Graduation Day, Parts 1 & 2, my second favourite Buffy season finale after The Gift.

ReplyDelete1) Band Candy. It was hilarious and the Giles/Joyce hook up was referenced a few times for a couple of years.
2) The Prom. Angel wore a suit.
3) The Zeppo. It's one of the only Xander centric episodes.
4) Amends. Introduces season 7's big bad.
5) Consequences... Faith be bad.
The Wish is incredible, and Part 2 of Graduation is one of the series' most epic & memorable battles ever (and yay for Cordelia finally slaying a vamp!). I've also always loved Earshot, one of my favorite standalone episodes of the whole series.
ReplyDeleteI went Bad Girls but it was close. Was always fond of Band Candy, Doppelgangland and the Graduation days.
ReplyDeleteThis was such an amazing season that it's impossible to pick just 5. But anyway, I went with both parts of Graduation Day, The Wish, Anne and Bad Girls.
ReplyDeleteHonorable mention: Consequences, Homecoming, Doppelgangland, Enemies, Revelations, The Prom. .. yeah, this season rocked. Not surprised that Dead Man's Part is dead (no pun intended) last. The characterization of Willow, Xander and even Joyce in this episode was horrible, they were so cruel towards Buffy.
A very strong season , I wish that 'the wish' had been a two parter as love alternate realities.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite season 3's episodes is The Wish (the ending is just beautiful.. That "Slayer's Elegy" music is just perfect). i also the Doppelgangland episode (Willow!! :D), the Graduation episodes and The Prom.
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome choices. band Candy is one of my all-time favorite episodes and the 2 Graduation Days packed a punch, although not as much as the 2 Becomings. The wish was a great alternate timeline episode and Earshot has always been a favorite as well. However there were about another 5 I would have voted for if given the chance.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on Band Candy. That episode was pure fun plus it gave both Giles adn Joyce a meaty part, something I wish had happened more often.

ReplyDelete- Band Candy: Just so much fun! favorite episode of the season for that reason. And Joyce and Giles were just superb, kudos to Snyder as well.
- Bad Girls: This episode just was awesome! the contrast and simmilarities between Buffy and Faith was one of the mayor themes of the season, and this episode was the game changer that lead us to the 3rd act. Just awesome.
-Graduation parts 1 and 2. Like, obviously. From Buffy and Faiths final encounter to the school exploding, these to episodes where just the perfect way of closing an era!!
- Helpless: This was just a great episode, and showed us that Buffy is the hero even without her super strength. Also, we got really nice moments with Joyce and Buffy (one of my favorite relationships in the show) and the strenghtening of Buffy and Giles' bond and the fallout of his actions.
Honorable mentions go to the Zeppo and Doppelgangland. The first is a must see entry to understand Xander, but the undertones of sadness and uselessnes don't make it the funniest Ep. Doppelgangland is fun all around! but it's not as fun as Band Candy hahaha.
Yess! Also Snyder hahah (well, I didn't want to see more of him per se, but he was really fun in that episode) And though we did get more Giles in seasons to come, we never really did get enough Joyce :(
