  1. Awesome, awesome episode!
My poor, poor Hershel. I was hoping he wouldn't die. That was too sad. I wish Maggie or Beth had gotten the chance to kill him for that. Hershel was the heart and moral center of the show. The Governor is an ass for killing him.
I loved Rick's speech. It was a good one, but was lost on the Governor who is an evil POS!
Lizzie? Wow . . . I wasn't expecting that from her. She rocks for shooting those people and helping out Tyreese. I'm glad she took Carol's lessons to heart. Ty needed her.
And my baby, Carl! He popped up to save his dad. Love him. I feel bad for Judith. That was sad.
Such a great episode! I'm glad those people w/the Governor died!

  2. Hershell noo!! It was really sad see he go..and poor Maggie and Beth to see their father dying like this..i'm really pissed right now!! and the Governor is really dead now, right? And Michonne saved Rick's life!!!

  3. This episode was shocking. I expected death but I didn't expect it all to go down like this. Rick was shot as was Bob. Hershel is dead, Mitch is dead, Alisha is dead, Meghan is dead, The Governor is dead, and presumably Judith too. I'm glad it was both Michonne and Lilly who finally killed The Governor. The group's broken now. Rick and Carl's on their own. Michonne's on her own. Glenn's on the bus that took off. Maggie and Beth's on their own. Bob and Sasha's on their own. Daryl's on his own. How fitting is it that Carol was the one who murdered Tyreese's lover and he's the one taking care of Carol's adopted girls Lizzie and Mika. I have to question whether or not Judith is actually dead. During The Talking Dead she wasn't listed under the In Memorial section.

  4. I kinda liked the scene between Hershel and The Governor in the RV.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Carol is responsible for the death of Judith! She told to the girls "You are strong (and leave helpless babys)"

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm sure The Governor's dead. He took a sword through the chest and then Lilly shot him. If he's still alive then he's immortal.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh I've had that experience in a dorm ha. I was only in a dorm my first year of college luckily. I tried to be quiet but I'm sure my neighbors heard me once in a while at least. Not that it should have mattered - they were more noisy. :P

  8. I'm sure my neighbors are hating me this weekend. First I lost it when Alabama lost to Auburn yesterday and then tonight I was yelling multiple times from 9-10. Yelled when Hershel died. Yelled when Daryl was nearly killed. Yelled when Michonne stabbed The Governor. Yelled when Carl saved Rick. LOL. I'm sure the cops will be here soon to issue me a citation for disturbing the peace.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think Michonne is w/Rick and Carl.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hahaha! I was yelling too!
I also shouted when Lizzie took down Alisha and that other guy, saving Tyreese. I was like, "GO LIZZIE!!!" That was an awesome scene!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I was doing the same thing with Daryl when that walker coming up behind him!

    ReplyDelete
  12. She might be but I didn't see her with them. She stabbed The Governor then Rick took off to look for Carl. I didn't see her when Rick and Carl were up on that hill fleeing either. I hate hate hate waiting until February.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That was a great scene!

    ReplyDelete
  14. holy S****. I was trembling it was so intense, and still am.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I just wonder if Judith is dead. I know her carseat was full of blood and all but who says that wasn't from a wounded person picking her up or something. I know it's implied that she's dead but I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Honestly the entire episode was great. Every scene was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah I was shaking when he killed Hershel and my fingernails are officially gone now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You're right, but I saw an interview w/the cast on "Katie" a few months back, and from what Andrew Lincoln hinted at I'm thinking Michonne w/be w/him and Carl. She may have met them in the woods.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hahaha! He's definitely dead! Good riddance!
I was watching TTD, and they wrote "Rot in Hell, Governor" on their memoriam. I agree w/that sentiment wholeheartedly.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree! I voted "Awesome." I love this show and cannot wait for February.
I will deeply miss Hershel though :-(

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hopefully. Now we're all going to be waiting for a reunion. I hope Carol's part of that reunion. I wonder though if and when they run into her will Rick still feel the need to tell Tyreese about her actions. He told her to find a group who didn't know what she did. That might be what she did.

I froze when Hershel was killed, I couldn't process anything. Like if Paul Walker's death wasn't enough for me today...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Judith was part of that memoriam.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah whoever voted awful must be blind.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Was she? I must have missed her!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oops meant to say wasn't not was.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I want Carol back b/c I've been shipping Daryl/Carol since S2. Haha!
I completely understand why Rick kicked her out, but wouldn't mind having her back. Without her tutelage, Tyreese would be dead!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wonder who has her if she's not dead?

    ReplyDelete
  29. You're right. He teachings saved Tyreese's life. In a way he owes Carol now.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I know the carseat was bloody but who knows. Someone could've been wounded in the arm and scooped her up transferring their blood onto the carseat and whisked her onto the bus.

    ReplyDelete
  31. He does!
From the beginning, I've thought Lizzie was strange, but I must say I was cheering her on (rather loudly - haha) tonight! Carol's teachings came into play.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Lizzie's like a future serial killer. I'm seeing her as the type who would be caught with cat heads in her backpack one day lol.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh no! Well, maybe, Tyreese can help teach her some things. He's w/them, right?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah. They saved him by killing that dude and Alisha then he took off with them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did you just see that clip of the second half of the season? It looks soo good!
I wonder when our people will reunite.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah I saw it. In the comics the group found a safe-zone in Virginia where Rick took over as leader. The place is like Woodbury.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Maybe Lily will become the countrepart of Carol in the comic :).... After all of this... and will kill herself ...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Actually, that's one time I wished Carol had been there. She would have protected Asskicker.

    ReplyDelete
  39. OMG! I been watching the wrong show this midseason F was soo good I cheered when the Governer got it in the end cryed when Hershel died and what happen to the baby? but what suck is the wait feb 9th they say when it will come back this its truly my new Fav show it is to damn good.

    ReplyDelete
  40. screaming please don't kill Daryl I was doing that too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Daryl single-handedly took out a TANK! He's like the Legolas of TWD world!

    ReplyDelete
  42. i think tyreese and the girls are going to find carol..survive with her--tyreese not knowing that she killed karen..

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's been my favorite show for awhile now! February can't come soon enough for me!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I want Hershel back! Bring him back! That totally sucked. The rest of the ep was good, but I thought the Gov got off too easy. Michonne should have tortured him alot or fed him to the walkers.

I loved the scene of the girls with the guns. Lizzie and her sister really stepped up.

Rick deserved a beatdown all season, but I still felt sorry for him. I would rather see Carole beating on him.

I'm guessing Judith was probably put on the bus before it took off, but you never know.

    Pretty powerful ep all around.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Unbelievable episode. I felt so many emotions it was incredible. I felt sick to my stomach about hershel's death. He didnt deserve that. But so glad michonne killed the governor. Excited to see what happens next

    ReplyDelete
  46. I agree with everything you said. All those people followed this psycho man and died because of his lunacy and their stupidity. I was screaming very loud when the walker was coming toward Daryl. I think my neighbors heard my entire family screaming when Michonne saved Rick. That was quite the beat down he took. Michonne did keep her promise to the Governor that she would kill him. I am so glad he is dead!

I really loved the entire episode and was so sad that Hershel died. His death mirrored another character (won't spoil it just in case) from the comics. The ending where Rick and Carl were walking up the hill and he told Carl not to look back was also sad. I am so excited for February and can't wait to see if they are headed to the safe zone.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't know was a great episode, but I felt like this could have been more powerful if this were a episode of the end of season 3 and not of the mid-season of season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I cant even deal right now. Like what the who the how the. Where am I?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think that compared to other deaths on the show Hershel went pretty peacefully.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Awesome episode! This is what the Season 3 finale should've been like! We finally got a full fledged battle. It sucks that Hershel was killed, and in similar fashion to Comic-Tyreese, but I was glad he got to smile before he died when he saw that Rick changed and was willing to move beyond the past. And hell yeah Michonne! She should've stabbed the Governor a few more times!

All in all, I'm surprised a few more people didn't die (not that I'm upset by that), but I'm still curious if Judith is dead or not... since I didn't think they'd be able to show a baby being killed on TV like in the comics.

I am glad though that it ultimately went down as I expected/hoped it did: end of Governor, end of prison, everyone separated. It'll add some nice tension for Season 4b premiere.

    ReplyDelete
  51. EPIC!

Now that was a showdown worth waiting for. I loved the fact they built up to it with the Governor's almost redemption, so that when this showdown came it was more tense, emotional and unpredictable. I really thought for a second Hershel might be able to talk him round. We all knew The Gov would eventually have to die, but how and who he took with him was the question. I almost wanted him to agree to join Rick's group so that we could have another twist (and less carnage). Glad Michone got her revenge in the end though. Killing poor Megan was harrowing, I really didn't want that to happen but as soon as it did you knew the shit was going to go down. But Hershel, oh God Hershel, I don't even know what to say that, I'm still in shock! What does this show have against old people?

And finally we move on from the prison, which had stagnated the story, but where are they going next, and how the hell are they going to end this story except in misery and death! We seem to be repeating a cycle. :(

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow what an incredible episode. This season truly rocks. Scott Gimple knows how to run the show.

    ReplyDelete
  53. my heart was racging during the last 10 minutes or so of the episode. I knew Daryl would stab that zombie but it was a close call. I hope what's left the group takes in Tara/Lilly. They will almost need to with Rick barely clinging to life. So, none of the main cast were on the bus? That probably means they are out of the show then. and I think Judith is gone. there was blood in the baby carrier. what a chaotic episode!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was hoping they would go to Morgan's town.

    ReplyDelete
  55. One of the best episodes of the walking dead ever in my opinion , however i did hope that Hershel wouldn't die , but sadly he did although i thought he didn't deserve that type of death or even a death at all he was the heart and sole of the group and the one rick really listened to.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Glenn was on the bus.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes, indeed. One of the best episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Great, but I think they should have put battle in the finale, because it'd be more logic. Season 4 is so chaotic, there is no common storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  59. if they would have stayed in the prison until the finale it would have gotten very boring.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Also, the straps were unbuckled.

    ReplyDelete
  61. i think the kids hid judith , and glenn was on the bus but most of the characters on the bus wont be there when the walking dead resumes as they are just extras.

    ReplyDelete
  62. You're right. I just rewatched the last few minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hershel got a sword to his head , as if that wasn't enough he got his head smashed in by the governor a peaceful death was jim back in season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I hear you, but I just wanted him to suffer more. He deserved a very slow and painful death!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah......didn't they find it strange that both their leaders died the moment the Governor showed up, and suddenly, he's in charge?!???? Those people were stupid. I'm happy they're dead.

I do hope our survivors can find a safe place at some point!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jim was bitten and left to die by the road. He was alone and helpless and terrified. How peaceful was that? On the other hand, by the look on Hershel's face he knew what was coming and he accepted that fate. Furthermore I doubt he felt much after that first hit. I think that was a pretty good send off for a beloved character.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I am so sad to see Hershel go. He has slowly become my favorite, and I just love his take on life.

I thought it was a great little twist that Meghan died and Brian did it all for nothing. If he had stayed with her, she would be alive. I am also glad that it was Lily that ended up killing him. Hopefully she will join Rick and Co.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lizze is going to turn into a psycho. I reckon it's her that dissected that rat. That girl has a screw loose.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think she's dead - her carrier was full of blood. They ate her.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well, at last The Governor didn't shot Judith this time. It was a very good episode, nothing like the first episode of this season who was boring in my opinion. We were tension all time and that means this episode was veeeery good.

    ReplyDelete
  71. One of the best episodes of ANY tv show I've ever seen. I was so affected throughout the whole thing. So many feelings, I couldn't even decide properly. It was amazing. This is why this is my favorite show on TV. Andrew Lincoln should get all the awards in the world IMO. Also, I don't think there is any relationship on TV that I enjoy more than Carl and Rick, it's amazing. SO GUTTED to see Hershell and the prison (in a way, it was its own character) go!

    ReplyDelete
  72. The Governor was not the one who shot Judith. Nobody shot Judith. A Woodbury woman shot Lori, who fell on Judith

    ReplyDelete
  73. Andrew Lincoln is awesome! I love him as "Rick." He does great work all the time, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah . . . I've always thought she was the one feeding the zombies. I guess Tyreese will find out since he's traveling w/them!

    ReplyDelete
  75. He didn't get it smashed him, the Governor finished separating it from his body. I've no doubt he intended it to be the first in his new fishtank of walker heads.

    ReplyDelete
  76. You can't really fault these people for following him. We as the audience know he's a psycho, but they certainly didn't. And with the way he delivered that speech about the people at the prison, and having witnessed the kind family man the Governor had been since joining their group, why wouldn't they believe him? An added bonus was their last leader, Martinez, knew him from before and pretty much implied they could trust what the man said. Also, in the Governor's mind, Rick and Co were exactly what he described them to be - murderers who destroyed his town.

    ReplyDelete
  77. In a world where people die almost every other day, I don't think it's that suspicious. They were concerned with the pits being overcrowded and mentioned they'd lost others just prior to the Governor and his family unit arriving. Martinez also pretty much said they could trust him, too. Why be suspicious of the guy their leader was happy to welcome into his group? They'd no idea what kind of man he really was underneath, they'd only seen "Brian", who was even-keeled and helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  78. You're going to love it! It's only 6 episodes, I believe, but very intense!

    ReplyDelete
  79. We have two different perspectives. You might not fault the people with following the Governor and believing him but I most certainly do. He did deliver a powerful speech but Rick's speech was equally compelling. Just like with many people, the Governor lied about the prison group and did not tell about the horrible things that he had done that had precipitated the entire conflict. It was completely one sided but that was purely to serve the governor's purpose. Not one person besides Lily thought it was harsh and suspicious that this man was so hell bent on taking the prison. Someone else mentioned that not one person found it suspicious that two leaders died within days of the governor coming into camp. I find it very curious that Mitch of all people was so intent on following the governor's plan after what the governor did to his brother. Survival is survival but what purpose did it serve to follow this man into pure madness after Rick's heartfelt plea. The governor was so hell bent on revenge that he destroyed the very place he stated was their sanctuary. Even Lily was starting to have second thoughts about this man. In the heat of the moment, things got out of hand but I absolutely do fault this group of people for blindly following this man when there was clearly another side to this story.

  80. If Gimple had been the showrunner in S3 it probably would have. This is exactly how TG storyline should have played out. He is a genius and has turned the mess Mazzara made back into a great show that is true to the comics. He cant undo what GM did, or bring back andfrea. Give Tyreese a better personality (and the death he needed at the prison) But he has successfully undone all the wrong doings of Glen Mazzara and bought this show back to a place it can move forward. Now we've fixed what was wrong with S3 - Gimple can move forward and make this show his own. And I cant wait!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Because the blood hand on the doorknob, or what it was, was very small and pretty low for a grown up. Just a guess.

    ReplyDelete
  82. oh , it looked like he was like smashing it in , maybe im mistaken

    ReplyDelete
  83. Best episode they have ever done! This is the govener battle ive been waiting for. heart breaking to see main characters die but it makes it more exciting. Not sure about judith being dead either the writers didn't want to show you to much because its a dead baby thats sick or she could actually be alive because the kids did have her and I can't see them just dropping her after there kick ass moment. Awesome just awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm still speechless. That was an amazing and awesome episode. I really need to read the comics.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I had no problem with Lilly firing that last shot. She deserved that honor, after his coldness toward Meghan "I promise I'll keep you safe" Chambler.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I hope we see her on the bus. I hope someone ran past her, turned, took her out of her seat, and took her to the bus. It won't happen, because Kirkman reminded us that "there was a lot of blood on that car seat," but for two months I will hope anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  87. well it was so good that I had to now see if I can get them on DVD so I just order the 1season will cost 20$ so I will try to see all of them I am allways late in the game like I did not Watch SPN untell 2010 after season 5 because I get to rap up into the show and go crazy over it and this one with all the death they kill people left and right on this show I be freaking out every ep so but Damn this was a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Lily's bullet went through Judith as well as Lori. It's why Lily went batshit when she realized what she'd done. She kept screaming "you made me kill a child" at the Governor as she shot him.

    ReplyDelete
  89. If they got rid of all of the cast besides Andy and Chandler, they may as well cancel the series. People would stop watching in droves.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Kirkman said on Talking Dead that the more beloved, popular a character, the more memorable a death they get. It's their way of paying tribute to them - they're important enough to deserve a death that will affect fans and be remembered for ages.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Typically the mid-season finales are the more powerful finales of a season.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Why would you think LILY killed them?

    ReplyDelete
  93. I think Judith jumped out of the carseat and killed a ton of walkers. Then drove the bus away from the prison.
