Wasn't too happy with the options, no it shouldn't have had more seasons, but the ending was perfect! Still love and will defend the finale till my dying day :p
I was OK with the ending, but it did rather make the whole last season pointless as far as I am concerned as all the flashes off island were a waste of time.
No it had the right amount, the only thing I would have changed is more eps in S4. They had to cut the episode order because of the writers strike and so some interesting storylines were abandoned like more flashbacks with the freighter team and I believe more Ben plot as well.
The first 3 seasons of LOST was the best TV I have ever seen. I love that show, and even though I think it went a bit downhill from season 4, it was still much better than anything else on TV. But by the time it ended I was glad it did. So, No, I would not have liked more seasons of Lost. But I do miss it. Fandom was disgused a lot yesterday, and I found the LOST community great and can miss that too sometimes.
I don't think it should have ended MUCH before the sixth season, I think with a good planning fo the finale, the fifth would have been ok as the final one.
I loved the show, loved the series, loved the run (alright season 4 and 5 were meh for me in places). It took me a few days to accept the finale and understand it and actually grow to like it. However, I don't think they should've had more seasons. After Season 3 they decided they would go to Season 6, with that knowledge so far ahead of time, they should've come up with a more concrete and solid run that answered the questions perhaps a bit more satisfactorily.
I voted I really don't know. I mean, I do like were we ended and I felt complete after the last episode, but I would have loved a spin off of Hurley and Ben on the island.
No, the finale was ok and explained all the mysteries. It still amazes me that LOST is still popular, I watched it as a kid and thought it was ok series. It can be hard to follow but I don't mind complicating storylines half the times and the finale was laid out straight :)
No answer in the poll really works for me, actually. I wouldn't have wanted Lost to go on longer than it did, but neither because I thought the finale was so great (like the entire final season, it was very "meh") nor because I wanted answers to all the mysteries. The fact is, it's retroactively obvious that 95% of the mysteries on the show were intended to spike interest in the show, create buzz and keep the audience guessing with hundreds of crazy theories - the writers never bothered to think of a solution for them. It wasn't "let's show this weird thing that'll eventually be explained by [x,y,z]", it was "let's show this weird thing that makes no sense and we have no way to explain, just to string viewers along". So basically, if the show had gone on longer, it would've been even worse because they would have eventually left us with even more questions and unresolved plot points. There was never an intention to explain anything. Basically, what I would have wanted is for Lost to do what I think every mystery-based show should do: figure out the entire mythology before the start of the show, plant hints accordingly as the show went along and eventually explain everything based on a plan that was in place from the start. Instead, it was a show based on endlessly baiting the audience with "WTF?" moments and shocking developments, with the empty promise of rewarding loyal viewers with all the answers in the end. I'm always going to give Lost credit for its brilliant and creative storytelling techniques (moments like the flash-forward reveal in the S3 finale are forever in the pantheon of TV greatness, no doubt), but the story itself, in the end, was an empty shell.
Any show that has a good number of mysteries should never try to explain them all. A lot of them are there to give the fans a reason to watch closer and honestly if you tried to explain them all then it causes problems.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteNo more seasons. The minute they ran out of a plan and started just throwing things in and forgetting what they'd started, they should have stopped.

The criticism that I actually do agree with is that it went on too long
ReplyDeleteending was great ,but it could have answered a few more questions maybe had 7 seasons instead of 6 but most things were answered

ReplyDeleteBen's storyline is my favourite!

ReplyDeleteThe series of finale of LOST was awful, IMO. I think it should have ended much sooner.
