ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Did you always know Cordelia was going to be the Supreme?
RYAN MURPHY: Yeah. I mean I think that was always the trajectory of that character. The whole season has been about mothers and daughters, second chances, second phases in your life, believing in yourself when no one does. And if you look back she was always that character. Even in the first episode they say, “Are you the Supreme?” and she says “No” with such adamants and sadness. So you can really go back and clock Cordelia’s arc which we’ve enjoyed doing.

ReplyDeleteThey could always publish a line a books or comics based on what happened after this season... Buffy did the after their show was over (continued their seasons in comic book form) and lots of other shows publish official novels and comics. Though, I doubt they will, it would be an option to continue the AHS: Coven without having it be on tv.

ReplyDeletecan anybody explain why Cordelia couldnt bring Zoe back to life for the first time, and Queenie couldnt either so she was ruled out from the competition, then when the idea than cordelia may be the supreme emerged, she was given the second chance.
ReplyDeleteCompared to the first two seasons with compelling stories of characters as they grow from beginning to end, that was good crafty writing. But this time, my opinions on how Coven has hit sourpuss all over the places. I wish Ryan could have beefed up more on witchcraft spells and counter spells. They are a good tools to make waves of compelling stories for witches as they go.
ReplyDeleteEpisode 3 is a good example where Madison threw the bus down with telekinsis, then suddenly the girls spent a lot of time at Coven for the rest of season yakking 'girl problems.' The character of Fiona should have 'consequences' on her plate. The singer witch should have been introduced and shown in every episode, just like the finale did. Zoe is....well Zoe, a character I do not really care about. Madison is Madison in her own ways I sort of like. I'd like to see more interactive scenes between Queenie and Fiona.
Cordiela is the only character that has shown compelling stories from beginning to end while the rest felt stuck in limbo. I think Coven could have done a better job. Ryan, if you need some help. Hire me!
The truth is now I am even more intrested what's going to happen with that coven than during this season! Bring us a movie or one more season about it! Or at least a book!

ReplyDeleteCordelia never tried the first time. I don't know what's up with Queenie, but it could have been a temporary power in line with the "It's not uncommon for witches to develop multiple powers in times of crisis." Why she lost it? Maybe the powers the use where moving into the real supreme or something like that.
