  3. Best season ever.

  4. Revenge only had good first part of season 1. The rest is bad/awful.

  5. It's a step up from where it was a year ago. I feel there are still pacing issues, and it suffers from a lack of the crisp direction and cohesion of season 1, but still I'm happy with it. It will be interesting to rate the season as a whole once it is finished.

  6. It's been really good so far.

  7. Better than last year, I am happy so far.

  8. So much better than season 2, but needs improvement. I suggest since they started dropping season 2 storylines like the initiative and Conrad becoming governor, let them remove Aiden.

  9. Excellent, everything is developing pretty nicely

  10. Great as always... The writing and twists are of very high quality!

Great season, better than season 1 but season 2 was so much better.

  12. Get rid of Aiden and it'd be flawless.

  13. I am loving this season. However, I also really enjoyed Season 2, especially the second half. The first half had some issues because I felt the mother arc was not properly executed but that was it, I really enjoyed the rest of the season. But yeah I like this one better. It's been on top of its game.

  17. To begin with, it's much, much better than season 2, which had too many ups and downs. Season 1 was good, but it had a very "guilty pleasure", takedown-of-the-week feel to it.
Season 3 so far is my favourite, because not only does it have more twists, the characters seem more realistic. Emily's plans don't always pan out as planned because she's not omniscient, but in the previous two seasons she didn't seem too affected by setbacks. She was constantly in "warrior mode" and switched between 'scheming, serious expression' and fake smiles. In season 3, Emily Van Camp gets to show a more vulnerable and emotional side of the character, she's certainly added more depth and complexity in her scenes and I'm loving it.
But Emily is just one example - all of the characters have evolved, have their own, interesting arcs, and I appreciate good character development. :)

  18. I debated whether to vote "Good" or "Excellent". Went with "Good", but I think it sells the show a little short. The show has been great this season, with showrunner Sunil Nayar correcting the mistakes of Season 2 and shifting the focus back to Emily's goal and the core cast of characters. Although, to be honest, I think the much-maligned S2 wasn't that terrible. Yes, it strayed off the main storyline in favor of the Initiative, Padma, Ems' foster brother, the stupid Stowaway arc and whatnot - and S3, as I said,
wisely fixed that - but I still enjoyed the show.

I didn't want to vote "Excellent" because I do feel the season premiere resolved all the previous plots in a REALLY rushed way, in an attempt to appease fans who hated S2. Nolan walks out of jail immediately, Conrad loses the governor's seat immediately, Charlotte's pregnancy is done away with in one blink-and-you'll-miss-it line, Patrick is immediately BFF's with the mother that abandoned him at birth, the weird explanation for the Initiative being gone, etc. Granted, some stuff they were wise to get rid of, but the Conrad and Nolan arcs could've been interesting. I thought it was simply fanservice that they disappeared immediately, in an attempt to erase every last trace of the previous season.

Anyway, I'm really excited that S3 is bringing us so many cool twists and that the execution of Emily's plan is FINALLY on the horizon. I really want to see how the show reinvents itself after that wedding, 2.5 years in the making, happens at last. Also, I love Patrick and Nolan together and I want the former to come back! Yeah, he's an attempted murderer, but whatever. Everyone on this show has done some kind of crazy shit, and Nolan deserves to be happy with someone instead of being screwed over as a net result of Ems' schemes for once. It doesn't hurt that they're so hot and cute together, either.

  19. Boring and mediocre. Mann and his spinsters-fans - it funnier than the show.

  20. I still wish they'd bring back Kara Clarke and get it right this time. There's so much potential there to expose the still human and vulnerable side of Emily (EVC's acting in that scene where Ems falls apart while listening to Kara and Fauxmanda talking from the other side of the door was phenomenal). They made the big S1 finale cliffhanger about Kara being alive and then did so little with her before shipping her off. It's a waste.

  21. i agree the only thing that i didn't like about this season is that it took place 6 months after the finale, i really wanted to see how jack reacted right after she told him she was amanda clarke

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree in theory that there's a lot of potential (and yes, EVC was incredible in those episodes) but I don't want her back I think. Those episodes were very off for the show. Emily became very distracted from the whole Revenge thing and I hated it the idea of her being involved with the man who killed her father, it was too soapish for me. I am glad they were at least able to realize that something was off and cut the storyline short never to mention it again. If they bring her back, I hope they do it in a more integrated way to the show and the whole revenge plot that makes sense and doesn't need its own separate show to follow.

  23. i don't think that it would fit the storyline if they brought kara clarke back if they did then it simply wouldn't make sense

  24. Im not watching the show like I did... I still follow the show and drift in and out so i can catch up when needed but the biggest problem is the show has forgotten its roots.. why Emily is on this quest to begin with - her rather. She took down maybe 4 or 5 people then sort of gave up and got distracted.

Will start watching again when Emily tells Victoria who she is tho.. however I feel if they leave it even another season longer it will be so anti climactic.

Aiden is the best addition to the show! Remove jack, he is a bore!

They need to keep aiden & get rid of Daniel!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm sorry, but while I'm not fan of Daniel, Aiden was thrown into the story out of nowhere, forcing us to believe Emily and Aiden had some deep rooted history together and that they're madly in love with each other, when he wasn't so much as mentioned the entire first season. There's no connection, no chemistry between the two like there is between say Emily and Jack. Aiden has never fit in anywhere, not with the good guys or the bad guys, and it's hard for me to see him as anything more than a dollar store Daniel Craig James Bond wannabe. Any time he's on screen I want to gouge my eyes out.

  28. It could get better. They could definitely improve on the drama between the marriage problems between Emily/ Daniel, Charlotte and Victoria. It's getting kinda boring with that, we get it Daniel has doubts. Victoria and Charlotte try to break them up and Emily makes up with Daniel. We get it. I wish they put in more external takedowns of those who helped cover it up, not a complete random like Bizzy, though I like Nolan getting some revenge.

I also wanted more personal scenes between Emily = Jack/ Charlotte and Nolan. Especially the first 2. Jack and Emily only talk about their revenge plans and Charlotte and Emily don't even talk.i hate it I like the character derived episodes. After the wedding, they better get some more personal/ emotional scenes, especially with Emily telling them about things in her past, as Jack and Charlotte know nothing. I mean Jack doesn't even know Emily tried to save Amanda, or everything that happened between Emily/ Amanda/ Jack, It may help with Jack's anger towards her.

  29. But it's better than last season. Even though I didn't hate last year. People say its confusing. I perfectly understood it. It's called watching and understanding. It really want that confusing, it was actually pretty straight forward. But yes it was weird having an all powerful organisation controlling everyone, but at particular times it was handy. What I hated though was how they were all removed from the plot like it didn't matter. I mean these were the actual people who put the bombs onto the plane and building and kidnapped and killed Aidens sister, I mean the Grayson deserve a lot of the hate but they didn't actually blow them up. The Initiative has to be taken down too. I hope somehow Emily takes them down too as she destroys the Grayson's. It would be stupid destroying the Grayson's but letting them live and continue to kill mass amount of people for money.

I solely did on Par because I don't know!. I've only seen season 1, 2 is out by now so I'm off to watch that. But I bet Revenge is still awesome :)

Coz aiden was not mentioned in the first season doesn't make him less interesting. Josh who plays Danny is a bad actor. Unbearable to watch IMO

    ReplyDelete
  34. I also don't think it matters that Aiden was never mentioned in Season 1, Emily had plenty of things on her mind and it's not that odd that she didn't bring up an old boyfriend. And I can't stand Daniel either. I feel he's completely useless because he's one of the characters who have zero agency. No matter how much he expresses disgust at his parents' actions, in the end he's always standing idly by and letting them get away with it. He's very easy to manipulate and has been played like a fiddle from day one, be it by Emily, Victoria, Conrad, the Initiative or anyone else. This season in particular he's been an asshole to Emily as well, giving her statement to the police to protect his evil father, installing a security system in HER house which she's allowing him to live in - who the hell does he think he is?

At least Aiden is smart, resourceful and badass and can actually hold his own in the revenge games. Plus, there's an element of mystery that still surrounds his character. We don't know everything about him and no matter how much he loves Emily, he remains an unpredictable wildcard. There's nothing like that to Daniel, he's just a spoiled, spineless, manipulable rich boy whose existence comes down to being Emily and/or his parents' pawn.

  35. Im with you on getting rid of Aiden. The show started with Emily taking down her opponents with scandals. Then the show got blown out of proportions with the ridiculous initiative plot line and adding Ninja aiden and making him the most closest thing to Emily was something I did not get and still dont.

I stopped watching the show because of how ridiculous it became and now Im giving it a second chance with the new showrunner.
