Revolution - Season 2 - Elizabeth Mitchell interview

TVLINE | The band is finally back together — but there are not a lot of hugs going around.

And there really should be, right? I feel like that’s so heartbreaking, the fact that Rachel couldn’t bring herself to hug her daughter. So sad. I was screaming at the TV – “Just hug her! You missed her like crazy!”

TVLINE | Even Aaron got a hug from Charlie.

I know! That was one of the things in watching that, it was so heartbreaking for Rachel. Inside she was like, “Why can’t I just be present, why can’t I put my arms around her?” But so often pride and anger and fear keep us from doing what we should, letting the people we love know that we love them. It was very human, but very, very sad.

  1. I love this woman so much. I adore the fact that she is always the biggest fan of her shows (Lost, V, Revolution). I too agree with her that is quite sad that she and Charlie cannot seem to bond - I think they are too similar for their own good.

  2. TVLINE | What is Dr. Horn’s role there within the Patriots’ organization?
They’ve kind of alluded to the fact that he is a terrifying presence. He reminds me of any kind of a war crimes doctor, in that there’s something about him that is truly, truly scary. If you go through all those names that make you shudder, I feel like he might be up there with them. But what I feel like they’ve done, which is interesting, is they’ve made him very human. I can’t say why that is, because it hasn’t happened yet, but he’s not just dark. You can see why he does what he does. I like that in a character."

So we shouldn't expect him to get hit by ship or something ;) -But no, really I'm VERY interested in the character and I'm glad he isn't a point blank villain and hopefully isn't a complete through away character!

I'm glad EM was able to justify Rachel's behavior and glad though that there will be some more heart warming moments between her and Charlie. I've got this feeling Monroe is going to die and get resurrected by the nanites! Can't wait for tonight, since their advertising it as such an important episode!!!!XD

  3. i don't think they are too, similar, other than their appearance. I think the main issue is rachel is a bad mom.

I don't know why rachel finds it so hard to bond with charlie. I guess she hasn't been a mother for years but she should still have those mothering skills from Pre-blackout years, unless she was never a good mother.

From charlie's prespective her mom left them, now we understand why but charlie spent most of her life without her mom. Then her dad and brother died becasuse of everything with monroe which was related to rachel. Then her mom left her again and in the season 1 finale her mom let nora die and did what rachel wanted to do. Than after that she had a breakdown. From charlie's prespective rachel isn't a stable supportive mother.

  5. Slightly disagree. They both do what they have to in order to survive, but what that is ultimately puts them at odds, because especially more for Charlie, who's tends to be more judgmental and in line with the audience's perspective of Rachel, can't relate to Rachel, because Charlie doesn't really know who Rachel is and why Rachel has done the things she has done.

  7. in this episode rachel was a good mom at the end when she saved monroe. She showed growth and i hope they keep moving her in that direction.

  8. I'm not sure if this instance proves she's a good mom, as much as she isn't as bad of person we think. I'm not sure if it's Charlie alone that effected her, as I think it's possible that Miles (and of course Ben) is not her father after all...
