The SpoilerTV 2013 Episode Competition - Day 13 - Round 3: Polls 1-4

31 Dec 2013

DAY 13! (Results from yesterday can be found here.)

And so Round 3 begins. We had some shocks in Round 2, with Breaking Bad's 'Ozymandias' losing to Arrow's 'The Scientist', along with Fringe's 'An Enemy of Fate' which lost to Beauty and the Beast's 'Kidnapped'. The Walking Dead's 'Too Far Gone' was beaten by an astounding 696 votes by Castle's 'Still', while Beauty and the Beast's 'Man or Beast?' took down Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special 'The Day of the Doctor'. Shocks of massive proportion - this competition is entering realms where I cannot even begin to predict what will happen. It makes things even more exciting as we head into the last few days of the competition.

The rules are as follows:
1. Two episodes go head to head for 24 hours. The episode that emerges as winner will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly.

The first of today's polls features The Mentalist's 'My Blue Heaven' against Supernatural's midseason finale 'Holy Terror'. We then have the ever popular Game of Thrones and its 'The Rains of Castamere' battling against Arrow's season 1 finale 'Sacrifice'

Moving on, we have another Arrow episode: 'The Scientist' and that is up against The Blacklist's midseason finale 'Anslo Garrick'. Finally, Beauty and the Beast's 'Kidnapped' aims for another big upset as it takes on Fringe's 'The Boy Must Live'. Four great battles today, who will progress to the quarter-finals?

The draw:

Don’t forget to share the poll; the more people vote, the more chance your episode has of winning!

Check back tomorrow for the next four polls from Round 3!

  1. My votes go to both Arrow episodes today. Looking back to yesterday, NCIS beat out Grey's Anatomy by ONE vote!

  2. Nothing - Arrow - Arrow - nothing.

  3. Supernatural - Holy Terror
    Arrow - Sacrifice
    Arrow - The Scientist
Fringe - The Boy Must Live

  4. Arrow's Sacrifice gets my vote for best episode of 2013, so it will always get my vote. Nothing for the first, both are great for the third, and I've only seen the Fringe episode in the last and it wasn't my favorite, so nothing again.

  5. GoT and Fringe for me today; as much as I love Arrow's finale, GoT's Red Wedding was the best episode television saw this year

  6. I felt like I was in heaven when I watched My Blue Heaven! The Mentalist <3

  7. One vote and it went to Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The Mentalist, of course! :D Happy New Year's Eve by the way, guys!

  9. Another vote for Beauty and the Beast ~ Kidnapped is a goodie ~ one of my favorite eps!

  10. Supernatural
    Game of Thrones

  12. I loved the Arrow finale too, but I have to agree with you on Got, I haven't read that book (yet), so I was surprised (and shocked!) with that episode.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Fringe: The Boy Must Live

    ReplyDelete
  14. - Game of Thrones (although Arrow's episode was very good too)
    - The Blacklist
    - Fringe

  15. Sorry Fringe, had to give my vote to the Beast, as in Beauty & the Beast :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Game of Thrones
    The Blacklist
Fringe - The Boy Must Live! Well,at least it made it this far....still sucks tho tbh.

  20. Wow, Arrow's Sacrifice must have been an epic episode if it's beating out the Red Wedding on GoT!

  21. My vote goes to Beauty and the Beast - Kidnapped! I loved it!

If this ends on a BATB final or The Rains of Castamere don't pass (like what happened, unfortunately, with Ozymandias), I'm gonna lose the faith on humanity.

I like Arrow and the episode, but only blind fanboys can pick this instead of the Red Wedding.

The same blind fanboys that eliminated Ozymandias, the only episode with a perfect score on IMDB.

  24. By far the best episode I've watched in 2013. Granted, I don't watch GoT but still.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It's not fanboys - or at least not the whole time. It depends on what shows people have watched and whether or not all those people that would vote for GoT or Ozymandias see the polls. Simple as.

    1.Supernatural
    2.Arrow
    3.Arrow
    4.Fringe

  27. Well, everything I voted for is losing, but good luck to everyone!

    1. Supernatural - The Mentalist is awesome, but I thought Holy Terror was the second best episode of season 9 so far.
    2. Game of Thrones - The Red Wedding is one of the best scenes on TV ever, IMHO
    3. Blacklist - This was a hard one - I liked Barry Allen, but thought that the episode was only ok. However, the Blacklist had action, suspense, and a new twist at the end, so it was the winner to me.
    4. Fringe - I didn't necessarily like the ending (specifically that it ended), but I thought that it was one of the best it could do. I liked that Etta made it to her father's arms and the letter at the end. RIP Fringe.

  28. The Mentalist, Arrow, The Blacklist and Fringe (!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Rains of Castamere, and The Boy Must Live.

  30. I only saw the Game of Thrones pilot. I voted for Arrow's Sacrifice because it was the best episode of TV I have seen a long time. It was like a movie with quality effects, great drama, lots of action, and great character interaction. It too included surprise death and it packed one wallop of a punch. Of all I saw in 2013, it's the episode I've rewatched the most and it still does not lose its appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Some of us simply do not like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. There's nothing fanboy about that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How is Fringe losing?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good to know! It sounds like I'm going to have to start watching Arrow again. I quit after an episode or so, but I've only been hearing great things. When I get some time, maybe I'll give it another shot.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Because there is a lot of BatB fans on SpoilerTV.com. While I think that these competitions are really fun, sometimes it is a popularity contest - if only because not everyone has seen both choices.

    ReplyDelete
  35. GOT The Rains Of Castamere of course such a great episode and Fringe The Boy Must Live

    ReplyDelete
  36. Don't get me wrong. Arrow season 1 had its ups and downs. Season 2 is far more consistent, but season 1 had found its footing leading up to the finale. Then it blew me away by going to so far beyond my expectations. It alone showed me just what Arrow was capable of and made Arrow the returning show I was most anticipating.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They are always a popularity contest, just like all online polls. You are right that this one has a bigger disadvantage because not everyone has seen every episode. There are some here that I have not even heard about which is rare if it is a huge episode. Usually I hear about those whether I watch the show or not.

    ReplyDelete
  38. There was nothing surprising about it to those who read the books and one of these characters was also stupidly resurrected afterwards and ended up ruining it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Exactly. I saw several episodes of GoT's S1 and that was enough for me.

    ReplyDelete
  40. They finally found their footing on episode 1.14, and from that episode until today, there was only one episode I didn't like (episode 2.07,) the rest were at least good if not great.
I like their pacing, they added humor, they built an Arrow team successfully and Oliver is working together with them instead of running a one man operation, and this season they also succeeded incorporating most of the secondary characters and make them an integral part of the story.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Any particular episodes?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Voted for SPN, Arrow and The Blacklist today.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Only hard one for me was arrows sacrifice over game of thrones reigns of castamere because both were so incredible. But sacrifice was just superb and greatly exceed my expectations for what the finale would be.
Also voted supernatural, the other arrow episode and fringe

    ReplyDelete
  44. Happy New Year Laura. I guess I'm lucky in this vote since I've never watched BatB.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Happy New Year to you too! Yep,BatB fandom is quite large here on Spoiler, but you know it seems Fringe had to always fight for its life.At least we know for all who watched Fringe knew/knows just how special Fringe is!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I cannot believe GoT is losing, what the heck?

    ReplyDelete
  47. 2.07 was an unmitigated disaster for sure but they have hit almost every item on my wish list for the second season. I am particularly impressed by how they changed Oliver's character without having to resort to retcon.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The Mentalist - My Blue Heaven
    Chicago Fire's episodes
    PLL
Castle - Still and Revolution (which really surprises me because I used to watch both of those shows)
    Reign - Kissed
    Gray's Anatomy
    Modern Family

    ReplyDelete
  49. As Arrow's Sacrifice goes, so does the last of episodes I am interested in here. It was a good run and Sacrifice is still the single best hour of TV I watched last year.

    ReplyDelete
  50. By two votes too! If only a couple more Arrow fans had voted...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sigh. Such is the way these things go. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Very classy,Freda most would start spewing hate if their shows were losing, we need more ppl like you on here, Thanks and Happy New Year!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Happy New Year! and Thank you. It's silly to get upset over most things - getting upset over an online poll is really silly.
