Blue Bloods Cancelled Shows Carrie Diaries Grimm Hawaii 5-0 Last Man Standing RatingsThis table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below)

LOL at The Carrie Diaries. Bring back Nikita CW.
ReplyDeleteGreat numbers for Grimm and Dracula! NBC must be pleased. Fantastic for Dracula holding 100% of it's lead-in.
ReplyDeleteNikita comes back Nov 22 for its final 6 ep run
ReplyDeleteNice number for Dracula! I was pleased with the first ep. Good number for Grimm as well. I think I know have the incentive to begin watching the series
ReplyDeleteYes I already know that but it's too late !
ReplyDeleteParing Grimm with Dracula was the smartest thing NBC have done this tv season
ReplyDeleteI'm just thankful it's getting a decent ending. No point in crying over spilled milk
ReplyDeleteThe Carrie Diaries is doing as good as BATB on a Friday! If one is to survive, it's TCD. People usually hate on it just because of its ratings, but if you sit and watch you'll see that's a good show, different from everything on tv right now.
ReplyDeleteTCD did as expected being ona Friday, i dopnt think is enough to get a renew and for the show is really hard to go up from here, but anyways the show is doing better than BaTB :p
ReplyDeleteplus what else will they put on Friday?
ReplyDeleteWhat's so funny? both series have been lucky. CW could have cancelled them, due to the low ratings. I'm with The CW, I want its series to succeed.
ReplyDeleteAnother show I guess, they burned off Cult there.
ReplyDeleteIt's doing better than many of the other shows on the network.
ReplyDeleteExactly, no matter how bad you think a show might be to others it could be their escape. I say any decent show should do well for everyone's benefit
ReplyDeleteVery good night all around:
ReplyDelete- NBC drama combo did very well, better than I expected, considering that Grimm finished off with a 1.7 on tuesdays out of the voice. Dracula is very impressive also with all that demo at 10pm friday. I am happy for both shows but kind of sad for revolution, even though I am not sure their futures are tied together
- the ABC comedies repeated ridiculously strong, what's up with that?
- shark tank is in full beast mode... This week, on ABC it was beaten by Grey's, Scandal and MF. It was a couple of tents lower than ouat, the middle and sfn and it could adjust up to tie or beat these. It's a beast.
- Very happy that H50 hold up so well. Great for the show.
- 20/20 benefited from not facing dateline, but I still think the show would be better used sundays at 10pm. If anything, dracula shows it is possible to launch something at that timeslot.
- TCD did bad, but it id as well as it could be expected.
Why do you say that when people talk about how bad of a ratings performer a certain show is we are hating on it? We are merely commenting on facts. The Carrie Diaries is a terrible ratings performer. That has nothing to do with its quality, since I've never watched the show.
ReplyDeleteExcluding the voice and the voice lead-outs, the only thing that beat them was the biggest looser. that says a lot.
ReplyDeleteHave patience with Grimm. I think the first half of season 1 is not on par with the rest of the series at all, it is by far the weakest portion of the show. It took me a while to get attached to it, I couldn't get into it. But it is definitely worth it once you get past those first episodes.
ReplyDeleteIt actually grew out of Grimm since the half hours were 1.8/1.7/1.9/1.7
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Didn't see the half hours. Pretty good numbers for the show.
ReplyDeleteYay Grimm owning Friday and getting better ratings than most of nbc's weekday shows! It's the little show that could and I love it. Haven't decided if I'm watching Dracula yet, but good for it, that's a pretty strong start, now they need to see if they can hold it for the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love Nikita too, but let's not glorify its ratings. When it was moved back to 8pm around this time last season, it did mostly 0.4's with a couple of 0.5 thrown in there. (It declined later but I'll put that aside to make the comparison more direct.) Granted, that's better than 0.3 but not by much, and then there's the year-to-year drop in ratings across the board. Only shows that have already cultivated a loyal following escape it.
ReplyDeleteSo while TCD's premiere numbers are dreadful by objective standards, they're frankly acceptable by The CW's Friday standards (which are very very very low). I was very surprised that it was renewed for a second season, and I'd be positively stunned if it was renewed for a third, but it's barely doing any worse than Nikita.
they could air another Reality after ANTM
ReplyDeleteI don't think they have any standards, especially with the way it's sinking each year.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I know that renewal was never guaranteed and given how 3x20 and 3x21 got 0.2, we're lucky the show wasn't cancelled outright with a cliffhanger, which has happened to many shows before. On the other hand, I do feel The CW should've extended this courtesy a bit further and given it, say, 10 episodes for the final season, like they did Gossip Girl. Nikita's third season simply ended with too many loose ends to tie up in a mere six episodes: Nikita being wanted for the supposed murder of the President, whatever the hell The Shop's highly intricate plan is, Alex's new path as a U.N. representative, Sam, taking down Amanda once and for all... I just feel that it's going to be a very rushed season and the resolution won't be satisfying.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I know we've complained about this a million times but the network once again didn't do Nikita any favors with the scheduling. It's going back to the Friday 9/8c slot (a.k.a. the worst slot on the schedule) and will air at a difficult period, I gather. Don't remember what it's up against exactly. I just think that given how short Season 4 is, they could've used Nikita as filler in a weeknight (Mon-Thu) slot while another show is another hiatus, instead of repeats. It would've been a chance to give the show a little extra exposure - and ratings - for its final run.
But anyway, all of this said, of course I'm excited for S4 (not as much as I was a year ago because I found S3 pretty disappointing) and thankful that we're even getting it. I hope they go out in style.
actually the show is tied with BATB they both got 0.3 for every episode thats aired this year. Of course friday is a harder day and it might do better next friday with ANTM airing with it.
ReplyDeleteCult was a shame because it did as good as BATB, TCD and HOD are doing and the second half of the season was amazing. The cliff hanger final would have opened the door for a wicked second season.
ReplyDeleteThats the problem with shows like cult, Secret circle, 666 park avenue. They start off so slow and lose all the viewers than halfway through the season they pick up speed and have amazing episodes.
They will have to find a replacement anyway, because TCD is only 13 episodes. I think they'll move BatB to Friday because they don't have a ton of options, and doing so would clear a Monday slot for Star-Crossed come midseason. Perhaps the best idea would be another reality show, like Ron (and others) have suggested. The CW knows it doesn't stand a chance on Friday, so they might as well occupy these slots with cheap shows that don't have to do great to return the investment in them.
ReplyDeleteI agree if one survives it should be TCD. It has a chance of gaining viewers because tons of woman watched sex and the city. Personally I hope they cancel both. They can keep HOD on another season for synidcation than cancel that and the three weakest shows will be gone.
ReplyDeletei think they should move HOD to friday because its only doing 0.4 on monday so it can't fall anymore. Plus its going to get renewed due to synidcation.
ReplyDeleteI doun't watch Nikita but i agree that they made the wrong decision with it last year. BATB and TCD shouldn't have gotten a second season and Nikita should have gotten a full season one friday to finish off the story.
It annoys me thinking about all the good shows cw has cancelled over the years for pulling in 0.5-0.8 ratings when now they are keeping shows with 0.3-0.4 on the air.
Great for Grimm and Dracula. I certainly thought Dracula would be a couple of tenths lower than Grimm. If this keeps up, NBC should be happy.
ReplyDeleteThe Carri Diairies did OK. No one was expecting for it to do any better than it's previous slot.
Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods are stable with last week, though they did gain half a million viewers each.
I don't watch Nikita, but seeing that it hit a few 0.2s last season, The CW could have easily cancelled it. I think they shortened 4th season is just to give it a proper ending.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the "monster block" on NBC is one of the best decisions they've made. Grimm is truly a phenomenon, holding up so well on the toughest night of the week, and for Dracula to mantain all of Grimm's audience at freaking 10pm... very impressive.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same about the number of episodes, 10 would have felt better, half of a season, but in the meantime, very happy that we can get a "decent" ending. Also think since the beginning that 6 episodes.. come on, they could have played during the hiatus of any other show!
ReplyDeleteI agree it was the same for me! I started catching up on it during the summer after Season 1, wasn't that into it but when I was watching the second half of the season, I started to really like it and season 2 was really good!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that and there was barely any advertising.
ReplyDeleteExactly the same for me ahah
ReplyDeleteAll it shows is how far the network has fallen and it wasn't even that big to being with.
ReplyDeleteIdk about that, they tried to appeal to SatC fans lasy yeah and with Sam this season, but they're really not the target audience for the show besides a few references here and there.
ReplyDeleteI think the CW is going to want to repeat the new shows during their hiatus. So the Tomorrow People will have repeats on Wednesdays in the winter to try to get some new viewers before it comes back, etc. So airing during the week would come at the expense of promoting something else. Whatever. I'm excited because these six episodes will be epic. The only plot that I think would have been better suited for a longer season is the Owen/Sam plot, that felt more like setting up for the future.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it really was a good decision it looks like.
ReplyDeleteThey could extend its order if it happened to do well. Last year, Scandal's sophmore season only had a 13 episode order and it was extended to 22 episodes.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they need to keep any of them. Even if all midseason shows flop, they can go ahead with 3 new dramas + TVD + TO + Arrow + Supernatural + TTP + HOD + America's Next Top Model and fill in the 10 hours.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's true for the new shows, but TVD and SPN don't need repeats - they have a large, loyal following that isn't going anywhere. So Nikita could've replaced those during their breaks. Or heck, Hart of Dixie - no one will ever convince me that Nikita would've done worse than a repeat of that show.
ReplyDeleteYou can never compare ratings from different seasons with one another. The correct way to do it, if you want to, is to divide the rating by that season's overall average. Then you can compare shows.
ReplyDeleteAs for moving HoD, why would they move it? It would likely do the same as TCD is doing on Fridays, and what would they replace it with on Mondays? I don't see the point.
It has more to do with potential syndication packages than a proper ending IMO.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's technically possible, but it would take a miracle for it to happen. Of course, we can't know for sure what would replace TCD if it was cancelled after its 13 episode run. It could be BatB, but also Reign if it continued to slip and The CW preferred to clear the post-TVD slot for Star-Crossed or The 100. They'll definitely have to move *something* there if/when TCD vacates the slot, because they don't have any available slots for the two midseason shows right now.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if TCD ends up doing surprisingly well, another possibility would be to give it a back 9 and then slash BatB or Reign's episode order to make room for the new shows. (Or even TTP, but I really hope that show stabilizes and escapes the meat grinder.)
I think the post The Vampire Diaries slot is kind of cursed, 'cause The CW have tried for years to find a series that could keep a big part of its rating, but it never fully worked(Supernatural, Nikita, The Secret Circle, Beauty and The Beast, and apparently, this year, Reign). So, I think CW should change its expectations, 'cause a big part of The Vampire Diaries' fans crearly don't care about the thursday 9 pm show, no matter the genre.
ReplyDeleteSorry, you misunderstood me. I wasn't implying that it was likely that TCD was going to get extended, just stating that the mere fact that it has a 13 episode order means nothing about the possibility of it having a full season. If it were to do well, it could have one.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Some have suggested that TVD fans always go online after a new episode to discuss the latest plot twists/commence their Stelena vs. Delena wars, so they don't stick around to watch whatever comes on after. Nikita, TSC and BatB did have strong premieres and retained nearly all of TVD's audience, but they all started to slip quickly. Reign didn't even start that well, and I don't see it surviving for long.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think the smart play would be to move TVD to 9pm and try a new show BEFORE it, not after. Like SPN, it's a show that has cultivated a large and loyal following, so it shouldn't lose viewers due to the move (especially while remaining on the same night) - The CW needs to take advantage of that. Maybe a freshman show would do better at 8pm than 9pm. There's no guarantee it would work, but trying TVD as a lead-in over and over again is like The CW banging their head against a wall. It clearly doesn't work, they need to come up with something else.
No, I understood you. I knew you were only referring to the theoretical possibility of TCD getting a full season, rather than saying it's likely to happen. I actually didn't know that, I thought they specifically intended to have a 13-episode season and replace it in midseason.
ReplyDeleteI still have hopes for Reign, if CW will be patient, I think it could improve a bit.
ReplyDeleteAbout trying a new show at 8pm, it could be a good possibility(I thought about that, too), if there wasn't a 'monster' like The Big Bang Theory that kills the competition, except The Vampire Diaries.
Like a limited series you mean? Well, it's possible but I have never heard anything suggesting that.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that TBBT is a beast, but I'm not sure its audience overlaps with whoever watches The CW. I think they should try the TVD/new show switch at least once, it's a low risk move in my opinion because if there was ever a show that shouldn't be hurt by a timeslot change, that's TVD.
ReplyDeleteI never thought H50 would be steady wow I'm happy same numbers in demographic last week and slightly up with the numbers :D can't wait for the DVR numbers
ReplyDeleteYeah, it wasn't until episode 6 or 7 I started to get into Grimm.
ReplyDeleteI know it would do 0.3-0.4 on friday but thats what it does on monday and its will be renewed so it doesn't matter. Instead of wasting money on a second season of TCD they could have tried a new show on monday either the 100 or star-crossed or something else. Even if the new show only got 0.6 it would still be double what they are getting rating wise now.
ReplyDeletei agree if i was running cw those are the shows i would keep
ReplyDeleteTo me it took me even a bit more than that, that's why I recommended patience.
ReplyDeleteBut why won't they do Star-Crossed/Hart of Dixie on Mondays then? It makes more sense to me to cut Beauty than to send Hart of Dixie to Fridays right away IMO. Also, I am not sure a CW midseason show can pull of a 0.6 like that, look at TCD last year, and that one actually had some buzz. I think the one that lands post TVD has a chance (I soo hope its The 100 because I really want that one to work), but the other one I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteTCD is a drama, dramas don't work on the cw underless they have a scifi supernatural element. Look at their top shows TVD, Supernatural, Arrow, the originals.
ReplyDeleteI didn't write it down but in my mind i was thinking they should have/ still should cancel Beauty and teh beast. but ya they can burn it off on friday and do star-crossed/ hod on monday.
I think with all great adult actors in the 100 if its is adversed like reign was it can pull in adult viewers and work. I think if next year they day TVD/ORIGINALS, Supernatural/ tomorrow people and arrow/ the 100. they could have 3 good nights with cross promotion.
I agree. Seeing the numbers took a load off my mind yesterday. I hope the final rating will be at least steady. Half hours went up from 1.3 to 1.4 if I remember correctly.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is talking about being aired on a Friday is hard and compare it to f.i. BatB on a "better" Monday. BatB was at the premier pre-empted due to football and they have a lot of competition with the Voice and reruns of TBBT. So the Monday time slot is hard too. And I wanna point out that S2 of BatB is so great and different. More people should give it a chance! It def deserves better ratings and they're getting great reviews this season!
ReplyDeleteThe 100 has great adult actors and should be adversed like Reign? That's exactly what BatB has ( great adult actors, I'm curious if you ever watched it. Especiallythis 2nd sseason) and what they didn't have (hardly adversed comparedto other shows). I'm glad it's not cancelled,it's like a complete new show this year and it's great. But not enough people know so they don't get a fair chance. The reviews are great but Mondays are bad with all the competition and football etc. It deserves more, give it a chance!
