After Dark World is released in theaters Nov. 8, the Nov. 19 episode of S.H.I.E.L.D., “The Well,” will continue where the film left off. Here’s the official description: “In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.”
The episode is directed by sci-fi TV luminary Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation), who previously directed an episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-creator Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse.
There’s a slew of announced guest stars in the episode, but none from Thor 2 (so no Chris Hemsworth stopping by to wave his hammer at Coulson): “Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.”

But I haven't seen it yet and I doubt I will before the episode...
ReplyDeleteI mean, it's exciting but still!
Does that mean the episode will spoil the movie?
ReplyDeleteI know; I'm in the same boat. But I doubt that it will rely very heavily on the specifics of the movie, especially given that there aren't actually any characters making the crossover. Plus, they pretty much have to take into account that not all of their audience will have seen the film.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good point.
ReplyDeleteYESSS. This makes me appreciate the tv show more. Didn't like the direction the show was going. Little mentions here and there about New York, Coulson and Extremis. I always wonder what happens in the aftermath. Good to see the show deal with it..
ReplyDeleteAWW YISS, I will have seen TDW by then, gimme all the crossovers!
ReplyDeleteSo no guest stars from the Thor 2 cast? That's disappointing. :(
ReplyDeleteI wish they could include Darcy and her assistant Ian in this crossover episode. Kat Dennings was hilarious as Darcy, it would've been cool to see a familiar face from the film.
Not all i would say. At least the ones who have seen the trailers. Everybody who`s watched the trailers or movie know that the earth is attacked or something from the Dark Elves ends up in London. It does not spoil more i would think. It`s not like they`re having Chris Hemsworth being in all of the episode and explaning how i killed Kurse and stuff (if he does that in the movie).
ReplyDeleteAlready posted this as a press release of the episode: http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/11/agents-of-shield-episode-107-well-press.html
ReplyDeleteInteresting naming of the episode.
ReplyDeleteCould the "Well" refer to Urdbrunn - the Well of Fate in the poetic edda? The Well that connects the root of yggdrassil to the three fates. One of three wells to lead into three different worlds - one beneath the tree, one beneath the spring, one in the home of frost giants.
Considering Thor connections this supposedly has, that is quite likely.
I'm already excited for this, I have no doubt the show won't spoil anything major from the movies. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds pretty cool. I find it interesting that Klutzy_Girl said Season 1 because I don't think Agents of SHIELD will get another season. One of the reasons why so many shows fail these days is because the shows creators don't realize that the kind of show that they made need to be either a mini-series or a one season show. Shows like Last Resort, Awake, Flash Forward, The Event, and many others are the result of that failure. Agents of SHIELD is interesting but I can't see it being anymore so if it has another season.
ReplyDeleteSounds more like a tie-in, which is different than a crossover.
ReplyDeleteDamn! I would ADORE a visit from Zachary Levi!!! (Thor 2's Fandral, Chuck). Now, when are we going to see that Chuck movie?
