Honestly, when can we have an above "awesome" choice? the writing, the acting, everything is simply getting better and better in this fantastic show. Castle has rung in the 2014 with a bang and it is definetely getting better and better week after week.
if you are talking about last week, it was probably due to the fact that it aired at the same time as a football match I think. but it's still amazing.
Guess you're right, I'm also pointing at the six there who voted as well... Everyone has a right to give his point of view, but come on, we all know it's just haters who i'm sure don't even watch the show :)
One thing is sure: ABC should ban Andrew Marlowe from giving interviews and "teasing" the audience. I have some serious reservations about this episode, but at the same time it was much better than I expected. Thanks to the fact that none of those things which he told previously (and which made me cringe) was in the episode. Spydaddy is flirting with Beckett because he is an a**hole? Enjoys killing people? Tromp over Castle as if he was a kid? Why does he deliberately try to alienate the viewers in advance?
I hope he just overhyped things for the sake of overhype because that would mean he just don't know what to speak. The worse option is that those scenes were in the original script and he thought them funny but for some reason he came to his right sense and cut them from the final version.
Sorry, you were right, it was him. However, those interview was published almost a month ago, and if it was only his completely false interpretation of what happens - why nobody bothered themselves to counter it? Not directly - I get that they probably didn't want to talk against him -, but emphasizing other aspects? Marlowe has pretty ennough direct line to certain permanent reviewers/bloggers to do that. (Mind you: it's also the risk of stunt casting a too big name. As it revealed from Brolin's latest interview, it's not true that they were avid fans of the show, that's not how he landed in that role. I can be wrong but IMHO his name had nothing extra value to the show in the numbers.)
Maybe cos the story this week was pretty damn lame, same for last week. Some of Castle's episodes have stretched the bounds of reality, but these two were very weak episodes back to back.
I didn't think the episode was Awesome like so many others did, but I didn't think it was Awful either. I have read so many that want James Brolin as a regular on the show...I think that would be a big mistake. I don't mind the idea of an occasional guest appearances, because so far that means some kind of danger for Castle, but I don't want the chemistry of the show to change to accommodate his character. Just my opinion!
Perhaps Jackson Hunt did not make it for you. However, We got a kiss, a pat on the rump, interaction between Kate and Martha along with Rick. A major discussion about the wedding. and finally a discussion between Rick and Martha over his Father. I think that alone was worthy of the Awesome ranking. Outside Brolin's version of Rick's Father.
I love Castle talk about it nonstop. I thought this episode was good. I enjoyed it. Will a re-watch the episode, (only the Caskett moments), otherwise not. I thought last week episode was better then this one.
At least now we know when they are planning to get married. Even that had me shake my head, for now we have 4 long agonizing summer months to get through. Here's hoping they do a time jump for the May sweeps.
Loved it. Martha and Hunt's scenes were great, she is possibly my favorite recurring character. Hunt was great, but I don't know what was all that BS about him flirting with Beckett in the previews for the episode, I didn't notice any of that. And I loved how excited Kate got after Castle set a date.
Really liked the ep. Love James Brolin. He makes a great spy. But I really hope that, in real life, CIA's security is smart enough NOT to store their sensitive files on a computer that's on any system even remotely connected to an outside network. Favorite thing about Scandal...Huck's top secret file was on PAPER. :-)
This episode was very good. I enjoyed all the Caskett moments especially when Castle told Kate she was family and he picked September as the month as Kate mentioned at the beginning of the ep. Rick is starting to take this wedding stuff seriously now and each episode has shown me how much their love has grown for one another. As for Castle's father, he is a spy and they detach from everyone and everything. Their focus is their mission. He used them as assets to locate the killer and he did his job and left. It is what spies do. If he doesnt come back I wont be disappointed though JB is handsome and nice to look at :)
It's possible there were some scenes that were edited out that gave Brolin that idea. It is possible that the tone of the original script was different. He approved the script, came in and shot his scenes, and left. He couldn't know how they would cut the episode in the end, he probably wasn't given a screener (or didn't watch it) before he gave that interview.
Awsome Episode. I will be honest that little dance Kate did in the end with that clap that looked like she was high-fiving herself, totally made my entire week. Also I feel like those people I judged back in the season 3 finale because they seriously believed Beckett could die, but the wedding has got to be this season right?
I am really digging this season. Really liked this one and all the dynamics. I will also love any episode that gives us more Martha than usual, I just adore her. The Rick-Becket scene at the end was cute.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Something tells me that flexible conversation is going to make its way into fanfiction. Very NSFW fanfiction.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know, why do people abruptly stopped watching this show. :/ BTW the episode was great. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat episode! James Brolin brought depth to the character of Castle's Dad
ReplyDeleteAwful
ReplyDeleteExcellent episode! I really enjoyed seeing Castle's dad again. :)
ReplyDeleteHow on earth can you find this episode awful?!

ReplyDeleteI think some people write nonsense comment like that one just to get a rise out of the loyal fans :)
ReplyDeleteLOL to Kate's comment on Sara Grace looking like Esposito :P
ReplyDeleteGuess you're right, I'm also pointing at the six there who voted as well...

I couldn't agree more :)

no, I was talking about THIS week.
ReplyDeleteActually all those quotes were Brolin's, not Marlowe's. Brolin definitely over sold it in his interviews.

ReplyDeleteI personally like this version of Rick's Father. I loved the realization of Rick. I loved how He told Kate she was his family not Jackson.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny! I loved how Ryan reacted as he was disappointed in Kate.

Does anyone think the 'September' date for the wedding means they are already talking Season 7?
ReplyDeleteSeason 7 is a given.
