  1. Fart/fat jokes and magical punches through the air in slow motion à la Merlin all help made this episode a lot worse than its potential imo. Love spells have been done to death, which didn't help it's cause for me either, I also find playing with someone's emotions in that way unreprehensible and very creepy. Being turned in to a pig for 15 minutes isn't really much of a 'punishment' imo.

On the plus side, it's nice to see more of Hercules background and Pythagoras using his intellect for a change.

  2. Jack Donnolley is poor. I said it. Ive tried to get on board with him but he's just incredibly bland and tonight I didn't feel much chemistry with him and any of the characters. Hercules is literally a pig even before being turned into one because to use a spell to make Medusa fall in love with him is unforgiveable. Im sure once he had his way with her he'd move on to the next pretty girl. I just have no idea how he will become the strong legendary hero when he's a womanising drunk and a one note character. I just don't feel the central trio, its like we're supposed to believe they're all great friends but we hardly know anything about them really and I don't even care about them and its 6 episodes in. There are good things to Atlantis though and I love the impending doom of Medusas story and Sarah Parish and Ariadnes acid exchanges are a pleasure to watch and the locations are often quite lovely. Theres also a slightly darker tone unfolding at last but I fear with main characters like Jason who have failed to capture my heart and imagination, Im not sure if Id really care that much if they sank Atlantis tomorrow. Its a pity as it has got potential but I just don't feel any connection to the characters emotionally and thats a major drawback. However I will watch the rest of the series and hope it improves as frankly it can't get much worse.

  3. Donnelly is a worry isn't he, I sure hope he is able to up his game like Bradley managed to do during the first season of Merlin. He needs to be more subtle imo, and better scripts would maybe help. As you say the chemistry between the main 3 is abysmal, and to be honest it feels like it's the Hercules show not Jason's.

  4. Yes, Jack Donnelly has a pretty face, a nicely developed torso and a cute smile - but that is not enough, I am afraid.

  5. Totally agree. Hercules is the man so far.

  6. I could not help shouting out loud when the back throw happened. Incredible. Speechless.

  7. Well, I voted for good. But even that was a little bit of a push and a hum.
Why is Phytagoras a physician out of a sudden who sounds suspiciously like Gaius out of a sudden??? using the same vocabulary???? How dos he know about spells and how to heal them????
He is good at triangles, supposedly (two references to that, I think, but no proof) but why whould he shine at medicine???
On the positive side I did stay awake this time and saw the episode through till the end. :)
    Sigh.
