mentioned, they are standing the test of time and have become huge cult hits. The other two will never stand the test of time and be forgotten as soon as they are off of our TV screens.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The problem with BATB is that Nielsen households here in the USA are not watching the show, but its so odd the popularity of the show online everywhere, some say its because of the International Fans. And you should watch the show, it worked for me. Before BATB I used to be a Oncer on its first season, and second season got kind of boring so I switched to BATB and loved it Im stuck there since then but I have picked up OUAT on its third season too, Ive been watching specially after Emma and Hook kind of hooked up LOL, also, I didnt like Mr. Gold and Belle, BATB on OUAT.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Never heard of "Buffistas" either. Meanwhile I do remember talking about Buffy & her Scooby gang about the cast but also about her fans during the last season - when SM Gellar was filming Scooby Doo.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Some people just downvote everything they don't watch for some reason, instead of just upvoting what you do as it was intended. Such is life.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The thing is these are not my votes I am seeing? Is that normal, cause I upvoted a lot of shows and barely downvoted any.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ranker can be fickle. Sometimes it takes a while to see your votes counted. Sometimes you can add a show and it will appear and disappear multiple times before it finally adds itself. It's an issue with Ranker I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Very strange thow :S But thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I don't think I'll ever give OUAT up, I was surrounded by Disney movies when I was a child and watching the show makes me feel like I'm back in my childhood, it's only 42 per week, but it's really important to me. And now that it won't come back till March 9th, I'm just... not happy lol.
At first, I didn't watch BATB because of its number of viewers. To me, if a show does well, then that means it's a good show like Scandal, OUAT ( when it would like 9M each episode ), 2 Broke Girls, I mean that's why I started watching those 3 shows.
But now that I've seen the fandom surrounding this show, it means that it's a really good good show!

    ReplyDelete
  77. It is happening to me right now. This is really weird. I'll try to vote again and to check later.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Same here! I checked the list and my votes have magically changed, too. Oo You're both right! It is weird!

    ReplyDelete
  79. The thing now these days, its that there are so many shows out there were to pick and to invest your time, I personally love fairy tale kind of shows LOL if you are ONCER you must like romance too. I cant tell you BATB is like the best show out there, it has its flaws but if you are familiar with the CW you will know that the shows are not the best among networks. But what dragged me to BATB and the passion for the show is the #VinCat love story and the chemistry between the leads, so it keeps us craving for more. And trust me I know about tv, I watch shows from Game of Thrones, Masters of Sex, OUAT, Vikings, TWD, etc. but there is something about BATB that makes me so passionate fighting for this show lol maybe the low ratings and the massive online presence which makes no sense when you compared both LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Maybe not to you, but the most recent Star Trek movie was out in 2013, and the next Star Wars movies are now in production. Once a Star Trek/Star Wars fan, always one!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Erilane Oliveira21 January 2014 at 21:32

    Beasties are the best!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. The best of the Star Trek fan-fiction was published, and some of the books were quite successful. That was my first exposure to fan fiction. I just recently got tuned in to X-Files, actually, so I have not read any of their fan fiction, but I have been enjoying the episodes very much.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I know I downvoted a certain show....came back and it was upvoted. I'm the only person at my office who uses this computer....weird.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ahah, totally agree with you!
Oh, I thought that people who watch GoT, TWD etcetera didn't watch shows such as TVD, BATB,... I mean it's a completely different atmosphere!
I like romance, but I do prefer shows that's got action ^^

    ReplyDelete
  85. Jéssica Silveira Gandara21 January 2014 at 22:01

    Oh, thanks!
Is it just me or are there way too many downvotes in this poll? Well, every Spoiler TV poll...

    ReplyDelete
  86. Clearly, the shows that are still on TV benefit from the fact their fans are current. Whether their fans will still be around in these numbers in 10, 20, 30 years is another matter entirely. Do I think people will still turn out in droves to support Castle or Supernatural in 10 years? Not so much. Star Trek, Buffy and Doctor Who are the three biggest fanbases I've seen online, and they've stuck with their shows for years afterwards.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think these people who insist on using so many hashtags (and sometimes posting large images, although I haven't seen much of that lately) give all BatB fans a bad name and are a big part of the reason that fandom takes so much heat. Of course, it's not a justification, because individual annoying fans aren't a reflection of everyone, but these types of vocal minorities often do a lot of damage. I've seen nice and reasonable BatB fans too, but these aren't the ones who stand out...

    ReplyDelete
  88. LOL I like drama so I can have all the combos, drama/action drama/romance drama/fantasy drama/horror LOL full action not my thing tho....and BATB has Drama/Romance/action not teenage stuff like TVD :) Give it a try now that OUAT is on hiatus....Im hooked again, cant wait to see whats gonna happen now with everybody back in Fairyland and Emmas memories gone....but its a long long hiatus for Oncers tho.....

    ReplyDelete
  89. Beasties is really engaged in their show, so is SPN and fandoms like the Trekkies. Im a Beastie but i totally love GOT, Vikings, the new True Detectives and since many years back Star Wars, X-files. So yes, you can still be passionate about BATB and be a huge GOT fan :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. How about True Detectives? Ive been wanting to watch first episode, also I cant wait for Outlander from Starz to air in the summer another one Im waiting for. :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. While I do not think this is the most appropriate way to show enthusiasm because its passion can be interpreted as obnoxious and insulting, I will say that FAR more people dissing on BatB and its fans have been annoying and obnoxious than the BatB fans have been these last few days. It doesn't reflect well on those constantly bullying BatB fans for loving their show either.

    ReplyDelete
  92. That's the way Ranker goes. Sometimes people genuinely do not like an answer but other times the quickest way to get your favorite to rise is to downvote anything above it. Generally the whole thing should be taken with a grain of salt.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Seen the 2 first eps of True Detectives and it's really promising - the dialog is amazing and so is the char. Outlander absolutely seems to be worth checking up when it comes :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. Beasties for life....

    ReplyDelete
  95. Er.. Buffy fans are 'Scoobies', not 'Buffistas,..

I've never even heard that name before?!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Maybe it is because your vote for another show moved the order ranking and before you see the change you already clicked on the next show which could actually be a show that you already had voted on,as the order changed while you were clicking, or something, thats what happened to me a few times. hope u understand what i am saying haha

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wilma Gelderblom22 January 2014 at 02:48

    Beasties ;)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ludmila Junqueira22 January 2014 at 03:27

Beasties ROCK, we are the best fandom ever, the most passionate!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thank you Pablo, we are really passionate ...Try to watch one episode of #BATB and you will be caught by it like all of us! Give it a try ;)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Huh. For a crappy show with poor ratings (even by CW standards), "Beauty and the Beast" has quite an online presence.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I agree with you on Star Trek. If you look at the body of work it has inspired you have to give it to them. The new movies have created a new generation of Trekkers. Though I am a beastie I give a nod to Supernatural fans as well. I have been aware of them for years and they are a tough but classy fandom. Beasties are some of the most devoted and nicest fans I have ever met.

    ReplyDelete
  102. So nice. Great to see fandoms that are sometimes rivals give each other respect. You have to admire a show or movie that inspires its fans to action. This is the most uplifting comments sections I have ever seen. Thanks everyone. I am a beastie fyi.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Sherlock, Harry Potter and BatB. I picked the first one, because there we have "waiting hours for fandom" fans, and the latter because the fans are so loud, despite the fandom itself being so small.
where is "Sherlock Holmes" though? The fandom might be the oldest in the world and still going strong.

    ReplyDelete
  104. And I am still hoping for the spin-off "Leverage international"

    ReplyDelete
  105. I think we Grimmsters are less vocal, but nevertheless ready to support the show at the right places. The relationship between the actors and the fans is closer than in most fandoms, and naturally the Portlanders are totally chuffed about the show featuring their town.

    ReplyDelete
  106. The Beauty and the Beast fans should be ashamed of themselves for downvotting every single fandom, it's ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Despoina Lampridou22 January 2014 at 10:50

thank you for your respect anyway ;) :) it means a lot ... especially since you don't like the show ;)

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yeah thats not whats happening :) I was done voting a hour ago, yet when I returned an hour later not to vote but to check the list, it doesn't show my original votes. They have changed for some reason. Very strange :) But I understand what you mean.

    ReplyDelete
  109. OMG how can you be so sure is the beasties downvotting? LOL, dont generalize because IM a beastie havent downvotting anyone, I for once dont like the downvotting. Also, it really looks so bad when people spew accusations without any facts. SMH!

    ReplyDelete
  110. How do you know that? I certainly didn't do that. We can be blamed of trying to convince people of watching Beauty and the Beast and being a little persistent, but that it. Plus we never fight with other fandoms, we just love our show, with its flaws and everything. Everyone has the right of watching whatever they think it's best so why quarrel over it?

    ReplyDelete
  111. OMG how can you be so sure is the beasties downvotting? LOL, dont generalize because IM a beastie havent downvotting anyone, I for once dont like the downvotting. Also, it really looks so bad when people spew accusations without any facts. SMH! By the way, I love TWD and Andrew Lincoln's picture on your profile cant wait for the show to come back :)

    ReplyDelete
  112. I tried it twice but I couldn't get into it--and I loved the old Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman version from years ago, so I was prepared to like it. Glad to know you folk do.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Beasties ~ Loud n Proud ~ we have to be ~ because CW is crap at promoting our show!

    ReplyDelete
  114. And that town looks so wonderful. I'd love a vacation in Portland.

    ReplyDelete
  115. #BATB fans are the best! very respectful with each other and others shows!

    ReplyDelete
  116. You can't out do the Leverage fans!!!

  117. Oh God, definitely the Supernatural fandom. Craziest fandom I've ever seen, what with the constant shipping wars and arguments over characters and whatnot. They're so passionate, they've driven people away from watching the show due to their terrifying nature. Though their "fan" term isn't SPNFamily, though they're called that affectionately by TPTB. Their main names are "Supernaturalists" and "Hunters".

    ReplyDelete
  118. How is Chuck not higher, it's fandom literally saved the show from cancellation each season after the second.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Out of curiosity...
Which fandom do you believe is the most passionate + dedicated?

--You do not have to be part of that particular fanbase to comment on which you believe has the most spark.--

Bones fans aren't called "Squinterns" … there called "Boneheads" Just so you know!

  125. These rankings are hilarious. Not a single option has a positive vote differential...I guess you could call that MAD (mutually assured destruction).

    ReplyDelete
  126. Add Rookie Blue, they have the most passionate followers, I have ever known.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Several of my friends have voted "thumbs up" on Eureka, but it's not showing? What's up with that??

  130. You mean a fandom with a huge movie that came out a few months ago and several more movies coming because of its size and fervour? And then another fandom with three more movies being released and a tv show that only just ended in 2013?

    ReplyDelete
  131. #batb e solo Beauty and the beast for ever

    ReplyDelete
  132. Wow Harry Potter fandom still goin?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Eureka is showing at #58.

    ReplyDelete
  134. There have been at least 14 of us who voted 'thumbs up'... It's only showing 9. What's going on?

    ReplyDelete
  135. I'm not sure how this particular poll works.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I've been told the "issue" is on my end (and the end of the other people who voted). I realize it's not a significant issue with all that's going on in the world today - but just wondering why not all of our "thumbs up" were showing. It was an excellent show and lots of us want it back. I added a couple shows that were missing - but this is the only one where I could actually count friends who have voted, and they weren't showing up. It doesn't bother me, it just makes me lose faith in polls such as this.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Beasties are worth watching the modern-day version of #BeautyandtheBeast for! Linda Hamilton gave her sign of approval and that was enough for me!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Sherry, I emailed you and said it "MAY" be on your end and gave you contact details of who to speak to about finding out the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Excuse me for misunderstanding. I have sent email to the address you provided, and I thank you for that information. I'm not upset, so please don't think I am. I had spread the word for this poll with such joy and excitement, only to have my friends tell me their votes weren't showing as being counted. It's disheartening, is all. Not upset, not mad, just confused. I'm sure the folks you suggested I email will clarify things. :) Thank you for your help with this matter.

  140. Star Wars and Star Trek fandoms obviously win. We were here first, people. We fought and got sequels, spin off, comics, reboots etc when there was no twitter, or even decent internet to force the creators to give us what we want. Money decide everything and these two franchise bring the big bucks.

    ReplyDelete
  141. No problem. As I said it can take several hours for the votes to be updated.
Hopefully the ranker people will be able to provide you with more information.

  150. I'm all for Xena! The Warrior Princess is the best of the best! :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. You are right, I think it has a lot to do with the ships and amount of possible couples, because ship wars destroy the fandom. I think that's why, for example Castle's fandom is "stronger" than OUaT, because there's only Caskett but there are so many pairings with Emma (for example)

  152. Hi! Can someone tell me when this poll will close? Thanks!

Well, I think it's fate ! lol ! I was watching french Tv and I NEVER DO ! I always watch everything on internet ( HATE french voice overs ) but luckily this episode had english as an option. And for some reason I was mesmerized. I couldn't stop watching. The episode was "Bridesmaid up !"
The next morning I started watching from the pilot. 4 days later, I had watched everything. :D That's how. ;D

  161. Yeah, I think so!! lol

Trending is on Mondays from 6pm to (I think) 10pm EST. Include #BATB in all your tweets to help the hashtag trend. I don't know a lot about it since I joined just for BATB lol, but that's what I do know. :) I'm a Canadian beastie so I watch Sundays and tweet Mondays so I don't spoil anything. 166. Congratulations to add the contestants. While I enjoy polls, I really dont enjoy the thumbs up or down polls, either you vote for a show or you dont. Voting shows down for me is unsportmanship and does not really reflect on the question asked. In future, I will not participate in up or down polls, as I do not agree with poo pooing others shows just to win. By the way I do watch most of the top 5 shows

Look at the votes! I don't get why Beauty and the Beast is at risk of not having a third season! Look at the votes! We roar! Beasties are proving that the show must continue! I'm watching many of the shows, but I'm a huge fan og #BatB, so we fans must convince (actually it's ridicilous that we have , o) everyone else that there must be a third season.

I started watching BATB while writing a school project and every brake was to watch BATB, after a week I had watched 30 episodes. It just draws with you, you're seeking to watch more!

Besides I'm also addicted to other fandoms as: SPN Family, potterheads, Game of Thrones, (Oncers), Arrowheads, Tributes, Warsies, Losties, Trekkers, TVD Family, Squinterns, HIMYM, Revengers, Trubies, Walkers, NCIS:LA, Gossiper, NCIS, Houser, Criminal minds, CSI's etc. Some of them I haven't watched fully yet I love each show very much, but my favorites right now is Supernatural and Beauty and the Beast! But that doesn't mean that I don't love all the others, I really do! And there is not an order in them, I just took the names from the beginning and down! Have faith beasties, they'll hear us!

    ReplyDelete
  169. love #BatB and all beasties want a season 3!!

  170. Brazil too! Amor <3 :)

    ReplyDelete
  171. I think most of the fandoms that are in risk of cancelation become really vocal BATB fandom is very big outside the USA Where people havent given the show a chance, but international fans are roaring louder so who knows maybe we get a S3 after all.

    ReplyDelete
  172. LOL. I wonder how many BATB fans have multiple accounts, created just for the purpose of driving up vote counts on meaningless polls like this...

Is there another show about soulmate in alternate universe/reincarnation/lifetime like Xena? Nope, once in every generation.
