The movie is one of my favorite "drama" movies (as in, not sci-fi, supernatural, horror, whatever) and I like the cast of the show...I *really* hope it can be different but just as good as the movie in its own way. I'm really stoked to see it.
David Walton played a similar character in NBC's Bent so he should be good in this. I think my only real creative concern is that, for a TV series, they might have been better off changing the boy to a girl. TV is a lot more kind to girls than boys growing up in front of a TV camera. Just look at Henry (Jared Gilmore) on OUAT.
I will watch this because I loved the movie and because I really really like David Walton and find him very underrated but this promo is not the kind of stuff that does it for me. Hope it was just a short teaser and that NBC steps up its game promoting the show, God knows they need a comedy success badly!
This is the one new comedy i have hopes for... But don't know if is something that has potential in the long haul. Maybe this is a one season kind of show.u know, 22 episodes and done.
Meh. I think as long as the two actors have good chemistry onscreen the difference would be negligible and only require a slight tweaking of the writing.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeletehaving The Voice as a lead in will likely help, if anything it may be the only surviving comedy at the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteI wastalking about plot... Idk, i don't see how the premise could go for 2 years; not to mention 5 or more!
ReplyDeleteI think a one year of 22 episodes would be better than estreching a simple plot like this.
But well, can't wait for the premier... It's the only new comedy i'll try out!
