Being on Fridays a 0.6 is more than enough, but if it drops heavily it's done. I guess if it keeps it over a million and stays at 0.4 it may survive, otherwise...
Out of the new shows in 2013-2014 this is my second favorite, even after only watching the first two eps. I think it's got a great premise and a solid cast. It's not a 22 episode season , but 13 so it won't drag. I hope it lasts.
I felt a bit underwhelmed with the pilot but I think I had too high expectations. I still want the show to do well. I have no idea how volatile sci-fi's ratings are how are their thresholds, so we'll see.
18-49 ratings are irrelevant. Advertisers as a group don't pay more for them.
Less than 2 million viewers for your "big show" with your "star producer" is a flop. But then again, doesn't everything Ron Moore touches flop (except in Siffy's press releases)?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh shit, that's not good.
ReplyDeleteis that bad or good? i have no idea about how syfy ratings works.
ReplyDeletei think somewhere in the mediocre range
ReplyDeleteIt's ok.
ReplyDeleteYou can use the ratings database to see the ratings of other syfy show

It aired on Friday night for a 90 minutes so I think SyFy will give it some leeway though.
ReplyDeleteShame, I've seen 3 episodes (epi 3 was by far the best) and I like it a lot. I'll keep watching.
ReplyDeletethanks i will check it out.

ReplyDeletewell at least its not a complete fail , but after the pilot the ratings always seems to drop a lot so its worrying.
ReplyDeleteWow, honestly I expected a lot higher for this show.
ReplyDeleteModerate can work

ReplyDeleteMe too!

ReplyDeleteI was disappointed also with the pilot.I'm not sure what i was expecting...?
ReplyDeleteWas Helix meant to be a mini series or an ongoing seasons with multiple seasons? I thought the first one.
ReplyDeleteWith respect, these aren't "moderate" ratings. It's an out and out fop right from the get-go.
ReplyDeleteIt did get worse and the only question left is if it will reach under a million viewers for one of its premiere airings.
Surely Siffy isn't thinking of renewing it, right???
Walkin Dead on cable 18 million premiere viewers... Dropping a lot since, but so has Helix.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Siffy is so used to renewing flops, don't lose hope.
Except it's not "moderate". It's flopperoony-mcFaddy...
ReplyDeleteOf course, since it's Siffy where flops reign supreme and nobody has any clue what a hit should look like, it may yet get a second pointless season.
Ronald D. Moore strikes again!

Yes it is. Big flop. The fact Siffy can't buy a real hit should not obscure that fact.
ReplyDeleteYet predictable. After all it said "produced by Ronald D. Moore"...
