Misfits - Episode 5.03 - Preview and Dialogue Teasers

While not as strong as last week’s Rudy centric instalment this is a decent episode which gives most of the gang to shine in some way or other. Abby embarks on an affair with the sweet smelling Laura, but it isn't long before she see what she believes to be a long lost memory from her childhood that leads her to find out that Laura is more than just a soul mate. I was a little disappointed that the ‘terrifying force’ that this relationship releases promised in both the press release and promo turned out to not actually be in much of the story overall. But this does instead give plenty of time over to discover who, or what, Abby really is in a satisfying manner, so it’s only a minor grumble.

Finn and Greg’s subplot is a little strange however, their relationship doesn't really mirror or compliment the main story in the way you would normally expect with a secondary plot devise most of the time, but it is fun to watch it evolve. Both actors really sink their teeth into the material, and the awkwardness which slowly builds up to a very sinister moment in which Finn must do the inevitable in order to stop the probation workers advances is performed superbly.

I know some were believing that Sam in the promos was either Simon or Nathan before the series started, but it seems that he could actually be the new superhoodie! I'm still not sure what to make of his character at the moment; is he really what he says he is or is Rudy Two placing too much trust in what he has interpreted from the jumper. I really would like a surprise twist with the knitted jumper idea, it doesn't really come up this week but it does looks as though that it will be explored more in episode 4 when we will meet an electrician with a super power. Surely this is the person on the bottom right of the jumper?

Tune in to E4 at 10pm on 6th Novemeber for episode, below are some teasers to see you through until then...

"You don't need me to protect me anymore"

"So that's the big mystery solved then, you're a lesbian"

"I am no longer your Probation Worker. You are no longer on Community Service"

"I'm going to need your car to move the situation"

"The power of love, a force from above, cleaning my soul. Sing it. Sing"

"ACID, AAAACID!! ACID AAAACID!!"

"So, you find out that she's imaginary and you squeeze her breast?"

"It's just that I remember when I was first created, you have all these questions spinning round your head"

"Women are a fucking mystery, I mean even their genitalia is mysterious"

"You made me feel safe, I liked it"

Trailer Teaser

"You know if I wasn't a total fuck up I'd probably ask you out for a drink"

  1. There seems to be at least one
monkey meme an episode this series, or have I missed this happening
    before? I remember Kelly’s ill-fated
romance with gorilla boy and, of course, the infamous ‘monkey slut’ code word,
but I can’t recall any other instances off the top of my head? There are two different references to monkeys
in this episode (but no cornetto unless I missed it) so I think it must be a conscious
    thing that Overman is including.

  2. Sounds like we're about to see a lot less of Greg... Also, is Sam literally a mysterious Superhoodie type, or is it just because he wears a hoodie?

  3. I can't really give too much away, but he seems get a confidence boost in this episode that means he can face his demons and help others in a bad situation in a way Superhoodie did. He isn't actually in this one too much, but I think it's laying down the direction he will go in the next one...kind of like how Abby found the scarf in ep 2 but then it's dealt with in this one.
