  1. Another episode I loved! Glad Miles figured out Gene was on the Patriots' side. The doctor is creepy.

And way to go, Aaron's girlfriend, for spreading that all over town. Ugh at her being afraid of Aaron after he killed the soldiers - if he hadn't done that, they both would have been murdered.

Drugged!Monroe was the best and hilarious. Glad he saved Aaron.

  2. I think Miles killed Monroe's son at the beginning of the season. When he comes out of that shack covered in blood maybe it was the son's blood. He could have mistakenly blamed Miles for his Mother's death and gone after him for revenge. Miles, not knowing who it was that was attacking him, defends himself only to later find out that it was Monroe's son. This would explain the guilty and evasive look that Miles gives Monroe when he asks about him. Also, it would tie that first scene of Miles this with an ongoing plot line, rather than it being some random kill by Miles.

  3. Another awesome episode!

Little shout outs to Lost with of course Juliet's Ex Husband Edmond Burke (Zeljko Ivane), who's playing a doctor again, opposite to Elizabeth Mitchell again. Shall and the mirror mores code reminiscent of Richard Alpert/Ethan Rom/Mittelos Bio Science, Ben and Richard in "There's No Place Like Home Pt. 1" (which Bad Robot theme of "home is where the heart is" was also referenced in this episode via Cynthia and Revolution shares Wizard of Oz reference), and the drug exchange is similar to Mr. Eko's back story...

Nice to see Charlie and Rachel Hug (but they gotta leave asap!) It's too bad Gene had to sell them out, but it does seem like he will be sacrificed in the next couple of episodes, but it's sad that he initially did this to try and save his wife (which the loss of women love interests seems to be a strong continuous theme...PS: hope Cynthia makes it for the rest of the season)

Love that Jason helped his father, but I'm glad he's not completely normal and is still kind of terminator-ish! It will be interesting to see if he can ever revert back. So mad that Tom is leaving Allenford chained to a pipe! But to bad he turned on Allenford, but I suppose she will have valid information relating to her husband...

And Aaron and Monroe ROCKED it!XD --I hope Cynthia gets back some faith (Aaron is Jesus-esque), even though I imagine that maybe she put two and two together in terms of Carl, but I don't remember if she knows the exact circumstances of his death and that he was cheating on her, not that I expect her to condone violence, but seriously, they were gonna die!!! Monroe face when everyone caught fire was hysterical!

    Fun Lines:

"So Now I'm E.T.?!" - Aaron (Super 8 double reference to US military and Argus")
"And that would be for us." - Miles

  4. I thought this episode was slow and a bit boring actually. I get that they wanted the revel that Gene was a Patriot to be a shocking surprise (although I don't think it was for anyone paying attention, as Miles was), but showing all his flashbacks in one episode was repetitive and heavy handed.

And his wife was already dead when Shaw showed up; Gene was returning home from the mass cremation that included his wife. They made a point of focusing on one particular wrapped corpse, and Shaw even offered his condolences.

The mirror morse code was more a shout out, I think, to Jim using the same trick back in season one when it was used to warn the camp that the militia convoy was nearby and that led to the Rebels capturing Neville.

I have to say that I did love all of Monroe's scenes tonight. The bromance is alive and well, the first thing he says is "hey pal" and then teases Miles about being his best friend! And Miles was just to adorkable when he looked embarrassed at that display of emotion. Come on, Bass, as your best friend, you should know that Miles DOES NOT do emotions well!!!

And it was very moving that the first thing still on Monroe's mind was his son...and Miles better come clean on that issue soon or the tentative accord between those two is going to snap all over again.

I really was hoping to see Bass babysit Aaron. I guess we got a bit of that tonight when he swooped in and saved Aaron's ass. Asking Aaron to teach him how to set people on fire was great, can you imagine Bass with that power?

OH, and I've said this on another forum, but I don't think I've said it here: Monroe really needs to stop looking hot as hell wielding weapons. WHY does he look his hottest and sexiest behind a sword or gun?!

The episode description said that "Charlie shares a moment with her mom", and there were two VERY SMALL, don't blink you'd miss them moments between the two. The first was when Rachel says she saved Monroe because Charlie asked her too. That's a 180 decree turn from when Rachel did NOT save Nora when Charlie asked her too. Of course the difference is that Nora was gravely wounded and likely could not be saved anyway, whereas Monroe just needed to be rendered unconscious to be saved.

The second small bit was the hug at the end. Yes, it was great to see them finally hug, and it was great to see Charlie finally put her anger with Rachel aside and offer her mother comfort.

HOWEVER, it took place in a scene where Charlie is still not being told what is going on, or why Rachel is so torn up. While the scene was moving and emotional, sooner or later they need to really...oh, I don't know...TALK OUT their differences!!!

And, personally, I thought the best part of the scene was Miles looking emotional at Rachel and Charlie having their little mother/daughter moment. Just further proof that connection to the two is that he's Charlie's father and wants the women in his life to get along. Why the show doesn't just confirm this fact is getting silly at this point.

Tom and Jason...sigh...I wish I could get into that storyline. Every time the show cuts to them all I can think is "What is happening back in Willoughby! Let's get back to Willoughby!!"

  5. "but showing all his flashbacks in one episode was repetitive and heavy handed."

Thanks for the clarity on his wife. (Every time Revolution is on this year, my dogs have been going on a barking spree! And I always have to rewatch the episode the next day!) I think having his primary flashbacks in this episode is well placed, if the character is going to die in the next couple, but I would hope that we could still have some flashbacks after he is gone featured in Rachel's (although they haven't done this with Nora yet, but Gene I think is a bit more central to Rachel's story, just as Ben is)...

It might be thematic to the other Revolution episode, but both instances are reminiscent to LOST's and there always tends to be a lot of Bad Robot 'riffs' through out the works...

"And it was very moving that the first thing still on Monroe's mind was his son...and Miles better come clean on that issue soon or the tentative accord between those two is going to snap all over again."

Although I understand where you're coming from, I can't yet share the sentiment, because I have no idea who Monroe's son is and because I have no idea what would happen should he not meet Bass's expectations and visa versa....Imagine of he's a Patriot and/or somebody worse than Monroe, or someone very kind and innocent!

I'm ready for Jason and Tom to come back to our gang, but I have enjoyed seeing Tom prove his loyalty to Jason despite the odds and despite that Jason is clearly not the same, but I expect that whatever he is going to learn in the next few episodes will probably pay off an tie into what's happening with everyone else. I think for Jason's sake, it was good that we got see something rather serious happen to him to add another complication to his character.

  6. Awesome episode. High Monroe was amazing and I loved that Charlie and Rachel finally found some common ground. The fighting scene with Monroe was amazing. I love Monroe, it's official! This season this has turned into one of my favorite hours of TV, I hope this keeps up! It's SO good!
