I'm surprised Chevy would agree to this.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Chevy Chase.
ReplyDeleteWell, I liked the movies of it. Maybe the series won't be half bad?
ReplyDeleteI'll check this out in the memory of Piercinald Anastasia Hawthorne.
ReplyDeleteYes !
ReplyDeleteI've secretly wished for this to happen for years ! C'mon who isn't a fan of 'Christmas Vacation' ?
Now while I've got my excitement out of the way I'll start with my concerns: who else will return ? Didn't Randy Quaid completely lose it and fled the US to Canada effectively ending his career? And who will play the kids ?
Dana Barron doesen't really have a huge career going on, Juliette Lewis is pretty much active but certainly gettable for the part, Marisol Nichols doesen't have anything going on for her either.
I'd go for Juliette Lewis on that one, she was great in Christmas Vacation and has a good resume speaking for her.
Ethan Embry is available after they killed of Greg on OuaT, Jason Lively didn't do much since 2003 so I don't know wether he left the biz or just doesen't have much going for himself.
The tricky ones are Johnny Galecki and Anthony Michael Hall, Galecki has the strongest rated comedy show and Hall is on Awkward.
Depending on wether this would be a fall show or a limited summer show (I could see them do a 10 episode long series about one roadtrip and their misadventures) I would still say: go for Galecki if you can, if he genuinely can't go for Hall.
As for the concept: I can see them do both a 10 episode long season featuring one roadtrip only. Or a 22 episode season shot as a single camera comedy (don't go multicam...we have too much of that).
I also don't get why so many people dislike Chevy nowadays, sure he's a hard character to work with but he DID come back to Community for an episode despite the lawsuit and despite him not being permited to enter set. He actually worked it out WITH Harmon, proving that he just couldn't work on this show for any longer (he said he disliked the way his character was written and Chevy's from a different generation of actors, if he says he wants to quit he does).
Love D'Angelo and Chevy as Clark and Ellen, so I'm hyped as hell
Woah! Never thought I would see this! Don't know if I would watch it, but might be funny!
